My family had a great experience at Great Skate. They have Summer Specials and we were able to take 2 adults and 2 children and rent 2 pairs of adult skates (our children own their own skates) for $22 (we signed up for their E-Club and received a BOGO admission fee). It was clean and the staff were attentive. We were glad to spend a few hours out of the heat for a reasonable price and we all got some needed exercise! read more

I was surprised to read the review for 6/6/2020 because that was not our experience at all. I think the previous review referred to a rent-the-facility event. We went to a public skating event on 6/14/2020 and found the safety measures significantly lacking. Yes, they took temperatures at the door, but they also permitted a large number of people in the facility and on the skating floor. The event had been advertised as a ticketed event with reservations made online, but we observed people being allowed to buy tickets at the door. This contributed to the crowding problem. The floor was so packed you couldn't avoid bumping into people, let alone practice social distancing. Few participants wore masks, although the staff did. There did not appear to be sufficient staff available to supervise the number of people they had allowed in. Many skaters wore no wristguards, a safety measure they had enforced in the past. If you have health and safety concerns for yourself and/or family members, it would be best to avoid public skating at Great Skate. read more

My family and friends went here for their Pride skate. We are all over 18 and have to sign a liability waiver to skate here. Then after we are inside and on the skating floor, a floor guard comes up and says we have to have wrist guards to be on the floor. I went and spoke to the manager regarding this and was informed it is company policy and everyone has to wear them. She instantly offered to refund our money. This policy was not posted anywhere visible when entering the facility. It is not posted on the main page of the website. As an adult, who has to sign a liability waiver to skate anyways, I should not then also required to wear wrist guards or not be able to skate. I will not be returning to any Skateland owned facility as long as this ridiculous policy is in place. read more

Dj five stars, food to be expected, the lady who took our groupon Sam was awesome, cleanliness not too bad for the type of environment, but the reason why I rate so low is because of Erica at the concession stand. She was rude, and looks like she really hates her job. When we got the front finally, told us no slice of pizza available and that I would need to wait in line all over again. Then the second time I finally made it to the front the same thing. So I waited till I saw her giving other people their single slices of pizza. She also shorted us our drinks. read more

What you really have here is very poor Management who allows Skate Jerks who are from 20 to 30 years Old to race around the rink since they think they are so Superior and Knock Kids down as they are trying impress someone while they do their Tricks. Save your money and find a Family Friendly Venue that cares about people and mostly children..this place is just a Money Mill. read more

Went on a Friday at noon. Waited in line for 20 minutes to get in. Waited 10 minutes for skates. Waited in line 45 minutes to get a soda at snack bar. Super inefficient place. Dirty, bad area. Really disappointed that the 150+ kids had to sit out for 20 minutes while the 12 weird, creepy adults who are apparently super into skating, got to skate adults only. Come on, what adults come here in the day to skate?!? Get a job, people!!! So, 150 kids crammed all around our table, falling, hitting each other with their walkers, knocking everything off our table, including the soda i waited 45 minutes for, waiting to go back and skate. So ridiculous! Let the kids skate. The only reason I gave it two stars was because my daughter was so excited that she got to try out the new skates Santa left her. Won't be going back. read more

I rented the skate rink for my 9 year old daughters birthday party. We had a blast. The staff was very helpful n had the party skating n playing games the whole night . The price was very affordable n the food n drinks were unlimited. I would have another party there in the future. We loved it. read more

It's your classic old school roller rink. On weekend nights there are a lot of the local 7th and 8th graders. There can be some characters and it's not in the best location, but still always provides some fun. read more

We had my daughter's 8th birthday here today. What a great experience! We chose to go with the 4:30 to 7 time slot because of the special "cosmic skate" type session. Most of the girls attending had never skated before. When I booked the party I also reserved the skate mates - they are like walkers on wheels to help new skaters. The staff was excellent, especially our party host. I spent the same amount of money I would have at Chuck E Cheese and everyone - including adults - had a way better time. This place was the "go to" place. Was a regular, Went about 4-5 times a week. It was definitely the place to be... 3-4 years ago. Then they started making all the rules, and jacking up the prices! Tonight I brought my fiancée and my daughter to go skating for my nieces birthday. Apparently everyone has to wear these wrist guards, well I have a lump (cyst) on my wrist and those wrist guards put pressure on it and hurt. So 3 of the employees said it was okay that I didn't wear it. Then I have the manager telling me I have to put them on, he then gave me attitude and I told him that the wrist guards were painful and he got in my face and yelled at me in front of my daughter because he thinks I gave him attitude. I signed a paper stating that if I fall its at my own risk, why make a mandatory rule about the wrist guards for adults?! What a shame. Lost a lot of business, Rollero it is! read more

Had 12 yr old birthday party on Saturday afternoon. Although there were a lot of people, the girls had a great time. The package included a handful of coins for everyone. The host/server was friendly. The DJ made the party announcements just right. I had seen a couple of bad google reviews and was a little concerned but now I know they were just disgruntled customers. I had a great time at Great Skate, no doubt! They have food, games, music, and roller skating :) my only complaint would be that it was almost terrifying to see so many of the small kids getting practically run over by the older, more experienced skaters. It seems like there could be rules in place to protect the younger, slower skaters...maybe have them on the outer or inner sections so faster skaters aren't weaving in and out around them? All the the staff I came across there were very professional and offered great service. read more

As an avid roller skater I will say they have a well organized operation. Who ever said roller skating is dead has never been here on a Saturday night. The place was packed! The music amazing and the rink was very clean. They provided security for a safe and secure experience for all. I am a speed skater from out of town and have been to many rinks and am very impressed. I enjoy that this is cheap entertainment to go for a date or to bring the kids. The schedule they have has a nice variety for the young ,old, and holiday times. They occasionally have some special for admission, skate rental, slice of pizza, and a beverage on some of the social shopping sites which is an awesome deal! I'm mostly writing this review for a worker. I'd give the experience a three, but the worker Caleb a five. He had me laughing and truly enjoying my time. However, I felt that they were not very organized as we came in a large group and they didn't seem very competent. Caleb was AMAZING!! Please give that kid a raise!! First off, we got there to drop our sons off from 3 to 5 ish. When we got there, the lady told us that the "session" ended at 3:30, and another session wouldn't start till 4:30. And she also told us if we wanted to drop them off for ONLY a half an hour, we would still have to pay full price. I would not recommend going to Great Skate. read more

As a kid I came to great skate, skate land and rollero. I decided to bring my kids to great skate for Family Night on a Monday. It was "$1 night" however the only thing that was $1 was the entry, we had to pay $3.50 to rent my kids skates as I have my own. They made us wear wrist guards even after signing the waiver at the front door. The wrist guards we wet, uncomfortable and really prevented us from being able to do anything using our hands without the long process of removing them. The lockers are .75 EVERY TIME so if you need something, you will need lots of quarters, snack bar line was the slowest. Things have definitely changed for the worse here and I will not be bringing my kids back again. read more

Went on a Saturday night. Should have waited for a less crowded day to go. Pretty much just skated around because I was scared I would knock into someone, which got boring fast. Pros: Pretty good mix of music. Good food, enough space for people to sit down, clean for having so many youngins' rolling around. Great security. They had activities for people to participate in every hour/half hour. Pros: If you get roller blades prepare for you feet to be hurting. If you want a more adult experience I wouldn't recommend it at least not at night. read more

ROLL BOUNCE SUNDAYS ADULT SKATING SESSION I've always wanted to check out this late night (9:30-12:30) adult session on Sundays, but usually had to work the next morning and couldn't attend. Well, finally no work on Monday.I grabbed my sister and skates (lets go!!) It was a 40 min ride from Chandler, not too bad. We arrived 15 mins early, good thing because the parking lot fills up quickly. We waited on line for about 15mins had to fill out a liabilty waiver (in case you break your neck later) If you had your own skates admission was $10 if not $12. Rollerblades are available. You need to leave your shoes for those. Locker rentals are 75 cents.The DJ played R&B, rap and Old Skool.The age range varied from 18- 50+ If you're a fast skater you were encouraged to use the outer circle of the rink, slower skaters inner circle.There was also a smaller circle in the middle of the rink where folks practiced their skate moves and there was a guy giving skate lessons too.Dress attire varied jeans,t shirts,tank tops, sweat suits,shorts,skirts,leggings, heck I seen someone with a shorts pajama set on. No bags or phones are allowed on the skate floor. They also discourage wearing accessories. Overall, I had a great time and would love to go back!!! read more

Was there for like ten minutes and was immediately made to feel unwelcome on the floor as a beginner. Didn't even bring it up to me who was the only beginner with my group some girl that works there just went up to the people I was with. would love my money back. read more

This used to be the premier place to go skating, now it has turned into a joke. There is absolutely no supervision on the floor. The one floorguard they do have was more concerned with hanging out in the middle with his friends or chatting up the young ladies there. Crowds of people were standing on the floor, people were skating in the wrong direction, and to top it off, grown ass people were using skate mates designed for 8 year olds and under. They had an "advanced rhythm skate" which was anything but advanced. Small children wit rental skates were allowed on and instead of actually enforcing the "advanced" portion of the skate, the floorguard and DJ were just skating around talking with their friends. Maybe if they had a little more supervision on the floor, and the employees would actually do their job, they wouldn't have to REQUIRE actual "advanced skating" grown ups to wear their old nasty wrist guards. Everyone has to wear them even if you sign a waver saying you absolve them of all responsibilities. Im a 50 year old man and they still REQUIRED me to wear wristguards or don't skate. They said it was because they got sued for a broken wrist. It's no doubt the patron wouldn't have broken their wrist if their employees were doing their job. Will never return to this rink again...what a joke it has become. read more

GREAT SKATE is a wonderful place. Have taken my son there since he was able to walk and he enjoys himself every time we go. Not to mention the management and staff are all so welcoming and you can tell they really enjoy their job, make the experience so much more fun. This is great place if the kids know how to skate. Not a great place for them to learn. I brought my younger niece 8, and younger nephew 6 in at the beginning of the month. My niece knew how to skate already and had a great time. My nephew was a different story. He was very hesitant to get on the rink. I was concerned about the other kids' speed when skating, but there were no accidents. I recommend keeping the smaller ones at home until they are competent roller skaters but they will have fun if they know how to skate. Could have been really pricey but we stayed away from the snack shop except to buy something to drink. read more

Had my Daughters Birthday party there today and it was the best!! Someone had goofed on our reservation and the GM Rodney made sure we had the best and everyone was awesome!! Loved the DJ too!!
