We have been going to GWL for nearly a decade. With our large family we spend thousands of dollars each stay. We usually go once or twice a year and are voyager club members. Our reservation was placed on 3/9/26 (yesterday) for check in 3/17/26 (8 days from reservation date) at 4pm. This morning (3/10/26) we received notice about a school activity and immediately reached out to cancel. This is the GWL Standard Change and Cancellation Policy: Guests making a reservation eight or more days from their arrival date have 24 hours in which to modify or cancel a reservation with no penalties or fees. So after waiting on hold for 20+ minutes we finally were put in contact with a representative to assist in our cancelation. We were informed that since the "call for cancelation" was in less than 8 days of reservation they were going to charge $100 fee! I referenced the verbiage from THEIR CONFIRMATION LETTER that states if I cancel within 24hours (keep in mind reservation was placed last night and I am now canceling at 9:30 in the morning) there would be no penalty or fees since reservation date was 8 days from check-in. After several used car salesman tactics of "let me check with management", I was informed that the normal $100 fee would be reduced to $50. I don't understand how there is a fee at all if we are in adherence to the guidelines stated on their confirmation letter. Each stay there have been more and more hidden fees but we kept coming back because of nostalgia. However it is clearly apparent with the decline in upkeep, predatory fees, long hold times, lack of ability to modify reservation on website or in app - they do not care about their customers regardless if new or returning. I asked for confirmation of cancelation and proof of refund in writing. What I received was a pdf of a cancelation notice, no official company logo or letterhead which seems pretty shady. I took a screen shot of app showing reservation as canceled. We will not be returning. 0 stars - do not recommend. Go to Epic instead or save up and go to Kalahari. But GWL - Never again read more

The overall experience was okay, but it could have been much better. I met a really nice lifeguard named Camdon or Cadon; I'm not sure which. I only glanced at his name tag. He was great and definitely deserves a raise. That's why I generously gave 3 stars. The Starbucks there is terrible! Do not spend your money there. It costs the same as a regular Starbucks, but the coffee tastes awful. None of the slides shut down while I was there, which was a plus. The lines moved faster than on previous visits, so it wasn't too bad. Some lines still took a while, though. A really rude lifeguard named Patrick made my trip less enjoyable. He would often yell at us for things beyond our control, like coming down the slide backward at the end. When we went on the toilet bowl ride, we also went down backwards at the end of the spinning, and he told us we would be kicked out if we went backwards again. But many people, including us, naturally went backwards on that ride, so it's not like we were doing anything wrong. Also, as you can see in the pictures you added, we were going up some stairs and there was a wild roach. That is disgusting. Overall, the experience was okay. There were ups and downs, but when it was good, it was really fun. read more

The best place for family to vacation. It's all in one place which makes it so fun and easy on every family. Water park, adult jacuzzi, build a bear, arcade, restaurants, free kids activities and dance parties, mining for gems. This place has it all! Meet and greet animal character and dance parties were a hit. The pool area is amazing and a ton of fun!!!! The food here is delicious and the restaurant by the lobby (buffet) was DELICIOUS. We had an amazing experience. Of course with any vacation spots there are pros and cons. CONS: The scheduling and cancelation is strict and ridiculous. The worst part is allowing anyone to put there card on file if it's for a kids day or christmas present for families. They make it a hassle to do things. Lastly the pools are NOT heated which tucked in the winter. The pool area is warm but the pools are cold which really is upsetting. They should be heated. Jacuzzi are barely hot also. read more

have taken my kids 4-5 times and yes it's overpriced but they always had fun so I continued to take them. I will not be taking them again after this trip scheduled. Great wolf does not care about the safety of their customers only about money even though they charge an absurd rate to families anyways. Grapevine is being hit with a massive ice storm expecting power outages and no travel and instead of being understanding of why people would need to reschedule they CHARGE A FEE just to reschedule and then make you pay over your previous rate to book. Their lack of customer service was outstanding. Not to mention I was on hold for an hour before I could get through to talk to someone. read more

We hosted a birthday party for our daughter here. She was turning 16 and invited 4 friends. They had a great time and no issues. GWL is geared toward younger guests but worked for older kids as well. It's decorated for the holiday season so that was nice as well. My only complaint is the elevators. If you're targeting young families you should have more elevators for them and all the stuff. For us it made sense to just use the stairs. Come with lots of patience for little kiddos and running through the halls!! read more

The longer we deal with the hotel the lower the rating is getting. We separated half the family flew and other half stayed a couple days longer. That's where the hotel went sideways. We paid for extra days with the understanding from staff that the rest of fam would simplify transfer from the old room to the new room without any difficulty or wait. Couple hours later they were still living in a hall. The hotel has provided no accommodation no care and we won't use their facilities again save the aggravation and stay elsewhere. The pluses of the Great Wolf don't equal the cons of the Great disaster. read more

My kids really loved it here. It's expensive for what it is, the carpet in the room was wet upon arrival and everything smelled moldy, even six floors up. Food is expensive too, a hamburger dinner for four, skipping two of the fries and a drink was $72. My biggest beef was the idiot at check-in. The goateed staff member messed up the process, looked up the wrong person's reservation, and tried telling me I arrived the wrong month(!?!!!). Idk what else I could've done-- I booked directly through the hotel, spelled my (short) last name to the fool, and even offered to read off the confirmation number. It wasted 45 minutes and upset my children. He also messed up the wristbands and they didn't work. A subsequent visit later to Aliyah (who was incredible!) tried to remedy the issue but ultimately the bands were useless throughout our 3 day stay. She gave us a meal voucher though. My kids were extremely happy though and that's what matters. Check in could've been better, and most of the hotel staff can't speak English, so you'll be forced to return to the lobby for follow up queries. This place needs major upgrade. We did the self check in and valet. Valet is $38 per day and only 1 person operates it, definitely cannot keep up with the crowds. I tried to buy a wolf pass on their app and it didn't work, so I had to go to front desk to purchase it, which was a 45-minute wait. They had 3 receptionists out 7 front desks, multiple people in their back office but just didn't come out to help. The elevators are so outdated, minimum 5 -15 minutes wait. 1st to 4th floor are for MagiQuest, so hordes of kids took the elevators and stairs at the same time, if you live above 4th floor, good luck trying to get in an elevator. The food is overpriced and ok tasting, burgers, fries and pizzas, they are definitely geared for kids but don't expect healthy food for parents. The pretzelmaker is good but high price. It is better to go outside to get food. Starbucks had a long waiting line in the morning, I waited an hour to get my coffee, there were 40 people in line and only 3-4 baristas. Indoor water playground are fun for adults and kids. We also got built a bear, rope course, mining experience and MagiQuest, which are fun. Housekeeping is on demand. I requested the service once out of my 3-day stay. However, they only cleaned the microwave halfway area and one bathroom in our suite, and forgot about the 2nd bathroom, living room and 2 bedrooms. They did a half-ass cleaning, I never see anything like this before. I know I would spend a fortune here and everything was overpriced, which I don't mind if you give me quality service and my kids are happy, but the rundown place and lack of staff don't justify the cost at all. We traveled to GWL, this past weekend on Sunday for an annual outing . It was my little cousins birthday. We always celebrate around the holidays with all the cousins. I want to recognize Jonathan Orona and his employee Laine who was an amazing waiter, forgot his last name. I have never seen 2 people go above and beyond as these two gentlemen did. The Great Wolf Lodge Resort in the Dallas area is located in Grapevine, Tx. The area is very nice with lots of shopping and dining and was decorated very nicely for the Christmas Holidays. The Great Wolf Lodge was too. The water park, which is the primary attraction of the resort, is a kid's wonderland. The water slides, pools and water attractions are a lot of fun. The whole of the resort seems very clean and well maintained. I felt safe with a strong life guard presence in the water feature areas - which we really appreciated given we traveled here with our 5 & 7 year old kids (who are proficient swimmers). The reason this otherwise fantastic resort deserves the rating of a 2 from me is because of the beds! Despite the fact that the water feature is why one comes here - there is NO EXCUSE for a hotel charging upwards of $300/night (or even anything over $150) to provide guests with a subpar bed. We are members of DVC (Disney Vacation Club) and we have never visited a Disney resort that had a bed like this. The bed felt like what I've experienced at a Motel 6. Motel 6 beds are fine when you pay for Motel 6 - but there is zero reason to expect that kind of bed in a place like this. We are experienced travelers and have been all over the world. I was shocked to find that this place would even place a bed like this in one of its resorts. Unacceptable. I admit we took one of the last 4 rooms available and that there may be other rooms that have better beds, but again I am SHOCKED that this bed would be in ANY room of this hotel, given the prices charged. The resort may have world class water features and amenities - but it has classless beds - at least in our room. If you expect a nice bed - go somewhere else. I hate to say it - but I feel pretty certain that I won't be returning to this resort (or another of their other locations) given the poor quality of the mattress in our room. Such a shame, really, that the resort would allow subpar beds to be placed in its resort and 100% avoidable. (As an addendum, we ran into friends who also stayed during the same time we were here and have been several times - they said every room they've been in is the same kind of bed). One other annoying issue was that the toilet in the room did not reliably flush. The water pressure seemed to be an issue and this caused the need to flush at least twice between uses. The toilet tank filled slowly, which meant you had to wait a bit between flushes. Totally first world problems, I admit - but when living in the first world and paying first world prices - I feel folks should know our experience if it would help them avoid this kind of experience, if they expect more from their guest room experience. To end the review on a positive note - we purchased a breakfast buffet package for our family and it was well worth it. The buffet included an omelet station, pastries, hot breakfast items, fresh fruit, cereal (and drinks were included in the pre-purchase package). The best part was our wait staff, Carolyn G. She was a fantastic wait person - friendly and accommodating and very welcoming of our family. I changed the overall rating of the resort based on my interaction with Carolyn G. The bed we had was awful - but the customer service from Carolyn was world class! She deserves a raise! My family loves GWL but I'm not as sold as they are. Maybe because I'm the one who sees the bill, lol. It is definitely worth experiencing the full effect (hotel, buffet, arcade, and water park) at least once. After that, though, you may get more out of doing less - day pass, skip the overpriced arcade, eat outside of the facility. We've done that before and it's a less jagged financial pill to swallow. There are just several things GWL does weakly compared to other water parks. The wave pool does not produce waves. You barely undulate at all. There really are only 5 cool slides to go on - 4 if your kids aren't tall enough. I haven't even experienced the park in full because there's always a short-staff issue so they don't open the slides outside. The lazy river is the smallest I've ever seen. And, of course, price gouging. Subpar food is served at the buffet for $18/pp. $20 worth of arcade credits lets you play about 8 games only. A fun hotel room with a bunkbed for the kids eats up your savings in two nights and the rooms are nothing to sing home about. Again, day pass this place and bring your own food. Or you could hit up Hawaiian Falls/Waters and get way more bang for your buck. read more

We enjoyed our stay very much! Kids loved the water and the magiquest. Lots of extras to do other than the water park (for more money of course). While the rooms do have some issues (older furnishings and dripping faucets), the renovated lobby was great! Loved the luggage trolley provided so you can easily get your things to the rooms. Customer service was not bad, mostly friendly faces. TV channels and WiFi were great. Food options are slim but you can easily go out for food if you want. Didn't love the parking fee of $15 a day and the resort fee of $40 a night. Kids paradise. Parents hell. Why? There is NO valet parking. There are no bellhops or anyone to help with luggage. There are NO luggage carts. (And just wait to you see how far you must park from the front door). If the response from management is that I arrived at an odd time... ignore it. I was here three days and it was the same for all guests those three days. They are terribly understaffed in hotel and restaurant. As far the rooms, they are 1980's decor and amenities. Holiday Inn at resort prices. Our two bedroom suite had one room that was hot at night due to an inadequate vent. Only solution was leaving the door open. On the positive side, the food quality in restaurant was good and the kids enjoyed the pools. My recommendation and a strong recommendation for any family with any luggage at all (or a desire for a room worthy of its cost) is to stay somewhere else and come onto the property for the water park only. So, we gave another try because of a great promotion. PROS- I was pleasantly surprised with all their springtime activities, the walls are surprisingly thick that you can't hear a baby crying next door! All the renovations are completed, so it is a smooth travel between floors and activities. Even though the outdoor pool was closed, the rope course was open! What a fun adventure! You truly don't have to leave the hotel if you wish so. CONS- Our remote and toilet still wasn't working , at least maintenance came fast. I do not think it's worth $300 per night, but a great promo is priced just correctly. I would recommend you looking frequently for good promo codes. read more

I felt the need to write a review after our recent stay here. I'm giving it 3 stars as I am a grapevine citizen so appreciate the tax revenue it brings to our city and hope this review is seen by Hilton to make some changes so we continue to see patronage here for years to come. Overall it felt like we were on a carnival cruise ship. Check-in : should have been simple, we were sent a QR code and they had enough kiosks that there was little wait time. With living 7 minutes away, we planned to unload get situated and then my husband take the car back home and get dropped off by a neighbor to avoid the overnight parking fee of $25 (we got a killer deal on the room rate so decided to make it a staycation). The kiosk prompt makes you answer if you plan to park overnight, and when selecting no...instructs you to stand in the check in line to see a real live person. Well there were 2 live persons at 4:30pm check in hour and I stood in line for almost 30 minutes barely moving. I told my husband to try the kiosk again and this time say screw it let's say we are parking here for the night and walla it worked and our wrist bands printed out. Right in that moment, I thought this place is a gimmick. I was not wrong, it felt like every time we turned a hallway someone was flapping papers at us saying "we are offering 2 day passes for $20 or 4 for $40"...sorry I came here to get away from the world and eat, sleep and play with my family in the water. Go away. On the positive side, we loved the wrist bands and how you use them to open your room, pay anywhere you go, and use to enter the water park. The room- yikes it felt like a motel, I understand there are lots of children through these so probably easier to leave as concrete floors for cleaning, but the kids room beds were very uncomfortable, there was no king size bed and only a queen. The faucet for the bathtub was pretty much hanging out of the wall. No one slept great. We ate at the fireside restaurant as I am not a buffet person, and we had a great meal. The Salmon was really good. We played bowling and loved the tiny alley concept. The waterpark- great temperature for the air and water in there. Lifeguards are always watching closely. Lots to do for my toddler and wonderful they provide plenty of water wings and life jackets. The bathrooms in waterpark were freezing so feel they could warm those up a bit as little ones have blue lips by the time they have done their business. My grandsons had celebrated birthdays at GWL before, but it had been a couple of years since they had been. It was my first time. I surprised them with an early Christmas gift. Before arriving, I watched YouTube videos to get the best advice on how to make our trip the best possible for the boys and most cost effective for moi. YouTube for the win! I packed our own groceries, so I had snacks for the boys between events. Additionally, my Son arrived later in the day, in time for dinner, so he brought dinner for us. Everything is very pricey and they nickel and dime you to death. I did pay for a family breakfast buffet at $80! Which wasn't worth the price. My grandsons are tiny and only ate a couple of bites of yogurt, one had a sausage patty, one had a slice of bacon and they drank some juice. Even for 2 adults, we had eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, potatoes and juice... Definitely not $80 worth! It's nice there's a Starbucks inside, however, they open late, for a Starbucks. Kids are up before the crack of dawn! I need coffee at 6am, not 7:45. The lines were down the hallway, so you had to wait 45 minutes to get coffee...Then my spouse brought us lunch when they were ready for a lunch break. So we saved a bundle on meals. Purchasing the wands and toppers in advance, online, was a bonus. Apparently I saved about $40, as opposed to buying on-site. I also ordered a snowland backpack for them as well. They were super cute and included holiday wolf ears, a stuffy, a nice sized sweatshirt material blanket, a huge treat bag and an ornament, all in a reusable clear backpack. Definitely a hit! The Magi-Quest was their favorite thing to do while there. It was hard on me due to my OA, as the elevators had a 10-15 minute wait time, so the boys wanted to take the stairs, obvs because it was faster, they were super excited to play! Of course the challenges bounce around from floor levels 1-4, so it was painful... Next favorite, for them, was the water park. Boy, when you walk into the enclosed water park, the chlorine gas takes your breath away! My boys wanted me to go in the lazy river with them, but I didn't last long. I got water dumped on my head, as I "walked" with my grandson. Once I got chlorine in my eyes, it burned terribly and I couldn't open my eyes, I had to get out! Not to mention it's the shallowest lazy river, Ive ever been in. Way too shallow! There a bonus 18 and over triple sized hot tub tho, that made the whole trip worth it! The boys had a blast going down the big slides, jumping waves, in the wave pool and my little bit, had fun on the smaller water sprayground, while my 7yr old had a blast going across the floating stones! The only negatives are cost, excessive chlorine and archaic elevators. Hence the 4 stars. Everything is ridiculously expensive and anything you'd like to add or do, costs money, no matter how small. I learned that asking for Late checkout was a must, as once you check out of your room, you can still stay and play all day, but what to do with your things. Regular checkout is at 11, late checkout is 2. So I asked for late checkout and they were like, sure, that's $60 + $4.95 tax! Sheesh, the room was $209 + fees! Well I paid it, simply for the convenience, not to mention the first weekend in December was freezing AND raining! All in all, if you plan it right, you can save a little money and still have a great time! Bring your own food and buy online discounts, in advance. It was also nice to know, before hand, to arrive before 4pm, check-in time. We arrived at 3:30 and check-in was a breeze! read more

Had a great experience at the Great Wolf Lodge! I loved the Coyote Cannon, yellow Alberta Falls, and Howlin' Tornado the best! The remodels look great, we haven't been since it was under construction and the new restaurants look amazing, especially the Timbers Table buffet that was formerly called The Loose Moose Cottage and Timbers Table is bigger too. It was very nice and the rooms were good. The negative Yelp reviews that I saw didn't match the positive experiences I experienced. I do recommend this place for your family or waterpark lover to try. read more

If you're looking for sleep, peace, or sanity -- keep driving. They should rename this place "The Torture Lodge." The food is unedible (like they deep-fried disappointment), the "family suite" looks like it was last updated when Blockbuster was still open, and the beds are as hard as the management's hearts. The blinking fire alarm doubles as a rave light, and the toilet runs every 14 seconds just to remind you it's still miserable. There are kids screaming and running laps through the halls all night long -- and you can hear everything. I mean everything -- neighbors' phones, conversations, probably their thoughts. The "Magic Quest" game is right outside the doors, so good luck sleeping while children on a sugar high are yelling spells at midnight. The only thing magical about this place is how fast it'll make you want to check out. read more

This was my sons only 9th birthday request and thus while price point makes me cringe it's an easy delivered gift. Our last go around here was 3 years ago, and to much surprise renovations are still needed with some of their offered amenities. Our room was a Kid Kamp Suite which offered a camping themed kids area that housed twin size bunk beds, adjacent to that on the other side of the wall was a queen bed and pull out couch. There is a 2 person dinning table & chairs, a 1/2 kitchen with old trusty ice bucket, coffee maker, microwave, and micro fridge. They only give you 3 pods for coffee (it's not a Keurig) but the daily housekeeping if asked will gladly provide more. You can tell the kids climb all over the "tent" feature as it's paint is worn in many areas, especially in and out of the tent window. I purchased the middle grade birthday package at 59.99. It included a door banner, 5 balloons (3 paw balloons and 2 smaller ones), birthday card, $20 dollar paw points, 1/4 sheet white cake coupon you redeem at the food court, 4 birthday plates & cups. The photo of the cake I provided is terrible, I should have timed picking up the cake and rather I picked it up too soon, which would be fine to give it some time to thaw as it's frozen on retrieval, but we were too full to consume it and well the cake doesn't fit in the fridge. So our cake experienced some humidity causing the sugar laid photo to bubble as I still placed it in the fridge with it "cracked" open. All the same the door banner was probably the most liked add on, and now I know the cake is unnecessary if we ever do another birthday package. The location of our room was perfect 4th floor, first suite room at the start of the hall, stones throw to the elevator, The Grounds attraction, and the main lobby stair case which gave us easy access to the extra activities if we so desired to do them. Our view was that of the outdoor park area (which sadly is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day). The Grounds by Top Golf is the newest interactive game based activity. While in theory it's great but the sensors are terrible to respond and at 69.99 an hour that's not acceptable. We spent most of the time frustrated with getting it to respond and many of the games were just not worth the said frustration to play. We ordered onion rings, chicken tenders and fries and 2 drinks. Our total upon leaving with cost of hour was roughly $105. Can't say we would bother with this one again. The Magi & Shadow Quest (Compass Quest is gone they still sell them as souvenirs, but game is obsolete). There is much in need of repair. I can say without a doubt none of the treasure chests function. They still speak to you with wave of wand but all the lids hinges are broken and they don't open. Wands have gotten a massive upgrade in style/look and lights. We had our old wands which I have to admit I like a whole lot more. The games are 14.99/16.99 to play and wands are 19.99 on up in cost and there are toppers which vary in cost. My two kids still enjoyed playing and without a doubt I can say you'll log at minimum 40 flights of stairs playing these games as elevators are too slow for how much you need to move up and down all 8 floors (and you spend much of your time in the "hidden" stairwell). So lastly the water park; we enjoyed the water park arriving early at 9AM to snag chairs and having no wait for the slides. We spent about 3 hours the first day (rode slides about 10 times). All slides are tube/raft style. There are 3 slides that allow single or double rider; these require you to lug a tube up about 5/6 flights of stairs. Orange is fully enclosed and seemed the fastest, yellow is moderate, has random openings inside the park, and green fully enclosed seems same speed as yellow. The other two slides the tubes are brought up by conveyer and offer 2-4 riders. The Tornado (well I rode it backwards) was my least favorite it takes you outside into that large red and yellow funnel which brought on the motion sickness. Overall we had a great time, we rarely almost never eat at Great Wolf, there are tons of restaurants not far from the facility. They have Valet parking along with self paid premium parking and then those spots for folks who can walk the short walk. Not sure when we will get back again but hoping they work on getting things repaired. At their price point it seems ridiculous any of their amenities remain in disarray. read more

There is a lot of buck here and virtually no bang. I feel like all of the information I spent hours scouring the website FAQs and information for was wrong or misleading, so a giant waste of my time. The cabanas were mispriced on the website, the hours on the website didn't match what they told us at the properties, the restaurants were made out to be a multitude of freestanding establishments, when they were essentially one fast food court and a breakfast buffet. We had lunch from the stand in the water park one day, and it was barely edible. If you get a chance to have the chicken nachos, pass on that. I also found the magic quest to be ridiculous. You just climb back and forth from the first to the fourth floor over and over again and waiting behind 25 of your closest friends to point a wand at the same screen. It was painful. Some choose not to take the stairs which then just clogs up the elevators. The bowling was also a disappointment. You had to just stand in line for one of the six lanes (four were working while we were there) to open up and hope your pins didn't get tangled up requiring you to call for help. This is all to say, my Husband and I did not love this experience. Despite that, our kids did love it. They ate corn dogs, waived their little over-priced wands, watched the little wolf cartoons, played the overpriced arcade games and lived their best lives. read more

everything seems half assed here even all their activities. for example, the daily yoga they do every morning they don't know any poses and it's only 10 minutes long. It just seems like they phone everything in here. All their arts and crafts are very haphazard and not well thought out like for example their arts and crafts is just coloring with crayons, which is a very basic activity. it seems like for the most part they're just checking a box that says "hey look we have activities" while not ever really trying to do anything worthwhile. read more

We paid for an all day pass for our family to enjoy a little fun on a cold day. The kids had a great time, and there was plenty of water activities for them to do and swim in. Downside would be their rule of "no outside food allowed", which is understandable but the food they had to offer was really not great and super over priced. Another thing, this is suppose to be a great place for families, however there were no nursing rooms available. When I asked a "pack member" in the gift shop by the water park if I could use their fitting room to nurse/pump in as (I saw it had a chair and outlet in it). I don't think they really understood what I was asking because they said "no; but oh! I know a place" and took me to a public female restroom outside the water park and pointed me towards the outlet by the sink. They did not offer me a chair to sit in, and when I asked for one they said they couldn't bring me one into the restroom. There were still little boys (aged about 7-9) coming in and out of the public restroom with their moms. And it was so awkward when I overheard the boys asking their mom, "what is she doing?!?". I had to do my best to cover myself, as not to expose them. Overall, we enjoyed the water park but had a poor experience as a nursing mom. read more

2nd time for a long weekend vist to Great Wolf Lodge. We got the standard 2 queen beds room and microwave & refrigertor included. Nice since you want to bring breakfast food, snack and water. Food is very limited and expensive at the lodge. Water was soooo cold which was extremely disappointing and everyone was crowded in the hot tubs. Turn up the HEAT management! The kids had blue lips and goosebumps. That was a disappointment. Bowling is always fun but on Saturday they had 3 lanes closed for a private party. Kids loved everything available. We visited Great Wolf Lodge for the first time, and honestly, for the price of our stay, we had higher expectations. Here are some observations from our experience: At the Fireside Restaurant, we tried dining at 1 PM. We were seated promptly, but after 20 minutes, no one came to take our order or bring drinks. There was only one person waiting, and with only about six tables seated, the restaurant was not busy at all. The fountain drinks in the food hall and water park area were disappointing. They never had ice, and the drinks were so watery it was undrinkable. The food was also a letdown for the cost. It was overpriced for the quality, to the point that we had Uber deliver food, which was both better in quality and cheaper. The staff at Pretzelmaker and Wood's End Creamery were very nice, but the lack of urgency was frustrating. With 20 people in line, it felt like the employees were working in slow motion. While always friendly, some efficiency would go a long way. To top it off, on our last night, we tried to get a bottle of water from a vending machine on the 8th floor, but it was offline, so we couldn't even get water. Overall, the water park itself was good, and the kids had fun. The lifeguards on duty were very nice and very alert, which I appreciated. The other amenities outside the water park need the attention stated above to really bring the experience up to the hype. Based on this experience, if this is all Great Wolf Lodge has to offer for that type of money. We will not return and will advise other families to steer clear. read more

This place used to be so fun... this has been apart of my childhood since I was 7 years old, and now, coming here for my 19th birthday, I'm so disappointed. They changed everything, it's all cramped and colorless now, everything is 10x more expensive, and they might as well plaster a sign saying "we'll rob you" They took away the wolves in the entrance that were on the rocks, they took away the 9:30pm waterpark close time, they took away free parking, and they took away the animatronics, replaced with with a screen. Yes! What kids need, more screen time. It went from a childhood experience to a cash grab, and I'm so disappointed. All the color is gone too, they put the arcade behind a wall, hiding any ACTUAL activity and replacing it with a tan wall. Brown and orange are the only colors, and even the ice cream parlor has been reduced to a "clean" drab, gray color. I guess that's just what you get when you grow up though! All color is gone, and children will get colorless, screen filled experiences from now on. A family fun resort where you can't do anything unless you've saved 1k. read more

Had 2 reservations for my sons birthday, ice storm shut down most of North Texas. When I called they mentioned I can place them on hold for another time but failed to mention the rates would be more than double. Now I've had 1 person say she can refund me but she won't reply to emails anymore. Everyone else has been less than helpful. read more

My 5 year old loved it, but the adults liked Kalahari better (more adult amenities available and a larger property and water park). We stayed during the Christmas holidays and loved visiting the Gaylord across the street and, of course, Grapevine Main Street. If given the option, I would choose to stay at Kalahari as they have more adult amenities and a larger property to enjoy. We had a suite that had 2 bathrooms, which was nice. Each room had its own temp control which was nice, too. Customer service was responsive and attentive. You text a rep and they respond to you within minutes. We did the Top Golf interactive adventure game and everyone enjoyed it, even Grandma! We had more fun there than in the arcade (which seemed more expensive than Kalahari). Also, no indoor roller coaster at GWL. We did not eat on site except for Starbucks and pizza, so I cannot speak to the buffet. If we return to Grapevine, we will likely stay at the Gaylord and get a day pass to the GWL water park. PRO PARENT TIP: I am exclusively pumping and needed accommodations for my breastmilk and baby bottles. GWL online chatbot initially declined my requests, GWL onsite provided the following after I asked: An extra mini fridge so I could keep our baby's milk separate and apart from the regular family food. Stored my frozen breastmilk in their deep freezer while we stayed for a few more hours post-check out. Stored my bottles of milk in their staff fridge while we stayed for a few more hours post-check out. Note there is no hot or warm water at the water park available to warm a baby bottle. But, Starbucks on the 2nd floor had no issues providing us with hot water in our thermos. The bathroom sink is small, so bring a wash bin for the dirty bottles. read more

Employee Theft Without our knowledge various employees were entering the room. One was caught by a kid who was undressing. I filled a security report. That is how we knew of the other employee entrances and GWL policy against it. Later, as we were packing up to leave we noticed our belongings missing. After four hours of runarounds which felt more like waiting us out (my keys were gone too), I called the cops to file a report before departing the premises. Noting, I had requested to file a police report 2 hours previously and GWL never followed through. During this four hours of waiting on my son's birthday with a group of young teen boys, they could only conclude that I never entered with my purse/satchel. Not sure what ID they saw when I checked in. When I offered to identify it on surveillance they told me that was against their privacy policy. The cop was there for less than 2 minutes to get my statement and a random employee angrily ran up and threw it at me. GWL did nothing. This place is ripe for employee theft. Families leave personal belongings in the room as everything including money is on your wristband. And, there is so much hustle and bustle, most people likely leave before discovering items missing. Noting, they wouldn't even check if it had been turned into security or lost and found without filing an online report first. I probably would have had to leave if my keys hadn't been taken too. Update: Their internal report with police included a total different chain of events that didnt change that an employee was responsible. Although my intention was just to report it so that there was history for any further occurrences, GWL's response left no other avenue but to pursue charges. When trying to contact GWL, the only number that worked was one reported on BBB. Also, their own call center had to report that they were unreachable as they tried for over 30 minutes. Greg called me and said he was head of security. He was the first that seemed apologetic but without substance. He said it was routine for these occurrences which are direct failures of corporate protocol. These protocols are probably in place to prevent this exact situation. You would think the head of security would be more concerned. THESE ARE KIDS. My main concern was what the minors were subjected to. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. This place has everything! They care about every detail... We were checked in early and the room was a bargain deal half off October for fall season sale! The water park comes with it! Worth every penny! Bathrooms clean everywhere we went and the lifeguards take safety very seriously- I felt very safe with my kids being independent here and they have life jackets complimentary if needed. They have lockers and cabanas if you want it's extra we didn't feel the need for them - just picked a few chairs for our stuff - the towel system is great. The kiosks for food orders is efficient and probably saves them on labor cost and gets food out quicker. We came up for Houston fall break. The room has everything you need, fridge micro, pull out couch we were on first floor with patio which was nice the ceilings were like 15 feet felt big first floor rooms walk straight into water park and made loading the car up easier. The water is NOT freezing it is comfortable but they do have hot tub areas including an adults only one. The water slides are great all of us could participate sons are 7 and 11 - since we came on off season during the week the lines for slides were shorter or non existent - they have a ton of good options and fun other than the amazing and surprisingly clean water park. The lazy River was like bumper floats when it was a bit fuller but also pretty peaceful when less full. They have a top golf sports simulator row which we loved at a reasonable rate and food and bev service - all the employees were kind and helpful at this place too - over the top helpful - except I was super bummed the loose moose dinner buffet wasn't open the two night we were here but the all you can eat breakfast was well worth the cost and yummy! The character meets were cool and they have their own tv channel with the cartoon lore of the great wolf lodge. We didn't have time to gold mine or quest - but they do offer Those activities and a huge outdoor rope course - I didn't get those packages because I knew we would be pretty tired and only staying two nights but the bonus is that give you three full days of water park entry - they have food in and out of water park and we also enjoyed the arcade one evening which has a huge selection of games for all ages and my son Ethan had his bday this month so they gave him special birthday gift and treats plus they gave us ice cream scoop coupons for the inconvenience and confusion around the loose moose dinner being open or not... shout to Jonathan and cole for great service! arts and crafts and dance parties and shows in lobby were fun for the kids although we were all exhausted by that time after a full morning at the water park my son wants a nap it's been years since he wanted an afternoon nap he is a full energy kid - I lost my sandals and they have a sms guest service a real human helping you for your stay! They found them! That's wonderful. Super easy and the great wolf app was also a good resource for service yourself customer needs or query The 1000 gallon bucket is the largest bucket drop I've seen it's quite exciting! The toilet bowl slide i the first of it kind of seen or enjoyed it feels like something out of Willy wonka factory it is so fun! The tornado and what I call the toilet bowl were our favorite slides - the food was good at the lodge restaurant but a pricey... the cost o food has gone up so... they give you free wolf ears in the gift shop - they have a build a bear and a Starbucks! They even had truck or treating everyday which the boys loved and decorated for howl o ween! - but the room come with coffee and the lobby always has activities and sometimes fresh fruit water - the pizza place was good but the wait was a bit long so order early - they don't charge extra for room cleaning which I love - thy have plenty of adult beverages if you're into that.... It's a great stay and so much bang for your buck. Really fun for all ages. More than just a water park. Great staff! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! My family was exposed to bed bugs!!!! My daughter has bites from head to toe all over! We stayed in room 6013 at the Grapevine location. It's so unfortunate that I have been contacting them for hours on their app through chat with no response, text messages from our so called representative with no response, sat hours on the phone with calls dropping and it's been the worse experience!!
