So this was our first time to this location-we have always gone to the Poconos location which is larger. So I will try not to compare the two and just review this location, but there may be some comparisons. Pros: 1. Magiquest: this was definitely my girls favorite thing as Poconos only has one game. Here they have several different types of magiquest, so this consumed most of their time! I had a slightly hard time figuring it out but my husband and older daughter figured it out quick. One of the standouts here!! 2. VR and laser tag. My kids LOVED this especially the VR. And they have games for all levels. 3. Staff: while at times it didnt seem there was enough staff, the ones we dealt with, were so friendly and helpful. 4. Pool: Not comparing it to the Poconos, the water park was fun and the girls loved the outside pool 5. Location: if you dont want to spend money on food and snacks there...there is everything nearby! You cannot beat the location! Cons: 1. Water Park: So while it is great: it is small!! My older daughter did get a little bored after a while and due to limited staff, one worker would often be working TWO slides making lines move extremely slow. By it was still fun. 2. It wouldn't be a review if I didn't mention the food. And it is RESORT food not a 4 star restaurant, so I get it. The food in the water park is fine-not fancy but spendy of course. The buffet was my least favorite thing about this resort. Almost $100 for a family of four and the food was not great and the variety was very limited. My kids ate less then half a plate and I was done after half my meal. And drinks were NOT included which blew my mind. We did not go back and ate out after this meal. 3. VR and laser tag: while my kids loved it, their scheduling stinks. It is first come first serve, so we went twice and it was a 2+ hour wait. So they put your name down and call you when it is your turn, it is not a reserved time. So you are kind of wandering around waiting for your number to be called. We were nervous about going to water park in case they called us. And then once u start the VR, it is only nine minutes long!! And it takes almost five minutes to figure out what the heck to do!! And it was $50 for a family of four for nine minutes! 4.Missing parents: as the night goes on, it is a free for all with kids. Idk where the parents are...but it was 10 pm and kids were racing around doing magic quest and shouting and not a parent in sight. I understand this place is for kids....but it amazed me the kids I saw running around alone 5. Avoid arcade if you can!! We always get sucked in and hundreds of dollars later, I have bags full of crap from the tickets they won that I throw in the garbage a week later. Games are SUPER expensive!! And cost!!! Everything is expensive and there are always charges I cant explain on our bill but after going to GWL for years...I have learned to accept them and move on! You cannot get a hold of a physical person concerning your bill and you will never see money back if they over charged you!! Needless to say: if we come back to North Carolina, my girls would like to come back to this location. They had a blast and we made good memories!! read more

Our daughter requested to go back for her 5th birthday so we did (1 year later). It seems to have gone slightly down since last year in cleanliness, noise, and staffing. Water park's drain was barely draining (black sludge), food and trash was pretty consistent throughout the indoor part. Outdoor pool was opened this time and so much cleaner and quieter. Food is overly expensive for park quality. Plenty of options all around so we opted to skip the breakfast buffet to save money. We did $50 meal plan to save money and that got us a pizza, a pasta dish, & one bottled lemonade for family of 4. Was looking for a quiet place for business center (like most of hotels) and was informed to use the 4th floor lobby area that overlooked the water park by several staff members as a quiet space for some critical meetings. The area was definitely less traffic but two huge screens that pipes noise throughout was not ideal. No power outlet at all. I understand it's a family park but a business center room would have been nice. I ended up plugging into an outdoor outlet between indoor water park and rope course and pulling up two patio chair (not ergonomic at all). Kids and family hung around yelling during my meetings while they were waiting on members from rope course. Lost my water bottle, filed report, and checked 3x day but no success. After checking and already on the way home I got call and still waiting on them to ship it. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Lifeguard staff wasn't and very understaffed, irritated at kids running wild (where are the parents). Entertainment schedule was very good and variety of options. I hope staffing and cleanliness will improve and looking forward to a business center and fitness center as well! read more

A hotel this size needs way more elevators. It has 2. You will never get to use them. They are tiny too. It's a constant 90 degrees in the water park at a billion percent humidity. I understand this is just part of being an indoor water park, but it is MISERABLE. Also, crowded. Disney world crowded. Unless you are willing to spend another $300 a day on a "cabana" you will be sitting on patio furniture with 10,000 other people. Trying to keep your stuff from being kicked into oblivion by the thousands of people constantly walking by. Paying extra to park is ridiculous. $20 a day per car. I've already overpaid for the room. How about tossing a parking spot a mile away from the entrance in for fee huh? Every single item is quadruple a reasonable price at this place because what else are you going to do? Walk a mile to your car and fight traffic for an hour to go somewhere else? If you put on your swimsuits, crowd your family into your bathroom, get it steamed up, spray a half a bottle of Clorox into the air, and then toss your wallet into the toilet and flush it, it's just like going here. But cheaper. Way cheaper. Plan to spend at least $1000 per day to have anything approaching actual fun. Never again. Never. read more

I have been here in the past with my Grandaughters. I have to say this place is a great place for kids of all ages. The facility is clean and they are always keeping it up. The employees are fantastic. They greeted me in the mornings as I passed by them in the hallway. They always said hello or Good morning, with a smile on their face. The service at the activity centers was friendly and very courteous. We had a coffee maker in the room that did not work. We text and within minutes there was an attendant knocking on our door to resolve the problem. So the amenities of Great Wolf. Pools , pools , pools. Wave pool wading pool outdoor pool, kids only pool. Yes they are great. You have one pool outside, the rest are inside. Oh did I mention tube slides . Wow. Then small ball bowling, laser tag, VR room, Magic Quest that has stations all over the resort. ( keeps kids busy for hours ). Also an Arcade that is supreme. The food options : pizza is good, you have a breakfast and dinner buffet it is not bad. Also you have bar food next to the dining room. It is ok . Food at the beach restaurant, we had fries , very good. Nachos not so good. The drinks are tasty but I did not get a buzz even with drinking 3 double shot Blue Hawaii. Each had a double shot of rum in them. But tasted good. They had some fancy drinks that were 2 feet tall, I did not have one. But adults can chill out when the kids are too much. I'm k let's talk about kids. This place is made for them. When they hit the door the retro rockets inside them kick in. They go wild with delight. It was fun watching parents trying to catch their kids. Parents don't have a chance. You are constantly dodging kids , that keeps you alert. The kids can't help it, this place is built for family fun. I had a great time feeling like a kid, but feeling it the next day . My age that is (71) . But ready for more . So over all if you want a family holiday, this is the place. I will probably be back within the year or at least next year. We were here for 3 days. Oh yes , try to stay on the 2000 floor. That is the main floor as you enter. It is easy to access everything, also you do not have a 10 minute wait for the elevator. Also well worth us the ultimate pass. The kids had a blast at the water park, which honestly was the highlight of the stay. That made it feel worth it for a family trip. I also really appreciated how easy the text checkout was--super simple and convenient. The room setup worked well for us too. The bunk beds were walled off and even had their own TV, which gave the kids their space and the parents a little privacy (always a win). Another bonus is that there are a lot of better food options nearby just off the property, so you're not limited to eating onsite. That said, there were definitely some downsides. The food on the property wasn't anything special and is overpriced for what it was. Paying for parking was also annoying, especially considering you're already paying to stay there. And while the room layout was good, the rooms themselves could really use an upgrade. Overall, it's an okay place, especially if you're traveling with kids and plan to spend a lot of time at the water park. Not amazing, not terrible--just average. read more

We stayed here for my son's 11th birthday. He wanted this to be our family vacation even tho we live in Charlotte, NC lol. Of course the water park is the main draw, the kids lovedddddd the wave pool I couldn't keep my 3 year old out of it. This was also our first time visiting when the outdoor pool was open, lots of seating with shade and more outdoor basketball courts. The kids enjoyed the waterslides and my toddler enjoyed the toddler play area. During the night we went to the arcade. They loved all of the games in the arcade and the amount of tokens that you get with each game. We did run into a problem when it was time to load the tokens onto the cards, the machine malfunctioned and the kids were not able to have their tickets onto the card. Since we were there late night, we had to wait until the morning with Customer Service to have it fixed in the arcade. We were able to rectify the situation after talking to the arcade supervisor, who put the correct amount of tokens on their ticket once I showed them a picture of the malfunction. Apparently, you have to load the tickets and swipe the cards at the end not in the beginning as my kids were accustomed to. I recommend a sign on the machine that indicates to swipe after you load your tickets in because it is not clear. There are plenty of restaurant options within the resort, but they can get a little bit pricey, so we ordered takeout from a restaurant nearby. And utilize the Dunkin' Donuts in the resort for a simple breakfast sandwich. Since we live in, Charlotte, probably would not spend the $400 for one night again even though the kids love the room, it's just a little pricey for a one night stay. All in all, we would definitely come back again, utilizing the day pass option. read more

I was highly impressed with my first trip to Great Wolf Lodge. This was my family's first trip but will not be our last. I liked how we could do everything on premises and did not need to leave. The main draw is the waterpark, which was a lot of fun. We decided to get a paw pass for our son so he could experience all of the attractions. We did use all of the wolf pass so it was worthwhile to get. They do offer free activities throughout the day for kids which I thought was nice. The arcade was great because the games were child friendly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a basic room, but there was plenty of space and it was very clean. There are several food options on the premises, but they are a little more expensive than if you ate at a restaurant somewhere else. It can get expensive so I will keep my eye out for deals in the future. read more

We have been to a couple of Great Wolf Lodge locations and this one did not disappoint. Our room was in the perfect location one the 1st floor. We were close to the Virtual Reality, Laser Tag, Arcade, Pizza and Ice Cream, Ten Paw bowling, and of course the water park itself. It made it easy to go back to our room if we forgot something, or if we wanted to use a private restroom instead of one in the water park. The pools were clean and the area was well taken care of. The Wolf Pass is a must! My son was able to participate I a lot of activities we wouldn't have added on if we hadn't had it. He got to participate in so many activities he was never bored. The Magi quest was awesome, though we did get frustrated with the Red Dragon and never completed that part of the adventure. It was a built in workout for everyone involved as it is a type of interactive scavenger hunt through the hotel. He loved his build a bear as well. With the Wolf Pass there were some upgrades for some activities which were worth it as well. Adding on for adults to participate with their kids was also worth it. My husband was ecstatic about the quality of the wings at one of the restaurants. They reminded him of wings from his youth that he loved. They were cooked perfectly. He also loved the buffalo sauce and he is very picky about his buffalo sauce. I had a nacho meal and it was heaping with food. The chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I couldn't eat it all! With anything there are pros and some cons. The only negatives we found were the coffee maker in our room didn't work (which we didn't inquire about getting a different one or I'm sure it would have been taken care of) and food prices seemed higher than they needed to be. Parking was also $19 per night, I would think this would be something that could be included into the price of the stay. We plan to visit Great Wolf again in the future. read more

The lodge is a great experience for all ages. Our family of four (two kids who are 10 and 7) enjoyed our stay while we were in Charlotte. We scored a deal online with it being 40% off if we stayed 3 or more nights, so it helped. The room is spacious. We stayed in the Kid Kamp suite, which had a bunk bed, queen bed, and a pull out sofa bed. It included a microwave, fridge, balcony, TV, plenty of drawers, and counter space. The fire alarm was triggered two straight nights we were there and had to evacuate according to safety procedures. Luckily, it didn't last long. The water park is included for each guest that is staying there and it includes a few water slides, wave pool, a couple of swimming pools, and a splash playground area. The kids got the Wolf Pass, which was additional and it included most of the activities to do. It has laser tag, arcade, mining, bowling, virtual reality, and mini golf included. There is an app that you can order food from while you were at most of the restaurants on site. It was a nice feature in case you don't want to leave the lodge and eat it in your room or at tables that are nearby for seating. It tends to be pricey though for the extra convenience. read more

Three years has made quite the difference for us and Great Wolf. As much as our daughter now has more to do, the place itself has not kept up with its appearances. The rooms have a weird damp smell and the sheets themselves felt like they did not get fully dried. Additionally, the rooms just are old and need some revamping, paint, etc. The other item is just how much they nickel and dime you. Parking, towels, and the soda refills all have new rules or stipulations that now charge you or make things just a little more difficult and something else to stress over to ensure you don't get an additional charge. I think we will sadly look to other water parks for our next vacation. read more

Wow what a fun place. Do you have kids? This is the vacation spot designed for kids. There's so much to do, but of course extra costs will add up. We found a Black Friday special so it was really cost available with the discount special. But between the indoor water park and magi quest I have to come back. There's an arcade and other adventures. That extra cost option is a wolf pass which gets you experiences in all the areas. Even as an adult doing a build-a bear with the kids is so cute. We were invited to come back to this location by management to "redo" our last trip because of some issues. This trip hasn't been any better, and the likelihood of us returning to stay here is slim to none. Let's start with parking... 6 months ago, when we visited, it was free to park your car. With the price tag of staying here for the night, it wasn't free! It just didn't cost extra. Well, they have a fabulous surprise for you now! Not only is it not free, it's $19/night in addition to your stay cost. AND ... it's not optional! The $19 was charged to our room without asking ... it was simply told to us "we charge $19 a night to park, and it will be charged to your room." This lodge opened in 2009. This is our 6th trip here and the first one that we had to pay to park the car. It's a huge turn off, and makes you walk in the door feeling nickled and dimed. Moving on... We were told that our room was not ready when we arrived at 1, so we went to the water park. It is so hot inside the water park that you can't breathe and my youngest was ready to go, 5 mins after we arrived. I messaged the AI assistant to ask when our room would be ready... she responded with "Checkin begins at 4. Unfortunately, we are at full capacity, and it has put housekeeping behind." My husband went to the front desk at 3:57p & asked for our room number. Reluctantly, they gave it to us. We went to the room and the smell that hit us when we opened the door told us that room hadn't been used in quite some time. It was the musty smell of mildew. It was also 75 degrees in the room, so we turned the air down and I sprayed body mist all around the room. On the outside of the toilet, was a poop smear. On the bathroom counter near the faucet... a dried up contact. It was obvious that this bathroom wasn't cleaned recently or even after the last guest. The AI Assistant messaged us an hour later to let us know the room was ready. The restaurants at the lodge are overpriced and not worth eating at, so we went out for dinner and brought breakfast. The outdoor pool was closed both days we were here which was the whole reason that we booked in the summer. The first day they said lightening. The second day there is zero excuse. No rain, no lightening. My favorite part is, the pool was closed, but the mini golf course was full of people holding putters! Our bed also had a huge dip in it that made it very uncomfortable, and we were woken up with a child banging on our sliding glass door multiple times. And last but certainly not least a cockroach running through the water park was the icing on the cake for this visit! This place used to feel like it was worth the money, but this will likely be the last time we spend any of ours here and I can't in good faith recommend this place to anyone. read more

We expected a fun, family-friendly resort experience. What we got was loads of trash, biohazard elevators, and poor customer service. Let's start with the trash. Giant bins lined the hallway outside our room every mid morning thru early afternoon, making the space feel like a loading dock instead of a resort. Not just unsightly, but unhygienic and unprofessional. Worse, there was feces in the elevator. Yes, actual poop, and it stayed there for three days. How did we know it was feces and not something like chocolate? The smell. No one cleaned it up. No signs. No urgency. Just a disgusting reminder that cleanliness and safety do not appear to be a priority at this location. Room deliveries (like towels or requested items) took a minimum of 45 minutes, even late at night when you'd assume traffic was slower. It's hard to relax or get kids settled when you're constantly waiting with no follow up, or being told "it's on the way" with no timeline in sight. Great Wolf Lodge sells itself as an upscale family experience, but this location delivered something way below basic. The water park itself is fine, but when the surrounding experience feels dirty, delayed, and neglected, it's hard to enjoy anything. At least the kiddos had fun. In conclusion if you don't expect cleanliness and urgency with a price tag that demands service, this is a great vacation spot for you. read more

This is the 4th time we came to this place. We stay in the two rooms suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One room/master bedroom has king size bed with full bath. The other bedroom has 2 queen size bed. The living room has chair and L shape couch that can turn into pull up bed. It has eating area with circle table and 2 chairs. The indoor water park very fun for the kids. They have 3 restaurants, Dunkin' Donuts, souvenir/ candy store, and one small convenient store. This place also has arcade, bowling alley, and fun entertainment for kids such as story time and games. The location is pretty good as well. Super close to the highway, plenty restaurants and fast food nearby, and not far from Walmart. We recommend this place for family gate away. read more

We stayed here one night, which included access to the water park for the day we arrived and the day we left. It was nice to be able to go to the park from your room and go back to your room to clean up, etc. The water park is big with lots of different activities for kids of all ages. My kids were tall enough to go on all of the rides, so that made it feel more worth it for me. I could see it being fun for parents with younger kids, but I do think you get your money's worth if your child is taller than the height limits for the rides. There were enough rides to keep them occupied for the 2 days we were there, but I think that was our max - I couldn't see us staying for longer than that. During the peak hours, it was pretty crowded, and with all the running water indoors, it was also quite loud and can be overstimulating. Having ear plugs wouldn't be a terrible idea, because I felt my ears ringing once we left the water park. Our room was overall pretty clean, and the check in and check out process was smooth and easy. One weird thing that happened was there was a bacon egg and cheese croissant left in our microwave when we got there. So I guess they didn't clean out the microwave. It made me wonder how well of a job they did cleaning other things. But other than that, we didn't have any problems with the lodging. Having to pay for parking felt silly, but there was no real alternative. There were also a lot of add-on activities, arcade games, etc. that you could pay extra for, but we just stuck with the water park. The food there was overpriced and looked underwhelming, but there are plenty of food options within driving distance, so we ended up eating out instead of at the lodge. Also, it was close to my daughter's birthday, so she got a free doughnut at Dunkin to celebrate, which she really enjoyed. Overall, we had a good stay. One night was plenty for us. Just be prepared to pay for parking, and if you want the convenience of staying at the lodge, get ready to pay for overpriced food and other activities to keep the kids occupied if they don't want to spend the whole time at the water park. read more

We have done GWL for the past few years at the Williamsburg, VA location and most everything was smooth. Since they decided to double their prices to coincide with VA and MD spring break schedules, we thought we would try the Charlotte, NC location...unmitigated mess! Checked in through the kiosk but still had to stand in line to get kids paw passes and $20 a day for parking is ridiculous. Anytime I had a question I would be referred to the app, which was spotty at best. Tried to order Dunkin for breakfast via app, after 3x I gave up and walked down. Took the kids to play laser tag but was told they were all booked up for the day but couldn't make reservations for the following day until after 830pm? Wth kind of logic is that? The bowling alley was down to 2 operating lanes, that led to long wait times. The waterpark seemed to make up rules and apply them discriminately, told us no small kids in our lap for the slides but proceeded to allow some of those following us to do it? The only 3 positives was a clean room, the arcade customer service and the bar tender who served our food was fantastic. Honestly disappointing for the amount of money you spend! read more

We went last week and it was such a great vacation with our little ones (age 5 and 2). Perfect age to enjoy a lot the lodge had to offer. The kids absolutely had a blast with the magiquest and my husband and I got into it too!! We did the build a bear to have some of the exclusive stuff animals and the staff was amazing!! The water park was great! Definitely more crowded on the weekend, so if possible try the week days to not have to wait in line for the slides. Our room was spacious and adorable! We tried the breakfast buffet 1x and did a sit down meal for dinner. Both delicious! The only negatives I had for the whole trip would be wearing the wrist bands the entire vacation. My 5 year old was hating it but was able to understand the why behind it. I also didn't like sleeping in them, so kind of aggravating but just occasionally. I also did not enjoy the Hilton employee that came to interrupt us in the arcade for her sales pitch for more vacations and their packages. She was not easy to run off and really couldn't catch the vibe at all. Everything else was great and we look forward to checking out other great wolf lodge locations! read more

The waterpark water was freezing, not heated like advertised. The lines for the slides are very long. The crowds were nearly unmanageable and made using the water features extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The attendant at the tornado slide clearly and plainly instructed my daughter and I to sit side by side in the raft. On the first drop, I was flung from the raft, bounced on the side of the slide and flung back onto the raft where I clung to my daughters legs in a panic, laying across the top of the raft being flung back and forth. The attendant at the bottom of the slide yelled out, I dont know why the guy up there sat yall that way. I was so upset, I was in tears and shaking, but nothing was done about it. There are only two elevators for the entire lodge and they are right next to each other in the lobby and it is not an exaggeration to say that every elevator ride is at a minimum, a ten minute ordeal. It can take upwards of 20 minutes to get the elevator, and then it doesn't seem to prioritize directions like regular elevators, because when you're on it and have pressed your floor, it will start going up to your floor, and then stop at the floor just below it to pick up more passengers, and then go back down to the lobby. The biggest disappointment was the complete lack of any lactation/breastfeeding accommodations in the lodge and waterpark. I was told the only place to breastfeed privately is in your own room, or to rent a cabana. In my opinion it would have been impossible to breastfeed while out and about because there is utter chaos everywhere at all times, between the giant lines for everything and the hundreds of kids running around everywhere. I understand that it's a childrens resort and the kids did not bother me at all, but they really should explore the idea of putting up a mother & baby cabana for mothers to use as needed, away from the crowd and noise. I was completely surpised and appaled that there were absolutely NO lactation or breastfeeding provisions in place. This is supposed to be a childrens resort but they have no lactation or mother & baby rooms in the lodge anywhere, nor is there a sitting area in the family changing room that could have been used in a pinch. I asked the waterpark staff and they did attempt to find me a vacant cabana that I could pay for, but they were fully booked. I was told that the only option I had was to go back to my room. I had high hopes for the arcade, but then I counted 6 games that were in error mode, and the prize room attendant was beyond rude. When she was ringing up our prizes, she told us to drop our card in the bucket of discarded cards, then she messed up and had to start over, so we had to sift through well over 100 cards to find the ones that matched the numbers on the computer. The whole time, she was huffing and puffing, and blaming me and my daughter saying, "this is why you hold on to your card until the order is all the way done" and apologizing rudely to the people in line behind us while gesturing at us that it was our fault for holding up the line. The whole time, she never even helped us look through the hundreds of cards. My daughter and I went through the stack three times before I asked her to verify the card number, to which she said she had told us the wrong number to start. Then when the order was almost done, she tossed a bag of m&ms at my daughter and very rudely said, "you don't have enough tickets for that one". The food and drinks here were extremely expensive and not worth the price. The cheapest cocktail in the waterpark is $16 and only has one liquor in it. Beers in the waterpark are $8 for a deuce. We got to the breakfast buffet right at 7:30am as suggested and per our reservation, but the food was only lukewarm and none of the food was good. My family went ahead of me, so we wouldn't be late for our reservation, as I was still feeding our baby. When I got there, I told tbe one hostess my party name and that my family had already been seated, and she very rudely shrugged her shoulders and walked off, and the other hostess ignored me altogether. I had to call my husband to come to the front and get me and the baby. For two adults and a child, the bill was $65 and we barely ate anything. There is a huge line for the breakfast buffet in the morning, but they only seated maybe half of the available tables so that was odd. The cheapest dinner entries at the restaurant start at $20, and just a burger with no fries in the waterpark is $14. We wound up using our food tokens just for drinks in the waterpark and doordashed food the rest of the time. read more

Me and my mom came here for a one night stay till I see my dad and we ran into problems the moment we got there. First we needed a keycard just to get into the place but a nice gentleman opened the door for us. When we walked in teenagers were screaming and playing in the main lobby, and the hotel staff started yelling like crazy. We finally got our room key after 10 minutes at the front desk. There was a window of the waterpark it was closed and looked nasty and really dirty. The elevator was sounding a bit strange and weird. Its sounded like it was time for a clean up and needed oil to sound smoother. The vending machine room was also really hot in there. The room was nice they gave us two rooms when we only asked for one which was nice, but we didn't need it so it was kinda useless. The balcony was nice but the big AC unit was right there so it was quite loud. Then when we went down the eat breakfast the next morning. We wanted to drop our luggage at the front desk so we wouldn't have to carry it all over the place they said no, and asked us to just take it with us. In my opinion this place really need to get better staff and repair their stuff for now. Not coming back. read more

Our first trip to Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) was so much fun! Who knew there was so much right in our own back yard?! When we arrived, we checked in, got our complimentary wolf ears and went straight to the water park! One of the perks about this resort is you can play before your stay. While your room is being prepared, you can head to the water park and after checkout, you can stay and play! The water park (indoor and outdoor) had so much to do, we still hadn't done everything by the end of our stay. The water park is fun for EVERYone, even my littles could enjoy the "big" slide! When we checked into our room, using our wristbands (so hi-tech!), the kids immediately noticed the themed room (Kid Kamp), complete with bunk beds! The GWL entertainment channel in their "tent" was also a hit. We unpacked and disinfected the room, even though the staff did a wonderful job cleaning. I'm in love with the details-like the paw print soap! Our room even had a cute, little enclosed balcony that the kids hogged! I love that GWL isn't so money hungry that they forget ppl sacrifice to make this trip. We were able to bring in our snacks and lunch which significantly cut down on costs. We did enjoy breakfast at the lodge though, which consisted of a slightly elevated continental breakfast and omelette station. We also had pizza one night and it wasn't half bad! There are definitely some opportunities for "nickel and diming", for example the Build-a-Bear is included in the Pup Pass but the clothes are not...needless to say, our wolves are au natural! We visited the arcade with the twenty points included on the Pup Pass and with a little present from Gammy, they got thirty more points. After that, the arcade was over. ‍ We also bowled-the smaller balls and shorter lanes were definitely fun for the kids and there was a discount for having a Pup Pass. The morning yoga and nightly dance parties were an absolute hit with my kids. The energy from the staff was absolutely amazing. On the entire trip, I can only say there was one employee who seemed like they didn't want to be there. Outside of the that, the customer service was impressive-at all levels. This trip was our first, but it certainly won't be our last-hubby is already planning for next year! read more

It was a very fun experience. The facility was surprisingly very clean. It's spacious and there are tons of activities... but we all know this about family fun resorts so let me break down the things parents really want to know! Overall we will definitely be back. The kids had a blast ages 4 to 15! 1) Think Disney but you Dave about $4k lol. Cashless venue and you can put your card in park bracelet. I choose to get the card attached to adult band and my teen. The littles get bands without the chip by default but if you so choose, you can have the room key/card added. 2) They have wolf ears (like mouse ears) and there are themed ones at their swag gift shop. Like an entire wall of them lol. They don't seem to be as popular as the general ears though. Likely due to price. The swag varies. It's pricey. From general shirts to swim gear to bags to personalized items. I did opt in for the wolf cup and the reason is the food and drink is ridiculously expensive ($40 for a burger, small fountain drink, kids 4 nugget meal & a pretzel lol) with the wolf up you can refill it unlimited during your day by simply scanning the sticker on it. Keep in mind that the sticker will come off with washing and from water over time (smart move lol) so you'd need to buy another unlimited option if it does. 3) water park... the big water play zone spray park is great for all ages. Even the slices that look a little intimidating but they seriously aren't. Little like mine who is 4 and doesn't swim we're able to go down and they can wear their life vests or from home swimmer jackets/arm puffs . You want to stay at the bottom or go down the other side next to them to meet them down at the end. There's no pool you slide into. I'd also recommend water shoes (I skeeve everything lol) . There are also big slides for the teens and teens were actively having a great time in there too. Those sides do go to a pool and little aren't able to go on them. There is a wave pool which isn't stagnant water but the bottom of pool has debri or was just discolored not sure. But water looked much cleaner than the last two pool inside which we didn't do. One was the infant and toddler gated water play pool/sprinkler area it had darker water and looked dirty. Probably from the diapers eww. I can't even lol thankfully neither of mine were too young to go there lol. The other was the indoor version of the outside pool. Standard pool with basketball hoops I didn't see the lazy river though so maybe that was someplace else. Food court inside, cabanas available (which seemed silly tbh because you are all the way in back and can't see anything and there's no privacy lol) and tiki kind of bar area. Including a swim shop for essentials as needed. Bathrooms were located in the hallways and heated. It is VERY warm inside the interior water park. Be warned. Even if you don't plan to partake in water play you will leave soaking wear from sweat lol (not kidding) if you have elderly or anyone with you with breathing issues, just be sure to find a spot where you can feel occasional air flow when it goes on for them. Ask staff. 4) outside pool: very nice sized pool and some sprinklers. Shaded area and non shaded. Basketball hoops, a walk in pool which is great for older or disabled. Similar to interior but this water is crystal blue, less busy and really enjoyable! 5) other activities: there's a lot- build a bear, laser tag, 3D movie theater, two arcades (one older and the other all ages), duck bowling alley, character meet and greets, shows at two stages in lobby, dance parties, bingo, sweet treat shops, stone mining, the wand game thing (think Harry Potter lol), outdoor adventure rope course, rock wall, adventure training (think Jedi training) 6) food: expensive on the resort property but there are restaurants and activities nearby like ifly! There's a sit down restaurant but stars aren't great and I think it's buffet style, pizza place, burgers and a Dunkin' Donuts shop in the resort. Lots of vending machine rooms and some rooms have mini bars with snacks for triple the price. 7) rooms: ours was furthest from lobby but closest to water park, top floor, amazing views of exterior water and adventure park. Nice size balcony. Very very clean and nothing looked aged. I thought tv was oddly placed but I liked that the bedroom and living space had a partition. Air was perfect temp in the room. Microwave in room and fridge. Sink. Bathroom was nice size and clean. You can request an extra mattress be brought in for more room if needed. Keep in mind that they only have 30 on hand. 8) parking is paid with a pass that hangs so when you get there you can drive up to register then tag car and go park or go park register then go back to hang tag. 9) check in: in person, mobile or kiosk. I would say 3.5 stars. We went to a GWL location in Pennsylvania many years ago, and it wasn't as nice as this one. We actually left a day early and went back home because our daughter was only 3 at the time and was over it. Now, we went back for her 11th birthday and with her 5 year old sister too, and they had a rather good time overall. We stayed one night because the price made sense to do so. The park opens at 10, and you can check in at anytime to use the park, even before your room is ready. You can also use the park all day after you have checked out, if you so choose. You get a text when your room is ready, as well as which room to go to. They have lockers for rent in the water park, but we did fine with leaving our things in the trunk and taking a plastic lanyard to protect the phone and keys, etc. The water park itself has a wave pool, kiddie area, nice splash pad, and a larger pool with basketball hoops and a ropes course in the pool as well. There's also a few water slides throughout. Outside, there's another pool, ropes course up above, and an area for mini golf at an extra charge. What I don't love is that everything except the water park itself requires an extra charge. It's quite a cash grab, especially if you want to go do the arcade or anything else. There's also too many cabanas inside, which doesn't make much sense to me but people like to waste their money so I can't blame the place for having so many. Unfortunately, it does come with the absence of a hot tub and a swim up bar, which is disappointing. I counted at least ten times that someone got hit in the head with a basketball from an errant pass or airball, including someone who was sitting outside the protective ropes, so be alert if you're going to be in that area. There were also a ton of empty chairs in that area, so you could drop your clothes and towels there if you can't get a lounger elsewhere. The floor near the wave pool is a good skid free texture, and I wish they used that throughout the park because it can be quite slippery otherwise. There's places to eat in the lodge and the water park. Basically your frozen pizza, tendies, etc. for if you're the kind of parent who needs to feed their kid the second they say they want something or if you're not up to exploring the Charlotte and Concord area for something better. There's also a Dunkin Donuts on site. As a side note, this Dunkin doesn't accept the Dunkin app, so if you think you're gonna scan for a free medium beverage with purchase, think again! I was annoyed at that, but too groggy to make a scene. My older kiddo got a free donut for her birthday, so that was nice. We got a text at 3:30 that our room was ready, and we had no problems accessing the room with our wrist bands. Rooms are supposed to be ready by 4, so this wasn't that much earlier, but it was busy when we went. If you go at a down time maybe your room will be available earlier. We stayed in the Kid Kamp room which has a bunk bed, full size bed, and a fold out couch as well. When we first got to the room, the AC was set to 65. Not nice for having just got out of the water park, but we quickly warmed the room up by switching the heat on. The room was clean, and the addition of a balcony/patio is a nice touch here. Of course, you can smell the occasional cigarette smoke even though the place is supposed to be smoke-free, but that's to be expected I suppose. There was an ash tray on our balcony, so go figure. Our room also had a microwave and mini fridge in addition to a coffee maker, and there's a safe on the wall as well. There were 2 TVs in the room, including one in the kids' alcove. I do wish there was a privacy curtain to close off the kids' section of the room, so you may want to bring something to hang up for more privacy. The room was quiet enough at night, but you can occasionally hear creaking from the guests staying above you. Hope they were having a good time, haha! I left the fan on for some white noise to help me sleep better. The light from the hair dryer dubbed as a night light, but that's not saying much. Could use something for some kind of lo They had a dance party for the kids the night we stayed, which was pretty decent with bubbles everywhere, but it started at 9 so my kids didn't last too long into it. I guess everyone else just has their kids staying up until whenever these days? There was also an animatronic show immediately preceding the dance party. It was rather busy when we went, but I think because some schools are on spring break, so parking may take a minute to find a spot. If you're coming from out of state to explore Charlotte, staying here might be a good option, but I wouldn't go for this alone. It's nice but can be rather limited for the price, unless you're willing to pay extra for build a bear, wolf ears, on site restaurant, mini golf, popcorn, 4D movie, gem mining, etc. They offer plenty, but none of it included with your stay other than the water park. read more

Grandparents that live at a distance DON'T GIFT this to your Son or Daughters Family. I was told that all my Son needed to get in and stay the night was a number reference and paid in full. He was told I had to be there why if it's completely paid for??? I live in SC NOT NH!!!!! Unbelievable circus read all the complaints about cold food and other. So in order to get a credit to have them try again at a different date. I would have to pay $25 fee and have to pay full price for the one night stay room. So can't imagine that amount with already paying $213. Tickets to a Children's museum or Science museum would be more successful with less problems. We love coming to great wolf lodge. There's so much to do and good for any season. We live about an hour away so it's a good little getaway for a night. The rooms feel clean, provide a fridge and microwave. They even sent a pack and play at no cost for my 1 year old. The workers are generally very nice and accommodating. Check in is easy at their kiosks with a helper nearby to assist or in person at the desk. Checkout is even easier with a text. Wish there were a few more big slides for the big kids but overall it's fun for any and all ages. Towels provided to be checked out, life vests available, and other things to do when you need a break. My son loves magiquest. Keeps him busy and running around. Have never had an issue with noise or other interruptions. We usually bring microwavable food as they can be pricy or just go grab something off resort. My only wish was that everything was a bit more affordable and for stairs at every level. Waiting for the elevator for levels 3 & 4 can take so long. Coming here is something we like to do once a year but would love to do more extras if prices allowed, like gem mining, VR, mini golf, ropes course, arcade etc. They have passes to make it more affordable but it adds up quick regardless. We usually bring our own food and just do magiquest and the water park. read more

Very overrated! they tell you that you can visit the water park until you room is ready, which is supposed to be at 4:00 pm. My room wasn't ready until around 5:30. After driving a distance to get here and being in water, child (and adults) are exhausted and may need a nap. There was an indoor pool that wasn't available that my child wanted to get into. Eventually, it opened. Being that the water entertainment closes at 8:00 pm every day, all water entertainment should be completely functional the entire time. read more

Disappointing Experience - Hidden Fees, Charge Attempts & Overpriced Everything I will never return to Great Wolf Lodge. The entire experience felt like a cash grab with very little value. First, they charge for parking now. If you are not staying overnight then you can not leave the park and re enter without paying another 19.99 fee. That is vaguely discussed upfront and charged 19.99 to your room upon arrival. Then they quietly removed features from the $79.99 pass just to upsell the $99.99 version. If you haven't been before, you wouldn't know what you're missing. On top of that, there were unauthorized attempts to charge my card after I had already settled my bill. I was told no additional charges would be made, yet I saw attempted charges that didn't even match the agreed amounts. That's shady and unacceptable. The water park itself is extremely humid like a mold trap waiting to happen. If you've never been, you wouldn't realize how unpleasant that can be. My room was dirty upon arrival, and the whole place felt poorly maintained. The food? Far from fresh and wildly overpriced. If you're looking for a clean, transparent, family friendly getaway this ain't it. Spend your money somewhere that respects both your wallet and your time. read more

Overall, a wonderful little family getaway! We planned a little overnight trip during my daughter's spring break as a staycation, and it was great! The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities needed. The hotel itself has great and free activities for kids to do throughout the day, along with other, paid activities. We only did the water park, arcade and free activities and that was plenty for our family. My daughter loved the dance parties and story/craft time. The water park was clean, and the temperature was perfect for swimming and playing. They also have towels, if you don't want to bring your own. We loved the splash pads and wave pools. I will say it is limited for kids who are shorter, but still a good age/can swim, so my daughter was bummed she couldn't do any of the slides besides the one. They also had ample amounts of life vests if kids need those. I felt very safe with all the lifeguards around. I will say the food wasn't amazing, and their prices were a little steep for what you get, but we went off site for dinner and brought our own breakfasts, so that worked for us. We will certainly be back for another staycation adventure! read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for a long time and finally had the opportunity to take my niece here. What an awesome place for kids. I live in the Charlotte area so we did not stay at the hotel. The prices were steep but the employees raved that staying there made everything cheaper?. Anyways the indoor park was awesome! I'm 30 years old and had a ton of fun. There are big water slides and smaller ones. We were able to fit 4 adult and 1 kid on a float and go down one of the slides which was so fun! The big jungle gym was also fun! Those orange and green slides were simple but still a lot of fun. Every so often the big jungle gym has a bucket that drops. That's one of the best parts of the place. Indoor, the great wolf water park also has a pool and a wave pool (not pictured). The wave pool is your typical pee pool. I was not willing to get in it. Of course a kid also took a dump in it and they had to drain the pool while we were there. They only drained half and filled it back up. So as an adult I don't suggest any of the actual pools. They also had an outdoor pool and ropes course that was closed for the season but looked really cool. Outside of the pool area they had arcade games, gem mining, laser tag, balloon making, and all sorts of other things just by the main entrance. The pool area also had a liquor bar for adult! This place has it all! I highly recommend checking it out if you have kids just skip the pools. I definitely plan to return one day cause this place is awesome! read more

Went to treat my children after a wedding. We arrived late but planned to spend day in waterpark. I have been to this location 3 times and twice I have had issues. First time they assigned my room to another party which I discovered when we both arrived at same time and both our keys worked. Second time was okay. This time I left early for my children's safety and not because of water. As I sat at table while my children went down various slides some teenager came and threw his shoes and shirt and wolf ears on my sons chair. I yelled hey that is my son's seat as he walked away either not hearing me or ignoring me. I picked up his stuff and placed it on the ground near my table not in the walk way but out of my kids chairs. They come back to the table quite sometime later and say hey why did you put that there. I told him because that is my son's seat. I am not going to tell my son he can't seat down because some stranger threw his stuff on his chair. The three teenager started yelling at me and I eventfully stood up and pointed my arm to the door and told them they need to leave. One of the teenagers grabbed my bag off the table and threw it. At this point I told them I was going to find someone to help me and they started yelling at me " I don't give a F*&%. I started walking back towards the door trying to find a m,ember of staff to help and their was NONE!!! They finally left and I returned to my seat and a gentleman from a neighbor table came up and asked if I was okay. I told him yes and he said I wasn't sure if you knew them. I told him I did not and that I was trying to find staff to help. He told me if I needed their help he was right over there an disappointed to his table. My daughters returned to the table and were talking to me when I look up and see the same three boys walking by again looking at my daughters and smiling and laughing. I was by the bar area and they were going to the wave pool and did that all the way to the wave pool. A this time I realized I have a huge issue and went find help. I returned to the entry where staff radioed for a manger finally two people arrive and I explained very briefly what happened and showed them the three teenagers in the wave pool. I returned to my table and my son returned. I watched the finally get the kids out of the wave pool and start talking to them. I watched two return to the water and then told my kids we are probably going to have to leave now. All the kids end up back and the water and no one comes and tells me ANYTHING!!! I gathered my children and told them we are leaving . I asked to speak to management on the way out. The guy arrives and tells me he told them to stay away from me. He asked if they had bothered me since and I said no my priority is my children' s safety and I am not going to take the chance that teenagers that will yell at an adult is going to leave my kids alone. I don't think rules mean that much to them. He said they told him something else and he was investigating. Is aid if you have cameras you can see them throw the bag and me looking for someone to help. He said they do have cameras and he will review and investigate. I call bull he has not intention of investigating or he would have already. He offered zero resolution and choose to listen to the teenagers that yelled at me and threw their stuff on my kids chair and never and talked to me until I had someone call and ask. No offer to follow up with me after the investigation or to investigate now so I could feel safe with my Kids staying. I told him at the very least they should have more staff in the area because I could not find any help at all. He said they had plenty of staff . In the end. I chose the safety of my kids and did not want to chance it. I lost money on the day and I would highly recommend that any single moms think twice before coming here. read more

I purchased the wolf pass and they had access to the water park, laser tag, arcade, candy cup and more! I love how they offer fun and free events throughout the day. The kids enjoyed themselves, but I have several concerns. The elevator was not working, the phone in the room did not work, the upselling is ridiculous, none of the staff knew anything, the kids cabin sleeping area needs rails on the bunk beds my daughter fell twice!! This place needs a major upgrade the cost does not equate to the quality. Quality is not the best for the rooms or water park area and my final concern is the room service reps kept coming inside of our rooms without being told . One came while we were out and the other walked in while we all were there. The young man told me they are authorized and gave the rhouse that to walk in to service the rooms! What if someone is sleep or not dressed and a stranger walks in ? This is unacceptable and I did not like this at all. As mentioned the kids enjoyed so if we ever come back which I doubt because I'd rather go to Disney with these prices but if we go back due to the kids we will NOT stay at great wolf lodge. Also there is a $100 a night deposit that they do not tell you about . Parking is 15$ a night per car. read more

This was an awesome trip! Normally for me to write a review it would have to be a terrible experience or an amazing one. from the water park to the arcade to the dining we could not have asked for anything better. Savannah was our server, and she really stood out and took great care of us! Oh, and my mom and I agree that the Lodge had the best burger we ever tasted! My 7 year old Niece said it was the best place ever and ready to go back already. An experience me nor the family will ever forget! read more
