I have taken my girlfriends super old and beat Honda Civic here and my newer Toyota Corrola. The employees here are always super nice and straight forward but NEVER pressure you into buying services that you don't need. They do a great job of just informing you about different things about your car and offering recommendations. Wait room has donuts and coffee and a mini fridge of sports drinks soda and water bottles. Car services are always stressful for those with limited knowledge on cars but coming here really puts you at ease. There is a jiffy lube a block away that is always empty but here is always busy... that alone should tell you something. read more

They're always super straight forward with what you need/can do with your car (such as rotating your tires, getting a new air filter or changing your wipers). I used to come here all the time, but then we moved across town so it hasn't been nearly as convenient as it was. I was overdue for a change and thought I had better try to get it done during the day, and work is reasonably close, so in I went at lunchtime. I couldn't be more impressed with this Grease Monkey location. I live up north but dropped in to this location since I was in the area. The owner looked familiar and as luck would have it, he moved from the Shoreline Grease Monkey. I stopped going to the Shoreline one after he left because it just wasn't the same and the service turned horrible. I was thrilled to find him again! I love every person who works at this location....just incredibly sincere and kind. I've been coming here for a couple of years now and I never feel like they are up-selling me or trying to get me to get services I don't need. Today I happened to drop in to top off my oil and 5 minutes later, oil was topped off and they fixed a part that was causing my oil leak. Whaaat? I love how they always do the right thing and always surprise me with their level of service. The other notable thing is this.....very little turnover. When employees stay with a company for this long, there is a reason. Good management and good people run this operation and they will continue to have my family's business for as long as they are there! This is only the second Yelp review I have ever written....clearly, I only write when I'm blown away and something is really spectacular. I am not a certified nor am I a self-professed mechanical expert when it comes to auto repairs. I will say however, my father, has taught me enough to be able to fix the basics of car maintenance (brake replacement, spark plugs, oil & other fluid changes, a/c recharge, headlight bulb replacements, and the most difficult of all wiper blade replacement). I unfortunately do not have the garage/yard space yet in Seattle (someday), so for the time being for car maintenance I take my panty-dropper, The Ford Focus 2008, to Grease Monkey. Now I do know that, Seattle is a more expensive city, compared to where I'm from in upstate NY, so prices obviously are going to reflect on services/products. I do feel that Grease Monkey's prices are reasonable. What exceeds standards is customer service and the beyond customer care they emphasize. This all starts with Sid, the manager of this branch. I've taken all my Ford Focus's here for repairs/maintenance because of Sid and his team of car technicians. One of the things I do when I am wary of a car repair shop is to "play dumb" and see how the technicians/manager answers the question(s). Now I may get away with this because of the car basics my father taught me. My past experiences have always been "upcharge" or "replace" something when it doesn't need it at all. I actually tested them about 2 summers ago when I did a cross country drive from NY to Seattle. Sid and his team didn't give me BS answers. Another time was when I had another Ford Focus (2005) sent from NY to Seattle (my wife's car) with less than 20,000 miles. I had them check the fluids and do a brake inspection, Sid and (Terron, asst manager) pretty much told me this car was practically brand new and never saw much driving (it did belong to this old and wonderful italian grandmother who never drove). I remember clearly before I took it to Grease Monkey, I had phoned/inquired with other repair shops and asked about an oil/lube/filter and got astronomical prices, one guy even stated this to me on the phone (I am paraphrasing), "Yeah that Focus has a unique/special oil filter that's why we have to charge a bit more", LMAO really, I did not know a 2005 Ford Focus was considered a luxury vehicle. YOU WILL NOT get this type of BS response with Grease Monkey/Sid. On a last note (please take a look at the photos of other reviewers), they have a complimentary table filled with cookies, donuts, muffins, various bottled drinks, and coffee, and a tv to relax. Come on, half the dealerships I've gone in don't even have that for their customers in waiting for their vehicle to be repaired (and yes I try to stay away from dealerships for repairs, OVERPRICED like no other). If I can't do the job, I take my car here to Grease Monkey for the reasons I stated. And while reading this, you may have seen a recurring theme...I am a Ford type of guy. The people here are kind, friendly, professional in what they do and honest in the way they do business. The waiting area is clean and always stocked with refreshments (they even have kids books for my little ones!) and I love that they are Seahawks fans too :) In the past month, I've got nails in my tires twice, and both times they patched it up for me within 10 minutes and they didn't charge me a dime! I left feeling so grateful because they could've charged me if they really wanted to. With all that said, I love this place and the people who run it. I'm usually apprehensive to take my car to quick service places (I have had some negative experiences in the past) but I didn't have time to schedule a service at a dealership before my travels. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and I was in and out within 15 minutes for an oil change. I expected it to be busy but they had my car in and out in no time. The people working there were incredibly polite, and answered some car-related questions that didn't have anything to do with my oil change. No upselling or pressure to spend more. Very reasonably priced. The waiting room area was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of refreshments (though they were too quick for me to even finish my drink!). Okay literally the first thing I did when I walked in the door coming home from my oil change was to open up Yelp to leave these guys an awesome review. In fact, I'm surprised I didn't write one last time I came in here! I'm not exaggerating when I say that I'm fairly certain that the guys working at this Grease Monkey are the friendliest people in Seattle. They greeted me by name as I pulled up, and every interaction with them after that was beyond pleasant. The truck I brought in was my dad's, and I don't know much about cars, but they took the time to walk me through everything they did and what they recommended needed attention. I never felt pressured, just thoroughly well-informed. Included with the oil change I got was a interior vacuum, window cleaning, lubrication of whatever makes the truck awkwardly squeak every time I drive... Not to mention that they did all of this in probably 15 minutes or less. I was amazed. These guys were ridiculously friendly, fast, and they gave me a fine oil change, complete with surprise Tootsie Rolls when I got back into the car. HOWEVER, I have two big issues with my experience here. 1. While I was sitting in the waiting area, one of the gentlemen who was working on my car came up to me, verified that I was the owner of my car, and let me know that I had a front headlight and a rear taillight out. Would I like for them to replace it? I asked how much it would cost me, was told it would be $30, and I told him no thank you; I knew I could switch out the lights myself for much cheaper at home. When I got home later, I checked all of my lights, and guess what- every one of them worked. So, a note to anyone who is told that they "need" to get a light replaced here, I don't know if they have quotas on this or what, but I'd recommend that you ask to be shown which lights are out. If they need that extra $30 to afford my surprise Tootsie Rolls, I'd rather they just not lie and spare me the sweets. 2. When I handed my car off to the gentlemen working, I let them know that I could feel while driving that the power steering fluid level was low, and that I would definitely need a fill-up on power steering fluid. I was assured that this would be taken care of. Later, while driving off the lot, I could feel the power steering handling rough, but didn't feel like pulling over in traffic to double check immediately. It was too late in the day to go back before I decided to actually check my power steering fluid level myself, but when I did, I wasn't surprised to see that it was extremely low. I checked my receipt, and saw that power steering was marked "checked," not "filled." CMON, guys! I specifically asked you for this! I came to Grease Monkey to save myself a hassle, but ended up hassled anyway. read more

In short: I regret to go here on a Saturday morning and shocked that the shady behavior still exists these days. Take my advice with a pinch of salt, only come here if you know what you're doing. I went here for an oil change and a general inspection. I've always got service for my car in Bellevue at Auto Dynamix and totally satisfied but since I'm in the area I thought I gave this shop a try. The overall service is good and the staffs seem professional. I'm unsatisfied not because of the quality of service but because of the dishonesty between people. When I dropped my car here, they took a look and told me that one of the headlights was out. It was working fine just *a few hours* before. I don't believe the headlight can go out in such a coincidence and I believe it has been broken intentionally to incur charges. I did not agree to do the replacement. From what I've experienced, I will not return and recommend against this service. read more

It has been a while since I was here and back then I gave a heartfelt five star review. This time I was disappointed. The fellas were kind and the place was not busy so service was quick. Sadly, they did not vacuum the interior despite listing it as a service (however they were honest in saying that it was not completed). The most frustrating part was my low tire light came on the next day! I had to put air in all my tires. The tires are new! Air pressure was marked as checked so I suspect something happened during this check. read more

It took less than 20 minutes to change oil and we got the air filter changed too. While we waited in the waiting room, there were soda, donuts and cookies. Great and honest service. My car was serviced by Terran (I believe) who is very genuine and sincere. He recommended a couple of services for my car but wasn't pushy at all, even when I declined them for this visit. I'm definitely coming back. I went to Jiffy Lube in Downtown Seattle last time and got my air filters replaced but they did such a poor job that the filter cover just came apart a few days later. The car was nicely cleaned after the service. Oh they have free mini bar with cookies and sodas too. Love this place!! read more
