i asked for light layers with curtain bangs and the lady who i had did NOT know how to cut hair. she just kept point cutting my hair in random sections until the top of my hair was way too short. when i asked for curtain bangs bangs instead of making the front short and gradually cutting it to make it transition. she made the back short and kept the felt long. I've been meaning to write this for a few months now and finally got to doing it. Over the past few months, I've had my hair cut twice and my sons once right before he started school. Hanna took care of my son the day before school and she did an amazing job. She took her time to make sure that my son felt like a million dollars before his 8th grade year. He looked sharp as hell! I really couldn't say enough great things about how Hanna was with my son getting his haircut! Then a couple months ago, I went in to get my shaggy hair tamed and looking professional again. I had Sunny and I told her what I wanted and a few minutes in, she asked me "Have you tried to comb it the other way?" Honest question and I hadn't really considered it. In all my years of getting a haircut, no one bothered to ask or mention it. I have to say, I was BLOWN AWAY by the difference. One little tweak and I went from looking like a Pointdexter to a dapper gentleman. I've been searching for a hairstyle that I like probably for the past 5 years and nothing has been "PERFECT" until I sat with Sunny. I seriously was almost in tears with happiness with how my haircut turned out. I cannot rave enough about Sunny and her ability to look at someone's head, and determine what looks best for them. Ask for her opinion, you WILL NOT REGRET IT! And so yesterday, I was ready for another haircut and I went in and I had Hanna this time. She asked me if I wanted the same as last time and I said yes please. She offered a suggestion to make the fade a little bit higher and a little bit tighter and OH.EM.GEE. Seriously, Get Hanna and Sunny together to run everything. These girls are absolutely amazing, and the reason why I'll be coming back to great clips for the entirety of my time in Chico (Or as long as they are there!) I've been to a few Great Clips locations and always had great experiences, particularly with the online check-in system, Great Clips' version of making an appointment. However, I tried to check in for an appointment at this location in Chico and did not have the same positive experience. The estimated wait time said 1hr 27 minutes, already considerably longer than I'd normally see at other locations, but I figured this was just a high-volume location and checked in. After 1hr 20 minutes, I hadn't received the normal text message that lets you know when you have 15 minutes until your appointment, so I went back online to check my wait time, and it now listed my wait time as 1hr 22 minutes. I assumed it was a website error, so I called the location and was told no, my wait time was actually around 1hr 22 minutes from THAT point. I was told that the initial 1hr 27 minutes was just an estimate... I can understand an estimate being off by 10 - 15 minutes, maybe 30 minutes. But for the estimate to be off by a full hour and a half is nuts. If you tell someone it's going to be a 1.5hr wait and it ends up being a 3hr wait, that's not a standard margin of error, that's a pretty big failure to provide an accurate initial estimate. What is the point of using a system like this if it doesn't do what it's supposed to? I don't blame anyone in particular at the location, and it's possible this was just a bad day for them, or they were understaffed, but considering I never had this issue at the other locations, I'd recommend finding a different barber shop in Chico. The main selling point of Great Clips is its convenience, and this location just isn't convenient. read more

The wait time here was bearable compared to MasterCuts and SuperCuts. Total time of my wait plus my friend was less than 10 minutes. What's great was that they also have an app in which you could make an appointment online! The barber who cut my hair did a decent job. I usually get my sides buzzed and my top trimmed. This Chico site is atrocious, due in part to their new check-in system. On a Tuesday I logged-in and saw that you can't schedule an appt. for the next day, you just check-in for that day and it tells you how long the wait is and you show up at that time or they still have walk-ins. Also the portal showed that they opened at 9 a.m., thankfully I called and they actually open at 10. The next morning I tried to check-in and they don't open the portal until 10 when the shop opens. Therefore I arrived at 9:45, stood in line and at 10 they let the first couple people in. While waiting, people were pulling up and walking right in. These were people that waited and logged-in at 10 and then just pulled up and walked in front of the people that waited in line. 11:00 I was finally called to a chair with an apology. Numerous people who had not waited but used the check-in were given preferential treatment and were leaving just as I was getting started, after waiting for an hour. All of this accompanied with excuses like, "I thought the portal didn't open until 10 min after we opened for the walk-ins". Evidently not maam. Icing on the cake, $18.00 for a horrific, uneven haircut. Last visit, they used to be a good place to go. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

I got extentions at another salon, where the lady did not blend my natural with the extentions and didn't frame my face. So I make an appointment on line which was quick and easy. The lovely Briana,did what I ask for which was layered in the back and tampered around my face. Once she was finish I felt 10 times for confident. So thank you Great Clips!!!!
