Yuck - I'm getting so annoyed at these places. I wanted to say something else. But this is PG13, how do you mess up enchiladas? Well ask this restaurant. Beans gross, ground beef awful, and you can taste the 8 day old oil they use to cook their tortilla chips, that aren't even complimentary. I understand things have gone down since the pandemic, but this place was gross. The seats had food on them, little flies and bugs around. This isn't even a bigger issue than the food being ridiculously gross. I should have just gone to Taco Bell; at least their ground beef is flavored in an edible manner. Never again. read more

Day1 : Dine In: On Labor Day, after picking up a friend from Ct, we stopped at R.G. For the 1st time. We walked in, even though we booked a RSVP in case, if it's was a busy night. The ceviche was made fresh with fresh seafood , cleaned well , freshly chopped ingredients. The guacamole made in front of you, with baked tortillas. Delicious! Our entree was the seafood meal, and the enchiladas, very good, with good portions. We loved it! . Drinks: frozen margaritas and sangrias , so good made us tipsy! The desert was the chocolate cake. So fluffy and tasteful. The restaurant is big, has live bang section and bar. It good for dates, gathering with friends and parties family friendly. We had a great experience and will go back for taco Tuesday. Plenty parking in front. Day2 : Take Out : I ended up going back to R.G. For taco Tuesday, 10 appetizer size taco for 30 bucks. Not bad, the shrimp quesadillas another good dish. Must try the pina colada in the pineapple . Til next time!! The food was good. I ordered a cheese dish, and a guy came out of the back to make it in front of the table, which was pretty cool. He was very skilled at preparing the cheese sauce and divvying it up onto the plate. I also got the wings, which were quite tasty. The rest of the service could have been better. This was my favorite local Mexican and I decided not to return after they took away the free chips and salsa, rice and beans on the side and live singers that's are too loud. I have been to Mexican restaurants all over and it's the first one that charges for the chips. The live music on Friday nights (not sure on Sat) is very loud which makes it difficult to talk - even if you're seated in the back. My review is solely based on these three things that changed. Hosted my aunt's 70th birthday dinner here for a group of 15, and we had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious with generous portions, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The ambiance was exactly what we wanted for a celebration--festive, welcoming, and full of good energy. I order a beer and the attached pic is what I got..looks like it spent 5 years on the bottom of a dirty cooler, he didn't bring or offer a glass ( as if I would put my mouth anywhere near that bottle ) then I waited for my chips and salsa as I would expect at ANY Mexican restaurant..nope, not this one. I review the menu and can't find the Tacos..when I inquire, I'm told "we don't serve Tacos on the lunch menu"..yes, a Mexican restaurant that won't serve Chips & Salsa or a Tacos until after 5pm..that's INSANE!!! Nice space and decorated nicely. Typical mexican decorations. Display cabinets with odd things for sale. No chips and salsa offered. When asked about them we were told they were not free anymore and didn't even give us option to buy them and were told they haven't served chips and salsa for 11 months. Margarita- we ordered regular on rocks with salt. No salt on rim and terrible taste. Possibly the worst we have had at a mexican restaurant. Food was decent but everything felt rushed and we were in and out within 45 minutes. And by the way the restaurant was 3/4 empty and we were sat next to a garbage can and the waiter station. A friend and I decided to meet here as previously other friends had a good experience here. We order two main meals (grilled salmon and grilled steak), fresh guacamole, cocktails (passion fruit margarita, piña colada). We also ordered dessert (abuela's cake) and cappuccino. The prices were totally different from menu available in Yelp. The hours we we went was still lunch hours and the only menu available was the dinner menu. The service was not great. We had to look around and call someone every time we wanted something else. We were unhappy with the bill and we're not planning to eat here anytime soon. read more

Came here with a friend, our usual Mexican spot closed so we came here to get our fix. Pretty disappointed. Service was okay but we were seated in the back and at times were forgotten. We got no chips and salsa and clearly saw waiter bringing the baskets to other tables and not ours. I got chicken fajitas but the portion was the smallest portion I've ever seen. Usually fajitas are bursting with fresh peppers and onions and lots of meat but these peppers with super tiny and I had maybe 6 strips of chicken. For the price didn't seem worth it. Haven't been here in a while and was very pleased to see all the Halloween decorations . It was very festive ,fun and colorful .All the staff were very enthusiastic and in full costumes. *Rip-Off* I wish I could give zero stars !! Tried to add two margaritas at $30 to our check , check you receipt! Sign on the desk said "CASH ONLY Credit Card Machine Down" when I walked in with my 90 year old mom, I saw it and told her to sit on the bench while I went to find an atm machine and suddenly the guy behind the desk whispers to the hostess and she says "oh it's working now." So . . . We sit down and wait for our friend to arrive. It's 6:15 in a Sunday. We order our food , 1 appetizer, guacamole was 1 - yes 1 avocado tableside. Food was ok , nothing special . Only two beers were had . I asked for the check and because I wanted to treat my mom and friend i quickly put my credit card in the check book without looking at the check - my mistake . But When the server brought the check back, with no itemized bill, the amount seemed high. So I asked for the check , and whadya know , the last item added was two margaritas for $30. I called the server over and said we didn't have any margaritas. Now had he said , I'm so sorry I put the drinks for another table on your check by mistake " ok. But no he blames the credit card machine , says "it's been acting up all day" . Total BS !! He did it on purpose and would have likely pocketed the money after editing the check. While I couldn't prove it i know what he tried to do. I worked in the restaurant business and have seen what a few unscrupulous servers try to do . Oh and on Sunday nights they have live loud music so forget a nice meal on a Sunday evening where you can hear yourself . We were able to sit in a nice sunny section of the restaurant. It wasn't crowded at lunch on the weekend. The guac was made table side to our surprise. The piña coladas were pretty good. This is the one restaurant i had my first legal drink when I turned 21. For the past 4 years i've been wanting to come back and finally did exactly 4 years later, and again, to celebrate my birthday no. 25. Loved it like the first time, maybe more. We were greeted with warm, fresh made chips and salsa. Then selected guacamole as appetizer, which is the BOMB because it's made right *IN YOUR FACE* and it was PERFECT!!! Food was delicious, right on point. Service was way more than excellent. They also serve real juice (made out of fruits), not canned or boxed juice, which is also a most for me. Went to this restaurant with friends for Cinco today. We ordered drinks and food and they completely forgot 1 of 4 entrees. Our friend's food came when we were more than halfway done. Then the bill came and they automatically charged 20% gratuity. Once we paid, we noticed the bill was $10 more as there was extra charge for credit over cash. I've been a server before, and honestly forgetting the entree wouldn't have been a dealbreaker... but to have no monetary acknowledgement of their mistake and then to be required to tip 20% for service and be charged an extra $10 for credit is crazy. In honor of cinco de Mayo, I must review the first restaurant I had my first legal drink at age 21! I've been here countless times since then because the service and ambiance are just amazing! Rewind the tape to years ago, my 21st bday, I felt SO special here. They came over with a beautiful sombrero, mariachi band. They also handed out a round of shots to our table. The restaurant itself is very spacious and roomy, it is great for large families, teams, parties, events etc. now let's talk the best part- food. YUMMMM. Everything was so delicious! And it has been each time I've come back here. The salsa verde chicken enchiladas were amazing. They also have a drink served in a pineapple- which is so aesthetic and so fun! i took my brother and his wife out to eat before I leave state. We ordered three flank stakes. It came out room temperature on the colder side. As we proceeded to pay for the table we handed him the card. we took out cash to give him a tip and noticed on the receipt that they had already changed us 3 gratuity of $30 with out us even knowing. This place is not worth the price at all... First the service was terrible, we asked for water and was told that "we could not get any at this time." We got a charge for everything including: Using a debit card Extra plates Tap Water 2 plates & 2 margaritas somehow came to over $300 with each drink costing $65 and the food nor the drinks were worth this price... Lastly with a party with over 6 they charged a $50 mandatory gratuity, which is okay except for when the bill was split each person was charged that extra $50 fee. Never going back again. read more

We have been patrons of Rancho Grande for years . Food and drinks always on point . The staff , old and new , are always accommodating. But today I was a bit disappointed. Usually as you sit down for dinner we get chips with salsa . Today we reviewed the chips with no salsa . We inquired and were told that now they charge $5 for the salsa !!!! I know that prices go up but $5 for a small side of salsa is ridiculous. When we go to several Italian restaurants in the area you are always served bread and butter , no charge. Same with Chinese or Japanese restaurants, you get edamame on the house . Might have to find another Taco Tuesday establishment. Maybe the management might have to think that one over . read more

I had the chicken fajitas which had to have at least 1pd of chicken in it. flavor was juat the right amount of spice and the peppers and onions were sauteed to perfection. The quesadilla was very nice size and filled with cheese coming out of the sides. The enchilada combo is served with one of each and does not lack on size and quality. the chicken one waa like a spicy bbq, which was out of this world. The table side guacamole can be served mild, medium or hot, overall very nice and refreshing. the fried plantanes were a little on the soggy aide and full of grease. Overall the food was very good. Went out to eat there on Thursday with family the service was not good. They cleared away dishes while we were still eating. We were a party of 6 (4 adults, a child and a baby). They added a 20% tip to the order and also on bottom of receipt they suggested an additional tip. Mind you the place was almost empty and to take away food especially from a child was unnecessary.
