Had a phenomenal experience with Rachel and another stylist today (I wish I remembered her name!). Great Clips should be proud of of the stellar work their staff does in the face of so much disrespect from passersby and some cheap, trashy customers. I hope they increase their prices so they bring in a more sophisticated, respectful crowd. My kids love going there and the quality of the work is worth infinitely more than they charge. The two ladies who styled my kiddos' hair today were nothing but patient, kind human beings with real talents for hair. Even my wiggly two-year-old and three-year-old who's on the spectrum had a blast! See my FB review on this Great Clips' page for more details of my experience. Yelp! Is limiting my characters :) THANK YOU, GREAT CLIPS STAFF! read more

We have been here several times and always tip well. This last experience was absolutely horrible though. After waiting over 2 hours they let someone else go before us because they had kids, then they did an amazingly uneven cut job but would not let my fiancé look in the mirror because they rushed him out so fast. I stopped him and sent him back inside. The haircut was awful! It looked as if a child had done it. Do not come to this location if you can help it! read more

This was my first time here. I had a coupon and wanted to give them a try because it is very close to my house. I arrived and was promptly greeted and got into a chair for a cut. The stylist was nice, and took time to figure out want kind of cut I wanted. She did a very good job and it looks great. The reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 4 is when the cut was over, she did not blow or brush the hair off of me. I had to do so. read more

I take my son here because they have a friendly staff and are always available. I love that I can check in online to reduce my wait time, which is very important since my son doesn't do well with long wait times. Sarina does an amazing job with my sons haircut every time. She's fast, kind, and has a natural ability to do creative work with hair. read more

I usually go here because it's cheaper then other places, but even so it's already gone up $2 sense this summer. For a 10 min trim! And I usually can't get the same person and I always have to fix what I can when I get home. If they blowed out and or straighten the hair after the cut they'd be a Le to tell if it was cut correctly and needed adjustments. But I can't tell until I get home washed it and straightened it if there was anything wrong and I don't always have time to go back and have it fixed especially if there's a waiting line. For the price they're asking they should include a blow dry and or straighten to make sure that their work is done correctly. read more

Pretty fast service, depending on the time of day you come. Usually my fiance leaves with a well done haircut!

We have been using Great Clips for a few months now and are very happy with the way they do things. My son loves going and getting his hair cut with his Daddy and they always do a great job! I also like he convenience of checking in on line because sometimes it's hard to wait with little kids! read more

My son got a nice hair cut today from Marielena. Also, convient to use the app to check in so we dont have to wait long at the shop.

New to Chico but have used Great Clips in many locations with great results. Had Ricky cut my hair today and he did a wonderful cut and paid careful attention to my expressed wishes. As well, he is fun to talk with and genuinely a nice person. Will be back for my next cut with Ricky. read more

Very friendly and caring staff, they were so patient and accommodating with my toddler during a trim I had done (for myself). They really listen to what you would like done to your hair and the prices are so affordable. I have a random schedule and I have a hard time making appointments far in advance so Great Clips easy check in App for your phone is wonderful, and the fact that they take walk-ins and I can bring my kid there and know they have toys for him to play with and lolly pops. read more

Rach did an excellent job and my child and myself hair. Quick and efficient. We will be back ! read more

Great Clips - Clean office and friendly staff - Hair Salons Near Me - Chico, California

Every Great Clips store I've been to has always been a bad experience. But this one here on Mangrove takes the cake. Don't know who cut my hair because she didn't introduce herself at all lol. Anyways I wanted micro bangs and she did what she did and at the time I hated it, about a few months ago, even now going on a few months later I still hate it. The cut has grown out but my hair is so uneven I had to cut it a few times after that. I say this from the bottom of my heart, anyone working at a great clips is low tier and not worth your money. Like at all. Also I feel like the hair stylists here does bare minimum so if you want mediocre, this place is your paradise. read more

I liked the haircut I received from Kayla. Senior discount too.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted and right after I told them what I wanted they were already ready for me and I just wanted a haircut and Alyssa was super quick and friendly I was in there for less than 10 minutes and it was really affordable. Definitely coming back to this place read more

Fast service, courteous staff, ability to check in online, and very affordable. Can't ask for much more!

I have used great Clips 3 times and have been very happy with My cut each time. I also appreciate the senior discount. read more

Kayla did an excellent job at styling my hair. I haven't been this pleased with a haircut for a very long time. I appreciated their Senior discount and will definitely come back. read more

I had probably the poorest experience I have ever had at a hair salon today, I brought my friend in to get her hair washed and blow dried her hair is very long and sometimes it's very hard to do it herself we were told on the phone that she would be able to have it blow dried and shampooed not only did they "blow dry her hair" they had the audacity to allow people to have a dance off for two dollar off coupons and then tell her they didn't have enough TIME to finish her hair. The manager is rude, lazy and uneducated, Half the time she spent brushing out my friends hair she was talking and not even paying attention, I'm sure that's what most people do when they don't have very much time. Not to mention she didn't brush her hair when she blow dryed it or when it was done. she tried to argue about the dancing versus expressing that she did not in fact fulfill her duty. Pretty sad for a manager but I guess you can only do what you're worth. Oh and it took almost over an hour to do nothing interesting how that works. My poor friend's hair looks worse than when she showed up. read more

Okay, coupon or not, I am never coming back here again. The service was terrible. I checked in online and arrived, and was promptly served. The lady who cut my hair asked how my Friday was doing (its Saturday) and asked me what I wanted. I have a pretty basic haircut - crew style cut, but leave a bit more hair on top to turn into a "frohawk"...I have coarse hair. Rule of thumb is, if you don't know what your client wants, do whatever it takes to make them look GOOD. This lady grabbed her clippers and went over my hair - UNEVENLY so, without any particular pattern, etc. Then she grabbed scissors and started clipping my hair. I don't understand what she is doing. She asks what I am doing today, I say clean my house, she goes, "Oh some spring cleaning!" Uhm, Its October...its fall. This tells me she's just doing small talk to be "fake" and doesn't really wanna be there. ANywho, I end up, instead of having a hair STYLE, I walk out with a flat top haircut. It looks like I cut my hair at home over the sink. Luckily it only takes two weeks for my hair to grow back, but seriously, the other place in the same shopping center has stylists that will ask what you want and use their CREATIVITY to make you look better than you had imagined. At this place, they will do whatever you tell them to do, but make it look ten times worse. I am sooo disappointed, and I'm NEVER disappointed when I go elsewhere. This was my fourth, and last time, stepping foot into this place. read more

Simple quick haircut. Cheaper price than any place. I love that you can just walk in.

I have several cosmetologist friends, but they are all about an hour away. Running errands in the area and needed a trim. I got someone pretty fresh out of beauty college (which I didn't realize until she started cutting my hair). I've worked in salons like this one, and wasn't too worried, as I explained to her the one bad haircut I have ever had, and thought that she understood what I didn't want to happen to me again. I wanted a slight taper around my face, for shape. She pretty much gave me an old school "bi-level." I politely asked the person who "checks" her cuts to even it up. My hair grows fast, and I realize she was new, so I didn't throw a fit, and tipped her well. Though I, of course, will never go here again. read more

Quick and easy place for a haircut or trim. I don't care for the check-in system though. If you are in the area and just drop in, you may be behind several people that call in or check in online! Not all hair stylists are great here, but I have had a wonderful experience and I just go on days she works. You can ask for a specific person! read more

Everyone at the salon is very helpful and amazing! I like that I can check in online before arriving to the salon. The people there are kind and make sure the customer is always satisfied with the results read more

Absolutely love this place and all the stylists. They are amazing. My 4 year old daughter cut her own hair one night. I was so upset. I took her here and they cut her hair into a cute style and was so reassuring and positive. She looks so cute with her new style. Thank you, Great Clips! read more

You load up the app, make your appointment, and check in when you get there. They keep records in their computer, so you just tell them to remove several weeks of growth and there you go. Never a bad cut! read more

Fast, friendly staff. Solid haircuts. Clean salon and convenient location. Definitely recommend for family haicuts.

As someone who went to typical women's salons to get her haircut, I was used to paying $20-25 for a haircut. However, all I needed was a simple cut, but I'm also on a budget. I went in to Great Clips and got exactly what I wanted for a fair price. They were knowledgeable and efficient and my hair looks great! I will be going here before spending crazy amounts of money at another salon! read more

Got a great haircut. Nice people and prompt service. Recommend.

This place used to be great, but not anymore. In early 2017, they came under new management and the old stylists are now gone. What they do offer is warmed-over Supercuts wannabes that can only cut one way and that isn't what I want. If you like Supercuts, you might like this place. Otherwise, if you like your hair done the way you want by knowledgeable stylists, keep looking. read more

Employees are friendly. Sometimes there can be a 30 plus minute wait but that can be expected at most places.

I explained how I wanted my hair cut and asked she not cut it too short as it will stand up. She proceeds to take a huge chunk of my hair off so short I can not even comb it the way I normally do. My hair is uneven and not done the way I requested. My recommendation is to stay far away from this store. I had a great experiences in the Auburn, CA shop. So not all are bad but this one in Chico did a terrible job. read more

Great place to get your hair cut! Shawn is the man! Pleasant personality to deal with especially 1sth thing Saturday morning.

To start off, the staff seemed overly happy,to eager to please. I told the young lady what i wanted, instead she grabbed a book and told me this is what was better. I had not had my hair cut in over a year and I knew what i wanted, short choppie layers on the top and sides, tappered at the neck . what i got was a hair cut that looks as if a bowl was placed on my head, she blow dryed my hair back at the sides and neck and swiffly took of the cape be fore i was able to place my glasses back on,the worst part was that she never shopped talking. never again stephanie v read more

I went looking for a trim for me and my son wanted a hair cut. I was not happy about the wait time... but I should have checked in before going. The girl that cut my hair was not only distracted when she cut my hair but she was also distracted when she cut my sons hair. When we were done and went home I had huge chunks of hair that she missed cutting and my son did too I would have done a better job if I had cut my own hair along with my sons hair. read more

This is the best haircut I've ever had. It could be from having my hair cut by another guy for the first time. His name is Dylan and not only was he quick but he was incredibly detailed and focused on the problem spots I always get with a short styled haircut. Hes awesome and I recommend any guys who come in here to get their haircut done by him. read more

An objective, and honest review of Great Clips in Chico, CA you ask? Well, in full candor I hope to receive a 5 "doll hair" discount for leaving this review. In short - just a haircut. Elaborative - Well, here it is...I have been coming to this location for years. The absolute #1 reason I come here is the price. With the coupon from the "Yellow Book" a men's haircut without a wash is about $10.99. You may think I'm a cheapskate, but heck I got bills to pay, and I do leave a nice tip so in the end I'm probably not really saving much. To digress, I am a 44 yr man, and I must tell you that I am not too picky at this point...about anything really. I think it was last year, I went about 5 months without a haircut. lol. But, back to the point; my experiences here have been very impersonal. I cannot tell you what the name of the person that cut my hair, I do not make appointments with a certain stylist, etc. The faces seem to change everytime I return so it seems like they might have some internal issues with personnel, etc. That may seem like a "negative" to you, but to me - this is fine. I'm from LA by way of the SF Bay and I am not looking to make new acquaintances while getting a haircut in Chico, CA. Main objective is to get my hair back to being low-maintenance, sporty, and comfortable. That said, they do seem to screw up my hair regularly - I have to be honest. The "fade" seems uneven at times but my hair grows out and in about a week it looks fine. There were a couple of time when I thought of going back and complaining but, I think it could be "attributable" to the fact that I do not pay for the wash first which would probably make it easier for them especially if I had been wearing a cap or beanie prior to the session. See, told you - not picky here. Cheers. read more

I go to Great Clips often, usually for a trim, and I'm pretty happy. However on my last visit I told the stylist upon checking in that would like change up the style a bit and get a blow dry, and of course pay for the extra service. She said well, if we have to use a round brush or any styling equipment it would require an appointment with the manager of the salon. Really? I'm confused...Isn't everyone that works there a licensed cosmetologists/stylist. Their price indicates they do styling and blow drys.Oh I get it.....they just want to get you in and out thereby increasing their volume. The gentlemen who worked on my hair did try and give me what I wanted, but not really. So I left unsatisfied and won't be going back. read more

Great cut by a great person. Very friendly and came in without an appointment and got a cut within minutes of me walking through the door. Thanks Veronica ;) read more
