If you're tired of Panda Express and Pick Up Styx, and want tasty chinese food for a good price, then this is the spot! The food is very good for the price. I usually go for the lunch special, which will run you around $6-$7.The waiters are friendly but at times it can be a little bit difficult understanding them when they take your order. The biggest downside to this restaurant is the interior. It's dated and the wallpaper is horrendous. They also need to do some dusting around the statues and light fixtures. It used the best Chinese food around town; but now I'm just not certain anymore. They are not consistent. We use to go three times a week and now it's once every 3 months, to give it a try again. The last time we visited the food just taste bad, cold and wasn't favorable. We ordered the beef and broccoli, general chu chicken, Vegetable lo mien, and Kung po beef. Last week we ordered the same dishes and the food was better but was only slightly warm. I guess this the new way they serve now, Slightly warm food. So far it still the best in town. read more

Very sad to say that this is probably the only one star I've ever given away to any of my yelp reviews. I did this mainly because of the meal that I had. I couldn't even finish it because it was just that depressing. Even the drinking water I had was disgusting. I ordered some kind of chicken with almonds in it because it's one of the dinner specials, it sounded delicious, but man was I wrong. They should really 86 that item off the menu. Despite my review, I go to the Indian restaurant next door and I see groups of people going in there. The food is pretty good, but they try to take advantage of their customers who do take out. They only half-filled the containers of 3-shreds and filled about 2/3 of the orange chicken. I stopped going here long ago because of the bad service and decided to give it another chance. The first time back in years was yet another disappointment. read more

We've been going to the Great Wall for years and always enjoyed it. But the last two times there has been a definite change for the worst. Tonight we were there and ordered Fried shrimp, low mein deluxe, shrimp in lobster sauce and beef in Oster sauce. First of all the fried shrimp were cold and over breaded. There is absolutely nothing deluxe about the low mein deluxe and the shrimp in lobster sauce had no taste there was no seasoning at all. Wish I had read these reviews earlier ! Great Wall has ALWAYS been a favorite of mines. You could always count on courteous service and great food. I didn't know that ownership had changed and was wondering why my last 2 visits there I was not happy at all with the food quality ..... the first time I thought okay...maybe a different cook ... but this visit once again I was not even remotely close to being happy with the blandness and mushiness of the food . They don't even make their own Thai tea anymore --- it comes in a factory sealed cup supplied by some company -- I will NOT be returning there EVER...however I am appreciative to them for reminding me of my other old time favorite The Thai and Chinese Restaurant on 10th Street West. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. Ordered orange chicken. It was grey. Looked odd, tasted odd. My husband said it looked like lizard. Sent back and ordered beef broccoli and waitress said if you do not like 2nd dish you cannot send it back. I was like WTF? She brings back the 2nd dish and the beef was mushy. I called and Spoke to the manager to ask for a refund and I was willing to drive and return the food myself. He refused to deal with the problem and denied to refund me, he also refused to remake the food.I am out of town for business and decided to buy dinner for my coworkers and now I completely lucked out of $60.00 with no food to eat because of this restaurant with Terrible Service. This place has been around since, FOREVER!!!! The food is pretty good especially if u have a bunch a hungry kids who have no patience :) The food is equivalent to Panda Express but the prices are more like McDonald's value meal. The service is fast and the servers are pretty nice. I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for something quick, tasty and inexpensive. As for the decoration it is what it is.... This place has been there forever. Sadly, so have the decorations, it is in need of a make over. However, the food is pretty decent. Was there with my grandma last night and we had beef with green onions, and sweet and sour chicken. Both entrees came with won-ton soup, and some other appetizers and the entire bill including hot tea for both was under $25.00. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. I absolutely love this place, I can't think of a bad thing to say I guess except maybe service can be slow at times but it's never been so bad that I had an issue with it. The food is cheap and it taste great, you get the most delicious hot black tea while waiting along with some delicious wontons. The food is great, they give you so much I've never left without a to-go box. The servers have always been so amazing, they smile and talk friendly with you and always make sure you're enjoying yourself. I just recently discovered the Thai tea boba, it's got to be one of my favorites it's so delicious and the boba always taste fresh and great. Got there with the family and long wait before being seated on a Saturday night. Lady at the counter (manager or owner?) Very Rude with everyone even on the phone with guest and customers. Seated after 20 minutes and waiter was friendly but very quiet. Food was really good, shrimp fried rice was really good. Lemon chicken was 7 out 10. Orange chicken was decent, and lo-mein was decent as well. Kids loved the beef with broccoli. Egg and flower soup was good as well. Price is not too expensive. Moving here from the San Gabriel Valley (Monterey Park & Alhambra) the food here was just too Americanized! Instead of aromatic Jasmine Rice, we got regular short grain. The tea was bitter. It has always been a pretty good place to eat. Now, they are cutting back--so much so that the sweet and sour shrimp is actually cut into pieces and has VERY heavy batter. I bet the entire entree has a total of 2-3 shrimp. It's not large shrimp to begin with, but cut into pieces and over battered, you hardly even taste it. Stick with a shrimp dish that isn't battered. My wife ordered food that was take out. She came home and ate the meal. Shorty, thereafter, she got sick. She called Great Wall, and the manager was summoned to the phone. My wife told him what had happened. All he said was that the food was cooked at a high temperature. My wife told him that she was a long-time customer, but all he said was that she hopes that she gets better and hung up.
