Front Page Restaurant & Lounge is one of the newer restaurants in the area and definitely one of the cleanest. They serve Caribbean Jamaican cuisine and is located just under the end of the 2 train in the Bronx. I've driven by the restaurant a couple times but never stopped in because to 241st and the other side of White Plains Rd past the train station is not one of the safest areas.
One morning my husband comes in with breakfast - Ackee and salt fish, cornmeal porridge, chicken backs and fried dumplings with an array of juices for us to enjoy. I spent plenty of time picking meat off the chicken backs for my two year old who still learning to use his words but kept saying "Yum Yum" for more. Everything was delicious.
A few days later I asked my husband where he got the food from because I was craving the flavors again. My initial visit was nice. Friendly service and the prices are clearly listed and they give good size portions. They have a cute juice bar off to the side and fridge filled with Jamaican treats. I came for dinner so I got jerk chicken fried rice with brown stew chicken and steam veggies. Again delicious and I will be back.
Great place, I give it 4 stars - I subtracted 1 star purely for the location but if you could drop this restaurant in a better area it would easily be 5 stars. I can't wait to taste more from here! read more
