Went in today for a late lunch with my family. It is a cute place in a busy location, honestly I loved the area it is a bit on the gritty side but lots of promise and charm. There is easy parking across the street so it's not difficult to get in. The food was great, I had the Pastor tacos, after the two shots of Don Julio (I couldn't resist), we also ordered some steak, rice and beans, and chicken tacos. The food was good, I liked it, I felt that the food was fresh and just had a good taste. If you're in the area give this place a shot, good vibes.

I give it a 4 star only because the waitress was attentive doing her best alone and the place looks nice. Unfortunately it's my 1st and last time going, food is overpriced. $8 for a beer and the food is way to expensive $17 for sopes. That's just ridiculous and not the quality of service expected. Another thing is one of the business partners is promoting a tequila drink which he wants you to buy, but does not offer a complimentary shot to even see if you interested. Only expects you to buy it without know if you like it or not, nope not interested. They need to reconsider their prices !

The menu is short because of COVID-19 but when I tell you Dos Marias combo platter here was beyond great. Everything thing on the plate was great. I can't complain about anything, food was delicious, drinks were great and our waitress was wonder. I will definitely be back, thank you!

No taste in the food, atmosphere is ok. Drinks are expensive for the area. Service is ok, and music is too loud, looks more like a bar.

This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During…read moremy first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

I got the chicken quesadilla which was very good, wish it had a little more spice. Husband had the mushroom tacos which alone seems more like an appetizer also needed more flavor. Vegan cheese cake was very unique option. Needed a little more sweetness.

Everything felt watery, and while I understand that some locations may cater to people who prefer milder food with more moisture, it just didn't work for me. I had the beef birria. The texture was all right, but it was very saucy without much kick. It honestly tasted more like a generic meat filling rather than something with the bold flavor I'd normally associate with birria. The rice was forgettable, there were a lot of chips, and the drinks were okay. This was just an average spot. I wouldn't come back unless they made some noticeable improvements. Maybe if you're tired and just need a quick pit stop, it could work as a one-time group experience.

I think they may have added the cilantro cream sauce because I mentioned it after I saw it listed for another dish on the menu - not sure if it's usually on there - but was a great addition and would recommend. The whole dish was tasty. I did notice on the menu that their drinks are on the pricy side - 14 for a piña colada, for instance. This dissuaded me from getting one. Feels a bit unreasonable to have drinks and entrees be similar prices. The waiter was attentive and efficient. The environment is casual, relaxed, yet festive. Great place to go to wind down a week.
