There was also a person handing out free taster frozen whiskey shooters. Pretty kid friendly. I brought my 2 and 4 year old to meet up with another family from out of town with young kids. A little loud during the World Cup, but seating was plentiful on a Thursday night and they had a few kid friendly food options (grilled cheese, pizza, quesadillas, chicken nuggets and fries). Parking was easy as there's a covered parking garage attached to the hotel and I think I only paid $1 for 2 hours of parking. There's also a small water splash pad outside for kids to run through and cool down on a hot summer day. Cool spot.

Not knowing the area, I booked the Hyatt Place Grapevine because it was located near DFW and had plenty of places within walking distance. The hotel rooms are exactly what you would expect from a Hyatt Place: clean, comfortable, and well designed for a short stay. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, which made an already stressful travel day much easier. I also appreciated that the hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle, although it is worth noting that service ends at 11:00 p.m. The gym is great, the little market is convenient, and for a one-night stay, it met all of my needs. Having restaurants and shopping nearby was an added bonus and made it easy to relax without needing a rental car. If I ever find myself needing to stay near DFW again, I would not hesitate to book this hotel.

Additionally, Irene's Bakery--the bakery the venue partners with--was fantastic! The cake was delicious and delivered right on time. We also worked with DJ Ivan, who did an amazing job! The room was set up exactly according to the floor plan we had discussed. There was plenty of staff on hand, ensuring that both the head table and every guest table were well taken care of. David worked with the schedule of other parties, as well as our availability, and made it possible for us to setup before the wedding rehearsal. We got the much-needed rehearsal, and my daughter got a first look at the decorated venue. She was very VERY happy. The day of the event, everything was perfect when we walked in. We were able to get into the Ballroom early for dressing, pictures, etc. Timing was never an issue as, we spoke with David beforehand and he made everything come together for us. The parking lot was clean, well lit and not terribly far from the venue. Upon entering I stopped by the bathroom for a quick mirror check. Gorgeous decor, new fixtures and flooring, clean. After the bathroom, I headed to the main banquet room where the formal dining was to take place as well as the happy hour portion. There were only 2-3 bartenders but it wasn't an issue. No wait longer than 90 seconds and the staff was extremely helpful. The outside foyer was gorgeous and heated for those who wanted to partake in the outer bar. Food was delicious. Overall, I'm giving it 5 stars - well deserved!
