Wanted a quick bite & was craving Greek food. We had gyro, village fries and a spanikopita empanada. Everything was delicious!

Greek Eats is a clean and delicious fast-casual style Greek restaurant found on Newman Springs Rd. Their meats are all served fresh from the spit-roast, with plenty of sides such as gigante beans, brown and yellow rice, aegean coleslaw, and a variety of sauces. Servings tend to be very generous. You may feel like the meats get lost in the dish when stacked so high with other toppings. read more

Greek Eats is a cool eatery. They have very, very nice landscaping outside and a beautifully renovated interior. It's in the fast casual category, so they have a Chipotle-like set up with the corrugated metal walls and assembly line service. But instead of serving Mexican, they serve Greek. It's an innovative approach, and it's in line with what busy, working people want these days. For me, as a single guy, who doesn't want unhealthy fast food but also doesn't have the time and patience for a sit-down restaurant, Greek Eats is a great option. For the other reviewers who said it's not a traditional Greek restaurant, that is true. However, I could imagine a place like this being in Downtown Athens. Modern day Greeks do not always eat strictly traditional Greek food either. The iced tea was really good, too. I had some left over this morning, as well, and it was still really good. This is one of my favorite local restaurants. It is consistently awesome. The gyros are delicious and they are often adding new, innovative items to the menu, like the outstanding "Greek Honey BBQ Wings" I just had. The place is clean, the service is great, and the food fresh. They even have really cool and tasty drinks (Orange Cardamom Juice) and desserts (Baklava). Love it. read more

Came here one night while on vacation and I'm glad I did. As many have mentioned, it's kind of like Chipotle for Greek food, but they also have some signature meals. I chose to create my own pita with chicken souvlaki, spicy feta, onions and tomato. The gyro was topped with a sriracha tzatziki. So good and so fresh tasting. Great new spot! For lack of a better way to describe, it has a Chipotle set up where you can build your own. Staff was also very friendly. I got the standard Lamb "Yeero" with regular Tzatziki, lettuce and cucumber. It was delicious. I read that this place is owned by the same people who own Teak and Bistro and it definitely shows. Very high end look and high quality food. We will definitely be back. Also -- I overheard some people talking about it in Foodtown as well as some people downtown so the word is definitely getting around. read more

I was craving Greek food and decided to give Greek Eats a try. It's set up like a Greek food chipotle where you order your food and the staff has an assembly line method of getting everything together. I ordered the titan gyro with village fries. Everything was so good!The bifteke meat was very good and juicy and the dollop of tzaziki sauce was delicious. read more

I have been this to this restaurant several times but not anymore. They still accepted orders on door dash today (03/14) but they were closed. They had posted an Instagram post saying to order from them despite being closed. I commented on their Instagram post and their response was to block me. Very unprofessional. Own that you made a mistake and said you were open. Instead you block a customer. read more

The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. They do offer Gluten Free and vegan menu items that are marked. Everything is quickly made to order. My rating might not be a fair one because I have an issue with spooled gyro meet. My issue is I won't eat it and should have looked at the menu prior to going. They only serve beef, pork or chicken. For those who don't eat meat there is humus or a fava bean dish in garlic sauce. No seafood is offered. this is not a traditional Greek restaurant more like fast food Greek. read more

Meh. Have ordered multiple times over the past few years and it is consistently mediocre whether we eat in or take out. Food is not authentic. Falafel is too large. I think thats why it is mushy and mealy on the inside. Lemon potatoes are swimming in an oily lemon sauce that separates quickly (see photo). Unappetizing. Meats are boring, but sauces are tasty. Baklava is just okay. Will go elsewhere for Greek food from now on. read more

We were looking for a nice place to eat a quick lunch and this fit the bill as we were driving down Newman Springs Road. We were lucky that it was handicapped accessible because my husband is in a wheelchair. You have a choice to order a pita, bowl, or plate. First you order what kind of protein you want. I chose the Bataki which is spitfire roasted ground lamb and beef in a pita. Then we added a sauce and then we topped it with Kalamata olives feta cheese, onions, Asian slaw, red onion and parsley, cucumbers. It was quite delicious. My husband ordered the plate including everything I said Plus Safran or brown rice and roasted potatoes. We loved it. For $22 including a drink, we enjoyed a fabulous quick lunch which was healthy. read more

New place that just opened up in Shrewsbury. Reminds me of a Greek chipotle which seems to be the new trend (_____ chipotle). Even the decor inside reminds me of chipotle. The menu is a bit scattered and I would love a more concise menu (basically the only thing they didn't keep from chipotle). But after 5 minutes of deciphering the menu, i got the beef/lamb meat in a "jeero" (gyro). Then I got it with fries, spicey tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, and a few other things. It was very tasty and the meat was amazing! So tender and well seasoned. The fries were also a good choice as weird as it sounds. I am not sure if I am fully convinced to come back but I would say definitely try it. read more

I just recently visited Greeks Eats, Awesome place, Super friendly service. I had a Bowl with brown rice, spit roasted chicken, lettuce and a Greek Vinaigrette. There are several sauces to choose from. Everything to choose from was so fresh. I also had 2 chicken souvlaki, my god the lemon sauce is addicting. I could have eaten a dozen of them. The Gyro spits were stacked with real meat. I saw a few gyros that others had, they looked so good. The entire place from the parking lot to the bathroom was spotless. The food is incredible. It's so nice to be able to build your own meal. The staff was amazing with my gluten allergy. Everything is very fresh. My husband got a bowl with grains, lamb, spicy tzaziki, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc (basically everything he could pick) and loved it. Decided to give this new place a try. Compared it to my college hot spot, East Side Pockets in Providence. This was close, but this place had a Chipolte feel. Pros: clean, fresh food (try the fries), nice service.... Cons: no ice, undercooked rice, slightly slow in getting food out even when 3 people in line.... I'll be back. Been here twice now. Loved it both times. Very clean. Very friendly. Tons of seating. The food was awesome and fresh. Pita was great and such choices of sauces. The chipotle sauce is amazing. This is my first time here and I think it's really good! We tried the bifteki yeero and village fries, both were outstanding. The beef/lamb meat is seasoned well and it was cooked to perfection with both tender and crispy pieces. Very flavorful tzaziki sauce and extremely fresh toppings made for one of the best yeero (gyro) I've ever had. The village fries were just as good. Crispy, twice fried hand cut potatoes topped with the right amount of seasoning. They also had some really refreshing although painfully sweet lemonade in either raspberry or blood orange flavor. Loved the Chipotle style ordering and the dining room was comfortable and clean. We'll definitely be back soon. read more

Wrong hours listed on website. Little girl running the cash register is arrogant, and acts self-entitled as "if" she's all that. Staff aren't polite. A simple "hello, how may I help you?" is far beyond the custom service to be expected here. read more

I wanted to like this place because I love Greek food, but it was just okay. The pita could have been crispier. The lamb was okay but not that flavorful. The salad could have had more flavor as well. As other Yelpers said, it's set up like a Chipotle to create your own plate. Pleasant atmosphere. We stopped for a bite of food earlier tonight- you may like it if you've never had real Greek food. For me I was disappointed because generally when you were ordering a Gyro or chicken souvlaki, they cut it directly off the spit but here no they cut it off the spit and then they put it on the griddle and then it sits in a pan for who knows how long before its served to you. I'd say this is more of a Mediterranean style, The pita bread was good although half the size of the ones we get a New York City and the to Taziki sauce was good- My chicken was dried out but apart from that if you ordered the falafel I'm sure it would be good- It's a Greek version of chipotle- in a nutshell. So if you like that sort of food you're in the right place. So Final conclusion- meh. read more

If I could give this place negative 5 stars I would! Not good at all! The store is so beautiful on the outside and I was really excited to go in! The woman that starts the gyro line was really rude. I felt she was yelling at me when I was giving her the order from the very confusing menu. I had the chicken gyro bowl with brown rice and beans. The gyro meat tasted like stewed chicken instead of sliced gyro meat. The rice was good but the beans tasted like you just mixed a plain can of crushed tomatoes with low sodium beans. The steam table and the veggie options were dirty. Clean the place up! It was dinner time and the store had more employees than it had patrons. Worst Greek food ever! read more

delicious! my first time eating a gyro and i will be eating them more often. Its literally a taco but with a pita to hold it together. I built my own and got the chipotle crema really good loved the kick it had. the village fries were good in my gyro but i didn't enjoy them by themself, lots of clumps of cheese on them. read more
