We stayed here for a 3 month healthcare assignment and have really enjoyed our stay. There are a lot of full time residents here and some weekenders mixed in with short term campers. It was a great mix, everyone is so friendly, the campground is huge!! The pool is nice, it has 2 nice playgrounds for kids, basketball court, tennis courts, a game room (costs money for the arcade games and pool table) and putt putt (also costs, cheap though). It has a closed gate, they give you key cards to get in, we felt very safe! They keep raising the prices, but I feel like everyone else is too.. The only thing is the sites are wildly unlevel and all the spots are gravel, hardly any grass in the majority of the sites. If we get another assignment in this area we will 100% be back!

What a find! After a long day of searching for a campground that met our needs, we found it!…read more We are tent campers so finding a place where you are not on top of each other and don't have to hike a mile into the woods isn't easy. There are a few tent areas and ours was 4 spots, however, they could've put in about 20, so yes, they are huge! We were able to sprawl out and have all the space we could ever need. This campground is on 30 acres. It has a pool, bathhouse, beach volleyball, playground, sandbox, 2 pavilions, and a small farm. The farm has a bunny, 2 miniature horses, a full-sized horse, goats, and 2 pigs. The owners live on the property and are very accessible and friendly. We needed wood for our fire and they have it for sale. They even deliver it to your site. The price is right (compared to Walmart or Lowes where the bundles of wood are tiny and burn so quick that you run thru $100 in a night) Our $20 in wood lasted for 1.5 days, which is good since we like fire! The site was super quiet and it was like a little oasis. Where we were was right by the river, so you can hear the babbling, quite peaceful! We had a bunch of trees that kept the campsite cool during the day. There are some tent spots in the middle of the camper areas, but luckily they put us away from everything! There is another tent area that sits across the brook (cute little bridge to get to that side) and I couldn't count how many spots could go into that area, it's wide open! There will be another trip planned!

We are in a 40' motorhome towing a vehicle. We stayed here for a few nights. The campground is 99%…read morepermanent residents (aka trailer park) with less than a dozen sites reserved for transients off the main road in the middle of the campground. They're all back-ins, most are under trees. We had an FHU site near the lake. Some of the sites are terraced because everything slopes down to the boat ramp at the lake. But despite being terraced, our site wasn't level. Sites are gravel, roads are mostly paved. The hookups are way in the back but the sites are also long and wide so you have the room to maneuver your rig to reach the pedestal. Sites have a fire ring and a picnic table. Wifi was nonexistent so we used our own. When ypu check in, you're charged $10 for an electronic key card to enter the park. You get it back in cash when you return the card at check out. That means that any guests who want to visit will have to go to the office and pay a fee just to see you. There's no off leash dog park, restrooms smelled moldy and there wasnt a flat surface in the park. The main reason we likely won't come back is because of the buzzing power lines that run right over the middle of the park. They're loud enough to be disturbing and sound as if you have live electricity crackling above you all the time. Well you do but I don't want to constantly hear it. I don't understand how anyone can live under that.

Met some really cool people while visiting a friend who has a permanent site in this campground,…read morebut I have to say, the grounds could really use some maintenance. The roads are treacherous and so busted up in places that they're barely walkable, given the hills. The bath houses are dated and there's like zero water pressure in the showers. The pool seems to be well-maintained, is basic, but very deep on one end. The check in process is painful. They don't use computers and the staff are slow as molasses. I can't think of any reason why I personally would want to return, other than to hang out with the group again. If you don't have a camper then this place is roughing it pretty hard.

Owner is very nice and very helpful, keeps the bathhouses, grounds and laundry room clean. I enjoy the pool during the warmer months and walking trails as well. After she applied my Passport America discount, my stay was $20 or so. I was pointed to a nearby back-in spot and as this is my very first overnight with the RV, I might have missed a few things. The space was level - no need to break out the leveling cubes. The power post was immediately near and I did not need an extension cord. I did not look for the water or sewer hookups. There was a firepit and a cute swing, neither of which I used tonight. They sell firewood in the office and a bunch of other stuff. There is also a fenced in dog park. They have a wifi, but it didn't reach to my parking spot. The restrooms were clean and there's a picnic area near the pool. Overall, I am very pleased with Iron City and I'm looking forward to a return. [Review 14626 overall, 126 of 2021, number 773 in South Carolina.]

I called to make my month long reservation and no one mentioned no credit or debit cards. The was a broken water line when I arrived. The owner parked me and I do really appreciate that he helped me park and get level. He was off to fix the water line and I was off to pick up rental car so my check-in didn't get taken care of that day. The following business day, I returned from my overnight client and was sleeping when they called me to come to the office. I finished my nap and the owner was at my door to acting like I was avoiding him. I told them when I made my reservation and him when I arrived that I was on contract and work overnight. I went to the office and was informed that they needed a paper check or cash. Who uses paper checks anymore let alone who accepts them?? Since I am consistently traveling, I don't carry cash either. I told them that I would need to call my bank and had a check issued through BillPay. I forwarded the email from my bank that check would be coming. I was again woken up the next day because even though we discussed me forwarding this email, they didn't check their email and wanted confirmation of payment. I had made a reservation for a month and have never moved sooner but I found another campground with an opening and moved there after a week. Too much hassle! If you don't accept standard payment, don't be mad when people don't have another way to pay you ready to go.
