I've been sleeping on their breakfast sandwiches apparently, a little spendy at almost $10 for full sandwich with no sides or drink, but you get choice of good bread and it's good and filling with sausage or ham (the little garlic butter spread they add really does a lot for it). I must start by saying that I love Great Harvest Bread. I much dislike the Saint George locations. Three times I have ordered sandwiches on the Great Harvest app only to pick them up at the appointed time and hear "What order?". The first two times I waited in the store while the sandwiches were made. The third time I was leaving town and couldn't wait. I had to have the charges refunded to my account. Why have an app to make online orders when the employees are completely oblivious that an order has been made? My second and last complaint regards the price of a loaf of bread. One loaf in St. George is about $9. I travel frequently to northern Utah and purchase bread at Great Harvest from Salt Lake City to Ogden at about $7 per loaf. I often buy a few loaves to bring home to St. George and freeze to avoid paying an extra $2 per loaf locally. I understand that each franchise may set their own price for the bread, but $2 per loaf higher? Keep your bread; I'll continue to buy in northern Utah. And as for ordering sandwiches? What's the point? The poor service leaves a bad taste in my mouth which cannot be cleared by the taste of a good sandwich. read more

Don't waste your time or your money! This place is a joke. I ordered one of their sandwiches claiming to be "piled high with turkey" sounded like a big nice sandwich. In the phot you see it's a thin slice of turkey. It was not a filling sandwich! Do yourself a favor and go to any other sandwich shop in town!!! I have been here quite a few times. The focaccia bread is my favorite to get. If I'm going to be completely honest, the items are very overpriced and the bread is always a little dried out and only lasts about a day before it starts becoming extremely dried out. It's been very disappointing. I keep giving this place tons of chances, but I have been disappointed every single time. Kneaders definitely has way better bread. I am not sure if it is like this at every location, or if it is just here in St George. I will say the employees are extremely kind and I am treated very well every time I come in. They only had day old bread! This was at 9am. We have never had this at Great Harvest. Since we were on our way back to California we took a shot. We lost and we're disappointed. I was excited to find a loaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread today but disappointed when we cut into it and found that the chocolate chips are only pressed on top of the bread. After participating in the St. George Gobbler we found a coupon for Great Harvest in the goodie bag. We thought it was for Kneaders at first, but then corrected our error. Kinda wish it had been Kneaders. We came here not knowing much of what to expect, but decided we'd try somewhere new. We being all 12 of us. We kind of bombarded the establishment and their response is mostly why they're getting 3 stars instead of just 2. I would rate their service as a solid 4. It was friendly, prompt and professional. I don't expect more, and they definitely met that standard. Not to mention the free piece of bread :) Now, the sandwiches were...OK. I didn't love mine. It was the Vegetarian sandwich and it was just missing something. It had fresh crisp veggies, which was great, but the flavor combination just...didn't strike me as worth while. It just didn't have cohesion. It seemed that the feeling was shared among many of those we dined with. Cost was OK. I didn't feel like it was a steal, but I felt it was fair. One thing I was confused by was what the "Large" meal deal included. I thought I would get carrots plus an apple or bag of chips. No. I got a large drink. Sad I spent the extra 50 cents, but whatever, it was my bad so no docked stars here. Some complained that the half salad cost a lot for the quantity provided. The full salad seemed about three times bigger than the half salad. The establishment is pretty small, so our group of 12 pretty much filled it up, leaving some seating outside and along the walls. This is my second time stopping at Great Harvest while passing through St. George. It most certainly will not be my last. The bread produced by this place is amazingly good. So much so that I bought two loaves along with my sandwich and have already eaten one loaf. :-) The sandwiches are great because they are made fresh with quality ingredients starting with the amazing bread. For a small, locally owned business, you would think the customer service would have been better. Unfortunately, it wasn't, and that kinda set the mood for the entire meal. As soon as my family got to the register to order, the cashier visibly rolled her eyes at my mom when she asked a simple question. Mind you, this was our first time here. The cashier then took our order, and continued to answer our questions with a scowl. I don't think we were asking stupid questions and, like I said, we had never been here before (which we told her) and she didn't seem to care. Then, it took about 30 minutes to get our food. Since our food consisted of four sandwiches, I'm not really sure why it took that long - it wasn't super busy or anything. Once we finally started eating, we realized that the things we asked for NOT to be in our food, were. I specifically asked for no onions (and watched her mark it on her order sheet) and still had huge slices of onion in my food. What gives? Overall, there was nothing phenomenal about this location, and the lack of customer service will stop me from ever referring this place to a friend. read more

I've never written a review until now, because I honestly think that this place deserves it. I was sold on this bakery from the very moment I walked in. The atmosphere was a pleasant one- very cozy and inviting. It's the kind of place you'd visit when you want to just forget your troubles for a while. I visited this place yesterday for the very first time and ordered a grilled cheese panini. The lovely gal working there said that the garlic herb spread was what really gave it that 'kick.' Somehow, I trusted that she wouldn't let me down. So when she asked me what cheeses I wanted inside, I said "Y'know what? I have all my faith in your taste. Make this sandwich in whatever way your heart desires." She did not fail to impress me. The provolone melted perfectly. The crust was light, but still crispy. Every single bite was heavenly. As I was digging in, I also ordered a cinnamon roll. If you guys ever visit, I would highly recommend asking to have your roll heated up. It's the best decision you could possibly make, I swear. It was fluffy, the middle was gooey, and the icing was yummy, too! The food here is so delicious, you'd think it was illegal. I was too full to finish everything, but you can bet your buns I certainly tried!! My only regret was not making sure I remembered that girl's name. As wonderful as my food was, it was just the icing on the cake; her service was what truly won me over. She had the patience of a monk, practically. No employee anywhere has ever been so kind to me as this individual. I felt like we connected on a spiritual level. Everything she made was so on-point. I don't even live in Utah, but I'll be damned if I don't visit this bakery at least several more times in my life. I love their wheat bread and sandwiches. The reason for the for the three stars is the dress code of some of the employees. Short shorts and exposed tattoos are unacceptable to me. Once I mentioned it to the wife of the manager. The next time I was in the store some employees were still in short shorts. The sandwich was absolutely delicious, but the soup was not so good - very runny and not overly flavorful. I am hoping I just selected the wrong soup that day and that is not the norm because the sandwich was really good. I love Great Harvest, love their food, bread and treats, but.......gave it 1 star because the girl making the food DID NOT change her gloves before, during or after making several orders. She sneezed, she answered the phone, cut and picked up chicken for a salad, brought it out to the dining area and then back to the kitchen to start another order.....all without washing hands and putting on clean gloves. Guys...this is food safety 101. Please have your staff take a food handler class and take precautions to protect your customers. This is something that should be second nature for food service workers. Wash and change gloves EVERY time you perform a different duty, and after you answer the phone. Take your gloves off before, wash hands and put clean gloves back on. This should be ingrained into every function of food service. read more
