So I bought a variety of pot pies to try so I'll share my reviews of each: The chicken pot pie: Really good the pie crust they use is top notch and is packed with good portion of large chunks of chicken and veggies. Chocolate Pecan pie: was amazing def recommend pairing with the above chicken pot pie for dessert. Taco Pot Pie: gotta say this was really good unique creation with great taco seasoning making it well worth trying. Thanksgiving in a pie: Well another unique very tasty pie. The cranberry really gives it a nice sweet to go With the savory turkey . Well worth trying. Meatball Pot Pie: meh. This was truly lacking flavor and texture I would expect. Very bland marinara which was watery with chewy bland meatballs that needed breadcrumbs in them. Not something I recommend trying. read more

The ch Ike's pot pie was a little bland for my taste, lacked something to really make it pop. The beef stew pot pie was very good, and I enjoyed it for many days! I stopped by here the other day, as I had won a gift card from an Instagrammer I follow. I live in Clawson and had seen the store before, but have never stopped in. I don't eat pot pie very often but I do enjoy it. I ended up buying both a 5" chicken pot pie ($9.50), which can probably feed 1-2 people, as well as a 5" chocolate pecan pie ($7). I haven't had the chicken pot pie yet at the time of this review, but my mom and I split the chocolate pecan pie this weekend, and it was DELICIOUS. They also have meatball pot pies, which I think my dad would like; vegetable pot pies; and even gluten-free pot pies. Most of the pot pies (the savory ones, at least) are frozen, and you just pop it in the oven for 50-60 minutes to cook. I did see on their website that if you want your pie to be hot upon pickup, you can call them at least an hour beforehand, and they will have it ready to go for you. My wife and I have been getting pot pies from Great Lakes Pot Pies for a little more than a year now. Everything we have had is delicious. One thing I have to point out is, in the fall you have to try their Thanksgiving Pot Pie. IT IS AMAZING!!!! We started getting them at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Now we can get them at their store on 14 Mile in Clawson. Stop get a couple different pies and put them in the freezer for that day you don't know what to fix for dinner. read more

I purchased a Great Lakes Pie at the RO Farmers Market. The small pot pies are around $10 and we turned it into a 'light' lunch for two with a small salad or something on the side. Fresh made daily by a large masked staff madly assembling deliciousness within a tight, few hundred square feet behind the counter. It is a sight to behold. So much good eats are stuffed into each pie, so much butter in a flakey crust, you will rush home to anxiously "await the bake". We have enjoyed about 6 pies so far with a new one (Thanksgiving Pie- a specialty) in the freezer for dinner tomorrow. Well damn! How did I not know about this gem sooner! I ordered a holiday potpie, a small meatball, and 2 hand pies as meal options to get my husband and I through the most recent lockdown. All winners! And the customer service was spot on. While you can microwave the hand pies, I very much recommend baking as the crust is so flaky! I will be buying again for sure. I drove by and saw the sign for this company. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that they were opening a store. I have bought pot pies from them several times at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market. Their pies are the best that I have ever eaten! They have several varieties in addition to their original Chicken Pot Pie including Meatball & Cheese and vegetarian. My mother and I stopped in today. She was looking for some meals post surgery for her and never heard of the store. ( I'm out of state). She is allergic to anise/ fennel ( in addition, it super messes up with high blood medications). She wanted the Italian meatball pot pies, but I was worried about fennel that is found in sweet Italian meatballs. The guy at the counter didn't think so, but asked the staff out back. I read the ingredients on the package and saw they listed individual herbs and no fennel. But the counter guy insisted we wait until the third confirmation that there was none in the recipe. I recently purchased over $100 worth of pot pies. SIx chicken, two beef, and two thanksgiving pot pies. The chicken pot pie was filling but, the thanksgiving one was very disappointing though, sad to say. It barely had any turkey at all, and I don't think it was worth $15 dollars. Haven't tried the beef yet, but will be soon. I like this company but that turkey one upset me, it should have been more actual turkey instead of 4-6 tiny cubes of turkey inside. read more
