This is a real and honest review. Had a car that was sitting for a long time, years, in the front of our house. It would barely start and didn't know what the issue was. I emailed him a short video clip of the issue and Brian was glad to help. As soon as he came out, he took the battery out of his own vehicle and it fired right up. I went ahead and asked if he could check out another one of our cars that was also dead and he did right on the spot. Brian came out on a rainy Saturday and was very responsive with the texts and calls. He even offered to come back out on another day on his own time to see if my completely dead battery would hold a charge at Auto Zone. I definitely recommend Brian and his services 100%. On my annual trip to Alaska from California my truck had some problems in the middle of a 3600 mile trip. Being in the area that I know nothing about the area. I resorted to Yelp to help me find a mechanic. I was able to get my truck to the DoubleTree SeaTac late Sunday afternoon and started to search Yelp. I ran across this guy and he saved my Collective ass. He gave me very reasonable prices and came out promptly on Sunday evening at 9 o clock repaired my truck and made sure everything checked out before he left. In this day and age, trust is huge. Sometimes you have to go out on a limb, take a chance with a business and hope for the best. This is what i did here and the reason i did this is because of prior yelp reviews which i consider huge! My van broke down. My son's replaced the alternator and battery which saved me a great deal of money but they just couldn't figure out why the battery wasn't getting a charge from the alternator. My next choice was to take this to a shop or dealer which didn't sound very attractive to me. So I looked for what are becoming more and more available to people...traveling mechanics. They come to you. Now, i was very particular in finding one that I wanted to try. Enter Brian McClurg or the Traveling Tech. From the get go, he had clear communication, was friendly when my husband called. My husband explained the situation to him and he arranged to come out the next day. The next day, since he was helping a prior client, he wasn't able to make this time but was very clear in communicated that he still wanted to come out even though it was later. We appreciated that he still kept our appointment and even came out when it was close to getting dark. He showed up, repeated what the issue was (that we had told him about), stepped up the van and I kid you not within 5 minutes he knew what it was. He stated that he would research where to get the part, order it, then come back and fix it. After this, I mentioned that I was told by a prior mechanic, that there was an oil leak somewhere. He proceeded to start looking around the engine and showed me various points where indeed there is oil. He didn't push me to as if to say, you better get this done now, but stated that it would need to get done as soon as we could do this. He offered to get a quote back to us and let us know what the cost would be. The next day he stayed in touch with me and let me know that the part had been ordered and that it would be in place in a few days. It was, he came back out and put the part in, tested the van to make sure it was working correctly and yes my van is fixed. He also got back to us with a quote and folks, it's incredible reasonable. All I have to say is, and my husband agrees, this guy knows his way around car repairs and he's trustworthy and gets the job done. We plan on having him do repairs on my van asap. I traveled to Washington to visit my cousin and while I was heading home to California my car started blowing white smoke everywhere. We called a different mechanic and he swore it was a head gasket as many others did. We called here and got a hold of Brian. Brian is amazing. My wife had to drive 6 hours to SeaTac airport to drop off our daughter for a flight and her car started making a high pitch sound that resembled a bad water pump. If the pump goes out then the timing belt could be shot and it could cost up to two thousand to fix everything. It was a Sunday morning and only a couple of places were open near the airport that had mixed reviews but we found Brian on Yelp. We called Brian and he was kind enough to drive out on an early Sunday morning to check the car out. He informed us that it could be several things but he wanted to make sure, so we left him our car for a couple of days since he had some other customers before us. As soon as he found the problem he called us and explained everything (some bearings were bad in the power steering pump), and told us exactly how much it would be. When we drove out to pick up our car Brian again explained the problem, showed us the bad pump, and saved us hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the end. Most importantly, Brian is a very kind, authentic, trustworthy mechanic who makes you feel like you're a part of his family. We were in a bad situation and thankfully Brian was there to save the day.
