2026 Yelp 100 Challenge - #3 Visited New Years Eve and I was surprised at how busy it was. There is loading and unloading lanes in the front, but you are unable to leave cars unattended. Parking was $19 per day just to park in the lot. Waterpark is open from 10 am - 8pm Magic Quest is open til 11pm With several other fun options located on the first floor. Downloading their app allows you to get updates on upcoming events but not much else. Communication was provided via text and there are attendants on each floor willing to answer any question you may have. Our room was clean and there were plenty of towels available. The waterpark was fun with a spacious kids area and a giant dump bucket. Lastly the restaurant on the 3rd floor had delicious food and friendly service. My family and I had a great visit and look forward to returning soon.

We came to Great Wolf Lodge on a whim as we were sitting around, wondering what to do after the holidays. We scored a good deal on a room and purchased the pup pass before arriving. Parking was easy found a spot pretty quickly and our room was ready when we got there. We did have to wait in the long check in line because your account with Great Wolf Lodge has to match the credit card holder's name otherwise you can just use one of the kiosks. They have activities that are free in the lobby such as story time, dance parties as well as bingo. The main thing that we spent our day doing was having fun in the waterpark. We went downstairs in the food court area to grab a bite to eat. You can conveniently order in their app so that way your order is in and minimizes the wait. There are a lot of people down there wanting to eat! Magiquest is fun so bring your wands and if you don't have one that are available for purchase. Room was cozy and comfortable. Yes this place gets busy but it is part of the fun! We would definitely come back for another family getaway!

I thoroughly enjoyed this family trip to GWL! We had never been before, and just wanted to play at the waterpark. But since they were running a special room price, we decided to stay a night in the Wolf Den Suite! Checking into the Lodge was super easy, just scan the QR code from your email and your wristbands get printed out! The wristbands are your key to your room and can be used to pay for most everything if you chose to have a card added to a designated wristband. We bought the breakfast package beforehand and no other special packages because I knew my kids would just want to spend their time in the water this time around. However, I told them if we want to add the MagiQuest wands next time we could, it looked like a lot of fun. But honestly, I think they would be perfectly fine just splashing and sliding. I definitely recommend Great Wolf Lodge :)

We come here yearly for my birthday and it's always the best! The waterpark is fire and has a ton of good slides. There is a good kids area too at the water park. We get the wolf pass which is a super good value for things to do. You can do the ropes course, which has many floors of obstacles to traverse and zip lines to zip across. You can get a free cup of candy of your selection. You can get a free ice cream. You get a round of laser tag and bowling. You can go mining for gold and gems. And you get an arcade pass. All the things I listed is on the wolf pass. The only down side is for the arcade you only get like $5 on the game card which is like 3 games but luckily my family is pro at space invaders so we cooked! Also with the wolf pass you get a wand and a game for magi quest. Magi quest is an immersive wand game where you hunt around the resort searching for stations to fight bosses and collect items. This is one of my favorite things to do here. If you have not been here yet I totally recommend going especially if you have kids!

Ok so this place was amazing!! From the staff to the all the water slides, arcades and y'all there's an ice cream shop inside!! Say less!! We went with friends and I would gladly do it again. There's everything you need for the entire family and deals are always happening for an overnight stay! Can it be expensive yes, is it worth it also yes! Can't say that about everything!! Go have some family fun!!

I've been coming here since my now 23 year-old was just 10. It's always been a fun, family-friendly place and I was excited to see the recent renovations. They were definitely needed and it looks great! That said, I have to share a serious concern about our current stay. The sixth floor, where we're staying, has been overwhelmed with the smell of marijuana. If this were an adults only resort, that might be one thing, but this is a family establishment, and it's completely unacceptable. We don't live that lifestyle, and we certainly don't expose our children to it, our youngest is 10 years old. I first reported the issue at 6:05 PM, and I was told it would be addressed. When we returned around 10:30 PM, the same strong odor filled the hallway in the exact same area. I followed up again and spoke to the manager, Kiki, who sent security (Anthony) to speak with me. He was very polite and explained that it's difficult to pinpoint the source, he assured me they were looking into it. Unfortunately, if this continues tomorrow, I'll have no choice but to move my family across the street to the Gaylord, we are Titanium Marriott members so it would be easy. I've genuinely loved this family resort and we come here every summer but this might be our final visit. We can't and won't tolerate an environment like this for our children. What's frustrating is that we've visited other locations, California (I believe it's legal there), the Poconos, and Sandusky and those resorts have a clear, well-enforced zero-tolerance policy. The moment they suspect anything inappropriate, they fix it. This should be a safe, clean, and welcoming place for families. When the hallways reek of marijuana, it completely undermines the experience and makes it hard to enjoy our time here. On a positive note, I want to commend the outstanding customer service we received from Carter C. and our wonderful waitress Jayne at Firegrill. They were both fantastic and deserve recognition. But honestly customer service has never ever been an issue at this location (Don't ask me about Webster location customer service because that one sucks lol)

Our stay was pleasant The kids love the water park and magiquest. But it's absolutely a one and done thing. They rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable and very spacious.

Roaches

Where do I begin, I chose great wolf lodge for a 7 day stay meanwhile my home was undergoing a renovation. (Should've stayed at the Gaylord) My insurance paid for the stay. The check in was a nightmare. Spent most of my day at the check in area because every time my insurance sent the payment the hotel somehow always need more money based on room rates. Second night in my room for roaches. Massive ones they offered to spray the room, I said absolutely not. I have a 7 month old baby and 2 kids under 6yo. Spraying would not resolve the issue as the back sliding door has a massive gap. Then they moved rooms and you could hear the next room over ppl were loud and fighting and then the tv was super loud to cover up the fighting. All of this was brought up to the staff. Insurance paid for our meals package and front desk failed to mention that gratuity is included when dining for breakfast. Everytime I had breakfast the waiters would have me sign and fill in gratuity and so I did. Until I realized after reading the fine print that gratuity was included. So I was tipping 2x, so I went to front desk to fix the problem. Fast forward 2 weeks after my stay, great wolf charged me $1800x2 on 2 separate days. No receipt, no warning. I called and they refunded one and said the second would be refunded in about 3-5 days. Well that didn't happen. And they opened up a case. I received an email saying it was for the meals packages that my insurance already paid for. And sent me a receipt for it. This was all after the fact. So once again I had to do all of the work and ask for a damn receipt. I have invoices showing zero balance from after my stay that my insurance paid for including the meals packages and this company is trying to charge me for it. So frustrating and will not ever be returning.

Receipt I did not sign

Here's the story behind this receipt. My two grandchildren and I visited Great Wolf Lodge on July 11 to spend the night and have some fun. Well, while they were busy splashing around at the waterpark, I checked my room charges and saw a charge for $263.58 at a restaurant I had not been to. When I complained, I was sent this photograph of the receipt and they stated that since I had signed for it obviously it was on me. So I marched down to the front desk and threw a hissy fit and Security told me that they would check the security footage. About an hour later they come and find me and they say "oh you're right, sure enough it wasn't you, we will take care of that." Their story is that the family who stayed in my room prior to me checking in is the family who did this. And it was a mistake on Great Wolf Lodge's part. They inadvertently charged me not the previous family. Ok, then- Who signed my name??? The server or the customer?? If it was the server, does that mean somebody can just say a room number and the server will look it up and then sign the person's name to a receipt? I'm guessing not, but if so - WTH? That's not a great way to do business. If not, then some A-hole decided to have dinner on me. Unfortunately, I have no recourse at this point. I am told that since the charges were reversed, I am not the victim, so my police report was canceled. However, I feel I would be remiss if I didn't let everyone know, if you visit this place, check your charges! End of rant.

Kurt V.

Our family just had our second visit to Great Wolf Lodge, and it was just as much fun as the first time around! We love this resort for a quick getaway, especially during these hot summer months when an indoor water park is a real treat. Hard to believe but it really does get to hot outside in Texas to swim! The kids, of course, were absolutely thrilled with the water park & our room was comfortable for the family, providing a good base for our stay. The convenience of having multiple dining options on-site meant we rarely had to leave the resort, which is a huge plus when you're trying to maximize your fun time.

Are the cabanas worth it? We are going during the week before schools are out for summer so hoping it will be quieter.

No, just get there early when they open and take some towels to put on the chairs to hold your spot.

How is the food in the restaurants at the resort?

There used to be multiple restaurants, but the only one open now is the buffet which has a great food selection, albeit pretty pricey. We did Uber Eats one night, but be advised they do not allow delivery services in the hotel, so you'll need to…

Is there a fireworks show here at the lodge for the 4th of July?

I don't know

Are pets allowed?

Can they make pool little more sanitary?

The pool was extremely clean in my eyesight

So, when staying at a hotel in Texas, AC is a must. How's the air conditioning throughout the hotel? Is it too hot in the summer? Thanks in advance.

We also had air issues in our 1st floor room. Thermostat was set at 62-64 and we were hot around 2 or 3 AM - almost like they were cycling the air for conservation - I felt like we weren't really in control of it. We stayed 3 nights and slept…

The water features are my favorite and I always find time to sit by the river and contemplate life when I am there. I feel as if I've been transported someplace completely different. This time, Sept 2026, we were upgraded to an executive suite in the Vineyard section of the hotel. It has been recently renovated and although we did not see big differences, the rooms are clean and the views of the lake and outward from there are wonderful. The room was large and well maintained. The suite came with a king bed and a sofa bed. Both were comfortable. The pillows were comfortable. The room was quiet. Overall, it was a great experience. I don't really get why the hotel has a 3 star rating. I acknowledge that check in can be slow, even in the elite line, but the resort gets really busy and the representatives have been friendly and helpful based on our experiences. The room itself was a little dated, but it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The lobby, atrium, and grounds are gorgeous and definitely give the property more of a resort feel than a typical convention hotel. I didn't have a chance to try any of the restaurants during my stay, so I can't comment on the food. The staff was also a highlight. Everyone I encountered was outgoing, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, a very nice stay and a great option if you're attending a convention or need to be near DFW. The lack of an airport shuttle and somewhat dated rooms keep it from being a 5-star experience for me, but I'd happily stay here again.

I'm going to do a separate review on the restaurant but the stay at the hotel was pleasant. I'm going to be honest about the fact that the valet was not especially courteous the day I went. It felt like I was bothering them when I pulled up and expected them to park my car. I also had trouble calling and asking questions at the Front desk. The shower (which had awful water pressure, barely trickles) had an ugly yellowish color scheme for its tiles. The bed is weirdly high up and medium-firm but comfortable enough. I have become spoiled by hotels that feature Netflix, YouTube, and/or other apps/services in addition to live TV. This TV was a regular TV and nothing more, which is not a huge problem itself. Even so, it was a bit jarring to see, especially since its "TV guide" channel looked straight out of the early 90s. The free shuttle is great. It makes stops anywhere people want, which is understandable, and the airport is huge, so build in some extra time. We had a bit of a scare because the driver was said to be a bit late, but we then got an update a few minutes later that the driver would be on time, and he was! Phew.

Upon check-in, I found a note from one of the nice maids inviting me to enjoy my stay and feel free to use the amenities. I did notice the customary chocolate was absent but this is a minor quibble. After some time enjoying the facility, I decided to avail myself of the on-site dining options and chose the lasagna with garlic bread. Because my assistant and I were seated with a view of the kitchen area, I glimpsed an interaction between the manager and two of the chefs during dinner preparation that was surprising. It seemed one of the chefs had burned the garlic bread. The senior chef and the manger got into a bit of a row and the senior chef threatened to quit as the poor chef who'd burned the garlic bread hurriedly prepared a new serving...WITH the help of the manager! It seems the manager really didn't want to have the senior chef walk out on him hah! Dinner was delicious and quite filling, I wasn't even able to finish the portion they gave me and I split it with my assistant. Note that on the way to dinner, I noticed one of the poor cabana boys passed out on a lounge. They work them so hard that I couldn't even rouse the boy when I tried. He did appear later in the evening and accompanied us on the shuttle to local shopping and told several very funny jokes. The missing chocolate upon check in and the silverware at dinner being somewhat plain (I was expecting sterling silver cutlery in an establishment of this class) were really the only negatives. My assistant did not care for the art work - specifically the paintings - hung in the entry way and stated this as we exited. Definitely recommend a stay with this place!

The gold elevator doors and traditional interior give the property a distinctive character, and there are plenty of conference rooms and business-oriented spaces that make it well suited for business trips. Our room was okay, although it was a little dark at night. The bigger issue was the sound insulation. We could clearly hear running water, conversations from adjacent rooms, and doors being slammed throughout the evening and early morning. If you're a light sleeper, this could definitely be an issue. The front desk staff were polite, although the interactions felt a little awkward and transactional. The standout employee was the gentleman handling baggage at the front entrance. He was genuinely friendly, greeted everyone coming through the lobby, and repeatedly went out of his way to open doors for guests. He was easily the warmest and most welcoming staff member we encountered. Overall, this is a classy hotel in a convenient location if you're looking to be close to restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and entertainment. The hotel is just loaded with gardens and different types of displays.. it's just a beautiful place to walk through. It's totally enclosed so while it was 45° outside it was a comfortable 68 inside. The restaurants we ate at here while fantastic the breakfast is fine at their market Place and Starbucks. The Italian restaurant which was perfect and that's coming from the New Yorker. We also had a meal at their sports bar. The highlight here is their Steak House. We are definitely looking forward to our return trip to enjoy more of what Gaylord has to offer.
