We wanted to do something fun with the kids. We originally planned to rent from another business…read morebut they didn't do rentals because of the lake flooding. They recommended we try Sam's Dock. The hours of the business say they close at 8 pm. No where on their site or at their location do they state the last rental was at 6 pm. We arrived at 6:02 and the woman wouldn't rent a jet ski to us. It was disappointing for the kids but we decided to return the next day. We arrived with plenty of time to rent a jet ski. There were 5 of us but it turns out we can't rent a jet ski for 3. Because of this, we didn't want to leave one child alone at the dock so we opted to rent one jet ski and my husband took the kids out to the lake one at a time. We sat at the restaurant, which was closed, in between the kids' turns. The minimum rental is 2 hours on the jet skis and you have to pay for gas on top of the rental fee. This was a surprise to us. We ended up having to pay an extra $50+ for the gas for 2 hours. Just be aware of that. This side of the lake there wasn't any parking fee so that was good. I think they provided us with a military discount, which was great. My husband mentioned the young man didn't know how to use the point of sale computers either. It took at least 30 minutes to check in and pay before getting on the jet ski so make sure to factor in that your timing.

Rented a boat here. Reserved the boat weeks in advance. Get…read morethere and they had the reservation incorrect. So they give us some pontoon boat that is in horrible shape literally falling apart and in disrepair. It had dozens of big cockroaches come out of the well, the fender was literally falling off of it and needing screwed back in. Also there were very dangerous screws hanging off it that someone could have easily ended up in the hospital over. What's worse is the young dark haired kid that receives the boats back in was rude and when we wanted to bring up these safety issues when returning the boat not only did not care to listen was rude and walked off while trying to explain the safety issues on the boat we had rented. Simply did not care About safety of their future guests. Did not have the time or customer service skills and did not take the safety seriously literally walked off while we were trying to explain the issues with the boat. Because of that last one. The safety issue, and because of the roach infestation, we cannot recommend this boat rental or marina. Roach infestations And lack of focus on safety are both showstoppers.
