Want to feel like a million bucks and enjoy a salon with a cool vibe and even cooler stylists? Check out Da Capo salon. Quilla Sorensen does a fantastic job for me and I love her positive attitude and hilarious sense of humor. The salon is welcoming with tons of greenery. Makes for a relaxing, but somehow invigorating atmosphere. Quilla's chair partner, Britney, does a great job for her clients too; I see them walking out looking with a shiny and well-styled hairdo! I was lucky enough to nab Quilla via a referral from a stylist who left a couple of years back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for anyone looking for a stylist; I am just happy she is at Da Capo as the owner, Danielle, has great taste and did a fab job with her salon! Da Capo - Hair Salons Near Me - Chico, California

I had booked my appointment a month in advance as most people do. And here is the communication I received after being with this salon for years: (I just feel other people should be aware as these are expensive appointments) Da Capo: Hey Tisha, Da Capo front desk. Alli had a cancellation for tomorrow and is wondering if you wanted to come in a earlier for your appointment? She is thinking tomorrow at 315? Me: Hi there! I'm sorry I would have loved to but I can't I have work appointments scheduled tomorrow. I'll have to keep my appointment for 8/28 if that's ok. Da Capo: No worries, just thought she would offer. Me: I appreciate that thank you guys! (Next Day) Da Capo: Hey Tisha, Da Capo front desk. I am reaching out aboutthe appointment on the 28th. There was a mix up with Alli's books, unfortunately she is not going to be in the salon on the 28th. However, we do have a stylist available that same day but the appointment would be with Megan at 9 am. By chance would you be okay with seeing Megan ? We are so sorryabout the mix up. Me: Hi there! I'm not sure how comfortable I feel with a new stylist, I haven't been successful in the past.. that's why I travel for my hair appointments. It is a little strange that you reached out yesterday to re-schedule my appointment for today.. and I mentioned my appointment on the 28th but now she's unavailable.. Da Capo: She was not available to start with unfortunately, We completely understand. I am happy to see if Alli has other days available. *Remind you people schedule these appointments months in advance and take time off from work. Thank you read more

I booked my appointment online 3 weeks in advance. Sent photos of current hair and inspiration for my appointment. Less than a week before my appointment the salon texts me and asks me to reschedule. They require payment information in case you don't show up for your appointment but then they are the ones who can't show up. Pretty unprofessional. I'm taking this as a sign not to get my hair done here. Going somewhere that will make me feel valued and won't waste my time. read more

Maddy is absolutely fantastic. Understands my gibberish and turns it in to fabulous hair every time and talks me out of chaos when I ask for ridiculous things. Easy to talk to, and exceptionally good at what she does. 10/10 and great with blonde hair read more

Nice people work here; however the girl that did my hair didn't truly do a good job with my haircut. She cared more about socializing with her fellow employees than she did doing my hair. read more

The worst salon I've ever been too. The stylist did lowlights and highlights that I asked for when I called to make an appointment. When I sat down in her chair she never asked me what I wanted as far as color done. She damaged my hair, and the lowlights are an orange color. Whatever she used On my hair will not tone to look at least half way right. And she damaged my hair. She shouldn't be doing hair at all. If I owned the salon, I would get rid of this person who calls herself a stylist. You've got to be joking. read more

Great place to get your hair cut! I love how Shanon cuts my hair: working with me each time to figure out the best way to go shorter, grow it out a bit--whatever I ask her to do with my particular kind of hair! Plus I look forward to seeing her every time. Really sweet, helpful, skilled, and charming! read more

I'm super pleased with my experience at Da Capo. Was there an initial rough patch? Yes. My first stylist did not know what she was doing with my hair. There was no consultation - just a quick look at a reference photo. I came home with (unwanted and) uneven layers, uneven bangs, and basically a bad cut that had me feeling low for 48 hours. Thankfully, I reached out to the salon owner Danielle who really cared about my experience and wanted to make things right. I went back for an adjustment cut with Shanon, who was 180 degrees from the first stylist. Shanon is an amazing and super skillful hairstylist!! She did a thorough consultation, asked me many questions, and evaluated my hair texture and previous bad cut. She had really good judgment and technique, and checked in about length multiple times. You can tell when a stylist is good, cares about how you feel, and is interested in making you look the very best you can. I LOVE my hair now. And I'm so thrilled to find a great stylist in town. All's well that ends well. And I have lots of respect and gratitude to Danielle for running a business with integrity and care. read more

I went there for the first time last week and Ally V did my hair. She did a great job. I'm extremely picky but she was right on. The salon is beautiful and very clean. Everyone is very nice. Ally is so attentive and polite. I will go to her for now on. I give her a 10 out of 10. Great job and great person. Thank you. read more

I have been going to Megan at De Capo since they opened and can't recommend the salon enough. I sit down, am offered a glass of wine and get to engage in conversation over the next hour and a half- not radio silence while someone cuts my hair. She always asks if I want to do anything different and about how she did last time (even though I do the same thing every time and she always kills it). She is always on time, hardly reschedules, and has even squeezed a few of my friends into her schedule who I have referred. The salon is so cute with the owner constantly doing improvements to it or adding new merchandise to purchase. Definitely recommend! read more

Mixed review. I'm glad the salon agreed to fix my hair at no charge after one of their stylists completely butchered it. I wish the original stylist knew how to cut short hair (she didn't) and when it was obviously going very very badly, she should have stopped. She should have gotten assistance from another stylist before creating any more damage. I give this stylist 1 star at most. THANKFULLY this salon has a very experienced stylist (Zane) who knows exactly how to cut short hair. He had to fix my hair by cutting it very very short (there was no other option considering how badly it had been chopped off) but thankfully Zane was able to very carefully blend and layer the cut and make it into something I could live with. Thanks to Zane, I am no longer mortified and can feel comfortable going out in public. I give Zane 5 stars. read more

I booked an appointment online for a haircut as a new client. I had been rescheduled twice. The hair cut itself was fine. I spoke to my stylist about wanting to go blonde. She booked me a balayage instead of the service i needed. That same day I booked, i got a call to reschedule again. I rescheduled it but let the person know that it was to go blonde and she kept it as a balayage appointment. When I show up to my appointment I let my stylist know that I am there because I want to go blonde. She does a balayage anyway. I let her know that I had previously colored my hair. She didn't do a test strand. At no point in the times I rescheduled my appointment or when I was getting the balayage done did they tell me that I needed a full foil or did I have a consultation done before hand. I ended up paying nearly 200$ for a service I didn't even want read more

i paid 262 total and 58 just for the cut. i have fine hair that i always keep up and off my neck and hopefully out of my face as much as possible. a previous cut had been a bad experience so ithad been a long time since i had gotten my hair cut. i went in hoping to have my hair shorter but still away from my face enough to not be annoying. instead the front and front layers are too short and it is worse and back in my face. unfortunately i can't do anything but wait for it to grow back read more

My Stylist is AMAZING!! Christy Linzy really goes the extra mile to make sure she understands your needs and accomplishes the goal!! She is friendly, professional, I always leave Da Capo feeling like a million bucks! Christy has suggested products for my unruly hair, explains in detail, how and when to use. It always makes me feel great when people say "Who does your hair" and I always say "Christy Linzy at Da Capo in Chico" she's wonderful!! read more

I have been hesitant to try any of the salons in town since I have moved back, but decided to give Da Capo a try. I used the online booking system and chose Jackie. I explained in the notes my hopes for a cut and style and upon arrival shared pictures of previous layered cut and other options I was hoping may work for me, especially as I have zero home hair style/talent. I was ready to cut a lot of length off and Jackie delivered a cute edgy cut. It feels healthy and looks great! I booked a second apt for cut/color without hesitation and look forward to the next appointment! Thank you Jackie! read more

Megan is the absolute best!! She knows how I want my color even when I don't know, and has kept my hair healthy and beautiful through two pregnancies. The salon is clean and everyone is always super friendly! read more

This joint is an oasis in the path of life. Super clean and expertly designed, Da Capo has expert stylists and beauticians with a welcoming and comfortable vibe. It's a new spot out in the new Mariam Park and if other business follow the passion and ideals that Da Capo has led with, the whole park will be quite a place. I've followed Quilla for my cuts/style for years and have never been disappointed. Award winning stylist and super easy online booking makes this a great choice for a salon. Full stars. read more

When you find someone that not only does your hair the exact way you want, but takes an active role in making sure you look your very best, NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Ever since Danielle styled me for my wedding in 2017 I have been traveling from Sacramento for my hair appointments with her because there is no one like her. I cannot explain my excitement when she opened Da Capo. This place is special. There is a reason why it is called a 'Style House' and not a plain old hair salon. The stylists at Da Capo apply their knowledge and expertise to everything they do, making sure you get the exact look you are after. I have been SO happy with my hair every time I've had an appointment. It's also so nice to have someone actually provide their input when you ask for it and not just tell you what they think you want to hear. A few more things I love about Da Capo: all the plants, the bright and airy feel, it's not too girly and has a mix of men and women clients, and the good nature of all the people that work there. Oh and Elvis read more

I 100% recommend Da Capo! I love the all the beautiful plants growing around the shop. It is very modern. Allison is my hairdresser. I love her! She is so sweet and so professional! I am very picky with people touching my hair and I trust her 100%! She makes me feel so pretty by the time I leave. I appreciate the professionalism! read more

Amazing service with Allison, desperately needed a trim on my curly hair, Allison not only trimmed my hair perfectly, but even showed me a new way to style it and preserve my curl. The salon is beautiful, too. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Araceli was the best! I haven't had a regular hairdresser since moving back to Chico 6 years ago. I don't get my hair cut often so I normally try new hair dressers until I find one that can work with my hair better. I have curly hair and rarely get haircut I ask for because the hair dresser doesn't style my hair the way I would normally do it. When I try to style at home, just looks like a mess. I normally have to go back and have them adjust it. Araceli was really great about styling my hair the way I would so when I was home I could get the same results. It was exactly what I needed and I will definitely be going back. read more

Love everything about this salon... from the design of the space to the awesome stylists. I always look forward to getting my hair done here. I've been to a lot of hairstylists in my day and Danielle is by far the best. I love the way she colors, cuts, and styles my hair. And she's the most personable, fun person to hang with. Highly recommend this place! read more

What a wonderful experience! We weren't sure if we'd get in because we didn't have an appointment but we were able to walk in and get started right away! The stylist was very professional, efficient, and kind and she executed the style I asked for perfectly in no time! It was overall a very relaxing experience and it was cheaper than other locations too! Definitely returning! Thank you Da Capo!! read more

I am looking forward to my appointment with Quilla at Da Capo Salon. She has been wonderfully understanding about my concerns regarding COVID-19, especially since my family member is at greater risk of complications. Quilla took the time to listen to my concerns, explain the salons precautions and to give me an option to reschedule when there are less people in the salon. If you are looking for a stylist with a kind and caring heart, consider booking your appointment with Quilla! read more

Super cute salon with great people! Allison helped me and she was wonderful! Showed her a pic of what I wanted and she gave me exactly that! Great conversation and helped me with any questions or concerns I had. Will definitely go here again. read more

I made an appointment with Allison to begin the process of changing from dying my hair dark as I have been for years to my now natural white, along with a cut. This was a big step for me and I walked out absolutely delighted. The salon is clean, professional and Allison's skills are top notch. She loves color and you can tell from her enthusiasm that she is doing a job she is not only good at, but adores. She listened to me, took the time needed, and gave me her full attention. I would recommend her to anyone and am happy to say I have found my new salon home. read more

First time customer at Da Capo.. and definitely will be a repeat customer. I haven't had a haircut in a while but decided to try this place out. My hair dresser was Olivia Zumalt; she was running a little bit behind schedule but definitely worth the wait! I trusted her feedback and went with what she thought would be an ideal haircut for my day to day. The entire time I sat in the chair I could not stop laughing at our conversation-- seemed like I was talking to an old friend! She took her time with working on my hair and showed me how easy it would be to style it. She listened to my hair concerns and turned my hair into #hairgoals; needless to say I left a happy customer! The salon itself is beautiful, clean and trendy. Customer service is extremely important to me and so I thought I'd leave this review regarding my experience. If you're wanting to walk out of a salon smiling and feeling confident.. check out Da Capo! Thanks Olivia!! read more
