Designed with an all white palate, the space is large enough to accommodate a modest - sized event(under 200) while still feeling intimate. I believe the space is owned and operated by Creative Arts Catering so you are required to use thier services. Their food is excellent though so that would be a non issue for me. My only complaint was with the parking. There were only about 20 parking spaces directly in front of the building and the caterer had their delivery trucks occupying about 5 of those precious few (not a good look at a formal event). Definitely check them out if you're event space shopping on the North side.

We couldn't have picked a better person than Lilian to be our contact. She was patient with our many questions and changes. Even at the last minute, we had to add an 8 person table top and she had it set up in minutes and without disruption. Servers were flawless and the atmosphere received many compliments from the attendees. I highly recommend Nuvo for any celebration you may have. They will stay on the top of OUR list for future needs.

Peerless was contracted to provide a tent with heating and lighting for our ceremony on Dec 8th…read more Our coordinator had worked with them before and recommended them due to the last-minute booking (the weather wasn't looking good for our outdoor ceremony, so we pulled the trigger the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding. Jennifer, the main sales person, was easy to work with and sent a team out to our venue (The Filter Building) during the week to make sure that the tent would work. She confirmed that everything looked good and that there was plenty of power to support the heaters/lighting. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. First, the set-up crew didn't know what time to set up, despite it being in the notes. When they got there, they didn't know where the tent was supposed to be - again, despite it being in the notes we reviewed with Jennifer. Once the tent was set up, they realized the heater was broken. We didn't get another one until 3pm (wedding was at 4pm and the Peerless team told us that the heaters had to be on for at least 2 hours for the tent to be heated at all). They were told by maintenance to use the various plugs on the back wall (i.e. not to plug everything into one outlet). However, that's exactly what they did, and when the heater was plugged in, it popped the breaker. Then, the Peerless set-up team left, saying it wasn't their issue. Due to timing, we had to move forward with the ceremony. The tent was cold and the lights kept going off (one of the coordinator's team members was upstairs with the breaker to flip it every time it kicked off). After we finished and went upstairs for our private moment, we both looked at each other and said, "What a shit show." The tent was also supposed to be used for the cocktail hour, which didn't happen because it was cold and dark. Once the ceremony was done, my coordinator and the maintenance man started to look into the set-up and realized that the Peerless team had plugged all the heaters and lighting into one extension cord that went to one outlet. I'm no electrician, but I do know that when you overload a circuit, you will pop the breaker. Once they saw this and replugged stuff in using the other available outlets on the back patio, the heather and lighting worked great and the breaker didn't pop. Unfortunately, this was 2 hours into the evening, so no one used the tent anyway. When we were having issues, we couldn't get a hold of Peerless, despite them having an emergency line. When they finally called back, they offered to bring out a generator (that we would be charged for) but couldn't get it out there until 7 or so (again, ceremony was at 4). Then, when we tried to contact the company after the fact to discus what happened and get a refund, it took weeks to get a call back. We finally got connected with the owner, Matt Cosby, who essentially said that they weren't responsible for the set-up. I'm sure if the tent had blown away due to faulty set-up, they wouldn't have been responsible for that either. We requested half of our $4K back. He accused us of trying to take advantage of him - an interesting approach to customer service. After much haggling, we finally agreed to a refund of $1.3K, which was given begrudgingly. Our coordinator told them that they have lost her business, and I have advised my friends who are getting married to steer clear. If you are lucky enough to have everything go right, I'm sure you will have a great experience. But know that they have inexperienced team members who don't know how to do a proper set-up, and if that goes awry, they will take no responsibility. For your wedding or any other event, it's worth it to go somewhere else.

I had my wedding reception at this venue a year ago today (November 2024). For about 90 minutes the…read morepower went out in the entire building. My wedding reception was held on the 7th floor. When the power went out, there were guests who were stuck in the elevator... For 90 minutes! The Dallas Fire Department had to come and extricate people from all 4 elevators. Some people were forced to climb up 7 flights of stairs to get to our floor. Other guests ended up leaving the wedding altogether because we just never knew WHEN the lights and power were going to come back on. There was no back up generator or power source that the building could draw from. We were not able to start the wedding reception until AFTER 10pm! There was a quinceañera on another floor, and a 70th birthday party being held on a different floor. Everyone had NO POWER! (To be fair, when my mother came to check out this venue the week before the wedding, she said she had to take the stairs down, b/c the power went out then too - in the middle of the day!!!!) So for over 1 hour, our vendors were not able to serve our 400 wedding guests! I lost an hour of service from every single vendor - which ended up totaling over $12,000 lost. When I contacted the owners of the venue, they refused to take any accountability, saying they were not at fault. They refused to refund us even a fraction of the amount that we were owed. They refused that they owed us anything at all! We spent months trying to work out an agreement / negotiate compensation with the owner, to no avail. Nothing. Not even a dime. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHOOSE ANY OTHER VENUE FOR YOUR EVENT! IT'S NOT WORTH WASTING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY... SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA AND BOOK YOURSELF A DECENT VENUE. I would give this place 0/5 stars if I could. I highly do NOT recommend.

Enough times now, when I call or text they do not ask for my name or address. We usually rent one for our BBQ's, New Years, birthday party's, and family get togethers. I can't say enough positive things about Top Shelf. Their mix drink quality is awesome. We have tried numerous of their mixes in the past. And haven't found one that was bad yet. Their machines have alway been very clean from top to bottom. Not once have they ever dropped off machine that was sticky any where or had left over residue in the tanks. Most of all for me it's an old school company. They are very professional and have amazing customer service. No up sales or hidden after cost. What your told is the price. We have used numerous other places in the past. So from experience a lot of places advertise a lower price. But after you buy the mixes and rent the 5 gallon jug blah blah. You end paying the same price or more. And no where near the quality of drinks or level of customer service. Plus worse of all other vendors have shown up with a dirty, sticky machine or with residue in the tanks from the last party. We end up having to clean their machine for them. Before we can even use the machine. Top Shelf as a courtesy will mix the Margarita mixes up for you. And get the machine started for you. I like to mix my own. So you don't have to worry if you mixed it right or worry about the drinks being served. Other places won't even do that. They drop the machine off and tell you to read the bottle and adios. We won't use anyone but Top Shelf from here out! I know it was long but I believe helping out the companies that go the full mile and you got what your paid for.
