Very very nice. Cheap and a great way to beat the heat. They have limited tubes at the lazy river but the turnover was fairly quick and you should have one within 5 minutes. My kids have a great time when we come we even got a pass book for nonresident. The admission isn't terrible, regardless. It's def a public space and it's young adults/teenagers working. The cleanliness can obviously be a bit more kept up with, but I do see the guards taking out the trash. The concession stand is quick and has some pretty tasty options. We've gotten the pizza, prices are on the steeper side. Def worth it to grab a whole pizza for $20 versus the price they charge for one slice. My kids love the diving boards, they have two (although one has been out of commission this week - hopefully they fix it quickly!) It's on the smaller size but manageable to take your kids and find a spot to sit and you can keep watch of the kids while they run around. Bathrooms need major attention, but it would be nice if people could keep up with their own trash a little better too. read more

Took my (almost) 3 year old & (almost) 1 year old here last week by myself & they had a BLAST! First time here coming from Forney, so it was a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. They have TWO splash pad areas for smaller kids & many other areas for the bigger kids. Only downfall during our experience was they unexpectedly closed one of the splash areas for the little kids right as we got there, so we only got to play in one of the toddler splash areas, but my kids still had an amazing time! Cheap to get in and you can stay all day as they have concession stands with food/drinks for purchase. Will be spending the remainder of summer here! read more

My family is from Central Tx and we're staying in Wylie for the summer and we found this little gem in Carrollton. The park was clean and the price was budget friendly. For three non-resident tickets it was $27, If you are able to show proof of residency the price drops a bit. Snack bar available with grilled cheese, pizza, drinks, ice cream, corn dogs...etc for purchase along with a game box by the entrance with a multitude of pool toys. Arm floaties are prohibited, but life jackets are provided and puddle jumpers are allowed. My kids had been playing hard for 6hrs here and were still going, they didn't want to leave. I wish I had packed extra clothing because there was a nice park just a few feet away from the water park where kids could dry off and get those last "wiggles" out. Our youngest daughter asked to come here to celebrate her 7th birthday. It's the first time I'd been and, for the price, I was very impressed. We went on a Sunday as soon as it opened and, even though we didn't reserve one, we were able to grab an open table as soon as we arrived. Our oldest daughter is 10 and even she had alot of fun, especially diving off the diving board. The various options and places to play easily keep them busy for hours and we really appreciated being able to bring a cooler with plenty of drinks and water. The concession stand menu was pretty good, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back to enjoy this spot again! read more

Is there a senior citizen discount for the swimming pool and lazy river? I can't find a price for that only for general admission.

Where can you go for a fun time in the water for under $6/person on weekends and $5 on weekdays? Well, off Old Denton and Rosemeade is the Rainforest Awuatic Center. You can bring your own food; hot or cold, cooler with drinks and it cost us only $18 for the three of us. The place was pretty packed by 4pm, but we found a bench in the sun and set out stuff down. We didn't use a locked and found out bags untouched which is a good sign. Plenty of covered benches/tables and you can bring folding chairs or small chairs. There are plenty of lifeguards and their temperament is impressive, it's a tough gig managing screaming kids and some aggressive parents. The lazy river is great, kids loved it and the huge water bucket next to it. A couple of slides for the kids. That were ok, the bigger slides in the far side are much better, but have height requirement. My kids are small so we made do. Spent most of the time in the pool in the middle; it's 3 ft in shallow part and 4'6 in the deeper section. Kids had a blast in there. There's also a deep lap pool if you want to get some cardio in. They have a kitchen and store which we didn't try.... Maybe next time. Solid place, gave it a 4 on value for money...it would've been a 3 if it was more expensive. read more

The price is pretty budget friendly. There are so many things for kids to do. We went a few laps in the lazy river and my niece went to all the splash pad games. Also we left out bags un attended for a good 6 hours no one touched anything and lots of shaded areas or chairs tos sun bathing. Also chairs you can take close to the water. After paying entrance I was able to get in the water for less then 5 mins when they asked everyone to get out due to weather conditions it wasn't even raining sun was out after sitting there for a while the ringer goes off then we went back in which only 30 mins . The staff is consistently good. The concession is good. For those alone, u get 2 stars but you don't even deserve it. Okay the updated area is horrible. Do not waste your money bringing kids older than 10. They have NO PLACE TO BE . why you changed stuff is beyond me . It was great the way it was. First you take down the BEST feature, what it was KNOWN for which was the tall slide . Probably some idiot complained and it had to go for safety reasons. Next you take away the volleyball net and the pool up front for the younger kids and put in another splash pad because the 2 other splash pads in Carrollton are not enough. God forbid other families have kids that are not still wearing swimmers ....you're out of luck because unless you want to stand in line all afternoon to ride the 2 slides or jump off the short springy diving board alongside about 40% of the kids the stupid new area was designed for. And please for the love of GOD do not try and use the lap pool. It is for swimming laps only constantly. So if you need to stop and breath ....don't. You WILL be yelled at and told to keep swimming or get out . No thanks . I'm headed back to Plano. Don't waste your time or energy. read more

I don't know how to feel about this place anymore ): I grew up coming here when I was younger with my daycare/school for field trips I'm now about to be 23 and I had my daughters second birthday here because I wanted to share that memory with her and relive my childhood in a way. We rented two tables out in advance and the payment was to be due at the time of arrival. We arrived, with coolers, party decorations, packs of soda and waters all ready to go. We were told we can't "check in" or set up until the start of the reservation which was at 4PM. Kind of weird but okay, once we arrived at the reserved time we paid and went inside. Upon looking at our tables they placed them completely apart and separate, families sat at both our tables. The pool attendant said she couldn't do anything except wait until the people got back so I asked for a manager. I didn't pay for two tables and for the duration of the party per the hour to not be able to use my two tables I paid for. As we're setting our stuff up at one table and attending to the guests that are starting to arrive, another family goes and sits in our assigned table. At this point I'm enraged and it's my daughters birthday I don't want to cause a scene. But to charge $60 for two tables , plus charge by the hour, plus charge for everyone's entry and NOT receive what we paid for is completely unacceptable. This is a good place to go to by yourself or with your kids but do not plan on an event here. It was incredibly disrespectful as to how we didn't even receive a refund for the table we were not able to use. The park itself and layout. Used to be an amazing place to take the kids. Something changed this year. Lifeguards are lazy and inattentive. Example-diving pool kids jumping off side almost hitting the wall. 4 people in the water at one time-lifeguards need to do their job someone is going to get hurt. Olympic pool has no restrictions and there are many people who cannot swim. Literally. Almost took me and my daughter down trying to swim from wall to rope. Lifeguards don't say a word. Park has been extremely dirty weekend and during the week. I've come 4x this summer and this is my last. Pools are filthy. We picked trash out of main pool and lazy river. Trash around chairs and no one picking up. Here are pictures today just a few hours after opening. Don't even think about the weekend. This place is always renovating and trying to improve the place every year! I've been coming for the past 10 years since I moved to this location. I've enjoyed it so much. Staff is great. Pools are clean. So many things to do. They keep adding slides, lazy river, and so much more. It's cheap to come as a resident in Carrollton. Have enjoyed this place so much over the years! Splash area is in 10" of water and "kiddie" pool is 2.5 feet. Deeper pools, lap pools, lazy river, larger slides and diving boards for children and adults to enjoy. Love this place, my son is 5 so the toddler play area with a 1ft pool with slides is perfect for him, very minimal supervision required, if they get out of your sight of range. They get to socialize and play with other kids. They also a small pool for kids that want to learn how to swim, it goes from 2ft to 3ft. He also enjoys this area as he's still learning how to swim and he's able to touch the floor if need. For older kids the have 3 diving boards separate from the other pools and also bigger slides for kids over 4ft. The main pool consist of 4ft thur 10ft with a water volleyball net at 4ft and inter-tubes at the 9ft side. Lazy river also available and it's about 3.5ft deep. The staff seems well organizad and very alert of their surroundings, only thing that gets annoying is the consist yelling of no running when the floor is to hot for kids little feet. Overall a great place for kids and teenagers its inexpensive if you live in Carrollton, $5/person, they will ask for your ID to verify residence. $10/person if not from Carrollton. We took our son here for swim lessons, so this review focuses on that. We went with Rosemeade for our 3-year old's swim lessons for 3 reasons: - Friends recommended it. - It's super cheap! About $50 for 8 lessons - hard to beat that. - The lessons are "all together," i.e. 8 lessons over 2 weeks, or 4 lessons per week. Having all of the lessons together was very appealing. We liked the idea of keeping momentum, vs the one-lesson-per-week approach, which felt... too infrequent to us. After the lessons, I'm glad we went with that approach. Our son was excited about "swim class" every day and there was DEFINITELY positive momentum. I saw rapid progress, and it was exciting to watch. Every day, they'd get all the kids in the water (shallow end / steps of the 3' deep pool) and sing a song to make all the kids comfortable. Great tactic. The instructors-to-kids ratio was impressive for the little kids ("pre-school," although most were 3-years old) - about 2 kids per instructor. So an instructor would take one kid out and back while the other kid would wait on the steps. With multiple instructors in the pool at once and parents watching nearby, I felt like a lot of eyes were on the kids at any given time (including my own). Blair, our instructor, was wonderful. She had our son and one other 3-year old boy. She was gentle, yet firm when she needed to be. She was effective and always gave us summary points after each lesson. She was great. The list of skills covered by the class is long, so I won't list them all here. Highlights: floating, both arm and leg action (most legs), swimming on front and back, fulling submerging, and even brief exposure to the diving board. Most of the swimming entailed a pool noodle or kick board, but Blair also supported him with her hand while he did most of the work swimming and keeping himself afloat. It was great. Lot of repetition and good exposure. We went ahead and signed him up for more lessons this summer to keep moving forward. Onto the next level! Aside from swim lessons, this place has multiple pools (kiddie, lap, and diving board / deep pool) as well as water-works and slides areas. Great fun for the whole family. read more

Spent 2 hours here on a Friday morning. So much fun for the 4yo and 3yo kiddos. We brought a few buckets and cups for pouring and dumping and the kids loved it! Worst name ever. There's nothing "rainforest" about it. But the place is a great time, regardless of the completely inaccurate name. Here's what you get for $5: - 4 isolated water slides. Five minute wait time for a pretty fun mini-ride. They range from kiddie size to a pretty fast tall ride - A huge bucket that dumps a little tsunami every minute or so - Massive kiddie area full of squirting guns, playscape areas, etc - 2 Diving boards in their own isolated pool - The world's smallest lazy river. It's more of a tranquil donut - Main pool divided into 3 areas: Volleyball area, 5 foot medium area, and deep end Watch out for the ground though... It gets CRAZY hot. Walking to and from the pool without running is nearly impossible without burning your feet. Great value. I wish I had tried the snow cones, funnel cakes, and frito pies though. read more

Wow. I was really impressed with the City of Carrollton after going here. It's a great waterpark and CHEAP $3 for residents, $6 for non residents. You can bring a cooler - no alcohol, of course, but you can pack food and drinks for the family. I wish the people would be a little more courteous and pick up their damn trash. Also, in the kiddie area - you can find some random kids swimming around - like their parents use this place as an unsupervised daycare. My son is a little over a year old and not a huge fan of water... So let's take him to a water park!!! He had a great time! The kids area was perfect for his novice water experience. It was a splash pad, gradual decline into the 2ft pool (I think 3ft). The staff is mostly young people but they had great attitudes and were very helpful... not that I had a million questions. My only complaint is the women's bathroom was in need of serious TLC, I mean a hose down for real. This is a very nice Municipal pool. Basically, it is a Swimming Pool with a water-park add-on at one end. They have a small-child "Adventure" area and tiny Lazy River on the north end of the complex. The majority of the complex is regular swimming pool. The designer separated the pool types into distinct and separate pools so there is no risk of someone straying from one pool type to another accidentally. The shallow wading pool is separate from the diving area pool. The lane pool is separated from both the diving pool and the wading pool. There are two Adventure Slides that terminate in their own pool. Good design! On my way in, I noticed a sign-up sheet for swimming classes. Turns out that they teach adult swimming classes for not much money and they keep the total enrollment to a very small number. One of the people who is my Lazy River Buddy officially can't swim. We are after her to get some Drown-Proofing! She is working on getting signed up. This is a good thing. OK. The Lazy River Review. Tiny Lazy River. But, what it has that is entertaining is one of those giant water-dump buckets that splashes down onto part of the Lazy River. It was fun. So, is this the ultimate Lazy River I am seeking? Nope. Would I go back? Certainly, if what I wanted was inexpensive swimming pool entertainment for the entire family. This place is a bargain! read more

Seems a little overpriced at 9$ per person on a weekday if u don't have a Carrollton addie, but we did enjoy our visit. The water was clean, the employees were friendly(young lady who answered the phone was helpful and pleasant) and the snack bar was nice. I particularly liked the small winding river with inner tubes. We were able to bring in a cooler, food and drink, as long as no glass was involved. I believe part of the enjoyment came from it not being super crowded or super hot that day. There were shady spots and an outside shower for rinse offs. Bathroom was a little messy but typical of bathroom associated with public pool and was not gross, just not monitored for clean ups as well as it should have been. We had fun for a few hours. Life guards apparently switch out every 15 min, prob to keep them fresh and on their toes. I witnessed a male lifeguard tell a child to not do something while in the winding river in a very professional and kind way. Public pools have come a long way since the 70's and 80's! Really enjoyed my visit to the rainforest, it was my first time going in a few years and I was really impressed with how nice the place looks now. They are doing great cleaning and supporting social distancing in the water park where it is hard. The two star loss comes from my perception of the staff. As a lifeguard, it was really odd for me to see lifeguard staff sitting around on stairs, taking off their hip packs, running while rotating, or just walking away from their stand without a guard tube in hand. They also seemed to have long conversations with other swimmers which distracted them. This was all very concerning to me, as Lifeguarding without the proper equipment or technique can be especially dangerous in pools like Rosemeade. read more

We had a GREAT time here! I was impressed that they have so many options for the little ones! I especially liked the smaller pool. I bridged the gap between a 5 foot adult pool and a 1 foot baby pool (which is what I'm used to seeing). The slides were great and varied in size, again wonderful for those kiddos who are too big for the baby areas but too small for adult areas. There were LOTS of seating options. We came to the pool at 12:30, and had no issue finding a place to lounge... Right in front of the medium sized pool My only criticisms: 1. Because they allow you to bring in food, there is massive amounts of trash surrounding the metal gates. I don't think patrons are purposefully littering, trash simply blows off the table faster than you can grab it before it disappears behind the gate. There is also a significant amount of trash in the pools as well. I personally pulled out 3 plastic baggies, a plastic straw and a plastic lid... Eew 2. While wading in the middle-sized pool, I was constantly entangled by clumps of long hair. In all my pool experiences, I've never been so swarmed! Double eew 3. Wish concession stand would take a card... I didn't feel comfortable carrying cash and leaving it in my bag while swimming in a different area read more

We love this place for the kids!! It's always clean and full of laughter and life. There are many different pools to swim in. There are large pools for the more advanced swimmers, a medium pool for beginners, a diving pool with boards, a large water slide for older kids and, our favorite, there's a toddler play area with smaller slides and entertainment for little ones as well as a small lazy river for everyone. If you're a resident it is super cheap to get in, which has made this our summer go-to place when my 2.5 year old wants to get out of the house. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star review instead of a 5 star review is that there seems to be some inconsistency among the life guards as to whether or not life jackets are required/allowed in certain areas. One life guard told my nephew he couldn't wear his life jacket in the lazy river, but when I asked another, they said it was fine. Which has made it a little confusing as to which areas the kids are allowed to wear life jackets and where they're not. That's the only place I see that could use some consistency and improvement. Otherwise, it is a perfect place to take your kids if you're not looking to spend a ton of money, but want the kids to have a fun day. read more

So it's 6/5/2017 we literally got here at 5 on the dot weren't able to even get in the pool before the lifeguards started telling everyone to get out because rain was heading our way. Okay that's fine totally understand but since we just got there we paid $20 2 adults and 2 kids residents and we tried to get a refund and the manager said they don't give refunds for bad weather.
