North Texas Adventure Ladies visit Hydrous Wake Park- Little Elm
    Outdoor A.

I think this is my 1st negative post about one of our adventures..... On Saturday, Adventure Ladies went to Hydrous - Lake Lewisvillefor a private 2 hour wakeboarding class. We were supposed to be in a private training area with a coach for 2 hours. We arrived and a nice young man helped us get set up with life jackets, boards and helmets. He then took us to a shelter area by the lake. We were by ourselves for a few minutes while he very briefly went over how to wakeboard. The line was getting longer to get on the cables so we just followed along not really knowing what we were doing. We were instructed a little more as we were waiting for our turn to connect to the cable and the other line of mostly very experienced guys were within a couple feet of us. The 1st few of us that went out did not know what to do when we fell. It was a little scary floating around in the lake trying to get back to shore with guys zipping around. The people that work there are very nice but I am disappointed we did not get the experience we paid for. Some of the ladies only tried it a couple times and one just left as we got started. It was a lot more difficult than we imagined but could possibly have been made a little easier with the right instruction. It was an adventure but not one I will be planning again for our group.

Place was awesome the staff were friendly and helpful the prices was good it was very fun and a thrilling experience and it's fun and fun and fun but it's mostly fun the aqua park is also fun it's a mini par core corse . Look for the gummy bear album in stores on November 13th with lots of music, videos and extras

    Getting ready to take off!

Everyone was very kind and encouraging with this being their first time wakeboarding! Hard work but they enjoyed it! Will definitely be back!

We have been visiting this place for years. Great Indoor/outdoor restaurant, wake park, and now water obstacle course for kids. Today,Immediately seated, ordered food, waited over an hour for food. Was comp free beer and 15% off food order. Told only two servers for food facility and one person preparing food. Food was good, no complaints. Server was very young person in the weeds. Manager apparently the bartender had a "could careless", poor attitude. As I watched her drink alcohol drinks and Red Bull from the bar.Enjoyed, as always the wake park. The concerning part. And families with children should note the water obstacle course is an accident, waiting to happen. No real life guards. They have a life guard stand and somebody sitting at the stand but as told he is not a life guard. The manager told me, "we only have to have one life guard for the property and they are at the wake park". The person that sat in the "life guard stand" talked to another person for almost an hour, no visualization of over 10 children. Then another person came to talk to him for over 20 mins- turns out he was the manager. See photos. We were told the owner was on site, at the restaurant, but never appeared to address the lack of supervision in the children's area.

My son attempting the main cable, it took him about 5 tries with good instruction from this guy.

Awesome place! Right across street from me. I was very scared to have my at the time 7 year old do this. Instructors were super patient and encouraging. Couldn't ask for better service. Convenient and relatively inexpensive. I even tried myself, I am 200+ pounds and was able to get the hang of it quickly. Every muscle in my body was sore but had a great sense if accomplishment! Good workout and fun! I would like to do those jumps one day.

After speaking with both of them and the owner saying in his own words to me "I can see why you are so upset I would be furious if that happened to me and my child" and then not fixing my issue - I feel as though I have a clear conscience leaving this review. I have an almost 3 year old who has taken group and private lessons at this facility. I felt the 1-2 year old slot was way below his level, but he wasn't able to do the 3 year old classes due to him needing more one in one attention. I agree with the assessment of him being taught the curriculum of the next level one on one until he was emotionally more mature and wouldn't be a distraction to other children in class. I certainly wouldn't want him to be the reason other kids didn't get the time they paid for because he isn't capable of standing and waiting his turn. Back to the reason for me being so disappointed and displeased with my overall experiences with Blast... on two different occasions my son showed up for preplanned private class makeups and on both occasions we were turned away because of a "front desk error" per their words where they double booked it. On both occasions my child was booked first and they were unable or unwilling to let him have his lesson and chose to let the other people take his spot. After the first occasion I was upset and asked to drop- the manager called me to smooth it over and suggested she refund me rather than reschedule. I agreed to this. Back in November the same thing happens again. I do not feel the front desk is competent to schedule, to direct families and control who is in the pool in a fair way and I feel their attitudes are accusatory, rude and completely unprofessional and unapologetic. They act as if I am out of line in asking for a refund when I have been mistreated and my son has been mistreated more than once. I have also experienced several rescheduling of days and several instructors in a short period of time. When new instructors came along I gave feedback that I didn't want to get anyone in trouble but that it seemed they had no idea how his class was to be structured at first. When you are paying almost $300 a month for private lessons- I feel like there should have been more training and an understanding before switching instructors. These are my top two reasons for my one star review. I wish I could have found a happy resolution but again - I spoke to both several times and never once got an apology. I hope if you go here you have a better experience. Also be warned or maybe just good to know that the manager is the mother of one of the main front desk people ... so when they say I'm calling the manager .... Don't expect the manager or mother to side with you - at least that's been my experience.

My oldest we have seen regress in swim since we moved here. He's been doing the same skills for two years! No changes or progression to more advanced skills. I also never get updates other than what I'm told at the end of class, which is literally the same thing each time. There's a high turn over for instructors here. If they actually show up to class they are late or unprepared. My "favorite" was the one who showed up late and laughed about the fact that she was late because she was hung over and slept in. Some of the employees are very unprofessional. They talk about customers within ear shot of other customers. It's incredibly inappropriate and immature. The facility itself is pretty disgusting. The bathrooms always have dead bugs on the floor and they reek of pee. The changing rooms have hair all over them and the drains don't drain well so you're often stuck standing in murky water. They have a new policy about makeups. If you cancel a class and try to make it up, they charge you $15. If THEY cancel your class, you can make it up but you're still charged $15! It's ridiculous the way you are nickel and dimmed. If you're looking for a place to babysit your kid at an expensive cost for 30 minutes, this is the place for you. If you are looking for somewhere that will actually teach your child to swim, I highly recommend going elsewhere

I was able to tag along to one of their classes recently. My daughter really likes the instructors that work with the girls and the time and attention given. I also like that they have a bunch of bright clean restrooms and I like that Emler is in such a nice location. I will say some members of the front desk staff could be more welcoming by taking a few seconds to look up from their computers to greet incoming students, parents and guests.

Management is helpful and attentive to my need to push her in certain areas and they take constructive criticism well. They're always trying to improve and asking what we like or don't about our time here. I have referred a couple friends and they also had positive experiences. At times the kids paired in the class don't seem to be as advanced as my kid and that can lead to slower times transitioning to the next exercise but overall we have had help with makeup classes, tailoring teaching methods to my kiddo and I've seen first hand how well they work with adaptive swim and special needs kids. I have done a lot of research on classes in the area and this is hands down the best option with the most flexibility and cost is reasonable. Best coaches for us have been Azul, Makayla, Patton, Natalie, and my daughter also likes Heidi however I feel they spend more time talking then learning so I have put notes in to limit that and redirect to skills work when it's just her and my kiddo in the pool. I don't like the 3 kids to 1 instructor but if the kids are all matched by skills and listen (it is a class. If your kids just wanna play or you can't get your kid to focus go to a public pool, don't waste my money and time with a coach having to constantly redirect your kid) it runs smoothly and each kid gets a solid 10min of swim time which is a decent time to perform skills and learn. We do 2x a week and that's better for us. The swim clinic seems to be more intensive and focused but I haven't tried it due to our schedule so I can't speak on that personally. Good luck and know that this is a key skill your kid NEEDS.

I work as a nurse and don't get the same days off every week. When I requested a different day of the week they pushed my withdrawal date back even farther and it will be more like 40 days, not 30. All they want to do is keep collecting that monthly payment, not teach your kid to swim. What a waste of money and time.

I'm giving SafeSplash Prosper (University Dr) one star because of how they handle and communicate…read moretheir billing. I enrolled my toddler in weekly lessons that start on **May 9**, yet my card was charged **$155 on April 18**. In other words, I was charged in mid‑April for a full month of lessons that don't begin until May 9. Nothing in the online enrollment flow or the Prosper pricing section made that timing clear in a straightforward way. The location page highlights simple monthly prices (for example, $120 based on a 4‑week month billed monthly per class), but it does not clearly state, in plain language on that same screen, that: - You will be **charged immediately at enrollment** for a full month of tuition, even if your first lesson is weeks away, and - Ongoing tuition is then **billed in advance** of future months. I only understood what happened after I went searching and eventually found SafeSplash's Terms & Conditions / School Policies page. That page is not obvious from the location or pricing section; you either have to notice a generic "School Policies" link in the footer or go hunting via search. Once you get there, the key billing information is buried deep in a long, legal‑style document, written in dense policy language instead of clear, parent‑friendly English. Buried in that text is the explanation that they take your first month of tuition at enrollment and then bill monthly on the 25th for the following month's lessons. That policy might be acceptable if it were plainly disclosed where parents actually sign up. The problem--and the reason for this review--is how hard it is to discover and understand these terms before you see a charge. This review is a reaction to the lack of up‑front clarity: it should not require digging through a hard‑to‑find, legally worded policy page to learn that you'll be billed weeks in advance of your child's first class. Based on my experience of being charged in April for May lessons and then having to reverse‑engineer the policy after the fact, I do not find their billing communication transparent or parent‑friendly, and I would not recommend this location.

On May 19th, I received a response back at 8:11am, that the trial lesson was approved for 6:30pm that evening with Carson. We arrive at SafeSplash located in LA Fitness in Frisco only to be advised we were not on their list for the day for trials. The young lady called her supervisor who also seem to have no knowledge, then I was requested to present confirmation email. I presented them email received and it was acknowledged by the young lady to her manager over the call. Then we were escorted to an area where the trainer, Carson arrived. He was pleasant and patient with my daughter during their session. However the beginning process should have been a red flag. Especially when no one had information of our account or information or appointment scheduled. To make matters worse, On May 19th I was also charged for the month of May in the amount of $84.50 . We had not even begin classes yet. We were still trying to get through the trial class to see if it worked for us. I thought we do the trial period then advise if we wanted to move forward, not the case. On May 24th which would have been the first date of class at 7:00 p.m. We arrived to check in and was advised that the class will be beginning momentarily. I asked was the teacher Carson available. He was the instructor listed on the schedule as well as he was the instructor she had during her trial and seemed to be comfortable. We were advised, Carson was not available and that there was another instructor. This was a bit confusing and baffling because my thoughts were that we were in a private class so it was only going to be two students being that my child had never taken lessons before and this is what I requested. However, we were advised to have signed up for group -beginner 1 when the class begin. They advised us that they're only four kids per group. This was also incorrect. There were families there for trial and other from all swim levels in the pool for this same class. I noticed as time progressed these children were a lot more experienced than my child and other children. I also noticed they were requested jump in the pool and my daughter was afraid so they look at me and then just skipped over her and went to the other students, then we came to swimming and rings was tossed in the water and two of the other children jumped in to the water to retrieve it and then it was my daughter turn once again and she said no that she didn't know how and the teacher looked at me again and proceeded to the other students. So I walked up to the instructor and asked what level are these children in and he advised Beginner 2. I advised that our schedule was for Beginner 1 with Carson at 7:00pm we were instructed to come to him. He verified my daughter on a board he had before class begin, he advised that he was sorry this was the list of names he was given. My daughter was frighten because she was asked to do things she was not experienced in doing nor was the time taken to show her. My husband and I were very frustrated of this experience. I then went back to the young lady at the table and requested to confirm the class that she sent us to she advised it was Beginner 1. I then advised her the gentleman in the water training the students advised it to be Beginner 2 class. I advised her this is dangerous and unorganized for the children. You are mixing the classes and experience levels and skipping over students that scared due to not having patience. Then another student came and the lady advised her mother that her class didn't begin until 7:30pm. They walked off then came back and she then joined the class, now it's 5 students to 1 teacher and the instructor advised "no" that it was too many kids and lady at the desk however insist and now there were 5 student of all ages and experience levels in the class. At that time I advised my daughter to get out of the pool. I went back to the young lady at the desk and request to terminate effective immediately and request to speak with a supervisor immediately. She advise I had to write my name and contact information on a piece of note book paper that will be presented to their supervisor and I would be getting a call in the morning,. No call received today, May 25th, however I noticed that my bank account was once again charged and this time it was for $99. I immediately called in regards to this and was advised the $99 was charge for June 2022 tuition. I was a bit confused why was June charged when I spoke with them on yesterday and advised to cancel effective immediately when they had my daughter in the wrong class the entire session and she was scared with no resolution to provide by apologies. The even more baffling part is that I was offered only get a 50% refund and the account will be terminated effective immediately. I advised, absolutely not. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!
