The flavors are authentic, and every meal we've had has been amazing. The portions are just right, and their freshly made nachos are one of our favorites. The chips are crisp, the toppings are generous, and everything tastes so fresh. The restaurant is cute and cozy, but seating is limited, so we order takeout quite often. The good news is that the food travels really well and tastes just as great when we get it home. If you're looking for fresh, flavorful Mexican food, this place is definitely worth a visit! This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During…read moremy first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

Delicious freshly prepared Birria beef tacos with rice and beans!…read more Came here after listening to a band performing at Tara's bar across the street. It was after midnight and the food came out quickly after I ordered. But not before I had a shot of tequila and a delicious Mexican beer I hadn't tried before called "Victoria" (see pics for the label on the bottle) Service was good! Place is small but has big character inside. Seems Iike any time of day is a really good time to order freshly prepared authentic Mexican food here. Buen provecho!!! Buon Appetito!!

I recently ordered from Mesa Maya and I have to say--it was definitely worth the wait…read more The delivery took a little longer than the estimated time, but once I took that first bite, I completely forgot about it. I ordered the birria tacos and they were so good. The tortillas were soft with just the right amount of crisp, giving that perfect texture. The beef was incredibly well-marinated--so tender it practically felt like it would fall off the bone if there was one. And let's talk about the consommé... perfectly seasoned, rich, and garnished just right. It really brought everything together and elevated the whole experience. If you're debating whether to try them--do it. Just maybe order a little earlier if you're hungry

Recommend with no reservations…read more Came to Tako on a recommendation from a friend. I had not heard of this spot. It's on my radar in a big way now. We had the chicken and pastor burritos, and chorizo tacos. Loved the burritos. Tons of flavor - both had char-broiled flavor to them. Very filling with nice sauces and black beans and yellow rice on the side. Fantastic burritos. Great taste great value - getting them the next time I'm back. Also had the Chorizo tacos. Really liked them. The chorizo was a little salty for my liking- still very flavorful. And in general, 3 tacos for me doesn't fill me up. So for value, I'm going to stick to burritos. Service was fast. Was there on a Saturday evening. No wait. Order was taken and ready to go in 5 minutes. The service was notably friendly as well. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I'm excited to know about Tako. I'll be back.
