I've been coworking here for the past few months and have had a wonderful experience! I'm on their most lightweight plan (floating desk, $500/mo), which has worked well for our team of 2. The WiFi has been reliable and they have a lot of conference rooms to hold meetings. I look forward to their continental breakfast every morning (croissants, bagels, overnight oats, hard boiled eggs), and their afternoon snacks (pumpkin pie, brownies, etc). The interior is spacious and decorated with a lush array of plants, which helps get the creative juices flowing. Unlimited coffee and tea is also a great perk. Lots of food options nearby too. They have co-ed bathrooms which was a little strange at first but you quickly get used to it. read more

Let me say, its a beautiful space, however, huge huge AVOID. Whoever their front desk person is, well, she is probably the worst person ive experienced in a long time. It seems like everyone at Brass Factory feels the same. I have never met a more unprofessional, rude, and strange person in my life. Im not going to be moving forward with my membership. I would never bring a client or investor here, because this person is so unbelievably unprofessional. She is terrible, truly truly terrible, and is rude to pretty much everyone, she has yelled at other members and more than one person who has done a tour has withdrawn their membership because of her terrible behavior. read more

I've been at The Brass Factory for a while now and it's honestly the best coworking space I've been in. The vibe is relaxed but super productive, the community is great, and the space itself is beautiful--lots of light and plants everywhere. The amenities are a huge plus: fast Wi-Fi, comfy meeting rooms, phone booths, and plenty of spots to hunker down. Also, the snacks and breakfast spread are clutch--coffee, pastries, and little treats that make the day better. Can't recommend it enough. read more

I worked on and off at the Brass Factory for years and had a very bad experience, mostly toward the end of my time there. Brass Factory's internet quality is very bad. I was frequently unable to make meetings and had lots of dropped calls. This is a common complaint of many people in the space. I recommend you take a tour and ask anyone in the right-half of the space - everyone will corroborate this. What spoiled my experience the most was that the management was aggressive and frequently made me uncomfortable. Ask about the time the owner was arrested and taken out in handcuffs . One member in particular has aggressive, confusing behavior and would make verbal slights to me regularly. Many times they made my guests feel unwelcome, relentlessly insisting they sign up for a monthly desk, hovering and not going away (one friend politely declined, they asked how much his apartment rent is and ultimately made him feel stupid because it wasn't very high, I think? I have many stories like this). At some point that same member of management must have developed a personal vendetta toward me. I'm not sure why and, believe me, I've thought about this very much, but I've seen them do this to others. It culminated in my last day in the space where, in front of many other members, screamed "YOU CAN GET THE F*** OUT!!" and then awkwardly stood over my desk, intimidating me, as I collected my things. It was terrible. Of course I did nothing to deserve this (was never disrespectful or troublesome), but this is consistent with the experiences of most people at the Brass Factory (again, during your tour please pull anyone aside and ask for an honest opinion about the management. You'll see what I mean!). Lastly, I don't trust the management with security deposits. On one occasion I was canceling my desk for three months while traveling and they refused to give it to me until I asked three or four times. My most recent security deposit was only given to me after multiple emails asking for it and 60 days (was only supposed to take 30). I recommend working anywhere else. read more

The Brass Factory is *such* a special place. I found it only a short time after my move to NYC, and it's truly become my second home. The people are friendly, engaging, and interesting - I've made many close friends by striking up conversations while grabbing coffee. Outside of it being an outstanding community, the space is stunning. It's got a plant-shrowded, incredibly lit, daylight-streaming-in, lovely decor vibe while somehow managing zero pretension. Walking in is just one giant exhale. It's gorgeous. Lastly, management works hard to make sure everything runs smoothly. Everyone is known on a first-name basis; if I need anything, I know exactly who to ask. It's a cozy, unique, personable space. I just moved to New York and The Brass Factory has been an incredibly welcoming home away from home! The environment is sun drenched with tons of natural light and plants everywhere. The location is amazing and I am so grateful this is the working environment I get to come to 5 days/week. Alice is delightful - she's curated a kind, collaborative community of people and is always making introductions among members. I've worked out of WeWorks across the US & internationally and it wasn't until coming to Brass Factory that I truly felt like I had experienced the community-based benefits of a co-working environment. **TL;DR:** Overall, it's a pleasant place to work. But, I'm giving it 2 stars due to consistently laggy internet for video calls and poor customer service, especially if you're not in the manager's good books. I spent a full year at Brass. The place is spacious, bathed in natural light, and the presence of plants everywhere makes it feel welcoming. The morning snacks are a bonus. I've met a lot of amazing people here, some of whom have become my friends. Despite these positives, the space lacks one crucial component: reliable internet! Since February of this year, the internet has been consistently poor. The manager has consulted with a few different internet experts during this period, so I recognize her efforts. Yet, the situation never improved. On the few occasions I raised my concerns, I almost felt like I was at fault for complaining (??). The manager would suggest the issue was with my laptop, or my desk location, or advise me to use the conference rooms with hard-wired connections (which, by the way, aren't always reliable). It became a running joke among a few of us that every time someone posted on our Slack channel about the poor wifi, the post would mysteriously vanish (aka deleted). We would call it "wifi censorship." Over time, the atmosphere turned sour. When I tried to leave due to the unsatisfactory internet, the manager insinuated legal action if I didn't adhere to the 30-day termination notice (even tho good internet should be basics for any coworking space). Wanting to avoid further hassle, I complied. The manager then promised to install a hard-wire connection at my desk, but when I didn't retract my termination, the manager denied ever making that offer. Overall, my take through my experience (and a bunch of others) is if you somehow aren't liked by the manager, you will end up experiencing a weird vibe. And there are other google/yelp reviews that seem to show this as well. That said, if your work is more asynchronous, or you only have occasional video calls, you might not face these issues. If that sounds like you, then Brass might be a suitable workspace. read more

I was a member for 1.5+ years. At one point, it was a good work place to go to then people started leaving for a variety of reasons. Good location, near the water.. In the last 6 months, I know of several people who have left because the internet, problems with the front desk person, and other problems with the workspace. People were dropping calls left and right. They tried to fix the problem but it kept happening which made it nearly impossible to get work done, given the number of dropped calls. Several people I know left for this reason, and I know this was a constant point of discussion in the office. I've seen the front desk person have several shouting matches with members. The last thing anyone needs is to feel like they're in an unsafe working environment. I would NOT recommend Brass Factory to anyone. There are cheaper places with higher quality internet connections. The building is old, and I think internet will continue being problem for them. This is a no-go for me. read more

If you are a startup founder avoid the brass factory. The internet issues which have continued for multiple years and the threatening behavior of one member of staff to many members mean that you cannot provide your team a safe and productive working environment. This member of staff, she is likely the one who will give the tour, and will seem really nice but do not trust it. It's so sad, the space is amazing and it tours really well but please please avoid. And if you do decide to join, document and screenshot all the reported issues on the internet etc and store them in your own document. Great space! We looked at several co-working places, and were shocked at the tiny veal fattening pens with no windows they wanted to put us in. Here, for the same price, we get a larger space with tons of light (it's inside an old brass factory, hence the name), huge open floorplan and industrial/creative vibe. It reminds me of some of the co-working spaces in San Francisco, without the annoying "tech bros." Free snacks (Rice Krispie treats!), clean bathrooms, friendly and interesting "co-workers," and excellent location. What more can you ask for? They also host social events from time to time, like music concerts (after hours so not to disturb people trying to work) and happy hours. read more

Awesome atmosphere and community! After checking out other co-working spaces in the neighborhood I visited The Brass Factory and was instantly taken with the vibe. The space is huge, filled with lush greenery and has great hospitality and amenities. I signed up for a dedicated desk which I found to be the best price compared to other spaces. I find my work day to be highly productive with out a stressy feeling. They also have enough space to get up and stroll around or sit in the lounge area for a break. Love the member mix. I often find mingling with co-workers there's always someone you can run something by...great network and friendly peeps. Great place, super convenient and awesome staff. read more

Absolutely beautiful co-working space that really feels like a community. Coming here was a lifesaver during COVID - instead of being stuck in a tiny shoebox I got a dedicated desk in a well-lit, plant-filled area. Beat out WeWork, The Yard, and Bond Collective - each of those were more expensive, had significantly less (or no) light/windows, and had an irritating conference room credit system. Brass Factory is unlimited. Also - a bonus - you can get packages delivered, has bike storage, and the manager is there everyday and is super friendly, helpful, and knows everyone by their first name! read more
