I have purchased a few times from this location and I feel food quality is going down. 2nd time getting al pastor and they have no flavoring.. unless you doused the tacos in sauce. Came by here for a chicken burrito before going to work. It was not bad for the price. A simple, home style burrito filled lots of rice and beans, some chicken, a little lettuce and guacamole. They have online ordering which I utilized to cut down on the wait time. I had 4 tacos; al pastor, steak, carne enchilada and shrimp, simply dressed with onions and cilantro. They were very tasty on their own, and the reddish sauce on the side added a flavorful kick. The price was a little higher than what I expected, $17 for 4 tacos, but I was satisfied. I opted not to get a burrito because I read in multiple reviews that they're heavy on the rice, but that may be a better value for a dinner meal in the future. Will definitely return! read more

No it wasn't all for me! lol I found all the dishes very good, great flavor and portions; with the exception of the Burrito - The ratio of rice to beans and meat was overwhelming. This place by far has some of the best Mexican food in the area and there's quite a few to choose from, but this place was really on point for me. To start, there was the complimentary chips and salsa, I know it's just salsa but, it was fresh with a nice kick and the chips were freshly made. I ordered some tacos before my entree and they were absolutely phenomenal! They give you an option to have homemade tortillas for an additional charge instead of the commercial store bought ones and let me say, they were the best I've ever tasted. They really made a difference in the flavor. For my entree, I ordered the Molé Poblano. The flavor of their Molé was ridiculously good! The dish comes with rice and beans but, I opted only for the beans which had great flavor as well. And they also give you their homemade tortillas. And if you like spicy ... I ordered $79 worth of tacos from this restaurant to be delivered, and when I received my order, I noticed that my shrimp tacos were incomplete. Everyone knows shrimp is more expensive than chicken or beef, so it was actually really irritating to know that I only had 2 SHRIMPS IN EACH TACO. We ordered from Metate 2 via Seamless on Sunday night, despite poor reviews and many complaints about their delivery service being late or not showing at all. We waited about 30 minutes past the stated delivery window (1 hour) before calling to find out where the food was. The woman on the phone said she would check and call us back. We waited 10 minutes without a call back and finally called again. At this point, she stated the driver was 5 minutes away. So we waited another 20 minutes and when the driver didn't show, called again. This time, she said that they would have to "remake" our order and asked if we were willing to wait. Since we had already waited 2 hours and it was nearly 10pm, I told her to cancel the order and prepared to write a scathing review. However, a few minutes later I got a text apologizing and offering to refund our money and remake the order the following night and send it for free. Someone on Seamless had commented that this had happened to them, so I wasn't really counting on getting the food, but I played along and texted back that that would be fine, then texted again on Monday night to let them know I was home and that they could send the order any time. To my surprise, I received a text back saying "ok, enjoy," and about 40 minutes later the food showed up! We ordered a selection of tacos (chorizo, lengua and al pastor), a quesadilla and carne enchilada Mexicano, a spicy pork dish. The spicy pork didn't arrive - they sent a dry piece of grilled beef instead, which was not great (not sure which entree on the menu it was supposed to be, either). However, the tacos and quesadilla were all quite good. The quesadilla had a lot of grilled onions and peppers in it, which I wasn't expecting but did enjoy (husband would have preferred more cheese and less veg), and came with a small container of very good guacamole. Tacos were generously filled and the fillings were all tender and flavorful, but I would advise paying the upcharge for lettuce, tomato and crema, as they were a little dry without. They sent a couple of sauces (mild green and spicy red) that definitely helped. Anyway, the food was good enough that I would give them another shot, and I did really appreciate them making good on their promise to redeliver our food. I believe they are a fairly young restaurant so hopefully they will get their delivery issues worked out soon. I wish I could not give them a star at all. The person who answered the phone was rude and outrageously disrespectful. I have been a long time customer and work in the Yonkers area for over 12 years. I had an issue about shortage in change (which btw, they didn't give a receipt) and when I tried to speak to someone about it, they didn't even allow my point across, instead was hung up on. I guess restaurants like these post-COVID don't want your hard-earned money... instead, they'll steal your change and say that you're lying... so why spend it here. Go elsewhere. Had to review this cause first time i was here the food was so good, and perfect to my expectations. So i wanted to try them again because i was craving for some authentic enchiladas. But i was so disappointed :( . The food was nothing like i expected an enchilada to be for it to be a "Mexican" restaurant i would think they know how to make an enchilada. But the way it was presented was you had to make your own enchilada. rice and beans were separated, and the chicken was also separated but sooooooo greasy :(. I heard of this place from my mom and it's AMAZING! We did a delivery order of all tacos listed on the menu. Full of meat and a generous amount of salsa, onions and cilantro couldn't be better than the hand made tortillas which made it all complete. I have not found a decent tacos spot in the area and always seemed to travel to Chelsea Market in the city, I have now found something close. The tacos Pibil and Al Pastor were the ones that stood out to me. I can't wait to try out the rest of the menu.
