Wow what an AMAZING experience!!! This was my first time flying in an air balloon and now I can cross it off on my bucket list! We met up with the flight crew at 6am at the marketplace nearby and we got in their van to head to the departure point. The meeting time is decided based on the sunrise time so in winter, they meet later (around 7am). They do confirm if your appointment is a go on the day before after checking the weather. While they prepared to depart, their crew took some photos of us and we left (wow it was so scary at first!). It was surprisingly stable inside the bucket. Our flight was around 15 miles and 1.5 hours. We went so close to the lake and touched the water too. It was so matinal to fly over the city and see the sunrise. Our pilot Brian was amazing and he was also a great photographer. He took so many photos of us and uploaded everything on Dropbox just an hour later of our arrival. After the flight, the crew prepared a small picnic table for us while they put away the balloon. Apparently it's a tradition to drink champagne after an air balloon ride. Finally checked this off my bucket list and Rohr Balloons made it a memorable experience. Great communication from date of purchase to date of lift off. You meet at public location and all Rohr employees that will be with you are introduced. They select a safe location to set up balloon and take you there in their clean vans. Once at site, you can participate in helping set up the balloon and they also take really fun, colorful pictures of riders. The lift off was smooth and the views right away were beautiful. The ride was calm and peaceful. We flew for about an hour and the pilots guided us for the landing. They warned it could be a little bumpy, but our pilot did a great job and it was quite smooth with a few little hops of the basket. I highly, highly recommend riding with Rohr Balloons. read more

The people who issued the previous review -- well I'm not sure what their issue was. Brian maintained constant communication leading up to the flight. Since flying is highly weather-dependent, he had to cancel one day (a Friday), but was able to put us up the following Sunday. When he said he would call, he did, which is vitally important when planning for child care and what-not. Now to the flight. His team was punctual at the meeting place, and made cordial introductions. Brian was the last to arrive (about 5-10 mins till 3), and issued a very warm greeting, remembering me from the phone calls. He took us to the launch site, explained what was going on, and then fired up the balloon. Anyone who wanted to help was welcome to do so. The flight was excellent, and we went up before, and landed after other balloons that took off from our general vicinity. Brian's humor, wit, and knowledge of ballooning in general made for a wonderful flight. His crew was also top-notch making sure that we were all comfortable before the flight. I fully anticipate I'll fly with him again, and would recommend him to anyone who wanted to fly. read more

On Friday, my wife and I had the most wonderful hot-air balloon ride with Rohr Balloons! We were celebrating or wedding anniversary, and it was the first balloon ride for each of us. I researched multiple balloon ride companies in the Dallas area before choosing Rohr. I quickly figured out that I did not want to go with the big adventure trip resellers, which were impersonal and expensive, compared with the actual locally-owned companies that provide the trips themselves. And of these companies, Rohr was the friendliest and most accommodating (I called only a few days before I wanted to go, and Mr. Rohr fit us in), as well as the most inexpensive. Better than expected! I only say that because I didn't know how I would do with heights and only have the basket to save me. It was so worth it! You don't even think about it because there is so much to see. We didn't really know that it would be much more than what you see in movies, but it really was much more as you could see the countryside and see some of the farm animals and white tail deer bounce about that you don' t really get to see everyday in the city. Pilot and staff I give 5 stars to as well. They took way more pics than ever expected and gave the best customer service than any other Dallas excursion I have ever had.
