I want to like this company a 5 stars worth amount but I just can't. 5 stars would be because I love their values and ethics and it is a local woman-owned business that uses very environmentally friendly products. 5 stars because my house was clean for the most part and I liked the people doing the hard work.... they seemed reliable, trustworthy and seemed to like their job. I have never had my house cleaned before and I have no other experience to compare it to. Here's why I'm taking off 2 stars: ***Email and phone communication was a little bit difficult and confusing. ***On the day of the (very expensive ) deep cleaning, the 3 person crew was about 30 minutes late and I had to call to find out why and to make sure they were coming. And here are the BIG REASONS ------- I made some assumptions I shouldn't have.... The walk through didn't thoroughly explain to me exactly what was going to be done and what wasn't. I thought that the inside of my stove was going to be cleaned and I assumed wrong. I thought my trashes, compost and recycling would be emptied. I thought that behind my TV was going to be cleaned, and I assumed wrong. I thought that a corner of my kitchen where I keep my grocery bags would be mopped and it was 100% not cleaned. (Next time I'll know to hang them on a door handle to expose the floor where I need mopped - same thing with the kitchen floor mats.) Finally, my bathroom sink was completely clogged by debris after this company's visit and I called and received a call back advising me to use a chemical product or, if I really needed them to, they would come out and clear it out for me. The owner didn't really sound happy or thrilled with that idea and so I just spent another 120 bucks on having a plumber come out. I think that it is very stressful to run a business and that's why I'm not taking more stars off. I also have no other cleaning experiences to compare this to and think I may be the type of person that would never be happy having someone else clean my house because it wouldn't be thorough enough? The whole thing took about 3 hours. UPDATE: Owner contacted me and offered to pay for the plumber and was very professional about the situation. I bought their daily deal on Google offers recently and have been trying to get in touch with them to schedule an appointment for the past 3 weeks - they have been unresponsive to voice mails and emails. Businesses that cannot deal with volume shouldn't be sending out coupons. read more

Well Shoot! You can see my original review below if you care to read that far, but do so at your own risk. Our experience was similar to another reviewer who was enjoying the company's services until one day the gals did not show up, we did not receive a phone call, and we never heard from them again! After they did not show up as expected I called to make sure we had our dates alligned. I left a voicemail, texted twice over the next couple days, and then one final attempt with a voicemail about a week later. No response. Because our relationship seemed good with Aurora (the owner) we were extremely weirded out by the sudden drop off and lack of communication. Given that this is not an isolated incident, we suspect that something dubious is going on (theft or casing the joint) or perhaps it was just extremely unprofessional. Who knows??? We had them out to the house every couple weeks for about 3 months. then nothing. I should mention that the last time they came, I was not scheduled to be there but my schedule changed and I was. She normally comes with 2-3 gals including herself. This day, she showed up with 4!! people (3 gals, 1 guy) and mentioned she was doing some training. That alone weirded me out but we trusted Aurora since she was there. I would not have allowed all strangers in if she wasn't there with them. Also I should mention that she rarely had the same crew, which isn't the most comforting thing but she was always there with them and all seemed polite and hard working. I no longer trust her, or this company. **Original Review** Second time I've had them come out to do a deep clean. The house looks great. Prices are fair. Usually a small team comes (2-4). They are very polite, respectful, hard working, and focused on the areas I asked of them. I would highly recommend them to others in the area. I plan to hire them on an ongoing basis. They were 15-35 mins late both times so far; not a big deal and probably not a factor once regularly scheduled cleanings begin. Communication has been good. read more

I had the Green Gals out to do my spring cleaning. I keep things pretty tidy on the regular, but thought I would indulge in having a professional do the deep cleaning (baseboards, windowsills, blinds, that spot where you keep the recycling that always seems to get sad, etc). I picked Green Gals because trying to stay environmentally friendly and supporting local businesses are important to me. They were very quick in responding to my request and punctual on the day of. The cleaners were really personable and I had fun chatting with them a bit during the cleaning. The owner of the business even had some advice on what types of cleaning products she liked to use and where to purchase them. The apartment looked fresh and new afterward and I was really pleased! I was especially impressed that they managed to get the cat fur off of my boyfriend's ancient rocker that I had given up on making look fresh a long time ago. The only imperfect thing worth stating is that after the cleaning there was a really noticeable dust/dirt smudge on my shower curtain in the master bathroom, I expect from the vaccuum rubbing off on it sometime during the cleaning. (The shower curtain is white so it was easily spotted). It came off quickly with just a regular washing so it wasn't an issue but it spoiled the "sparkly" feeling a tiny bit. I'd be happy to use Green Gals again in the future and encourage anyone interested in environmentally friendly and personable cleaners to do the same! read more

We were really pleased with Green Gals. Aurora and co were nice to deal with and did a really good job cleaning the place. I say 'were' because after having worked with them for several months, our last appointment was cancelled ten minutes before they were due to arrive (via voicemail and claiming a family emergency). I've been unsuccessful at rescheduling as they have fallen off the face of the planet and won't answer the phone or respond to voicemail (several, left over a couple of weeks). We don't know why we were 'fired' and are really disappointed to be treated that way. So, if you're up for a good cleaning, and not requiring dependable service, Green Gals may be for you. read more

I have tried many different cleaners and Green Gals is my favorite. In the past, we used Maid Brigade but they were pretty expensive and their quality went downhill after only a couple months. Since then, I tried finding someone through Craigslist - but you definitely get what you pay for there! Lots of sloppy jobs and no-shows. Lame! I am so happy I tried Green Gals! Not only are they affordable, they are meticulous enough to get a 5-star review from someone as OCD about cleaning as I am. As a matter of fact, my two-year-old has actually tried to walk through the shower door after the house gets cleaned because it's so spotless. This has happened to adult houseguests as well! What makes this even more miraculous to me is that our shower doors get a lot of hard water stains between cleanings! And they do it all with out using any harsh chemicals! Which, of course, scores huge bonus points for me as a mom of two kids! My favorite thing about a Green Gals cleaning though are the little extra touches and attention to detail they bring to the job. The owners are moms and it shows! They do a great job of replacing outlet covers and looking out for your kids safety while cleaning. And, I'm always pleasantly surprised when I come home and find a whimsical little vignette formed from with my toddler's previously strewn toys. I have so many good things to say about these gals. I know it sounds silly - but I feel like they're the cleaning agency for the cool kids and hipsters. They wear pretty rockin' uniforms which include Adidas Sambas! From the look of it, I'd say the owners really care about their employees and try to keep things fun for them. It really gives the whole company a really unique, supremely Seattle vibe. This was my first time using a cleaning service, and I'm so glad I did! They did a very thorough deep clean. The house smells like orange and lavender now, instead of diapers. :) The bathrooms are shiny - they even folded the toilet paper! I have a Serbian tea set that is a dust magnet, and they've made it look shiny and new. There were only two women instead of three - one was away this week - so it took about 5 hours to clean our two bedroom, two bath apartment. They were both really friendly and helpful. Aurora was really quick to return my phone call when I called to book my appointment and I was able to book them for the same week, which was terrific, particularly since I was using the yelp deal and sometimes it can be hard to book places when you're using a coupon. Hired them on to clean up my house. They did a fantastic job of cleaning up after I had my wedding reception. They also managed to get my stained bathtub sparkling as if it were brand new! I didn't even think it was possible. They did it without using harsh chemicals too. In fact, they didn't use any chemicals at all. They are all natural which of course scores major points with me. I was so optimistic. Great products, very nice ladies and a reasonable price. However, in the 6 times they came the never once came within an hour of their scheduled time. Twice they called to say they couldn't make it. Extremely unprofessional. Perhaps Redmond was too far for them, but they should have been upfront and addressed the problem professionally. Regarding their cleaning, it was adequate given the price, but not a good fit for someone who pays attention to detail (Christmas needles under the couch, bath mats continually left in the bedroom after vacuuming, etc.) read more

Stellar experience! Prompt, friendly, thorough, and arrived in a great green "uniform." I bought the Yelp deal to clean my new home before moving-in. Fantastic. They kept to their agreed upon timeline and got the job done...the house smelled wonderful. And a little surprise in each bathroom...they folded the toilet paper ends into a "fan." While Green Gals were really nice people, I did not think they were very efficient or effective. They shared that they were overwhelmed by all the Yelp deal business they were getting. For our deep cleaning of our house, they came late. Not being able to finish at the first appointment, they came two more times and had to re-clean again which was inconvenient for both them and me. This was about 2.5 years ago, and I hear they may no longer be in business now. read more

The Green Gals made our holidays so much more cheerful. They were thorough and detail oriented. We are a busy family of four, with two small children. We have used housekeepers for over eight years. During the past three years we had become very dissatisfied with our then-current housekeeping company but were hesitant to bring on a new team because of the trust that we had established with our team. After the initial Green Gals cleaning we signed up for regularly weekly cleanings and we feel like our house is getting as clean as it should have been for the past three years. Our only regret is not having switched sooner. We have only had two cleanings so far, however, we are optimistic that things will remain outstanding. read more

WOW!!!! i am so happy I choose Green Gal. I compared 4 different cleaning services which all had high yelp reviews. I was actually nervous to use GG because their price was significantly better (less) than the other companies (especially with the Yelp discount). all I can say is WOW. Aurora was great with answering my e-mails, I gave her a detailed list of what I wanted done. There were 4 ladies who showed up at my door at the EXACT time I requested! I did a walk through with them (helpful that they speak english...not a requirement for me, but my spanish sucks, so I appreciated that it was easy to communicate). And then......oh my goodness...these ladies worked so efficiently and were working so hard....i did not hear them say a word to each other the entire time. They were like machines! I can not believe how much my house sparkles. I just wish I had more cash on hand so I could have given them a bigger tip. I really look forward to using them again. I am so happy with how my home looks. read more
