Today, Sunday, April 13th I called this establishment to place a breakfast order at approximately 12:05 PM. I remained on hold until I walked into the restaurant. I hung up, placed my order, it was repeated to me by the cashier for accuracy and when I acknowledged that the order was right, she advised me that the cost was $72.95. I made the payment using my debit card, collected my order at 1230PM and when I arrived home I realized that I had only received the salt fish and the whiting was missing. I called back the store at 1 PM and advised them of the issue, they confirmed that they realized that the whiting had not been included after I left and the only resolution that was given to me was to come back and get it. I told them (Enricka, Jodie-Ann and Jonnie, all spoken to within multiple call back over 30 minutes, that was not a feasible option, so they either needed to deliver the whiting, or refund the monies for that. They provided the following options which were all to be at my expense for a problem created by the ineptitude of their personnel. a) Return to the store to pick up the whiting today or another day b) Return to the store to be refunded for the whiting c) Return to the store, to cancel the original order and then be charged for the new order without the whiting. I was placed on hold several times during this entire fiasco, the call was disconnected, so I was forced to call back just to wait for 8 minutes before someone else came to the phone to whom the entire situation had to be repeated. I was then glibly advised to come back another day, since the establishment will be closed by 3:45PM today. I do not reside in the state of NY. I reside in the state of South Carolina to which I am returning. I have emailed the establishment directly for them to rectify the matter. I am giving them the review that they so aptly deserve and I will follow up with a complaint to the BBB. I've ordered from here quite a few times and what I've noticed is that the good quality seem to vary based on the day and quite possibly the chef cooking the food that day. I typically order the fried fish,dumpling and fried plantain combos. I have ordered some of the standard Jamaican staples such as the curried goat and curried chicken. I'll go into some detail about the food. Some days you will get the most perfect Jamaican dumplings where the exterior is the perfect crisp with the soft pillowy interior and some days you will get misformed oiled soak dumplings. It is a crap shoot. The fish also had it's day where it's perfectly seasoned and fresh and some days you will get fish that taste like it's been sitting their all day. For the price you pay for the Jamaican staples you would hope to receive more food then you get. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed at all I actually think they should change the name to knock off dumpling shop because the consistency of the food is not up to par and I have bought food multiple times but it's either a hit or miss. While the food is tasty do not go there expecting any kind of hospitality. Approaching the counter is an offense to the person taking your order and it won't change. The curry goat must be a commodity because I waited to give this review but unless it's personal I got to say, whenever I go all I get is bones. I get it, goat is bony but I have taken personal offense to the atrocity that has been my curry goat dinner on 3 occasions.
