Wow, I had never been to the Great Wall before but a coworker suggested it after we had lunch at Panda Express. I am so glad I tried it. The portion for the combination platter (pork fried rice, choice of meat, & an egg roll) was enough for two and cost less than $10. The one thing I do want to say is that since the order was less than $10, she wouldn't accept debit/credit as payment. I'm glad I had cash or I would have had to buy more food just to pay with my card. I wouldn't have been able to eat it either. I couldn't even finish the food I did buy. The Kung Pao had the perfect amount of spice/heat. The fried rice was equally good. The egg rolls were made to perfection. I will definitely be visiting The Great Wall again. The only other problem is that it's take out only, so plan on eating in the car or you can go to Starbucks right down the road and have a seat in the patio seating and then enjoy a coffee or frappucino after your meal. read more

They aren't exactly a beacon of friendly service but it's a take out joint with fast and delicious food so who cares? I stick to the same menu items for the most part so I can't offer a wide variety of experience. The beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, double cooked pork (extra spicy), shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken (or pork) have always been great. Never a real legitimate complaint I can think of. The pork egg rolls are really good but the shrimp tempura tends to be over cooked more times than not so I quit ordering that. The fried rice isn't anything special but it's not as bad as other reviewers have said. I've noticed that once a reviewer on Yelp has one bad experience they basically destroy whatever business they are reviewing. Regardless of any good experiences at said place. I may be guilty of that too but I try to fair in the overall assessment knowing that some places struggle occasionally. All in all, it's a damn decent place to get some food to go. FIRST, The ONLY reason I gave them a 4 is because it is take out only... I've lived here a very long time and never gave this place a second look... Then I asked around because I was not enjoying my usual places...so we gave this place a try. WE are not huge Chinese food fans...but we do get a "hankering" occasionally. I ordered the Mongolian Beef combo and hubby had "house fried Rice" I have never had Chinese food this tasty....EVER. The Mongolian Beef is pretty spicy (I knew it would be) but I still kept eating it because it was so flavorful. The beef was tender and tasted like proper beef...lol. It came with fried rice and egg roll which was out of this world. The shell was so crispy and fresh. (My mouth is watering writing this...lol) The House fried rice had a lot of different proteins and also very flavorful and fresh tasting. Portions are big. We still had enough for supper tonight...and STILL had leftovers after that! lol. They have an extensive menu.. Which you may. Red to look over before going there lol. Sweet and sour delight you get huge fried shrimp,chicken and beef. My favorite is the chicken curry, it's spicy and delicious. I gave them two starts because they were fast. I ordered a lg sweet & sour chicken & fried rice, I've had better. Apparently there is an up charge when you get fried rice for whatever reason. While any other Chinese food restaurant I've been to, you order a large or a dinner it can OVER feed 2 adults. This large barely fed 2 & I would say my husband was unsatisfied too. The best Chinese in the Midland Odessa area by far! Their fried dumplings are something I could eat all day. And DO dip them in the sauce they provide for you. The only down fall of this restaurant is that they are take out only. We don't live in Midland but we drive there just to eat this food! The menu is large and everything we have tried was extremely good. The portions are large too so don't let the prices scare you because you easily get 2-3 meals out of one order!! read more

This place only serves food to go and cash only with orders under $10. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, so calling in has never seemed necessary, plus I like watching the cooks. I've had the General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Double Cooked Pork and Beef Fried Rice and all were excellent. If you are a Chinese food connoisseur - you know that nothing can take the place of a well seasoned wok. I did add a touch of salt, for my taste, but the flavors were well balanced and the portions are definitely enough for 2. Buyer beware!!!! Food is not too bad, but the service is HORRIBLE. We purchased 2 entrees, 2 soups and on order of spring rolls. After arriving home, we noticed we did not make it home with one of our entrees. Since we both wanted to eat together, I took the whole order back. I asked for a refund on the entire order since we now had no time to eat since we were heading to the movies. The cashier said he could not refund our order because "she" would not allow it. He could only get me what we were missing. I refused since the rest of the order would be cold. The owner finally came up and she too refused my refund. The cashier said they could not refund my order because it would be wasting "their" food & money. I told them they had wasted my gas and more importantly my time. She refused a refund multiple times so I finally told her to cook our entire order over since it was now cold. She rudely left the counter and begin remaking my order while shouting to the others behind the counter. I'm sure she was taking about me the entire time, but unsure since I don't know Chinese. If you are going to get take-out from here check your order before you leave. Once you hand your money over, don't expect any kind of refund even if they are at fault. My advice......just avoid this restaurant. Oh, and they don't accept checks, which is fine, except they don't accept credit cards either UNLESS or order is over $10. I have had 2 times when I tried to call in my order, and the person on the other side hung up the phone. This place has great food but the cashier associate has stifled me to never return. It's all about service when you spend your money at an establishment. The first encounter with this individual I ordered 4 dishes. upon pick up I requested the chili sauce and was handed one cup. I asked the gentleman for a couple more to which I was returned with a glare from him as he exclaimed to me "Really?!" Taken aback I reminded him of the amount of food i had just purchased to which he changed his tone and decided to give me two more. People have bad days so this didn't stop me from calling in again in which I was greeted by the same associate with a please hold and left on hold for 10 minutes so I decided Great Wall was not fit for that night. Upon this evening I called and placed my order fine without a wait on hold and the associate seemed to be in better spirits.... before hanging up he told me "we will start making your order once you come in and pay for it" I was taken aback again at this but agreed. After contemplating the time and my arrival there then waiting 30-45 mins for my meal it wasn't worth it so I called and told the associate waiting for take out didn't make much sense at 8 in the evening so I wanted to cancel the order. He replied word for word" well we have orders cancelled or not picked up so thats why we do that you don't have to call us anymore " it's sad such a good place has to endure the consequences of allowing someone so brute disrespectful and demeaning to run the phones and cashier. We got take out from there this past week and were disappointed. We got the Mongolian beef, General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp fried rice. The nicest thing I can say about the rice was that the shrimp were of a good size,. The rice tasted like cigarettes, It was horrible, I don't know if they didn't clean the grill or what. The Mongolian beef was okay but the chicken was dry and also tasted like cigarettes. And then my boyfriend with a cast iron stomach ended up getting food poisoning from the beef. I think we are going to pass on this next time and go somewhere else even if we have to spend a little more money.. read more

This is one of our favorite "put the kids to bed and have a date night at home" places. We usually get either the curry chicken, general tso's or sweet and sour chicken. The broccoli with beef and the lemon chicken is good as well. We are also fans of the steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, and spring rolls. They let you grab as many condiments, chopsticks, etc. that you need. Everyone is really friendly when we go in there, and it is very fast! Lately, the lines have been out the door nearly but I have never had to stand longer that 5 minutes to pick up my food. Even a walk in order is done in less than 10.
