Wow, I'm shocked by the low rating, I had an amazing experience. An employee was moving away, with a bit of a short notice but this place was to the rescue on getting me a delicious and beautifully inscribed cookie cake! I think Crumbl cookies are disgustingly sweet and usually go unfinished in our office , but this did not make it the full day, it was perfect! They were quick, the cookie was perfectly cooked, the writing was clear and cute and they even called to ensure they understood what I wanted written. I wish I remembered the person's name but she even stayed just a few minutes past closing for me to pick up when I got out of work late. 100% would choose this place over the many options. read more

They have a marble slab but they don't use it. They just scoop the ice cream and put the toppings on top instead of using the slab to mix everything. Not worth the price since the concept is being ignored. read more

We were looking for a new ice cream place to try in Bee Cave and discovered Marble Slab. It is located near Lowes across from the Bee Cave Galleria. It doesnt have too big a sign, but you should be able to find it. Well, the store is pretty cool - they make handmade ice cream and cookies - cookies are from the normal size to very large ones, for special occasions. All ice cream is made onsite and they have a wide variety from cotton candy to vanilla. They also have a number of toppings that can be added to your ice cream too. They mix it all up on a very cold "marble slab" and then serve it in a cup or a cone. We tried the coffee with chocolate chips and peanut butter with chocolate chips. Both were very good. The owner is very engaging and made the experience excellent. So if you are looking for ice cream, give this place a try. We give it 5 stars for sure. read more

I was really excited when I moved to town and saw they had one of these right across the street from me. I've been in 9 times now and only was able to order once because every single time I went in they were out of the double doozy. One time they offered to make it for me then and there and that's the only reason I got it that time. I wish they would better keep up with their inventory. Wow! I hate to leave this review about the customer service I received, but I feel it necessary to prevent any others from experiencing this. I have never been talked to by a business owner, like I was at this store. I have been going to Great American Cookies in Bee Cave since they opened. My oldest son has no food restrictions and enjoys a cookie cake instead of a more traditional cake. Cinnaholic in the Arboretum has always done my other child's cookie cakes because he has some food allergies. They were always the sweetest staff and had the yummiest cakes and treats. Unfortunately their store closed a few weeks ago. I'm in various food-allergy Facebook groups and recently saw a mom in another state post about how her local Great American Cookies store had sugar cookie cakes that were safe for her child and the store was really kind about helping her. This got me so excited to possibly place an order for my child's upcoming birthday party. Fast forward to Wednesday 1/22 at 12:30pm. Whenever I have a food inquiry, I always make sure to pop in during times that aren't busy. I was the only customer and I was greeted by a young staffer. I told her that I saw on the corporate website that the sugar cookie cake recipe would be safe for my dairy-free/nut-free kiddo and just wanted to confirm that the ingredients were the same in their store as what the corporate website listed. She immediately changed her tone and said there would be cross contamination and nothing was certain. I explained that my son does intensive therapy for this exact reason and we are fine with cross contamination, I just need to confirm that the actual main ingredients aren't the allergen. She said she couldn't do that, but could call the owner over. The owner, who was nearby immediately came over. I again politely explained the situation and asked if she could just confirm that the ingredients used in their sugar cookie batter didn't contain dairy or nuts. Her tone immediately became reactive and rude. She kept saying that she would not "guarantee" (this was the word she kept repeating) anything. I calmly and politely assured her that I was not looking for a guarantee. I again explained that I was merely trying to find out if the ingredients correlated with those that were listed on the corporate website site. The owner appeared agitated and refused to answer my simple question. Completely taken back by her attitude, at this point I said, "wow, I feel like you are being really rude to me for asking this question." She immediately got defensive, I politely told her that obviously I shouldn't place an order, and I calmly left the store. I left this visit feeling like I had leprosy or something. The moment I mentioned a food allergy, these staffers could not get me out of their store fast enough. Thankfully a wonderful local bakery made an amazing cookie cake for my sweet birthday boy. They didn't even bat an eye when I asked if they could confirm the ingredients for me. What's ironic about this whole situation is that our son's amazing food allergy doctor is relocating and opening their new office next week right by this Great American Cookies. This is an amazing medical team that works with a large number of local allergy kids on a weekly basis so they can try to lead normal lives and are safe from cross contamination. I strongly suggest this owner re-think her attitude to polite food allergy inquiries, because I think it's safe to say there might be a lot more of these coming into her store now. read more

I love this place! I love that they have combined the Great American Cookies WITH Marble Slab ice cream. The service is usually done with a smile, they greet you upon entering. The only issue I have is that they close so early. It says on Yelp they are open to 9pm, but they are only open from 12-6 or 12-7pm. Otherwise no complaints. read more

Sad customer service, I almost feel bad for the kid that did not want to talk due to being distracted and I being the only person in the store. Ordered the largest milkshake, below is the picture of what I received. I guess inflation means prices and not the goods you receive. We ordered a large cookie cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. It was decorated as if a toddler had written it in the upper left corner of the cake. The manager who called me back about it said the owners might call me back. The same manager called back 15 min later and said it had been too long (I called 9 days after the party - life is busy!) for them to issue any sort of refund. Honestly, if the owner had cared enough to even see the photo to try to understand the issue or train employees for the future it would have been enough for me to continue business with them. But the owner was unwilling to communicate or seek a resolution. So, here is the cake. Don't go to this location if you want a decently decorated cake. read more

This location is a Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Ice Cream shop in one. The cookies and register are up front and the ice cream is towards the back. We just wanted to grab cookies and it wasn't clear if we needed to wait in the ice cream line so we stood awkwardly near the cookies and register only to be ignored for the first few minutes. After one worker finished up with a couple, he moved on to helping the other worker with making ice cream for a family. I don't mind waiting in line, but the set up didn't make sense and we were basically ignored the entire time. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else. read more

I ordered a cookie cake to be delivered for my granddaughters birthday. it arrived with the icing squashed and ruined. when I called they they said I would have to pay for another because it was a delivery issue and I would have to take it up with Uber. I said I didn't pick Uber they did. They said sorry but not our problem. and asked if I wanted to purchase another $50 cake. So they ruined my little granddaughters birthday and screwed me out of $50 some dollars. Do yourself a favor - order from someone else. read more

I should have eaten lunch today. Stopped by craving some ice cream. Ordered butter pecan, no pecans in the ice cream. What?! That was mistake one. Mistake two-let my cravings get the best of me and ordered cookies. Chocolate fudge-not a hint of chocolate taste. Sugar cookies, tasted almost exac like the chocolate fudge cookie. I was working and decided to pick something up for my daughter and I. These cookies are massive and delicious.

Placed a somewhat larger order (6 of the best value ice creams) online to be ready ASAP. After paying online and submitting the order, it said it would not be ready for an hour and a half. Seeing as that is not ASAP, I called the store to explain that I don't live close and that is a long wait. The guy that answered the phone was very rude and impolite. He basically said that they need that whole time to complete the order and have to tend to other customers. I said we are not far from the store and would appreciate if they could at least start the order. We arrived 30 minutes later and none of the ice creams had been started. The girl working was nice and helpful, the guy would not speak to us. Two of the toppings we had chosen online were out. A lot of the ice creams were messy. Overall, disappointed with this experience and the guy's lack of customer service. I understand that it takes time to make orders but an hour and a half is absolutely ridiculous and it was not busy. read more

When you do a search for this location their phone number is always hooked to a fax machine or you get a recording saying that their voicemail is NOT set up. You cannot order online either from the main Great American Cookie Company website for this Lakeway location. This will hurt this location if they do not correct those issues. read more

I ordered a custom cookie cake over the phone, it turned out great and I am shocked by the quality for a GAC.

i used to work here. let's just say if you want to eat biohazards, come right on in. all of the dipped cones are prepared in a crockpot with chocolate that is never cleaned out - just reheated over and over again with new chocolate and crisco added whenever they see fit. the baking pans are never cleaned, they are simply wiped down with water in a rag, which collects a disgusting odor and color by the time you are done with wiping down the first one. the pans have a consistently greasy feel. when making the m&m cookies, we are instructed to put less than ten m&ms on each one, even though the corporate guide says 13-18 m&ms, and they do this to save money. cookies are supposed to be thrown away after 24-48 hours depending on the flavor, but i've noticed cookies that sit in the open air counter for a week or more. i've seen cookie dough boxes with mold in the LITERAL dough in the cooler, as well as moldy strawberries kept in there for at least a couple days. the owner and his wife left me and about three other MINOR employees to fend for ourselves, opening and closing the store on our own for a week straight. i personally was working entire days with only a 30 minute break, and when i had to call the owner or his wife for help, they got fed up with me. there's an ant infestation in the kitchen, i've seen scorpions and roaches back there as well. to add onto the instructions that didn't match up to the corporate guides, we were told to put less dough per cookie so we wouldn't run out as fast and have to pay for more dough, and the customers would pay the same amount for less cookie. no free ice cream samples either - and they took away the smallest size of ice cream so customers would have to pay more. the management is absolutely horrific - the amount of breakdowns me and my other past coworkers had was insane. the only good person working there was the managers wife. please if you have a choice, eat somewhere else. don't risk your health and do not waste your money on sub-par food. we also keep, or used to keep bug spray in the kitchen, which subtracted from the health inspection that was performed while the manager was absent and i was the only one working. the manager was almost never there anyways, and constantly watches every employee through cameras, and texts you if he doesn't like your behavior. also, when they were on vacation leaving us to fend for ourselves, our paychecks were late by a couple days. read more
