I was so happy when last year I found out about Jackie's Empanadas On the Go! I immediately placed an order and went to pick up my empanadas from their kitchen in Stamford (not a front store). I ordered frozen empanadas to stock up my freezer. They came with baking instructions and they came out perfect! I loved her empanadas but driving almost 1 hour from New Haven is not something I can do often. Last week, planning for Thanksgiving dinner, we decided to order empanadas again. I ordered online and I contacted Jackie to arrange pick up and luckily she was going to be in a holiday market in Westport that weekend, so she offered me to pick up there, saving me some driving time. We ordered Mushroom, Caprese, Ham & Cheese, Beef Malbec and Knife-Cut Steak. They were all a success! Our guests loved them! Also, when I went to pick up the empanadas, I bought a box of Alfajores de maicena (cornstarch cookie sandwich filled with dulce de leche) and a box of Medialunas (Argentinian croissants). The steak was tender, but unfortunately underwhelming lacking juicy flavor and definitely not worth the premium price. Next, from "Limesalt" I got a burrito noticeably stingy with the guacamole. Both dishes portions and preparation didn't match the cost. The dining area struck me as uncomfortably hot and stuffy. There was no noticeable air circulation, which made sitting there feel oppressive. Despite the presence of ordering kiosks, I had to place my order online in order to apply the discount code. When I came to pick up our order, the staff seemed confused; I had to show my order number before they retrieved it, which was less than smooth. The seating space itself is quite limited, just a handful of small tables, so don't plan on lounging or lingering.

My client is diabetic so ordering and reordering is easy thanks to this. There is a fair range of selections of entrees in the way of protein and vegetable sides. The meal portions are maybe slightly bigger than a lean cuisine so it may not be for everyone as those portions can be a bit meager. I had one of the meals that my client didn't want - pork tenderloin, carrots, and string beans. I heated it in the oven as recommended and the pork was not bad, nor were the beans. They went a bit heavy on the carrots though. This is only one meal of many however and my client overall has a favorable opinion of them, his favorite being the "American glazed meatloaf" Top Chef has come through in a big way for me with delivering about 2 weeks worth of meals for my client that come about three days after ordering it (If it isn't before the weekend). With the rising popularity of heat and eat and fast prep meal kits, like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron and more this is great for elderly, disabled or otherwise, perhaps people who have next to no time to cook. with a nice selection, good packaging, quick delivery and even a senior discount I'm very satisfied with Top Chef Meals.

Asked for s'mores was told they were out, explained the girl telling us they were out because it was "almost closing time" the night before and the guy said "no we're completely out not just for the night." Asked for a different cookie and were told they were out again. The guy seemed very interested in providing any help the entire time and seemed bored. Third time: went at 8pm, cashier named Daveena. Asked if they were out of anything, was told no. Awesome first cookie (oatmeal chocolate walnut) I tried to order "we're actually out of that" ok how about capt crunch? "No that's limited time and it's not the time" oh alright how about chocolate PB? "We have that but it's in the oven and will be about 5 mins" "ok no problem" I pay, she goes in the back and doesn't come back for 25 mins. At this point I'm frustrated because she tells me they aren't out of anything but the first two things I try to order they're out of and 5 mins is not even close to the same as 25. If she told me 25 minutes I wouldn't have bought the cookie.
