The coaches are amazing and there are many activities, including paddle tours like sunrisepaddle, sunset paddls and my Fridaynightpaddle and a pint. Called ahead of time because it's happened 3 times before where we reserve and they refund us because they closed early. This is the 4th time. Monday at 4:00 this location "closed". As soon as we walked into our cars, this same location rents out a kayak to another lady after saying it was closed. Don't waste your time coming here. Go find another location or buy your own kayak. Update: don't try to intimidate people with threatening our local guide status. They turned us away immediately upon walking up. Own up to it. I have 3 other people who were with me. Super disappointed in service last night. I'm never one to leave a bad review, but the guy running the stand last night was really unprofessional. When I first showed up to confirm the reservation, he greeted me, it was fine, I asked if it was okay that my friend was running late. We weren't going to go past closing hours and he reminded me of that, I agreed and was in the middle of a sentence when he cut me off and addressed the family waiting behind me. Our interaction was maybe a minute long. That ticked me off a little, but whatever. My friend gets there with her 9 month old puppy (who was amazing on her paddleboard), and the same employee that was a jerk has his two dogs off leash. One is a boxer, senior, the other is small terrier. They both run at us as we approach. I had to physically push the dogs away as my friend picked up her puppy and tried to hold her up and away from them. And this guy took his sweet time collecting those dogs. Why tf are your pet dogs off leash??? When you're working? And they messed with client dogs? As a professional in the dog industry, no matter the fact that it didn't (luckily) escalate, it 100% could have. Not only are you putting your OWN dogs in danger, loose in a parking lot, but you are putting other people and their dogs adhering to the law in danger. This guy then proceeded to AGAIN remind us of our cut time. Are we stupid? He apologized in a half-assed embarrassed way, but seriously dude? You're like 40 running this stand with a bunch of college kids. Get it together. Overall super annoyed since I really like this place, but this was just ridiculous. I really hope whoever runs this re-evaluates this guy's employment. read more

Don't waste your money and buy an inflatable. It's wayyyyyy more worth it! I paid for two years straight and finally cancelled. I was only able to go during the summer(of course) and it's $60+ a month for the whole year. Recently I decided to go and forgot I cancelled and was not allowed to get on a paddle board because the teenager working wanted to leave. I even offered to pay for a membership again a she said i would have to fill out a form AGAIN, but she wanted to leave so she didn't offer to wait. She turned away other non members who just wanted to paddle and pay too. Mind you, this was before they closed and with over 2 hours of sunlight left. Super disappointed and I miss the old personable staff. The photo is from my friends inflatable paddle board because I ended up having to go on a board with them because the teenage girl was ready to close shop early on a Friday evening. What a great time!! Hubby and I rented Stand Up Paddle Boards for 1hr and we had a great time! It was my hubby's first time and only my second time, but we picked it up quick. We had a 6pm rental on a Saturday night and were surprised to find it wasn't too crowded on the lake. We arrived about 30min early and thought we'd check in, see if we could head out earlier and we did! Signed waivers, grabbed fanny pack style life vests, carried our paddle boards down to the water, were given a few tips and instructions and off we went. We stayed closer to the shoreline since there were jet skiers and boats in the center and the wakes they provided were a bit much for us to navigate standing up, but we still had a great time and a great workout! I would strongly recommend trying DFW Surf at Little Elm either by yourself, with friends or for a romantic sunset paddle read more

If you want to learn to Paddleboard this is the place to go. When you arrive you will sign your waiver and then go put your things in a locker that's provided. Then head down to the lake where the paddleboards are lined up along the lake. An employee will get you set up with a life vest/belt and paddle. After going over some basic info it's time to get on water. You will start out on your knees to get a feel for it. Once you are away from the water edge, the instructor will show you how to stand up and paddle. It's great to at least try to stand but if it's more fun for you to stay seated then that's perfectly fine too. Alex helped us and he was so patient. Wonderful rental facility! My daughters and I rented double kayaks for an hour. It was perfect. The owner is from Hawaii so he knows everything about water sports! Friendly and helpful staff are there is assist and answer questions. The prices for kayaks, paddle boards and others are reasonable. I think we'll try the surfing next time. Tyler gave me a lesson & within minutes of me making adjustments he saw that I needed to change, I had improved instantly. I started coming here in April for Paddle N Pints and found my place on this planet is on the water. I cancelled my gym membership and started a DFW Surf membership. I'm out here at least twice a week enjoying both the Surf n Turf fitness class to start my week (Monday night) and the Paddle N Pints (Friday night) to end it. There are so many classes and so much to do and you make friends unlike the local gym where no one talks to anyone, everyone here is so friendly and personable. Did I mention they have bikes? This was a great activity for a summer day . We did SUP. It was fun and surprisingly easy. We booked for LE Beach, but the beach was shut down unexpectedly. They seamlessly and cheerfully rebooked us in Frisco , and even allowed us to be a little late because of the change in venue . Quick tutorial on the shore , and we were ready to go. It was our second time going to DFW surf renting kayaks for the weekend. We had a glorious time with beautiful weather the equipment was fantastic and did it's job. The staff was super nice and friendly and very informative and able to work with us on short notice which allowed us to book a reservation for the next time we came and be well prepared to go and enjoy our morning kayaking adventure! we plan on going every other weekend now and DFW surf @ hidden Cove has been the best place with friendly faces! read more

Sooooooo fun and laid back !!! My Husband and I reserved 2 kayaks for 2 hrs. We got there, checked in, they have free lockers you can use with a personal code, and we were off. We know how to kayak, but if you're new the guy was super nice and willing to wander any questions we may have had. There are no limits as to where you can go, but he did advise us about weather conditions and where the wind was strongest. We had a blast and can't wait to make this a regular thing. He is open during the week, Yelp and google says he's closed during the week. Hopefully that gets changed. read more

I took the basics in paddle boarding class in Little Elm. I was dissatisfied with several things. First, the class location is not descriptive enough. My GPS could not find the location, so I called for directions. It would have been helpful to know that the class was inside a park and also that there was a $10 fee to get in. 2. The area where you launch your paddle board is full of broken glass, which is dangerous to customers who are barefoot. 3. The instructor was knowledgeable, but she didn't help me much. I needed to learn basic paddling skills, but I didn't. I did learn basic safety techniques. If you are considering taking a class, I would take one at a different location. This was definitely not worth the money. read more

It was our first time going kayaking and he gave us a run down and answered our questions and sent us on our way. I have attempted to come try this Sup location out for a few months now. They are very friendly and helpful but I felt like the influx of patrons during the summer holidays and the increase in over all popularity has caused them to have (every time I've been or called ahead) a freak bolt of lightning within the radius they no longer allow anyone to go out onto the lake. Now this could very well be legitimate...but it seems unlikely. I always try to come closer to their closing time (not right at closing) so that the Heat isn't quite so intense. I'll keep trying to rent here but I'm currently not optimistic about my odds of success. read more

Had a blast! We rented a 2 person kayak at the Little Elm location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is we had to pay for parking. Little Elm park district charges $10 for parking on the weekends, no matter what activity you're doing or how long you're staying. Might be good to give people the heads up on the DFW Surf website since you have to pay with cash! read more

The employees and the boat were really nice but they basically guaranteed that I would be able to wake surf by the end of my one hour appointment and I could not. Then one of the employees said they would give me another session for free and when I contacted them asking about it they tried to make me pay again! I have surfed in north shore of Hawaii. I am not the best surfer but I should have easily been standing up and was very frustrated that they basically lied to me about giving me another session for free. It was really expensive and I was just really disappointed and frustrated honestly. I had hoped to actually join their club that gets together and surfs one a month but I couldnt even stand so that would have been pointless. read more

My daughter and I took the beginner SUP class at the Frisco location in July 2019, and it was well worth the time and money. The class was much more informative than I expected. The instructors were very friendly, helpful, and made the class fun. By the end of the class, we both felt very comfortable on the boards. It was a great experience--so much so that we returned the following weekend to rent boards again. I can't think of anything that I'd suggest they do differently, and I would definitely recommend this location! read more
