    Always a line
    Sadia H.

I haven't been here in a while. There's a line. I ordered the chana aloo roti with tamarind & pepper. The roti is nice and soft, the chana & aloo are good, I just wish I had asked for extra tamarind & pepper. For $6.50 a roti, it's a generous amount of food. I'll be back to try their fish next. Happy Yelping!

I came here and ordered some Roti, since Ali's is down (I don't even think they're going to re-open at this point). I've never been here before, but the prices and reviews seemed decent. I got a veggie roti and a shrimp roti. The portions were definitely nice sized and the filling was nice on both. The shrimp was a (little) over cooked and the roti was a bit dry, but it was good nonetheless. I would come again and try some of the other roti, but I wouldn't say this place was better than Ali's.

Feroza's roti cut in half yummy

Shark! Where is the rest of my fish-/ I was hungover n stood n the line for 26 mins no lie!

Ok so I'm standing in this line right now again-/ a week later!!! I came n here with my friend n she raved about their food... she left out the fact that they make Shark-/ so now it's my turn to order n this man told me about a few different sauces he eats his shark with! I think I was more amaze with his energy to help me decide plus the place was extremely crowded!! The patience he had with me was different because once again the line was extremely long!! Idh any pics from last week!! But this week I do!! Their food is extremely good-/ n customer service out of this world! I'm thinking he cooks the food too! I'm not sure-/ however he was really sure on where he stood when it came to this food! N he didn't stare me wrong! However this go around he was not there for me to complement him and the serving of the fish was a piece! I was really disappointed about that! No shade their food is awesome just check ur food b4 u leave! 4 the record I'm going straight to Brooklyn -/ I leave that spot so-/ that one little fish pissd me off

    Ask the Community - Feroza's

    Do they accept debit?

I believe they're cash only. A few blocks south is a bank and there are bodegas nearby that have ATMs but I just drove to the bank and withdrew cash.

Have they reopened or are they permanently closed?

    Yes they are open again

    Are they back open?

Not yet as of 12/24 and they do not deliver. A shame. Their business would triple!!! Its the best.

Is this place still open ? They don't answer the phone like at all

They had the gates closed when I stopped by on Tuesday (5/20) afternoon. There was also a sign about closure due to Covid.

Do they sell Tunnock's Caramel Wafers?

    No, they do not.

What time do they open and close?

Open between 11 and 12 pm. Not sure. Call before you go

Why did I wait so long to come here?!…read more I mean, I know why. It's a bit of a trek from where I live. But I'll happily travel for good food, and Trinciti absolutely justified the journey. As an Indian, I don't say this lightly. I know my Indian food. I was already aware of the historical overlap between Indian and Caribbean cuisines, but Trinidadian food fascinated me. The familiar spices and flavors are there, yet they've evolved into something entirely their own. You can taste the migration story, the adaptation, and the creativity in every bite. A quick practical note because Instagram reels had me misinformed. They do take cards. You don't need cash. Also, parking isn't exactly abundant, and there aren't many nearby places to sit with your takeaway. My advice is to grab a table and eat there. The space itself is small and pretty no-frills, so if you're coming for ambiance, this isn't that kind of place. But if you're coming for flavor, you're in exactly the right place. The setup is simple. You line up, order when it's your turn, and move things along. It's a busy spot, so a little menu reconnaissance goes a long way. The staff are efficient and patient, but they're not mind readers. Asking them whether shrimp or chicken is "better" feels like asking someone whether you should prefer chocolate or vanilla. Both are good. It depends on what you like. We ordered the dhalpuri roti, which is a soft flatbread stuffed with seasoned ground lentils. If you're sharing, ask for it not to be wrapped. Otherwise, it comes rolled up like a wrap. We filled ours with both the curried goat and the oxtail because we weren't there to play it safe. Both were excellent, paired with those comforting, home-style potatoes that soak up all the flavor without overwhelming you with spice. I also couldn't leave without trying the doubles, and we kept it plain. Oh. My. God. Flavor bomb. At its heart, it reminded me of chole bhature's distant cousin. The same comforting chickpea soul, but interpreted through Trinidad's lens with pepper sauces and chutneys that make it unmistakably its own. I honestly think the chutneys are what take it over the top. For the bake and shark though Pay first, take your number, and when they call you up, tell them how you'd like it dressed. Personally, I have a "trust the chef and give me everything" philosophy, so I said yes to it all. The result was a glorious mess of crispy fried shark piled high with pineapple, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and an array of vibrant chutneys that I am still thinking about. They do not skimp on the fish. Watching them assemble it from the front row is part of the fun. Before you leave, do not skip the cassava cake. The raisin dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's entirely personal and worth trying if you have a sweeter tooth than I do. They also sell plenty of snacks and hot sauces, so take a look around before heading out. One final thing I appreciated. They have a restroom and a sink stocked with soap. Trust me, you are going to get messy. That's part of the joy of eating here. If you're the kind of person who side-eyes people for eating with their hands, this might not be your scene. If you're willing to embrace the delicious chaos, Trinciti will reward you generously. I left full, happy, and wondering why I had let distance keep me away for so long. Some places are worth the drive. Trinciti is absolutely one of them.

My first time trying doubles AND my first time in Trincity. The line started all the way outside…read morewhich added to my anticipation. My Trini friend was shocked that I;ve never had doubles and so this day was my lucky day. When you reach, the servers take your order along with as many toppings and additions. They also had bake and shark, bake and saltfish, and other items to choose from such as dhal puri roti, pholourie with tamarind sauce, it was my first time so I didn't go too crazy and wanted to appreciate the essence of the doubles. I would go back again. It is takeout, so don't get too comfy. Make sure you're ready to grab your order and take that first bite after you leave or reach your destination!

It is in the parking lot of Walmart/Home Depot but closer to the BJ's side. The wait was a bit long to order the food. They have a great ordering system in that they have a megaphone to call out your receipt number. I had a bit of a wait to receive my food. I initially went for corn soup and I should have just stopped ordering right there. The corn soup was very tasty. I didn't care for the dumplings that they had in it though. I poured pepper in my soup and it was real nice. I should have gotten two soups. I got an aloo pie with channa, pepper, tamarind, mango, cucumber, and chadon beni. This could have used more flavor, which is surprising, especially with all of the toppings on it. I got bake and saltfish with tamarind and pepper. I truly did not like or enjoy this at all. I took one bite and knew I shouldn't eat anymore. I took another bite to be sure and after that bite decided to just take my L and throw it all out. The saltfish was rubbery, at room temperature, and it tasted off. The bake itself seemed like it would taste okay but it was soggy and soaking in liquid. I literally opened this shortly after getting it so i don't know how the bake could be so soggy. I would not recommend the bake and saltfish at all. The aloo pie is okay but it wasn't giving what it needed to give. However, the corn soup was delicious. Def go for the corn soup.

Unfortunately, they were out when I arrived, which was a bit of a letdown since that was the main reason for my visit. That said, I pivoted and ordered a double instead, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The double was flavorful, especially with the added peppers, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. At just $3, it's hard to argue with the value -- a very fair price for a quick, satisfying bite. Overall, the food itself was good and definitely scratched the Caribbean street-food itch. The ambiance was standard and clean. My only real disappointment was the lack of salt and bake, since it's something I was genuinely looking forward to trying. Still, if you're in the area and craving an affordable, tasty double, this spot delivers. I'll likely give it another shot in hopes of catching the full menu next time.
