Had a coworking membership here for about 2 months. The community managers, Keira and Savannah, were warm, helpful, and efficient from Day 1 when checking out the space. The janitorial staff were also kind and kept the space nice and tidy. Favorite thing about the membership I opted for is that I had 24/7 access. The space itself features two different floors, each offering an open coworking space along with a few private phone booths to take calls. Other highlights: coffee, water, tea, cereal, and light snacks are also included. There's also 4 monthly community events offered as well. Nothing but good things to say. Would definitely be back if in the area again. read more

I cannot say enough great things about The Commons Co-working space on the Upper East Side. From the moment I joined, the experience was exceptional. Keira and Savannah are always so kind, courteous, friendly, and professional. They go above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming, and well-run environment. The Commons strikes the perfect balance of feeling peaceful while still being busy and bustling, giving you just the right energy to stay focused and productive. There's a real sense of momentum and motivation in the air that makes it easy to get into a good workflow. The space is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of outlets and a variety of seating options to suit different working styles. I didn't use the private meeting rooms, but I had only positive experiences with the other members -- everyone is friendly, quiet, and respectful, really honoring the unspoken rules of shared workspaces. I chose the unlimited access membership, and it was absolutely worth it -- though honestly, the 4th floor alone is incredible. There's also a wonderful sense of community. They host regular networking events, and both activity and food centered events as well, giving you plenty of opportunities to connect with others who work from there. This is a wonderful space to work. They have an amazing and professional community set up; always keeping the member's camaraderie and comfort in mind. There is a group puzzle for when you need to take a break, diverse work areas for you to choose your most productive environment, and an amazing staff that is attentive and kind to all the members. I have loved getting to work here for the past 2 years! The location is near many different forms of public transportation and good places to eat. The Commons is a fantastic place to get work done away from home and office. I rented a designated desk for about a year to work remotely and write my dissertation. It was helpful to have a locking file cabinet, bulletin board, and a place to leave things out on breaks. While I was there 6 days a week, often working late into the night, the internet was always reliable, the printers always functional, the facilities consistently very clean and well-appointed. They have excellent conference rooms with whiteboards, too. All staff- Savannah, Hedy, maintenance workers, and security- are kind, professional, and excellent. I worked there late at night many Saturdays and never once felt unsafe. There are opportunities to build community and network with others if you have the interest and bandwidth to do so (as a mom, PhD candidate and working professional, I just didn't, but it is so lovely that Savannah and Hedy make space for that and work at it.) I still cowork there about once a week on a day pass, as I have returned to in-person work for most of my professional duties. I find the daypass is a much better value than camping out at a random Starbucks- I appreciate the ergonomic chairs, kitchen access, plentiful outlets, and endless free coffee/water. While I no longer need the hours and access that I once did, I still very much appreciate this space to be productive, away from my kid and interruptions from my boss (!). The coworkers are considerate and professional, too. Highly recommended! read more

The Commons is a GREAT uptown option for any freelancer/remote employee! For starters, it's incredible easy to get to since it's located on 86th Street between Lexington & 3rd Avenues. So it's accessible via the 4/5/6 & Q lines as well as the crosstown M86 bus. The space itself is very open, bright (courtesy of killer skylights that span the stretch of the ceiling), and friendly. There are open desks available, a lounge area with comfy seating to work from, a stocked kitchen with a fridge to keep your food, and a quieter loft area in case you really need to concentrate and focus. They also have a few private phone booths in case you need to take/make a call or even a video chat. I've also found their rates to be really reasonable, especially considering the fact that they're the only co-work space truly on the UES (and not Midtown West). The manager, Sasha, is very friendly and welcoming and she does a great job making sure everything is tidy & organized. On top of all that, the space is never overcrowded! People come and go as they please, but there is never this sense of the space being overwhelmed with people. Even on the busy days. Absolutely great service, I run a dog Walking and cat sitting service. We love the space it's always clean and quiet . Perfect for our clients, great meeting spaces for our team members, and private interview spaces. The amenities are great too, free printing , wifi and an accessible kitchen whenever we need a quick tea or coffee break. I had a private office at the Commons for two years out of which I operated as an outpost of my Midwest-based law firm after relocating to New York for family reasons. It was perfect for my situation. The facilities and technology infrastructure are top notch and, more importantly, the support services are fantastic. Awesome co-working space on the much neglected Upper East Side. I have a "9-5" job, but I use the space to work on side projects and tasks. Dan, Nick and the rest of the Commons team did not disappoint, offering excellent service, a clean and beautiful space brightly lit with skylights, and all the perks (coffee, beer, mingling events, fresh fruit) that one could expect from a top tier coworking space. Best yet, it's at a price that's lower than other coworking spaces I've experienced. Different types of work areas and option plans means everyone can figure out a way to be more productive.
