Have to agree with other reviewers. Called ahead and specified my needs. Made an appointment. Gal who met me, Lauren, didn't introduce herself but just barked a question about whether I filled out the prospective tenant form. I had. Clearly she had not prepped. When I told her my requirements, she started selling me on committing today. I hadn't even seen the space. When I told her I needed to know the price of the open offices, she quoted them at $500 a month. The woman who set the appointment the prior day, DeeDee, indicated there'd be desks for $299 and in the $400 range. I walked out prior to seeing the space. If the filthy common areas and bathroom, and the caliber of the staff, is any indication of GreenDesk's suitability for my business day, I'd rather continue hot desking at Regus. I'll visit AlleyNYC later today. read more

Ever seen 13 Ghosts with all those windows separating you from the actual ghosts? Well, the set-up has a very striking resemblance! This is a wonderfully awesome way to get you and your team out of the office for a meeting without breaking the bank to do it! White eraser boards, conference tables and chairs - they pretty much provide all the essentials you would need to have a meeting go from good to great! The location is fairly easy to find in the DUMBO area, and the elevator sure is helpful to help you lug your other meeting supplies. So, come explore here, and in this fish bowl-like environment, you can peak in on other companies and how they do! read more

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at Green Desk! 1. First, and the least bothersome was the fact that they don't have enough drinking water readily available for tenants. They fill a small container of water at the start of the day and rarely re-fill. By 3pm the thing is empty 2. They misplaced our mail and when we brought it to their attention, they didn't offer to help find it and basically denied receiving it (tracking info showed it was signed by a specific member of their staff) 3. They left other people's mail in our office. This shows their lack of care with handling mail. 4. They keep charging us for extra printing even though we never used their printing service. Not even once! 5. We moved out on the 5th of the month yet they charged us full months rent. After we brought it to their attention they agreed to pro-rate and return the additional charge. This was supposed to be returned along with our security deposit within 45 days. 6. 80 days later and we still haven't received our security deposit or refund from being overcharged! We have sent numerous emails and getting very nonchalant responses. Green Desk is a mess and absolutely awful! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for office space! I wish I could actually give them zero stars. read more

Have an issue with this company calling itself "Green Desk". They simply latched on to an attractive buzzword at the time of corporation. How can you position yourself as "green" and not even recycle cans and plastic...? I think it just means they are stingy with the printer. It's a fine co-working space otherwise. Doesn't come with some of the perks that more expensive ones do. Pay for that elsewhere if you want to. I've tried the DUMBO and Greenpoint locations. read more

A complete disaster in terms of customer service at the Dumbo location. And I agree with the other reviewers, it is not just one person, it is multiple, so it must be a company culture and probably a management problem, which explains why most of the office space is not rented out. Impersonal and rigid approach in dealing with customers and incompetent employees. Ended up leaving after two weeks, they made me pay for 2 extra months, 30 day notice plus an additional month because I didn't sign an end of lease form even though I sent an email stating officially that I am ending my stay by end of April. They mentioned the form in a three line unprofessional email which I never noticed and they never followed up with me knowing that I emptied my desk and never showed up all of May which I was billed for, and beginning June I received the following bill. The offices are empty so everyone knows who is in and out and no one thought about following up with me. It was my responsibility to sign the form, which is fine, but the frustrating part, was the communication with the billing department which was like talking with a brick wall- rigid, dry and void of any customer service values. So, if you are looking for a place where you receive a good customer service and you feel attended for, this is not the place. The tour guide Ashton is great and friendly and was very helpful but the general feeling I got is that the employees are unequipped to deal with any situation that is a bit out of the ordinary and I don't blame them a single bit, I blame the management. I think the management of green desk is a failure because young employees don't learn these things on their own, they need good supervisors to guide them and train them. So better get working GD supervisors! read more

We had an office at Green Desk (68 Jay) for 2 years and eventually moved out, due solely to what Ron W. described. Things at this particular location got progressively worse as far as management and maintenance after the whole ReBar debacle (tinyurl.com/jut5p9e), which occurred just a few short months after we moved in. The building's entryway and common space remained in shambles until the day we moved out, and we were unable to bring clients up, as it was too embarrassing. We also had to temporarily move offices 3 times due to a perpetually leaking A/C issue, where management refused to do anything more of a patch job each time, hence our temporarily moving several times. The floor became so warped from months of leaking, that we were unable to open, close, or lock our unit door, yet this took Green Desk management months and 3 "tries" to get it right, because they refused to do the appropriate (read: $$) work that the equipment actually required. While there are some nice tenants, there were also folks in there that had questionable business practices and behavior. For example, the man in the office directly next to us would scream and wail (yes WAIL), sobbing into the phone that he didn't steal x amount of $$ from whomever was on the other end, on a daily basis. We were actually concerned for his wellbeing, as he did not sound stable in the slightest, and people on the other end of our video conferences and phone calls could even hear him in the background. Even when we first moved into Green Desk, our neighbor hoarded plastic take-out containers and garbage on the empty desk next to him. I use the term "hoard" not for dramatic effect - the containers, newspapers and other miscellanea reached more than 2 feet above normal desk height. With only a glass wall separating you from the people next to you, and since these are supposed to be offices where small businesses and other professionals reside, it would be great if Green Desk could at least set some level of expectation and decorum for their tenants, especially when it comes to the more out-there examples I mentioned above. Other co-working spaces are more selective about their tenants in this regard, as they understandably want to ensure that both the business and the individuals are a good fit for their environment, as well as the other tenants. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for here, and management doesn't seem to be interested in anything other than collecting rent. I would look elsewhere first prior to committing. read more

You pay for what you get. This is an old building. Will you see mice? Yes. Will you see cockroaches? Yes. Do they really clean anything? No. The windows are very thin so you hear all the construction. The walls and floors are also thin so, guess what? If someone rents the space above you to shoot a music video...best believe you'll be hearing music in your office all day accompanied with whatever dance moves banging away sometimes causing dust and debris to fall onto your desk. This is all fine. I draw the line at air conditioners that don't work. You cannot rent rooms and I cannot ask my employees to come into work IF IT'S UNBEARABLE TO WORK IN THEM DUE TO THE TEMPERATURE. You know what else? You can't turn on the AC when you get to work at 9am...9:10...etc COURTNEY. The offices need to be fully air conditioned at 9am when employees come into work. If this means turning them on at 7am, this is what you have to do. I think the worst part of all of us this is the gaslighting that goes on by COURTNEY. "Oh it's on, give it time." No, they are broken and no it's not reasonable to move us four times because you can't find an office on the floor that has working AC. Actually, the worst part is COURTNEY doesn't even say "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience." No recognition that this is disrupting our business and productivity. That we have moved three times now. No, "we'll comp you a month for the trouble." Nothing. If you're a real business...go somewhere else. read more

My company rents a space at the 147 Prince St location in Brooklyn, NY. The building is in a great location. There are quite a few parking garages in the area, it's 1 and half blocks from the Dekalb Avenue train station, numerous bus lines, the Manhattan Bridge is 3 blocks away, the Brooklyn Bridge another 5 blocks, Metrotech is across the street...super convenient, right ?!?! With all of the much needed major changes in the last few years in Downtown Brooklyn, there isn't a lack of businesses in the area that will suit all of your needs whether for business or personal. My overall experience at Green Deesk has been great all due to the Building Manager Dana. She has handled all of my concerns and requests with the utmost professionalism. Dana is super attentive and a customer service pro. We had major renovations done at the bullding and on a daily basis, she did her best to try to make the days go by as smooth as possible even with the loud work going on in and around the building. The building is secure with 24/7/365 access for tenants, a cool design, many options for conference rooms, bathrooms and lounge/kitchen areas. As far as spaces- If you require a room that doesn't need ultra privacy as all spaces all completely surrounded by glass windows- I say give Dana @ Green Desk a call and she'll accomodate you. read more

This is a review for the 147 Prince street Brooklyn location. I have been a tenant here for a little over 5 years and I can say that if it wasn't for the dog friendly aspect and the awesome building manager Dana who always goes out of her way to make our stay as good as possible, I probably wouldn't be here this long. The management company is full of promises but falls short on delivering, for example - when they began construction in this location almost two years ago they moved our parking lot to a rat infested, dirt corner which was used as a toilet for the homeless for almost two years!. And if you think we got a discount on our monthly parking rate for this "minor" inconvenience you must be nuts. This pretty much sums up the Green Desk management mentality - its less about the tenants and more about how much rent and fees they can collect. However, if you are looking for a nice space but don't requite too much privacy, you don't want to break the bank & you want to meet some cool people while you rent here than Green Desk is the place for you! read more

Do not rent space here. We just had an iPad stolen from our locked office. The office was locked when we left for the weekend and locked when we arrived on Monday morning. There was no forced entry. Someone who works for the company must have taken the item, or they irresponsibly do not collect keys from previous renters. Either way, the company is responsible for this theft. If you want to be able to leave anything of value behind, find another space to rent. read more

Do not use them. They made a mistake when they explained to me how they pro-rate the month, and they refused to rectify it when i explained it to them. They also took stuff off the deposit they should not have. I could not implore you more to not use this place. They will rip you off somehow. read more

The best deal in town. I occupy space at two locations Dumbo and Williamsburg. Where else can you find an affordable opportunity like this in the hottest neighborhoods. Electric and internet included...Not only office space but retail space too. All of you artisans are missing out. I did not have the same experience as those who have spoken about their customer service. It was a great experience with a staff...They keep in touch with me until the right space came along which only took about 8 weeks lucky me! Could be lucky you... read more

We have been renting an office from Green Desk on 147 Prince Street for the past 4 years. It is a great location, a block away from Decalb Avenue R/Q train station and close to Fulton Street shopping area. There are plenty of spots to go out and grab lunch or just to walk around at the Forth Green Park which is only a few blocks away. City Point Center is going to be down the block across the street with a huge food market, movie theatre and more shopping spots. The building location is great and Dana the building manager is amazing! She is always accommodating, very helpful, and very easy to deal with. Even when she is busy with paper work, tours, and daily maintenance of the building I have never felt neglected by her. Green Desk is pet friendly so we don't have to leave our furry friends at home anymore which is another plus for us. read more

Our office has been here just a few months but I already love the space. The building manager, Sasha, is the best! She made us feel welcomed from the second we walked in and is always making sure we have everything we need and is always bubbly. The space itself is spacious and clean and the views are awesome, plus they are a dog friendly building which is fun! I'm so glad our office moved to this space! read more

I was the first (or second, depending on who you ask) tenant at 147 Prince Street. The building has its ups and downs for sure. The construction, now finished, was brutal. It doesn't help that Prince Street doesn't actually exist here anymore. Would be so much easier if they gave us a Flatbush Ave. address. But I am still a big fan. I get absolutely great value. My rent is cheap and it covers phones, conference room time and copies. The location is great for me, because it is right near the Brooklyn courts. I can pass the saving on my overhead back to my clients and offer reduced fees, which makes me more competitive. But, the best part for me is Dana, 147's Office Manager. It is not an easy job to be an office manager in a building under construction. I have watched Dana take a lot of crap for things out of her control and she has always taken it in stride. I never get why people yell and scream at the office manager (or clerk, or janitor) for things outside of their control. I have seen it happen too many times here, but Dana always takes it in stride. Like any building, there are plenty of things to complain about. But in my five years, I have never had a complaint about Dana. Dana plays by a very simple rule. Treat her with respect and she will move mountains for you. I remember during the worst of the construction, there would be days when I was trying to use the phone and I could not even hear because the jackhammer was so loud. I would go down to politely complain to Dana, who would empathize with me, but tell me there was nothing she could do about it. Lo and behold, 20 minutes later she would pop into my office to tell me the jackhammers would remain off until after 5pm. There are two things that keep me at Green Desk. The unbelievable value, and Dana. If either disappeared, I think I would too. read more

*** I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO STAY CLEAR OF GREEN DESK IF YOU VALUE YOUR COMPANIES IMAGE AND MORAL*** We were in the Green Desk space for 6 months whilst we were waiting for our real offices to be completed and the experience was terrible. The noise level from other tenants was bad, the internet was less than functional, the air conditioning was poor, the toilets were disgusting and always flooded and the management were rude, unprofessional and cheap. Since the closure of Rebar, which is one of the main entrances to the green desk space, their old space has become a mess of trash and a home for anyone who wanders in off the street, putting our office and staff security at risk. The management did nothing to resolve this issue. I strongly believe that our time spent in this space reflected badly on the image of our companies and effected the moral of our staff. We were so happy to get out. Please don't take my word for it, visit the place and ask any current tenant that has been there for more than a couple of months and i am sure they will have a bad story to tell. read more

Rent is affordable and the staff is great. Ashley is very responsive to all the needs of the entire building, and the IT guy Ben is super fast and helpful whenever you need any computer set up or any tech assistance. What stops me from giving this a full 5 stars is the seemingly lack of communication and poor management related to the constant construction going on in the building. Hopefully this issue will be relieved once construction is finished. read more

We love green desk. One of the things we love the most is our building manager Martika! She is so welcoming & rad, she makes us feel as if what we have to say matters. The other thing we could not live without, are our floor mates. There is incredible camaraderie with the other companies and the environment is really friendly. green desk is also a pet friendly office space which is essential for us. We bring our amazing dog Willie to work & he brightens up everyone's day. Claudia just takes care of all the common spaces & makes everything just so. What a sweetie. Thank you Dumbo green desk! read more

I've been renting at Green Desk for about 4 years now at the 147 Prince street location in downtown Brooklyn. The company is disorganized and does not provide a good option for a growing businesses to expand with in Greendesk intself. With that said, the building manager at 147 Prince is the reason GreenDesk still has my business. Any time there was an issue, Dana was and still is the best problem solver! She is an easy going, fast to act and always accommodating to the tenants. read more
