Now looking at the mixed reviews I know we got lucky. I wasn't even involved in this NCF (No Cook Friday), finding a restaurant as well as the ordering process. Completely surprised by the outcome, especially as this was an Uber Eats order. I was shocked and happy by the amount of food received, which turned out to be more than enough to last a few days. The Rice and Peas were fresh in a good way. Only thing is I could've used more gravy on the rice. The Oxtails were tender and seasoned properly. Tasted a little of the Jerk Pork and they were also tender with that smoky Jerk Spice. Considering this delivery came all the way from Mount Vernon, I have to give them five stars. Will order again. Been here more than a handfull of times over the years. Consistently delicious Jamaican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This was my first time getting food from here. I have to admit that it was slim pickings, during one of the hottest days of the summer to note. Everyone and their parents must have ditched cooking indoors, because everywhere we went, they were out of everything or there was some insane wait for takeaway. My parents asked me to take a trip and get some food for them. We're Jamaican, so naturally, I asked if they would like some jerk chicken. As we went on the search, several of our regular spots were either our of jerk or the wait was ridiculous. After a quick search, Yelp brgout us to nearby CB's and it was like a Jamaican flag to freedom when we rolled up. They were out of most things but they did have jerk chicken and rice. The ordering system is not the best. They ask your name but then they don't call it out when your food is ready. It's weird. We ordered two large plates of jerk chicken and white rice because I was unsure of the portion size. They're huge. So much so, that we ended up leaving one container for my parents to share and we took the rest home for ourselves. The rice was kind of dry but I'll chalk that up to ordering late. The chicken was nice and smoky. You can taste the grill on it. We got their hot jerk sauce on the side and it is amazing. I don't think I've had anything like it - it's like a jerk BBQ sauce. We asked for hot and it did not disappoint, with just the right amount of heat to be enjoyable, but palatable enough that your tastebuds still work after eating. I want that's sauce in a bottle, no joke. My kiddo loved their space and the huge Jamaican flag mural on the wall adjacent to their landing spot. The food was prepared quickly and they're nearby. I would love to stop by again and see how they fair when they're not out of food items and the food is fresher. read more

First off, it's a two mobile truck type operation on a lot shared with, or next to a car wash. I have memories of a gas station being there in my youth- though I am not 100% sure about that. Off to the side there appeared to be space to gather and eventually perhaps to eat- though all I saw was one chair and a water bottle next to it. We ordered the jerk chicken, jerk pork, BBQ ribs, plantains and festival. I must say the chicken was juicy, as was the pork. The festival was tasty, as was the order of plantains- though visually they weren't pretty.at all. The ribs? Never made it into my bag- and by the time I discovered this i was already home. Overall I'd give the place a thumbs up despite the girl taking our order constantly being distracted- though she was pleasant enough, and part of my order missing. I will return. My advice is to compare your order to your receipt before walking away. Other than that- enjoy your food! read more

We literally went to THREE Jamaican restaurants before we decided to try this food truck. Although we couldn't see the food before ordering like in the other places, this truck had a line of people waiting and to me that's a good sign. There weren't any prices posted but there was a sign of what food they had to offer. We ordered two trays of oxtails with peas & rice. We were disappointed they were out of cabbage and serving some sort of salad and we opted out of that. We also ordered a jerk chicken combo with pea & rice. I was given the option for mild or hot sauce to come on it or on the side. There were a few people in front of us but the line moved quickly. Once we got into the food at home we realized the oxtails were really good and tender! BUT SPICY! The Jerk chicken was like a grilled jerk with no spice to it all but that "hot sauce" is crazy spicy! It wasn't giving jerk vibes to me but the chicken was juicy and the skin had a good texture. read more

We ordered a bunch of items via UberEats for our group while we hung out at a nearby brewery and listened to music. Although everything tasted great, they made many mistakes packing our order. 1. Instead of Stew Peas (or our vegetarian friend) they sent an entire container packed with chicken! 2. Instead of Curry chicken for my honey (who specifically said he'd eat anything but goat), they sent Curry Goat. 3. We ordered the Jerk chicken with bread. No bread was sent. 4. We paid for the "extra sauce", No sauce was sent. And as you know, when it's a take out order, you're not going back to get the things they screwed up on. So although it was a 5 for taste, they need to tighten up their takeout system. That was disappointing. read more

Food was decent but I've had better out in Jamaica, queens. Jerk chicken was moist, but lacked the kick I know it to have. Festival was very dense and peas and rice were rather dry, even with gravy poured over. It's a popular spot, but when you know better you do better. I did appreciate the tables to the side. I drove past this truck a few weeks ago and smelled such delicious bbq that I knew I had to try them out. Now I'm not much of a jerk chicken lover, however, I do LOVE oxtails so that's what I had. They were delicious! A little spicy but not overly so and very tender (alot of places oxtails are tough). The plaintains were good as well. The only downside is that I asked for extra gravy and received a lot of rice with very little gravy which was disappointing. I did enjoy my meal and I will definitely go back. read more

Food is not bad but had issues with catering. There was a mix up with what could be done. Ordered macaroni and was told I could pick up at 12 next day. Next day comes, I'm informed macaroni wasn't able to be prepped by 12. They said they were "looking for me" (whatever that means) to notify me but I had left. Delicious jerk and best oxtail I've had in a very long time. A very unassuming truck but pull up to it and you will smell the smoke right away. We've only come a few times but always very satisfied with the food and the portions. Great value for your money. And definitely order the oxtail as it is amazing! I can see what others are saying but the cashiers have always been pleasant with me; however, I have only noticed them give attitude or slick comments to those that give it to them first. They are well organized with the number system and pick up window. The reason this is not. 5 star is because the food is not fresh, tastes good but the chicken skin is not crisp. I really wish they had an option to throw the chicken back on the grill for a few to crisp it up. Flavors are decent. One of the best places in the neighborhood so far for a good all around meal.
