We made a reservation for a 1 hour double kayak and a paddle board. The morning of our reservation, our 3rd person decided not to come and the staff at lone star were so accommodating, they gave us a credit for the paddle board for us to use next time. The staff were so warm and welcoming, they made the check in process so smooth and we were out on the water within a few minutes. This was our first time at the lake and they gave us an overview of where to paddle, etc., as well. Over all a wonderful experience, and we will be back again with some friends. It's a beautiful lake with vibrant nature. A great way to spend the day!

Peter at Lonestar Adventure Sports is phenomenal. He set me up with an excellent captain for my very first outing on a Hobie Getaway catamaran, and I was instantly hooked. I haven't been sailing in years but the team made me very comfortable and excited to get to do this again. After my 1hr sailing trip with Captain Chad, Peter introduced me to Captain David, and let me tell you--this man is the real deal. On Sunday, he took me under his wing and walked me through the rigging and setup of a Hobie cat, generously sharing his knowledge and passion while we prepared one of his boats for the water. Although the wind wasn't in our favor that day and we didn't get to sail, I left feeling incredibly grateful. I thought that was the end of the adventure--until I received a text from Peter inviting me back out on Tuesday. As luck would have it, my work schedule shifted, and I was able to join them. The wind was perfect, and we had three boats on the water, sailing in sync and enjoying every minute. It was an unforgettable experience. When I wrapped up that day, I left not only with a renewed love for sailing but with some new friends as well. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in Dallas. There were 11 of us in my group including 5 children. None of us had ever used a paddle board. Kevin trained us up and had us on boards in 15 minutes. His instruction was seamless and no one had any issues except me! Lol i fell off my board more times than everyone in my group combined. Penny realized that I needed to use the 12ft board and once I used it, I had no issues standing. I am 6 ft tall, so it makes a difference which board you use. Kevin and Penny stayed in the water with us the entire time and were patient and calm. I can't wait to return with my daughter - a really great way to spend a warm afternoon.

I've been on a paddle board before but Kevan's instructions helped me be more efficient. Both my friend and I felt like we learned something new. There were 4 other people at the same time as our lesson but it was fine. Kevan showed us the ropes and gave each group assignments. No one fell in. Speaking of that, while you might not necessarily fall in I would say it's best to wear something that will get wet. Even sitting on the board you'll get damp. So swimsuit or athletic shorts and shirts that dry quick are great. There's also a lot of good restaurants walking distance so stay a while and enjoy the area. You can also stay at the Omni or several other hotels and walk there. Highly recommend! Have fun!

So my wife, daughter and I tried our hand at it. We had the most fun ever. It was special because it was my wife's was birthday. This was something she always wanted to try and I for one was glad that we all did. Ms. Theresa, was the person in charge of the rental place. Mr. Patrick who was a volunteer at the TCPaddlesports was really helpful as well. The only set back for me is that they have no changing rooms the portable potty is dirty and they have to put up the toilet paper so it won't be stolen. Since this is a nonprofit rental place the have no changing rooms. My advice is if you get there before they open and you need to use rest room. Make sure you have personal hand sanitizer and toilet paper. The price for an hour outing was $60.00. Ms. Theresa was truly awesome and very welcoming. Thank you Ms. Theresa, you made it fun.

They gave us clear instructions of what to do, gave us life jackets and helped us in and out of the water. Whenever we got back- I told Libby how my shorts were wet from getting in the kayak (there was left over water in the kayak) and she ran and got me a towel and allowed me to take it home ! The sweetest !! They have a little parking lot on both sides of the rental area so it's easy in and out (free parking). In terms of renting the kayaks- they offer 10% off for all students, teachers and military. For the hour it was only $20. I felt like it was a fun nature activity. I also love that a small portion of their funds go back to support local Dallas communities and parks. Can't wait to go back and do it again!

The parking is public and we didn't have any issues for our three cars. The location was very easy to find; right next to the boat ramp. The staff was inviting and helpful. We signed our waivers, hopped in, and James shoved us off to leave us up to our own adventure. Will definitely do it again! Please note it is credit card only. Dogs are allowed but must have a life jacket. Also, if it is too windy they have to shut down operations--about 25 mph, so it may be best to check conditions or call in advance.
