This Green District location seems hellbent on vaporizing the term "fast casual" from the American…read morelexicon. Because "fast" is an unknown word at this place. The good first, though: Whatever the flaws in its business model, Green District still turns out well-conceptualized salads that always seem fresh and tasty. The Hide & Go Greek is a very nice chicken one with a robust, terrific dressing. The Thai One On salad is (you guessed it) an Asian-influenced one with shrimp, lots of cabbage and cilantro, and a kind of generic but fresh-tasting Asian-style ginger-heavy dressing. Also very good. Fortunate thing you can order online and don't have to verbalize those unwieldy salad names to a fellow human. (But if you think those names are bad, another one wants you to hold its beer: the Tequila Mockingbird.). Anyway, the food gets this to three stars, but only barely. Alas, the service at this location is a shambles. Count on at least a 35-minute wait, even if you order right after 11am, when things presumably ought not to be backed up. And it looks like chaos back there--just not enough employees back there, most likely. Last time it took this restaurant an incomprehensible 50 minutes to get my salad out. (Who with a regular lunch "hour" downtown has time for this?) Credit to the unflappable and put-upon young fella at the end of the line; he kept doing his job steadily and kept cheerful about it. The manager is always madly rushing about and isn't nearly as cheery (but it almost certainly isn't her fault, either). It astonishing that the food can be is good as it is in this environment. There's something very wrong about this restaurant's business model when the family-run lunch spot down the street (seemingly just as many orders) can crank out your to-go salad (as good as here, for the most part) in three to five minutes and be as friendly as they can be about it. Whoever came up with the plan has some major issues to resolve.

It was a nice blend of wild rice & brown rice, hummus, chopped tomato's and the tofu was nicely prepared. And although the portion size was on the small side, I liked it! My SO had the harissa salad with chicken. She said it was very good as well. The dining area was cool (on a hot day) and it's somewhat loud, especially when someone would move one of the heavy chairs. I'm certain that I'll be back to try some other salads (or maybe make my own.)

First of all, the restaurant was very clean which was impressive because I expected it to be similar to what I typically see inside Chipotle. That couldn't have been farther from the truth. Someone was even cleaning the windows while we were there and they weren't even dirty. The food was fresh, flavorful and the portion was really food for the price. We split a bowl, I only was able to eat about a quarter of it because my daughter devoured the rest. Workers were nice and very attentive. We will be back again next week.

I ordered the Bangkok, which is one of their top sellers and includes: asian cabbage, cilantro lime rice, cucumber, shredded carrots, slivered almonds, thai-style peanut sauce, spicy cashew vinaigrette, protein. and sesame seeds. The ingredients were vibrant and fresh and the peanut sauce had a wonderful tangy flavor. Currito also has smoothies and shakes.

After eating junk food for two days of the convention, my body needed a vegetable, so I went with the Silver Ladle salad. I was thankful for mixed greens instead of iceberg lettuce, and the combination of ingredients on the salad worked well together- it had the perfect amount of crunch from the almonds and creaminess from the cheese. Otherwise, Silver Ladle is very similar to a Panera Bread or Atlanta Bread Company. Since this isn't a chain, I hoped for more local and seasonal flair, but the food seemed straight from the distributor. This isn't a bad lunch spot if you're in the area for a convention or meeting- the service is quick, and you can eat outside. I wouldn't go out of the way to come here, though.

After talking to the workers we were excited to get so many items to try and we tipped 2X because we were ordering so much and there was no one else waiting since they just opened the kitchen. We tried a lot of items to see what we would enjoy. The bowl was hands down the winner. I wish it was a little more flavorful but it was a lot of food for the price. This was the only item we ate in its entirety. Also the soda was actually really good and a different taste that we both enjoyed. Overall most of the food was a little bland but decent quality. It needed more flavoring like maybe adding roasted garlic, parsley, thyme, rosemary etc or any other herbs and seasoning to keep it healthy and flavorful. Now here's the disappointing news... the sweet potato fries were overcooked, I even mentioned it to the server and they didn't offer anything so she walked away since I just left it at that. I regret not speaking up more but I had other errands to run so I let it go. I'm still shocked they served me that especially when we told them it was our 1st time and after ordering so much to support. But I could have also easily asked for another sided. Mac was not for me, they did tell us it was a queso sauce but we still wanted to try and I think a pasta salad would have been a better option. The smoothie had a strong wheat after taste but it didn't turn me off, what did turn me off was the berries didn't taste like fresh fruit, almost a little too sweet. I expected it to be brighter like a little tart and sweet but all I could taste was the wheat flavor and a chalky, sweet, artificial strawberry. Also the apple with the peanut butter dip was almost like the apple was frozen then cut up and cut to order. I really wasn't sure why it was so cold and not really as fresh. But maybe that's just me being I Honey crisp & green apples because they are hard tart apples. I wanted to give this place a chance since I'm trying to eat better but I haven't been back and probably don't plan on it . I did give me some ideas when cooking at home more so it helped me become more motivated to cook instead of eating out as restaurants.
