This has been my go to spot for Roti since 1994. My daughter started eating roti from her when she was five and is now 34. She goes here more than I do now!! I still make a trip every time I come home to visit from Georgia, I'm retired now. I know some of the ladies retired too, and they're missed. Please turn your phone back on and take phone orders again, it was such a convenience. read more

Have people writing these negative reviews lost their mind? I have had Gloria's in BK, Ali here in the BX by 236 and another shop in Queens. By far the best damn roti in NYC!!! Yes the decor sucks, place looks dungy and could use a remodel but come on really? This is a food pick up spot concentrate on the quality of the food not of the restaurant. I also agree that the ladies that serve us are difficult to smile but again are you going there for the smile or for the food? I have seen them smile from time to time read more

Feroza's - Goat roti the freaken best!!! - Trinidadian Near Me - Bronx, New York

This was my first time having Trinidadian food, and I got the goat roti. The roti wasn't very fresh, as it wasn't hot. Actually, my food in general was very lukewarm and not very fresh. The goat was okay, but it wasn't very flavorful and there were bones which I wasn't expecting. The amount of food is okay for the $8 post-tax price. read more

Food is too salty so it ruined the meal. The food would be perfect if they just cut down on the salt

I use to live nearby here 4 years ago on holland avenue and would visit this place at least once a week. My staple is the potato roti and potato pie. I recently visited NY on vacation and had to go back here. Still the same and super yummy!! read more

Feroza's is definitely really special. If you don't like a place with a great atmosphere, then don't go here. Fabulous menu items, Curry Goat was my choice and it was really incredible. Staff is incredibly welcoming and can help you with anything. Feroza's is so good. read more

I have been eating here for over 10 years, the food is delicious! Beef Roti, Shrimp Roti, Doubles and Shark are my favorites. I've been to 2 in Brooklyn and another uptown in the Bronx, this is hands down the BEST! read more

This places' decor will never win a beauty contest but when it comes to the chicken & goat Roti, doubles, and polari balls, this place is the best in the Bronx. Be prepared to bring cash because credit cards aren't accepted. read more

Cons: Heck of a long line always when I go here. They move slow, and sometes No available parking. Youre most likely going to get your order take out. Pros: A long line is usually means the food is good You can get some rare Caribbean candies and sodas Good price for the food. read more

Recently went to Feroza for food. I was really impressed the food was really good. The roti was soft and fresh and the curry chicken was great and well seasoned. It tends to get packed but that's just a sign of a great place to eat. The place is cash only but the food is great, so fork over the cash and just eat. read more

I've been coming here my whole life. So many great options. The salt fish fritters, the pholourie, the shark, the doubles, the curry shrimp, the fried fish, stew chicken, and of course the roti. The tamarind sauce and hot sauce are delicious on any item. The line is always super long here during lunch time and after 3 pm; sometimes the line spills out onto the sidewalk. The business is ran by 3 generations. The two older ladies are stone faced depending on their moods and very precise about the meat you get; the eldest lady is friendlier than the younger. The son is much nicer than both and is generous with servings ;). Pro tip: Order your rotis "unwrapped". You end up getting more meat than you would with a wrapped roti (comparable to getting a burrito bowl from Chipotle with the tortilla on the side and then wrapping it yourself = more meat/ filling). I also like this method because Feroza leaves the bone on all of their roti meat so it give me a chance to debone the chicken or goat (I don't like have oxtails in rotis) meat. Most people just spit out the bones as they go but this way I can bite into my roti without any worries of biting into anything too hard. read more

The best roti spot in the Bronx period! The line for the restaurant says it all! You can't go wrong with their roti dishes!

Feroza's you are truly exceptional, I had a spectacular experience here yesterday. Very cool and different. OMG, their Shrimp Roti was absolutely delicious, such a terrific dish with excellent flavors. Service was outstanding and everybody working here was incredibly nice and helpful. I would highly recommend Feroza's to anyone. read more

I have been going to this Roti shop since I was a child and I am so glad it is still around. It is a very controversial statement but they sell the best roti's in the city. read more

Excellent!! Whenever I'm in the Bronx near white plains road, I make it a priority to come to Feroza's to get two roti's to go.

Feroza's is simply rather wonderful. The price is right. Crew is super welcoming and will help you with everything. It is so very good, yum yum. I love it. read more

Food is great!!! I loved my curry goal and dhal. My only issue with this was that we paid nearly $50 for curried goat & curry chicken with roti and dhal . read more

This is my favorite roti spot on NYC. Ali's in Bx is ok but the curry isn't as flavorful. Ali's in Brooklyn is good but inconsistent; sometimes they skimp on the filling or the flavor is off or both. Feroza has been on point every time I've eaten their food. The Good: The curry chicken is flavorful and the roti skin is buttery, light, perfect. My favorite is the oxtail but the chicken, shrimp and conch are delish too. The Bad: Get there early especially on weekends because they do run out. Overall, Feroza has the best roti in the Bronx read more

Brothers and Sisters, it is with a heavy heart that I write this review, but you have done me wrong! This place was disgusting and was by far the worst doubles and aloo pie I ever ate in my life. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this food was left over from the day before. I don't know if I was there on their worst day ever. There are so many positive reviews about this place, but I will never go back. read more

So on Friday the fiance and I had a craving for roti and decided to give Feroza's a try. There were only three people ahead of us when we walked in, but by the time we gave our order a long line had formed behind us, so clearly this place is a neighborhood favorite. Admittedly, service was a bit slow but it seemed to be a special case. There was only one woman available at the moment to serve so it took a few minutes longer than it should, but this wasn't too much of a problem. The woman was very nice and served us with a smile. I ordered the oxtail roti while my fiance had the veggie, and we both ordered doubles with tamarind sauce. The oxtail roti was the most expensive one ($10) on the menu, and I almost didn't get it for this reason, but I couldn't resist. I will admit, the oxtail pieces were a bit small and bony for the price, but the flavor definitely made up for it. The meat was tender and fell right off the bone - absolutely delicious. The doubles were also very good, full of flavor. I ate mine well before my fiance ate his, so I was forced to sit and watch in envy while he devoured it. Next time I'm getting more than one each! I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the roti, especially the goat. I also noticed some fried dumplings, saltfish fritters, and plantain back there that I'll probably try some of, too. The NE Bronx definitely has its fair share of Caribbean food joints (especially near & around White Plains Road) and Feroza's is definitely one of the best. At first I felt like I was cheating on Ali's which is just a few stops away on the 2 train but honestly, you can never have too much roti! read more

This place is by my church & I have to say their food is BOMB!!! Everything from Curry to Oxtails, etc. i just dont like how they close early. All the other West Indian shops close after 10pm but here. When I go to church, Im guaranteed to come here for it to be closed after church. They have a line, and nowhere to sit so expect to get ur food to go. read more

It's just ok food to me. I had got oxtails and a chicken roti, with a banana soda and an apple juice spritzer. Oh and some kind of round balls made of dough with something to dip them in. An empty restaurant with a nice lady inside. The best thing I can say I had was the banana soda. Delicious. Anyway I prefer oxtails made from the Jamaicans. Ive had better Trinidad food from Brooklyn, and Ive come to realize that I will not be eating anymore food from any Trinidad restaurant. I dont really care for the way they make their food, or the type of food they make. Its not that all of the food is bad, its just I dont crave for anything that they specialize in. Anyway, if roti is your thing then I would say, sure go for a visit, but if you want some good oxtails and rice and peas or steam cabbage, this is not the place to go. read more

I've been coming here for 20 years and never had a bad meal. The food is consistently good and flavorful. The staff is friendly and always ensures that you leave with what you ordered. read more

Winner winner roti dinner! Or roti lunch! It just wins any time of the day. Love the roti from here! Had it on several occasions with the fam and we've sampled an array of their roti- chicken, beef, goat etc. For those spice heads- get with hot pepper inside. Super tasty! This is the quintessential Trinidadian joint where eating in means choosing from 1 of 4 small tables in the back that cascade into darkness. Take-out must be the play here considering we are always the only ones dining in despite the lines being pretty long when we go in on weekends. read more

I Tried... I really did...this food is not good. I ordered the stew chicken, curry chicken, and a curry chicken roti (I was given beef). The curry chicken was bone-in, it was tough to pull apart and dry. The "stew chicken" was previously fried chicken with a red almost sweet and sour sauce on it. The roti had 5 pieces of meat in it, and I had so much roti skin left because of lack of filling , I could have made two more roti. I know you tried Bx with this one, I have to pass. I'm gonna stick to Queens on this. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. I am done!!!! read more

This is a good back up Roti shop in the Bronx. Years ago I used to love Ali's but they fell off and I fell out of love. The shrimp rotis are VERY good, period! I'm not a fan of their doubles, not sure what the problem is but I think it's the bread. The customer service is something left to be desired.... Come in and have an idea of what you one because you will get rushed and passed by in order to serve the next customer. read more

This review will be very short: If you like roti, you MUST come here. Period. My grandmother used to bring me to Feroza's almost every weekend when I was a kid. I still have not had a better roti in New York than I have had here. Trinidad, yes, but NYC, no. Everybody wants to talk about Gloria's and a whole handful of places in Brooklyn for roti. Nope. Come to Feroza's. It'll change your life. Service is quick. There is always a line out the door (because everyone in the neighborhood knows the food is GOOD) but they move quickly and are very friendly. I always feel like a kid again when I go there. Also, I've never eaten in-- there appears to be a room in the back to sit down and grub, but my Grams and I would always take the food back to her place, and I've done the same as an adult. read more

Great food for lunch!! Portions are big and flavor is on point. I usually get the oxtail with rice and it's delicious!! Would definitely recommend you trying the oxtail if you haven't already. Feroza's - Oxtail with rice - Trinidadian Near Me - Bronx, New York

I don't have any experience with Trinidadian food, so it's hard for me to compare Feroza's roti to other versions. That being said, this place is awesome and definitely worth a visit. Heads up to my fellow newbs: "dal puri," apparently, is kind of like a dusty powder. It's delicious, but if you order a dal puri roti you are more or less ordering a plain roti. (When we ordered it, we had imagined that an Indian-style yellow lentil "daal" would be inside the roti. We were wrong.) It tasted great, though, so no harm done. The chicken curry is absolutely delicious, but since it comes with bones we ordered it over rice and peas instead of in a roti. It ended up being a good combination: we ate the rice and peas with a fork, and ripped off little pieces of the curried chicken with the dal puri roti. This place is genuinely worth the schlep up from Manhattan or Brooklyn, and if you're in the area anyway (to pick up supplies at Arthur Avenue or visit the Bronx Zoo), even better! Absolutely schedule a visit here. read more

So my boyfriend and I were in the mood for some Caribbean food and I happened to find this little gem from yelp. The food is delicious. For dinner he ordered a large plate of oxtails rice and peas. The sauce was on the oxtails was so savory and homey. I ordered curry goat and roti. The Roti is one of the best I've had. It's not easy making good roti & my boyfriend who never cares for roti enjoyed some too. The portions served were more then generous. I would definitely come back. It's not a place you go to for decor it's a place you go to for good quality authentic Caribbean food. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
