    Chicken burrito

Came by here for a chicken burrito before going to work. It was not bad for the price. A simple, home style burrito filled lots of rice and beans, some chicken, a little lettuce and guacamole. The flavor was decent. It was packed really nicely and had salsas on the side. The staff inside the restaurant were friendly.

Got delivery today - quick delivery, fresh ingredients, delicious! Taco salad, sope and tostada all well prepared, great taste, will definitely order again!

The delivery was on time and the food was pretty good, but $1.00 for small order of guacamole. They should specify a really really really small order of guacamole, like two spoons of guacamole small.

I found this establishment when I was in the mood for take out and found them on Grubhub but of course, I had to double check with Yelp to make sure the reviews on Grubhub was consistent my go to for a straight and unbiased take on the dishes and past guests opinions. I ordered Sope with meat (Spicy Pork), Chicken Tacos and a Steak Burrito. No it wasn't all for me! lol I found all the dishes very good, great flavor and portions; with the exception of the Burrito - The ratio of rice to beans and meat was overwhelming. I would have preferred an equal amount of the 3. other than that, delivery was relatively quick and would definitely try them again.

It took awhile for them to make my tacos but they were pretty good. My only issue with them is that the turnips tasted terrible. I'd give this place another chance though.

Not the greatest burrito I've had. I was expecting a much better experience. It took an hour and half and the food had no flavor

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

I got the chicken quesadilla which was very good, wish it had a little more spice. Husband had the mushroom tacos which alone seems more like an appetizer also needed more flavor. Vegan cheese cake was very unique option. Needed a little more sweetness.

Everything felt watery, and while I understand that some locations may cater to people who prefer milder food with more moisture, it just didn't work for me. I had the beef birria. The texture was all right, but it was very saucy without much kick. It honestly tasted more like a generic meat filling rather than something with the bold flavor I'd normally associate with birria. The rice was forgettable, there were a lot of chips, and the drinks were okay. This was just an average spot. I wouldn't come back unless they made some noticeable improvements. Maybe if you're tired and just need a quick pit stop, it could work as a one-time group experience.

I think they may have added the cilantro cream sauce because I mentioned it after I saw it listed for another dish on the menu - not sure if it's usually on there - but was a great addition and would recommend. The whole dish was tasty. I did notice on the menu that their drinks are on the pricy side - 14 for a piña colada, for instance. This dissuaded me from getting one. Feels a bit unreasonable to have drinks and entrees be similar prices. The waiter was attentive and efficient. The environment is casual, relaxed, yet festive. Great place to go to wind down a week.
