My sister and I needed hair color jobs, so we booked appointments with a stylist named Alyssa. Alyssa no longer works there because she moved out of the country to be with her German boyfriend. Well, after she did our hair, she over-charged used us way too much her services because the total came out to be more than I expected. However, I didn't worry about paying for it because I had my old man friend who was waiting the entire time pay for it! Haha :) I guess you could say those alcoholic drinks Alyssa offered us came in handy because it got him drunk enough to do whatever she wanted. lol! Super high ceilings, big front windows for natural light, comfortable stylist chairs, great downtown location and the most gorgeous plants throughout the space. I made an appointment online with Natalie after hearing that this salon was open and had upcoming appointments for a haircut. Natalie was SO pleasant, sweet, and very comfortable to spend time with while she was doing my hair. She listened to what I was looking for and was considerate of the water temperature, if I wanted my hair curled afterwards, etc. I already have another appointment booked with her! I recently went to this salon for a cut and style. My hair cut and style was okay, not worth what it cost but was happy to get my hair semi-healthy. I noticed a couple days later that my layers were, to me, uneven. I had a special occasion hair style appointment yesterday at another salon and I mentioned that I think my layers aren't even and as she looked she said that half of my hair wasn't even cut at all. She showed me layers that were suppose to be on the other side and they weren't there at all. During my cut at Two22 I was turned a ah from the mirror completely (which I felt was odd but whatever) so I didn't notice half my head was missed. I am new in town and was super nervous about getting a new stylist. I went to Emmalie, she was able to get me in right away, I told her that I wanted to go from blonde to brunette with highlights. Made an appointment to get my hair done for graduation months in advance. Three hours before the appointment the hair stylist texted me saying she had a scheduling conflict and canceled my appointment without trying to find someone else to do it or another time that would work. Literally left me hanging. I contacted her multiple times for alternate arrangements and she never got back to me. SO unprofessional. Also from what I have seen and experienced they don't know how to properly blowout curly hair here. Will never be coming here again. read more

I went in to this salon for the first time and asked for a long bob to my shoulders, and even checked in my stylist multiple times of what I wanted. Without checking length and checking as she went, Veronica Evens cut my hair to my ears. Now i am left with a lot less of my gorgeously thick hair! I look like Lord Farqua and have to deal with the embarrassment as it grows out. She may be a nice person, but make sure you know what your client is asking before you make an irreversible cut. I'm updating my review because since my first experience with Two22 Salon last year, I have had the pleasure of visiting their salon regularly and working with two of their fabulous stylist. Both Brittney and Haylee are AWESOME and I have zero complaints with either one. Brittney is usually my go-to stylist since she did my first cut + color at Two22. She's so consistent and reasonably priced, I choose to drive to Chico every eight weeks or so to get my hair done by her...and I live in SF now. Not only is it an excuse to visit my fav little town, but I also know I'm always in good hands with her. On a recent visit to Chico, I found myself needing my hair done after almost 12 weeks without a cut, but Brittney was not taking appointments for the weekend. My hair desperately needed some TLC, so decided to try another stylist to get the job done. Haylee was such a pleasant person to talk to and hang out with while she tamed my hair, she even went over her alotted time just because she wanted to finish curling...and I have A LOT of hair. I don't have a very complicated 'do,' but she made the most of the appointment and I appreciated that tremendously. The salon has a very warm, friendly atmosphere and is located conveniently in downtown. Beautifully decorated, small town vibe with a touch of modern. All in all, I will gladly drive from the Bay Area any day to visit this salon for my hair needs. 150% recommend. read more

I just went in earlier this week to have my stylist do an ombré from dark to light on my hair. She was able to help correct the terrible box dye my hair left me with on my roots from that brassy color to a more well rounded natural base that is cohesive with the light blonde. Coming from the Bay Area I was skeptical at finding a new salon. Danny did any amazing job and I can't wait to come back! I came to stephanie asking her to add blonde to my roots to blend to my existing blonde and then add a little brown with lowlights. I sat with her for 4 hours and she charged me $170 dollars for doing nothing but slightly darkening it. When I asked her to fix it she said she would but wouldn't put any blonde in it. Really disappointed that I have to give this review. I used to go to this salon when Mel was there, had great experiences and assumed the rest of the employees were as professional as her. It'd been a while since I had gone since I moved but I needed to get my hair done for a wedding in Chico so I called hoping that anyone had the time to fit me in. She is so easy to talk to, and has a unique vision for each person she works with. I showed her a few photos of what I wanted for my wedding day (A french braid with pinned back curls) and she effortlessly put it together. My hair was great, but my Maid of Honor's was on another level. She did french braids that turned into a fishtail braid, and I swear to you, my Maid of Honor looked like Khaleesi from Game of Thrones (look it up!). The haircut was amazing. Jenn did so well. She made me feel really welcome. I was nervous because I hadn't been to a hair salon in several years and that was in a completely different country so I didn't know what to expect. I also loved the general energy of the place. Like comfy but still professional if that makes sense. (Also like that everyone wore masks!) I had been wanting to try something different with my hair so I decided to get it cut short. I guess it is called a wolf cut? Anyway, Jenn cut my hair really well. I wear glasses and I had to take them off so she could cut my hair. I thought I would have to put them back on and take them off again repeatedly to see what she was doing but I didn't have to at all. Jenn would describe exactly what she was doing and what my hair looked like in the moment so I could picture what she was doing. (I have very bad eyesight so i couldn't see anything in the mirror lol). She also did really well with styling it. I was nervous about the curling iron because I've always just been scared of getting burned but she was really careful. In the end, I loved how my hair came out. I didn't expect it to look so good but I really do love it. (I think it gave me a little confidence boost haha). I would definitely come again. The only difficulty was making the appointment. I had called a couple times but no one picked up. I went in person later to make an appointment and it was super easy. She just asked for my name and phone number and told me the next available time. The text she sent the day before my appointment was also super helpful because I tend to be forgetful. All in all, it was amazing! Sorry for leaving a sad review but it's been over 6months, anyway. I've only been in twice, and I had the same hairstylist, which I knew I should have asked for a different person. She made it seem like she knew what she was doing. Bad idea! I just wasn't as satisfied with my hair as I should have been. Honestly the job could have been handled way better if it weren't for relying on girls with 3-5years experience -that's not much of you think about it. I really liked the haircut I got from stylist Sunshine, I've been known as a difficult client in the sense that my hair is very thin, but there is lots of it, and it has a tendency to curl & wave as the stylist works although I generally style it straight. I've had tons of people act like my hair is very difficult to manage and end up giving me bad cuts, but with sunshine I never got the notion that she was overwhelmed, and the cut is beautiful. I also appreciated that she helped me make a decision. I came in with a couple options, and talked to her about a variety of things- my hair's behavior, my behavior (6 months between cuts, oops, being incredibly lazy with styling) and she helped me figure out which cut was most likely to keep me happy longer than a week- which would hold the style as it grew out and be low maintenance. I've got a lot of compliments regarding the cut and she's right, it's been pretty easy upkeep. I also have a tendency to be a little uncomfortable in these environments, and I wasn't here. There was a good balance between letting me chill and chatting, whereas at some salons I end up feeling overwhelmed by the amount of conversation involved in the process. This is a totally tolerable salon for an introvert! I get the feeling that sunshine just reads her customers well rather than focuses on her own habits, and her handing me a glass of wine didn't hurt either. :) read more

Warning: This review will be long, but I just want to share my experience I had with Carmen. I was looking for a hairstylist to do my hair and my three bridesmaids for my wedding. I originally had someone back where I was from (bay area) to do our hair, but wasn't too happy with the trial I had. Since I lived 3 hours away from the bay (I live in Clovis, CA) I wasn't able to just hop in my car and do another trial. As a bride who was coming up on two weeks (YES, TWO WEEKS!!) from her wedding date I chose to not go with my original stylist. I was calling and looking for the next best person who could squeeze me in last minute. Carmen was recommended by my coordinator and so I decided to give her a ring. I sent her pictures of ideas I wanted and she assured me I will look fabulous. I haven't even done a trial with Carmen, I relied on pictures she sent me and had faith in her because I loved what she's done with other girls.She knew I was really stressed out that I couldn't have a trial and two days PRIOR to my wedding day, she drove 3.5 hours to give me a trial to put me at ease... Seriously. I know not many stylists would go out of their way and drive for so long (in traffic) to just ease a bride. That just gives you an idea of who Carmen is. The day of our wedding, she was on time, had all her equipment properly set up and welcomed me and my girls with a warm smile. She put my hair in rollers and let my hair set while she worked on my girls. Every single one of my girls absolutely loved their hair and thanked her so much. She even helped my mom with her hair (my mom was running late) and put my mom at ease. Now, with my hair I wanted something simple yet elegant and boy did she deliver and surpass my expectations! I made an appointment 5 weeks ahead of time. I drove from Sacramento to Chico and was advised my stylist was running late. Ok, fine. I waited and waited. My stylist finally comes up to me and advises she took a last minute appointment and would not be able to fit me in. I was stunned! I told her I had my appointment for 5 weeks and I had just drove 2 hours. She finally squeezed me in for a root touch up and cut. My last experience with Stephanie just left a bad taste in my mouth. She is very friendly but I'm not thrilled with my hair (a bit too red for what I asked for) and the price was outrageous. $225 for highlights and color touch up. Insane for Chico. I had scheduled my appointment with Taryn who flakes on me twice and we had a set price thru style seat of $145 which is the proper pricing for the services I received. Tried this salon out but was so unhappy with the results, first time I went in a stylist has made it so blonde when I wanted a light brown and was charging me to keep toning it when it wasn't even close to the color I wanted. But then went in again and gave a few other girls a shot at my hair and realized that was a bad idea since the last girl Natalie that has done my hair did such an amazing job and I booked with her again and just to realize she is out of town... so I went with another stylist named Bre, who Natalie recommended and so I asked if she can get notes from Natalie and I guess Natalie didn't even put down notes from me which made me very upset since I loved what she did. So after my apt with Bre, my hair has never been so poorly done and unblended as a "balayage" she definitely rushed and did not make me feel cared for. Scary thing was I didn't realize how bad my hair was until I had someone take photos/ record the back of my hair! Came in for Bre to get it fixed for a free service since I guess a situation with her and Natalie about my hair wasn't working for Natalie to fix it, but probly because she doesn't want to deal with mess. Came back in and yea it might be a tad bit better than before as in just making the color higher to my roots and then to realize that there's actually a totally noticeable line across my head now.. so maybe I wasn't processing the color or not in the heat for long enough. But girls just be careful about who you go to for your hair because I've tried multiple girls and they really just are unprofessional. Other girls have even told me they messed up on their hair badly. Gave this salon multiple tries with different stylists but will not be stepping foot in again. read more
