I like their customer service and now I can check-in online and don't have to wait in line, what a brilliant idea.

My family loves this place, too. It's quick. Everyone is very nice. My boys get great cuts from James and my husband does too. They are all so attached to him, they call themselves the James Gang. I recommend him highly for boys haircuts! Usually not much of a wait but if there happens to be a bit of a wait...just put your name in and wander down the block to look at the cute kittens in the window at PAWS or head across the street for coffee. Great neighborhood hair cut joint! We usually walk here but there is parking inside the building...just turn into the garage on 87th st. read more

This is my regular place now. Not crowded, cool guys cutting hair. Parking is in the garage in back. Like my cut and always good conversation. For a simple haircut, can't see why you'd pay more. read more

As a construction worker when I walk into a barber shop and see three or four people I'm ok with the expected wait time. Then while I'm waiting three or four more people enter and are called up in front of me because their little limber wrists had the time to call in on-line. It's a GD haircut not brain surgery and the call in system stinks. read more

Ive been coming to this Great Clips regularly for the last 6 years. Although they seem to have a higher turnover lately it's always a cut above the others. Which is why I drive from Edmonds to go there. the stylists are attentive and knowledgable. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 star rating was the unfriendly banter between the two employees, which struck me as quite unprofessional and had me squirming in my chair a bit (maybe they used to date?). Oh, and my wife had to fix the uneven parts on the back of my head when I got home. But I will definitely go again! read more

Great haircut but I had to wait longer than expected. I went to the website and "checked in" for what they told me would be a 29 minute wait. So I showed up 29 minutes later on the dot, and was told that it would be another 15 minutes. Not too bad; I went out for a bit and came back in 12 minutes--this time I had barely sat down with a magazine before Nicole was ready to take on my balding head. She asked very effective questions to determine what I wanted and prepared me quickly and efficiently. The cut itself was also quick and efficient; came out exactly as I wanted. Great job! read more

I've been coming here for 6 years. Brian, James and the crew do an awesome job. After moving out of Greenwood I still go out of my way to see the crew at Great Clips. The place is very clean and the staff takes good care of the customers. read more

They have a very useful phone app for checking wait times and making appointments on your way in, and they do a quick and friendly job with my easy haircut. Perfect for me. read more

Not your average Great Clips! I went here on a whim, after reading other positive reviews of this place here on yelp. I wanted to hack off a foot of hair, and simply hoped that the final result would be presentable. I was pleasantly surprised that this Great Clips had the feel of a locally owned, and cared for, establishment. Until yesterday I had never heard a stylist offer to pick up a special item for somebody (an elderly woman in need of a special shower cap), in time for her next appointment. They had music playing (not too loudly) and my stylist Maria was funny but not intrusive. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and I am happy to say that after two years of cutting my own hair, I now have somebody I trust to do it for me. Bottom line: The people here clearly love where they work, and are personable and fun, without being intrusive. I just wish that they could get out from under the Great Clips name because I know that people shy away from that. Support a fantastic locally owned business by giving them a try :) (btw, I've never written a review for anything, but this place inspired me to give their reputation a boost). read more

I went back in for a "real" haircut (layers from all-one-length) hair and was thrilled with the result of that too!

I love it when Mario cuts my hair! He has a way of blending it very evenly so it always looks great all the way around. Additionally, he always cuts the front a little differently than any other stylist I have ever had anywhere so that is looks nicer than usual! My hair is a little tricky to cut and has some cowlicks, so it is always nice when someone can make it look as good as he does! read more

The Solon and the stylists are very friendly anddo exactly what you ask them to do. The stylist gave me a perfect haircut the way I liked which suited me beautifully. read more

I really have no complaints about this place. The gentleman at the counter greeted me with a smile and quickly got me seated. I went in thinking I'd donate 10" of my hair, but the man convinced me otherwise, good choice. I got a simple cut, nothing special. It was quick, he was friendly, AND I got a 5 dollar off coupon for my next cut. The hours are great also, weekdays they are open from 9AM-9PM, I don't know many other places that are open past working business hours. Oh, and he wasn't messy. This is the first haircut I got that I didn't have to go home and change my shirt after. If you have to park, there is a small, free public lot about a block north of the place. read more

If you are female, do not come here! They only know how to do a mans hair cut and you will walk out looking as such. Went in to get a trim for a pixie cut and left in tears. If I could give a lower rating, I would. read more

I just want to say Karin did a wonderful job cutting my hair. I look forward to seeing her in the future. I look and feel younger!!! She is a real pro read more

Seriously the BEST haircut I've ever gotten from a great clips location, which is where I've been getting my haircut for 3 years. Everyone there is super friendly and professional. Prices are very reasonable. AWESOME PLACE!! read more

I can't believe the positive reviews for this place. Unbelievably poor hair cut accompanied by poor service. Very technically poor and then sad customer service. Oh, and before you say "You get what you pay for", I usually get my hair cut for $12 and it always looks solid, because the person who does it was trained, and developed her skills (not just clocked the hours or whatever it takes to get the piece of paper to allow one to cut hair). Oh, and the place is a total dump. The worst part is how the tatted up "sylist" couldn't wait to get get me out of the chair and out the door. It's possible that, with great instruction I might have led her to correct her errors. Instead it was just, "Ok, any product? Thanks for coming in". Blew a couple hours wasting my time on this place. Now, I get to spend some more time going somewhere else to fix their work. Truly bottom of the barrel. read more

Simple service, simple price. I figure I have a simple haircut, but apparently I'm pretty difficult to please. Here, I got a guy who was willing to work with me and a cut that worked. The place was clean, had a very short wait, is located in neighborhood I love. Give them a try; you'll probably be back. read more

I went to Great Clips this afternoon not expecting much and not sure what to do about my hair. My stylist was Zach. Not only was he super-friendly, he asked all the right questions about what I wanted. He made recommendations as well. He really has an eye for what style would look good on a client. He did a great job! ::) read more

I went in for the $7.99 special cut. I've been there before & know they spray your hair down then basically cut the edges. NOT THIS TIME! A great cut. He quickly followed the line of my last cut (I've changed my part) which included long layers. He even POINT CUT the bangs. THEN went back and made sure all layers blended. FABULOUS @ Triple the price! And FAST...now I have time for other things. .. read more

Jeanette is an awesome stylist!! She has over 30 years experience and it shows! She's cut my hair for a long time, and I've followed her here from another salon. She's worked in high end salons and even in Hawaii. She said she chose great clips because she enjoys the cutting and styling process best of all and that's pretty much all they do here. Regardless of the chain storefront appearance, she's not your average fast, cheap hairstylist. She can work absolute magic with hair!! Wonderful person, attitude and results. I have never been disappointed and she's done my hair for years. The salon itself is clean, professional and affordable. As a side note, this location offers online check in. I highly recommend using it. That way you have a scheduled time slot, so if you show up and there's a ton of walk in people you won't have to wait behind them. Also....there are a couple bad reviews I've read where people have been "rushed" when they showed up at closing time. This salon is open later than most places....the stylists have lives and families too. To show up at closing time and then write a bad review is just rude. If the salon closes at nine, show up a half hour before, it's just common sense people! read more

This is a great place for a quick and cheap hair trim. Not sure if I would go here for dye services, but for cuts it is great. They can get you in quickly and do a great job. The price is quite reasonable. read more

Worst haircut I ever had did not even ask how I wanted it and proceeded to buzz cut my hair.

I did not get the worst haircut ever, but I was expecting a little better from this place. The woman who cut my hair was way too quick, and she really just seemed to hack at it all around in a circle. No details at all. When I got home my husband found a few scraggly bits in the back that he needed to fix. I should have just let him cut my hair, there was no point in spending $15 for this cut. The service was quick and friendly, but I will never go back and I will not recommend that anyone else go here. I went to the Supercuts in Ballard last year and got a much better cut for the same price. Next time I'll either spend a little more money or just let my husband have at my hair with the scissors. read more

I see Hau, never fails to give me a good haircut. She doesn't race through in 10 mins she takes her time to do a good job.

Mediocre to slightly above average haircuts (depending on which "stylist" you get) would get this place maybe three stars, but horrible customer service drops this place to one. Came in about 10 minutes before closing time but was turned away because there were a couple of people already waiting -- meaning that they probably would've have had to stay an extra 10-20 minutes past close to get to me and wrap up. Now, I'm sure that it was a long day for the guy (maybe Mario was his name?) and he just wanted to be able to leave as soon as possible, but it's a piss poor way to treat a customer. Besides, I'm pretty sure corporate policy states that you should service customers based on arrival time -- not how much later you think you might clock out. The fact that the young store manager was right there when it happened and seemed to implicitly approve made it even more irritating. Since that experience, I've gone out of my way -- I live like a 5 minute walk away from the Greenwood place -- to go to the U-district Great Clips for haircuts and have never looked back. read more

I just left GC and I have to say I had a great stylist. She listened to what I wanted and made a couple of suggestions and gave me a very good haircut. I think the best I have ever had. I was also impressed that the owner greeted me and introduced herself. I will be back next month for sure. read more

I went in for a haircut and I have been there before so I asked for the same cut and the lady barley spoke English then gave me the worst haircut I've ever got it was terrible she left long hairs that is very noticeable and then asked me if I was jewish which I have no idea why she would even ask me that. I have a wedding tomorrow and will be going to another place to fix my hair never again will I go back here read more

Terrible hair cut. It's so uneven. One side is shaved. One side is longgg and hardly faded... Ugh but it's cheap. You get what you pay for.

Guy with the mullet has no skills and poor attitude/ customer service. He should definitely be fired. I rarely complain about anything, but today's experience was really bad. It wasnt even about the bad hair cut. Its his attitude. read more

WALK IN'S NOT WELCOME! Been going here for almost two years. I have had mediocre service before but today made it so that i will never come back. I don't expect greatness for a 16 dollar hair cut but I shouldn't ever leave a place wanting to scream at everyone in the place and on my way to the car lol. Bad enough i had to wait 50 mins cause i didn't bother to check your website for online check in. Had to watch people walk in 20 30 mins after me walk right in. Then they were short staffed maybe do to the fact there isn't any of the regular people i'm used to seeing working there. One of the lady was complaining that someone was 5 mins late and blah blah blah then she says screw it and goes out to smoke her cancer stick and walks up the road leaving the one poor lady who was trying her best all alone. Needless to say being behind now three people with one person left to cut hair i wasn't going to make it a two hour affair. You should be ashamed. read more

Horrible experience. Stylist was sure he knew more than my dermatologist. Would not do what I asked. Had to go home and redo it the next morning. read more

I've had my hair cut there probably about 20 times. Why do I keep coming back? because they're the only affordable walk-in place in the area. I HAVE received good haircuts here, but that is from only about 2 individuals (The tall young man with blonde hair and the middle aged Filipino man). The prices have gone up and up and they always have a hard time giving me my military discount. My primary complaint is the middle aged German lady that works there. She is a nightmare. I've had 2 horrible (had to shave my head) haircuts from her. She is highly combative, rude, and unwilling to listen to your requests. She argues with customers (not just myself) about what they are requesting and is all around difficult. I witnessed one gentleman request that someone else FINISH his hair cut while he sat with his head half shaved. She is the reason I don't go there anymore. Today I saw that she was the only one working so I left. To the managers of this location. If you want to increase business and decrease negative reviews, get rid of this lady. I promise I will come back if she is gone. read more

I'm a guy with simple hair cutting needs, so not very demanding (usually a military-style cut). I like that I can sign-in online prior to going and then I don't have to wait very long when I get there. I don't request any specific stylist, so the quality sometimes varies, but my hair grows quickly so I don't mind if it's a little too short. I know some people request a specific stylist. The turnover in the 4 years I've been going here seems high, but is probably normal for this type of business. I can't imagine that they get paid too well, so I tip well. read more

I don't normally post on yelp, but I come to this great clips often and have consistently had good hair cuts. I saw the couple comments recently and although they may not have had the best experience I wanted to make sure that others know that no matter who has cut my hair I had a good hair cut. read more

I am mortified by the haircut I got here last night. I asked for "one inch off the bottom" of my fairly long hair. The "stylist" seemed to be paying more attention to my husband getting his hair cut in the chair next to us and quickly one inch became at least four! In a minute my hair went from bra-strap-grazing length to doesn't-even-graze-my-shoulders lenght. To make matters worse, she put layers into my hair! I hate layers and I would never, never ask for layers. Yet before I knew what was happening she was halfway through layering my hair. My hair is rather thin, fine, and grows very slowly. It will take a year before my hair is all the same length again. I am so frustrated and disappointed that the stylist thought it was her prerogative to decide how my hair should be styled. It is simply not worth the low price or convenience to walk out and be so unhappy with the end result. If you must go here, be firm and pay VERY close attention to every move your stylist makes!! read more

my 4 year old went in for a simple bang trim. the stylist was gruff with her. she didn't even wet her bangs down and her bangs were choppy. it looks like a home job and many people asked if I had done it. most salons offer complimentary bangs trims or $5 trims. the website listed them for $5 and I was charged $7! what a rip off! never going back! no stars. read more

I was really disappointed in my haircut. My first experience at Great Clips was not great at all. The lady that cut my hair seemed not so pleased to work with my long hair and kept sighing while combing my hair. My hair was originally down to my bottom and after I asked for 2 inches off it ended up being 6 inches and my hair is now about above my chest. Not only is it now short but I asked for layers but instead I got different layers of uneven chops in my hair as if a 5th grader took a pair of scissors and started snipping at my hair rapidly. I had also asked for bangs which are now just baby hairs that stick out all over the place and it suuuuper short (up to my eyebrows). She even admit that she had cut some parts shorter because she was trying to get rid of my highlighted colors in my hair, which was really unprofessional to me and was not what I asked for. If you ever go to this Great Clip salon I recommend asking for Mario, he seemed like he knew what he was doing and he was more polite and welcoming. read more

I went in today to get a haircut and received the worst haircut/customer service of all time. I showed up 20 minutes before closing and this older woman with an Eastern European accent rushed through my haircut talking the whole time about wanting to go home. She cut my hair in literally 5 minutes and did a piss poor job at it!! 5 minutes??? Are you kidding me??? I left there covered in hair with a half ass haircut!! I shouldn't have even paid that's how bad it was. She was saying that she needed to go home because she left her window open and it was cold for her dog. What the hell?? It was 70 degrees out today!!! This lady was also talking about her manager in a negative way right in front of me and another customer!! If your the manager of the greenwood great clips and your reading this, you know who I'm talking about and she should be canned! I felt like I was getting a haircut from a blind woman on Meth. I'll never go here again unless it's Halloween and my costume is looking like a moron!!! read more
