The online checking wasn't working as it should. My husband was long overdue for a haircut...we were helped quickly enough. One star deducted for some hairs missed in the scissoring and the back of his head being not squared. They are pretty consistent though and the price is right. The one star is for the atmosphere, not necessarily the cut my daughter received. There was an angry customer who refused to wear a mask and the young lady who was helping her were going back and forth about policies. My issue was they were not the only ones In the salon. We and the rest of the customers (my daughter sitting in a chair getting a cut while this is all going on and the stylist cutting her hair was nervous due to the atmosphere of the other two, which thankfully didn't effect the cut but sure could have), I just didn't appreciate Having to sit there and hear them argue for 30 min. The upset customer should have been taken aside and spoken to. There was no apology, no discount, no nothing. Please discuss with your staff about customer service. I always start a business off with five stars and then we go from there. Everything goes off without a hitch, you get five stars. This one lost stars for a few reasons. First, we used the app to check in online that told us we would have a three minute wait. Our wait ended up being 8 minutes, but when we checked in one of the ladies told the one checking us in that someone else had to go before us, which contributed to us missing our check in wait time. That in and of itself was not a big deal, but was unprofessional to discuss it where the customer could hear it. Secondly, there waiting area is extremely tight. You sit so close to the person next to you, you rub against each other(pet peeve of mine). They had a sale on their haircuts for $8.99 which was great. read more

I've had the same woman cut my hair 3 times now, but never again!! Her name is Sherri (blonde curly hair) supposedly a Master Cosmologists. Today her cut left me with uneven, way too short and inconsistent layering. I even had pics of the way I wanted it cut, she didn't even get close!! I absolutely hate it!!! I can't even go to someone else to try and get it fixed! Never ever again. This took place at the Foley, Al. shop. I would not recommend going there! Despite all the stigmas of "you get what you pay for" Great Clips in Mchenry village is a different story. I've been going there off and on for a few years now, never having a bad experience with any hair stylist. For the past few months I've been going to Chloe, very nice and awesome at her job as well. All the workers greet you when you walk in and you feel welcome right away. $15 is a steal for this kind of service and haircut, highly recommend. read more

Have Time; I'm Reading is what I'm rolling with): I was the Best Man in a wedding in September of 2016 and I needed a haircut. Walked into Great Clips, where I went more often than not, and Alivia was available. And my hair life was changed. She has this great combination of skill, attention to detail, and personality. Every haircut I've gotten since, and I will only see her (so hold on to her Great Clips and take great care of her; I'm following her), hasn't had a weird missed spot or a line that was off. Every hair cut has been exactly what I wanted. Professionalism is what you want in a stylist. On top of that she has a wonderful personality and a great smile, the kind where the eyes light up. It is hard to find hard working folks that have a smile like that as well. I look forward to talking with her because she is engaging. I don't feel like another customer in another salon. It feels effortless; I imagine she does it with anyone that happens across her chair. TLDR- Really rude incompetent staff that don't operate within their own rules They are really rude and incompetent at this location. When I called in this morning to make an appointment I was informed they they "don't do appointments but they walk in appointments". I was also informed that I could use the website to check-in and that it would help out figure what time was ok to go in the store, on the website it wants your name and phone number. Since the employee said that it would help figure out when to head in and they had my phone number I decided to wait until it was my time to go in. After about one hour of waiting I decided to call in and check the status of my appointment I was then informed by an employee that they only hold onto check-ins for a half hour and then they remove them. So after that I inquired if they had any check-ins or people their and she said no, that's when I asked if I check back in and head down there since I live five minutes away by car the employee informed me that they can't hold a spot for me in case possible customers walked in during said five minutes I said that's fine and proceeded to the store. when I got there my appointment wasn't showing up so I made another check-in at the store the lady said it wouldn't take that long as i was the only person in the lobby.after a wait another man entered the store and checked in and after that there was a lady and her two kids that checked in. After about three minutes they called one of the lady's kids back and when I said that I was here first they said "that since they were a check-in that they get to go first" that's when I said you told me that you don't do appointments you do walk ins and that I was here before them and I had made the prior check-in even if they removed me. Thats when the employee said " I'm not going to debate with you" and motioned for the kid to go back, That's when I cancelled my check-in and said that I was leaving and I informed them of their incompetence and departed from the store. If i could give ZERO stars i would . I use the app to check in, the app said I had a five minute wait. I drove to the location and walked in, there was only one girl cutting hair and five people waiting plus me, when I walked in the stylist made direct eye contact with me and said nothing. My name showed first on the computer, about five minutes after I walked in two more ladies walked out to the floor and proceeded to call someone who was already sitting there when I walked in, not one of the three ladies acknowledge that I was sitting there. I sat for almost 30 minutes, all five people I walked into had already left. The stylists called the next person which had come in about 20 minutes after me.
