This is the second Grease Monkey I've been super impressed with! The guys here literally had my oil changed in less than 15 minutes. They were very nice and even vacuumed my carpet. I was treated respectfully, which, as you ladies know, is sometimes hard to get with car-related services. You know what I'm talking about. A word of advice to the owner. Don't advertise an oil change plus a package for $21.99 if you are going to charge $110. They ushered me into the shop and spoke really fast about how much more they were going to charge me for every little thing. Your tank is 6 gallons not 5. You have to have the most expensive oil or your warranty will be void. By the time I realized what was going on they had already started the service that cost $21.99 which actually cost me $27 because they had to do something extra of course. I then realized that the oil change is $81.99 and is totally separate from the $21.99 package which btw they didn't even complete. They did not vacuum the interior of my car. I just felt swindled as I was sitting there and I will never go back. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had period. read more

Went here for a quick oil change, that's all. One of the guys checked my engine air filter, and couldn't get the housing put back together correctly. Turns out I had changed the air filter recently, and I had put it in place upside down, but since it's almost perfectly square, it fit but with some difficulty. They caught this and tried to put the housing back, but couldn't. The next thing I know they are coming at my car with a drill and tools! I got out of my car to see what was going on. They had taken the filter housing completely apart, and removed the air duct to it. I was stunned! Then the manager was super snide with me when I asked why they had done that, and he snarled at me "you try getting it back together"! I was able to instantly snap the filter housing back together. There was NO need to take everything apart. Then he almost lost one of the clips for the duct, which I found. The manager was SUPER nasty through the whole thing. I drove off, happy to get my car out of there before anything else happens to it! To my surprise, something was rattling in the engine as I started driving away. Turns out he never tightened the filter housing back into place!!! I had to do that when I got home. NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

Awful, this place overtightened the oil pan so much that I ended up having to replace it.

11 days and still no refund no call no nothing! do not bring your car here they don't know how to tighten a oil plug and will destroy your car read more

I took my 98 CRV here a couple months ago to get an oil change because I didn't have time to do it myself at that time. Everything seemed fine and I was satisfied enough with the service until it came time to change my oil again and I come to find out that someone here over-tightened my oil plug. I recently moved to this area from Ballard and had been going to the Grease Monkey there for several years. The Ballard location is top notch, the people are really good at what they do. I have to say that I will miss them. I brought my truck in for service the other day and I was happy to find that the same professional and speedy service also exists at this location. I was a loyal customer for the past 8 years always gotten my oil changed here. I had come in for a routine oil change at the end of 2015 and needed my windshield wiper replaced. The guy who changed it ended up cracking my windshield. They assumed responsibility at the time, but my car broke down around the same time so I couldn't bring it into the shop. I recently fixed my car and went back to them to get my windshield replaced and they said because I took too long and I didn't follow up with them that they are no longer responsible for my windshield. My response to them was that regardless of how much time has lapse that doesn't mean the responsibility goes away. The General Manager - Michael Nowak was rude and unprofessional and even after he confirmed his shop was responsible he kept trying to find reasons to get out of it. If you are in this area - DO NOT USE THIS SHOP TO SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE FOR ANYTHING! read more

The bad: This place is deceptive. They already charge higher than the market rate for a full synthetic oil change ($81 for up to 5 quarts) when most places in Seattle or just down the street in Burien are at least $10 cheaper. High prices are annoying, but my review is negative because of their deceptive charging. They have an extra $5 fee if you have to get a "premium oil filter" in your car. They never told me that on the front end, and I've never been charged for a "premium" oil filter on my current car. To add insult to injury the guy said next time bring in the coupon. I told him I saw a coupon but it looked like it only applied to a conventional oil change. I told the associate that information. He then said it would have gotten you a discount. I said I wouldn't mind getting the credit for the coupon since I had it but didn't know it applied. He just ignored my request. He told me to just leave feedback for the owner. Sadly, I can't support this business even though it's a convenient location for me. Their prices are higher than the competition, they are not up front about charges, and if a customer has a gripe they just defer you to the owner. The good: On the upside, the place wasn't nearly as busy as other oil change places within a mile. If you need an expensive oil change quick then this is your spot. I was willing to pay extra for the convenience of not waiting but the other charges mentioned above just put a sour taste in my mouth. read more

I have been going to grease monkey for a couple of years and have been pleased with their service, but not any more. I went in for a routine oil change, and ended up with engine problems. The technician had over filled my car with too much oil which I later found caused a seal to blow. When I addressed the situation with them they refused to have the problem fixed. This is poor customer service, since they caused the problem. Don't trust them!!! read more

Don't waste your time - go to Pit Stop! I called Pit Stop and asked them what the cost of their oil change with their coupon was and they were very straight forward. When I called Grease Monkey the Manager was very short and said he wouldn't know the final cost until I brought my car in - even though I had gone to Grease Monkey in April and they had all my info on file. I told him I had their competitors coupon and that they had promised me $69.99 and could they meet that. The manager said they could offer me $10 off my competitors coupon. I took my car to Grease Monkey and while they were very nice they refused to honor the competitors coupon. At no time did the manager explain to me that they would only accept one coupon at a time or that the $10 off was off of their regular price. In the end they charged me $13 more than Pit Stop and $10 more than I paid to Grease Monkey for the SAME SERVICE in April. I will also mention that I figured the manager was busy when he refused to tell me the cost of the oil change on the phone. When I arrived at their shop he told me business had been extremely slow that day. Obviously the slowness is a reflection on their poor customer service! Grease Monkey is untrustworthy and clearly they don't care about my business. read more
