We came to Great Wolf Lodge on a whim as we were sitting around, wondering what to do after the holidays. We scored a good deal on a room and purchased the pup pass before arriving. Parking was easy found a spot pretty quickly and our room was ready when we got there. We did have to wait in the long check in line because your account with Great Wolf Lodge has to match the credit card holder's name otherwise you can just use one of the kiosks. They have activities that are free in the lobby such as story time, dance parties as well as bingo. The main thing that we spent our day doing was having fun in the waterpark. We went downstairs in the food court area to grab a bite to eat. You can conveniently order in their app so that way your order is in and minimizes the wait. There are a lot of people down there wanting to eat! Magiquest is fun so bring your wands and if you don't have one that are available for purchase. Room was cozy and comfortable. Yes this place gets busy but it is part of the fun! We would definitely come back for another family getaway!

I thoroughly enjoyed this family trip to GWL! We had never been before, and just wanted to play at the waterpark. But since they were running a special room price, we decided to stay a night in the Wolf Den Suite! Checking into the Lodge was super easy, just scan the QR code from your email and your wristbands get printed out! The wristbands are your key to your room and can be used to pay for most everything if you chose to have a card added to a designated wristband. We bought the breakfast package beforehand and no other special packages because I knew my kids would just want to spend their time in the water this time around. However, I told them if we want to add the MagiQuest wands next time we could, it looked like a lot of fun. But honestly, I think they would be perfectly fine just splashing and sliding. I definitely recommend Great Wolf Lodge :)

My family recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge, and overall I'd give it a 6/10. There are definitely some highlights. The lazy river was a big hit and super relaxing, and the arcade is honestly really cool with a lot to do. The bowling is cute and fun for families, even though it's very small. We also tried the VR experience, which was actually pretty cool and something different. Food was a mixed bag. The pizza was good, and the nachos were easily the best thing we had there. On the flip side, the burgers were pretty terrible, especially for the price. Speaking of price, that's one of the biggest downsides. We spent around $700 for 2 nights including food and the room, which feels pretty steep for what you get. On top of that, there are a lot of little extra charges that add up--$25 a day for parking, being timed on drinks, and even timed while bowling, which takes away from the experience a bit. Some of the attractions also felt smaller than expected. The laser tag area is tiny, and while fun, it's over pretty quickly. Overall, it's a fun place for kids and families, and there are definitely some memorable parts--but the pricing and extra fees make it hard to fully justify. If you go in expecting to spend quite a bit and just want a fun getaway for the kids, you'll still have a good time.

19 and 9 year olds still having a blast at the yearly visit!

I've been coming here since my now 23 year-old was just 10. It's always been a fun, family-friendly place and I was excited to see the recent renovations. They were definitely needed and it looks great! That said, I have to share a serious concern about our current stay. The sixth floor, where we're staying, has been overwhelmed with the smell of marijuana. If this were an adults only resort, that might be one thing, but this is a family establishment, and it's completely unacceptable. We don't live that lifestyle, and we certainly don't expose our children to it, our youngest is 10 years old. I first reported the issue at 6:05 PM, and I was told it would be addressed. When we returned around 10:30 PM, the same strong odor filled the hallway in the exact same area. I followed up again and spoke to the manager, Kiki, who sent security (Anthony) to speak with me. He was very polite and explained that it's difficult to pinpoint the source, he assured me they were looking into it. Unfortunately, if this continues tomorrow, I'll have no choice but to move my family across the street to the Gaylord, we are Titanium Marriott members so it would be easy. I've genuinely loved this family resort and we come here every summer but this might be our final visit. We can't and won't tolerate an environment like this for our children. What's frustrating is that we've visited other locations, California (I believe it's legal there), the Poconos, and Sandusky and those resorts have a clear, well-enforced zero-tolerance policy. The moment they suspect anything inappropriate, they fix it. This should be a safe, clean, and welcoming place for families. When the hallways reek of marijuana, it completely undermines the experience and makes it hard to enjoy our time here. On a positive note, I want to commend the outstanding customer service we received from Carter C. and our wonderful waitress Jayne at Firegrill. They were both fantastic and deserve recognition. But honestly customer service has never ever been an issue at this location (Don't ask me about Webster location customer service because that one sucks lol)

Our stay was pleasant The kids love the water park and magiquest. But it's absolutely a one and done thing. They rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable and very spacious.

Our family just had our second visit to Great Wolf Lodge, and it was just as much fun as the first time around! We love this resort for a quick getaway, especially during these hot summer months when an indoor water park is a real treat. Hard to believe but it really does get to hot outside in Texas to swim! The kids, of course, were absolutely thrilled with the water park & our room was comfortable for the family, providing a good base for our stay. The convenience of having multiple dining options on-site meant we rarely had to leave the resort, which is a huge plus when you're trying to maximize your fun time.

I stayed in room 4084 back in November. The stay would have been better if staff actually cleaned the rooms. You would think since Covid they would make sure these things are always addressed. I wouldn't recommend going here. It's overrated and overpriced. Phone didn't work in the room and some of the plugs by the bed didn't work. My kids and I didn't even stay until check out.

Are the cabanas worth it? We are going during the week before schools are out for summer so hoping it will be quieter.

No, just get there early when they open and take some towels to put on the chairs to hold your spot.

How is the food in the restaurants at the resort?

So, when staying at a hotel in Texas, AC is a must. How's the air conditioning throughout the hotel? Is it too hot in the summer? Thanks in advance.

He loves waterparks more than anything in life, but we've already been to Great Wolf Lodge on multiple occasions, and we preferred to book with Bonvoy points over shelling out the cash for GWL. Plus, we didn't have a ton of waterpark time on the schedule - win, win, win. One thing that was frustrating is that there was zero record anywhere on the internet of the height requirement for the slides here. Well, internet, I'm here to save you with the answers. We have a son that was 43" as of this visit, and he would be crushed to get his hopes up about doing these slides, only to find out that he's not allowed to. There's one big water "castle" with 3 slides. Those requirements are 42". We actually came here a couple of years ago and he definitely did those slides then, and he was most certainly not 42" then. So I'm not sure if they just changed these or they just weren't enforcing the rules in 2023, but they definitely were measuring him on this visit. Then there's one bigger water slide that's stand alone. The requirements are that you have to be 48" to ride freely, but 42-47" is ok with a life jacket. And then the same restrictions apply to the zip line where you can jump in the water after hanging from several feet above the water. The annoying thing about this was that we were there early in the morning and were the only ones doing it. Yet the lifeguard literally measured my son each time he walked up, despite the fact that he was literally doing it over and over again with no one else around. Make it make sense. Overall, this is not the most amazing waterpark you'll find. But when you book with points, all you have to pay is the resort fee and for parking. It's pretty good bang for your buck when you think about it in those terms.

Our name was printed on the reserved spot making it officially ours! It is SUPER cool they allowed our own cooler with ice packs, although it would've been a tiny bit more amazing to sip on a girlie marg. I sent my friend on a scavenger hunt to see if they sell any type of alcohol of any kind and turned up empty, just as a heads up to others who may wonder too. While I mostly stayed in the toddler swimming hole and kiddie water slides, and shuffled over to try out the wave pool, my oldest told me about the Lazy River on the other side. She also told me about her "losing her soul" on the dropout slide ha! She had fun, but it took her breath away for sure. Bathrooms are air conditioned. NRH2O isn't nearly as big as Hurricane Harbor, but I prefer it for several reasons. For one, there are quite a few trees and grassy areas all throughout the park, providing shade and cooler grounds and all around cooler, happier vibes. Plus, tickets and passes are more affordable, and perhaps most importantly (especially to anyone with special dietary needs): you're allowed to bring in your own food and drink. Of course there are limitations on ice chest size and you can't bring in glass containers or alcohol, but it's so nice to be able to pack your own snacks and drinks. Not in loose ice, though, that's another rule. Your ice has to be bagged up (we just use ice-packs). Employees check through your bags very thoroughly at the entrance. I haven't been on any of the bigger slides in years, I now stick to the kiddie-spaces or the lazy river. I was in the wave pool recently with my niece and didn't have as much fun as I remember having when I was younger, haha. The park overall is pretty clean and well-maintained. Nothing looks like it desperately needs refurbished or sanitized! There are I believe 3 different "restaurants" onsite and then a handful of drink and dessert stands. You can find aaaall of your theme park favorites: hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, nachos, quesadillas, pizza, pretzels, cotton candy, chips, kettle corn, etc. There's also frozen lemonade, dippin' dots ice cream, and a churro food truck onsite! You'll have a great time at NRH2O if it's not ridiculously crowded and you're able to find yourself a little home-base with shade. You can reserve canopies and tables online, but they go fast!
