This was literally the most horrific oil change experience I've ever had. They essentially told me I didn't know what I was talking about with the kind of oil I was getting in another state, and were very loudly talking about how they dislike working on my kind of car (Hyundai Tucson) and how they've "only ever done one of these before" and the technician under my car was asking for help the whole time and had to call another shop to have them talk her through it. I asked the other tech to please go make sure everything was okay and he still never went down to double check and they tried to show me a couple of things but I was sincerely so flustered from them saying the whole time that they barely know how to "do these on my car". I was then told it was one price and then it jumped even more at the end. They also didn't reset my oil change service meter on my car so it still started saying I need it serviced. Literally will never be back here and I was such a loyal GM customer in CO and I hope I can save someone else some grief. read more

I have used this station to change my oil in both my vehicles for years. Today I brought my dodge vehicle in for an oil change and a transmission flush. I was told they don't flush transmissions in my model of car. Even though they did it a few years ago. Then when wanting my oil change the employee told me they don't have an oil filter for my dodge vehicle. Really??? I was wondering why no one else was there at that station. I think I know now. I also had a coupon i was going to use from the website specific to the store , and they completely underminded and CHARGED ME FULL PRICE. even though the guy looked at it and acknowledged it. THEN they had last minute told me they sent the receipt to my email so i didn't see the charge until after i fully left and this place is on an awkward corner so i didn't go back. They lied to me. When I pulled in the guy at the computer told me the price. I asked if that was for conventional or synthetic. He told me my vehicle didn't take conventional. Not only is that an outright lie, but I have been getting conventional oil at another better Grease Monkey for years prior to going to this one. While changing the oil there were 6 guys just standing around the car. Service was gruff and unfriendly. But at least it was quick, and they have a coupon on their website. Robbing at this Grease Monkey location was kind, efficient and helpful. He let me know that my tires were filled with nitrogen rather than compressed air and it helped me resolve my ongoing issue with my tire pressure sensor. I have used this location many times over the years as I used to live just down the street. I now live eighteen miles away and still go here because they care about servicing your car, being fair and want your return business. I was in and out in about fifteen minutes for a lube oil and filter, no fuss, no muss, no hard sell on stuff I don't need. We had a wonderful experience, it was extremely quick. Like walked across the street for a coffee and walked back and the car was done, quick. Everyone we dealt with was more than polite. We paid $50 for an oil change without any specials/coupons and that was very comparable to the dealership we usually go to. With coupons it would probably be less. So based on previous reviews I am guessing they are doing a bit of damage control at this place and are trying very hard to rectify the negative reviews. I would say give them a shot. Horrible and without consideration! It was all good until they ripped off my door handle and just gave me my car nonchalantly as if it was just like that. Apparently the Incredible Hulk works there and his super human strength just ripped my door handle off. They just left the door handle on the seat. My car is older and started to make some serious noise. I had taken it in for an oil change and they recommended using EXP additive. They said my engine has some issues where it was going to need to be replaced but the EXP would help prolong the life.This is amazing stuff. This used to be my go to place for oil changes, now it is my get out! place. I took my almost 20 year old Intrepid in and had the pleasure of sitting in it for a good 5 minutes, without an employee in sight, waiting behind two cars with their hoods up for some direction on which bay they wanted me to go to. In the 3 years I had been going here I never waited more than 30 seconds before someone hustled out to ask me what I needed. I was finally greeted by an unfamiliar face, that I later learned was the new assistant manager. After asking me what I wanted, he immediately asked if I was interested in new wiper blades! Ummmm - it's 80 degrees out, and you are already trying to sell me on wipers? Once I get inside the waiting area, I find out the location is under new management. The wait time monitors are turned off, looks like no one will be getting any discounts for long wait times today! The lackadaisical pace of the manager and assistant manager gave me a clue that I should settle in. However! It wasn't long before the assistant manager came out to show me some fluid smears that were supposedly from my transmission fluid and power steering, as well as a smear of fluid with the color they were "supposed to be". "Someone has put the incorrect fluid in your car, maybe it was you or your husband?" Excuse me?!?Hmmmmm- hasn't this practice of fluid smears on paper been outlawed in other states? Doesn't the fluid change color over time? Isn't your business the only one that has put fluid in my car the past 3 years? And you want to charge me an extra $140 to "fix" it? But wait- there's more!!! My radiator cap seems to not be sealing well and the fluid in there is low. Can we fill that up and get you a new cap? Only another 20 bucks or so... But I just had a new radiator put in my car. "Well the radiator cap is from the reservoir not the radiator itself." Wouldn't my mechanic have noticed that? "Apparently not" Why am I suddenly smelling someone's tuna sandwich in my old beloved Grease Monkey? Oh! It's actually the fishy smell emanating from the new management! In the past, fluid top offs were part of my full service oil change- not today! Thank you baby Jesus, I finally got out of there before I was sold a new rear view mirror or I might have missed seeing the new management as I drove away! My only regret is that I never took the time to write a positive review for the old management. I always felt I was treated respectfully and never did they attempt to upsell me. In fact, they took time to show me how to take care of some things on my own- like checking my transmission fluid! Haha! Thank you old management and good riddance new management!!! read more

I was on a mission for an oil change. After doing some research and comparison between Grease Monkey and that other oil change place, I decided that I'll trust Grease Monkey once again. I've been to their Federal Way location a number of times and have yet to have a bad experience. The manager, Angela, is great! I wanted to have my fuel filter changed and they did not have one in stock so she offered me a discount if I come back when they do have it. And they vacuumed my car. I got a flat tire on my way to work and after a broken air machine at the gas station, I limped to Grease Monkey. They were so quick to figure things out for me, even though I wasn't here for oil change services. Turns out my tire has a side wall split and needed to be replaced and wouldn't hold air because the tire was off the rim too much. I also have aftermarket wheels and didn't have a key for them. Isabel came to my rescue: called her boyfriend and asked him to drive over cause they had that particular rim key at home. She offered me water and chocolate to make me feel better (it worked). When her bf got there, she switched my front tire to the back because I have a front wheel drive car and put my spare on. Her and her bf were so happy to help, it was amazing. I am so thankful!! Dont go here, they take advantage young female adult. My granddaughter went in for a 49.99 synthetic oil change and when they were done they charged her $95. She paid not knowing what else to do. My son was at work but on the phone with her when she told them what she wanted, it's what he told her to say. They responded with oh were sorry must have been a misunderstanding. They said she needs a tranny flush I wouldn't go there to them ever again. When my son called them to confront on their fee they offered him a 10% discount on his ject service. Are they serious. I normally do not write reviews but the crew needs to be mentioned for the excellent service I recieved. I needed routine oil change thought id give Grease Monkey a try. Max acknowledged me as soon as i drove in and went over the options i had to choose from. After choosing the service i wanted i sat in the waiting area thinking i would be there for a while. But much to my surprise it was really quick. Kevin showed me my cars air filters and explained to me the importance of a clean filter told me they checked my lights and all were in working order He walked back into the shop And before i knew it kevin came back in and said your car is ready to go.
