LADIES -- please read the other reviews carefully. If you aren't comfortable standing over your car or questioning every step, I'd strongly suggest steering clear of this place. I came in for one simple request: to have my coolant topped off so I could drive my car to my regular mechanic who just completed a full inspection in October. Instead, they kept my car for almost two hours, despite me repeatedly asking what the delay was and reminding them I only needed the coolant topped off. I was then told they "couldn't see where the leak was" and would need to take parts apart to locate it. I clearly told them NO and again stated that I was taking the car elsewhere. They then said they would just top it off. Thirty more minutes later, they told me my car was ready and charged me $74.25. When I asked what work was done, they claimed they "fixed one leak" but said there was another leak that would require more time and money. That makes no sense, because when I arrived, there were only minor drops. After leaving their shop, the leak was suddenly much worse, and nearly all of the coolant they added leaked out. I brought my car in with a simple request and left with a bigger problem than I started with. This experience felt misleading and unnecessary, and I would not recommend this place especially to women unless you are prepared to closely monitor everything they do. read more

Super impressed with the service from my visit today. There were a few people ahead of me, but Annette was absolutely rocking and rolling. She got everyone taken care of quickly- and was doing both the service and front desk work herself. I brought in an older vehicle we just fixed up that sat for years without being driven- she took the time to give me advice on a form to fill out to save some hassle and headache on our next step in getting it back on the road! Don't disregard the other bad reviews as easily as you might if it were about a restaurant. People have different tastes and ideas about what makes an experience "good enough" and cooks and waitresses can have bad days. A bad meal is likely the worst that can happen if it turns out you were wrong to give them a chance. And ladies not all of you but a vast majority will willingly admit you don't know a thing about cars and you will spend more time and thought on choosing a hairstylist, and would NEVER ignore bad reviews about that. Now, with YOUR vehicle, surely you will do a little homework on potential costs and seriously consider the reviews here-why else would you be here on this site if you didn't care? You might even checkout the BBB? So, since you ARE here I'm going to proceed in expectation that I have the correct audience. IF you stumbled upon this, maybe you're on the way there and looking here for funsies, or they got you with idea of coupon or discount -good luck to you, close the browser now, this post ain't for you. Most Everyone gets a discount btw, especially if your simple oil change turns into more, either because it's "needed" or because they failed to do things right at your last visit, or you balk at the cost or play damsel in distress. The charismatic manager-he doles out discounts and makes you feel special. YOU are NOT special. He is a salesman, he wants repeat business and he's really only doing his job if he can get you to return or has high sales figure for that Monday afternoon conference call with district manager. Now, if your going there for more than an oil change YOU'RE going to the wrong place to begin with! If you didn't know that, it's unlikely you'll be able to judge whether or not something that needs repair down the road was a result of their initial negligence, oversight or maybe just their limitations. Im not suggesting you brought the car in for oil change and they went in the back and totally messed it up and came out and said it needed all these things. I AM telling you if they say you need a new battery how do you know it's not the alternator? How do THEY know? Do they have ALL the diagnostic equipment that a full service mechanic would have? NO. Can they check codes? NO. Was it true you needed a new battery? Might be. Might be when that new battery is dead a month later you don't realize that they didn't do anything nefarious but they were just incapable of providing a full diagnostic. But they're unlikely to tell you that and playing Devil's advocate that's YOUR fault not theirs, because you took your car in to a place that specializes in OIL CHANGES and it needed other things, you kind of suspected it too or maybe outright knew it. If you just can't help yourself because they made you feel like a friend before and everything turned out all right, at least know what the service your requesting should cost considering labor and parts but even if your there for an oil change, know what that should cost-call around first. Don't forget to factor in your lost time waiting-are you missing work or doing this on your lunch break, do you have to pickup your kid from school later, or just would rather be doing something else? If you think you'll be in and out, if they say they can fit you in, if they suggest they're not THAT busy so come on in...know those are pretty much default responses and remember they are NOT your friends and they have sales to make. All if this being said, go somewhere else, I beg you. Their lack of duty of care I experienced at my last "oil change" resulted in $700 out of my pocket, but hey, I did get that discount! In addition, since it wasn't my particular experience, I'll just say I know someone else who went to get oil change but mentioned other issues. She was so excited-mechanic "had her in and out gave her a discount and fixed the problem." The only thing is problem has returned, issue misdiagnosed. So that cheap oil change visit is really turning into a costly headache. But don't worry grease monkey, she's planning to go back to you! You guys seriously suck. Ever since Tyler left this location has gone to complete hell. I sat for 45 minutes today only to be told my expedition would fail inspection due to a tail light bulb and none were in stock at the shop. Oreilly's is less than 5 minutes away and this is usually the first thing that should be checked on an inspection not 45 minutes later. Went in for my inspection and was out within 10 minutes(give or take a few minutes). I've never been to this location even though I live around the corner. I'm not sure about the negative reviews based on "rudeness"because I didn't experience that. I'd say you get what you give, so if you have an attitude or are disrespectful for whatever reason then expect it back because that's just life. It was nice having a conversation vs being told, "go have a seat and we'll let you know when your car is done." Charles and the two guys were awesome. I will definitely be back. Hopefully, my experience will be no less than it was tonight. Most of these negative comments are simply because you don't maintain your vehicle, yet, get mad when you're told something is wrong that led to another costly repair. I will never be back to this place. Went today and got my oil changed. Asked if they would make sure to grease everything. As I watch the guy in the pit change the oil I noticed he didn't grease anything. So ask the guy on top to have it greased. Then the guy in the pit said he greased all four of them to my surprise! I politely pointed out that there are 7 grease spots on the front. He said ok. Then the next words out of his mouth are where is the grease gun. He spends a minute looking for it then comes back and it doesn't have any grease in it. He then comes out of the pit up top and gets another grease gun and proceeds to go below. Starts greasing my truck and as I'm watching him him it looks like that grease gun also did have grease but at this point he is just faking it. Then they proceeded to pull my truck out of the bay with my emergency brake on ( my truck is a standard so I had to drive it in the bay because the nice lady at the beginning said she couldn't do it without readjusting my seat) I talked to the manager told him what happened and why I wouldn't be back. Then I went and looked at my truck and my hood was not latched down. I then called the guy that closed the hood and showed him how to close the hood all the way. Nothing tricky you just have to close it!!! I also double checked my oil level just to be safe. So I get home and sure enough not greased and washer fluid is low. Couple thoughts based on my experience - great place to go if you want to spend a lot, not have your coupon honored, spend an incredible amount of time waiting, be yelled at/falsely accused and called dude by a so-called manager, and forgotten as customers jumped ahead of you. I was here nearly 1.5 hours, 15-20 minutes of which was looking at my car finished but not pulled out of the garage since the employee told me "other people pulled in after we finished and we don't have time to pull your vehicle out, but its done", 30 minutes to check out since they didn't have anyone on duty that could process a coupon, and the rest of the time on a "10 minute oil change". I was told oil changes are quick but rotations take a long time (must have added some lug nuts since I did this myself?). While the car was sitting there not being moved, I walk around the building and engaged our "so-called manager" as to the status. He yelled out me to get out of the garage (never stepped foot in there and accused me in front of a room of customers of walking thru the shop doors and out onto the floor) - vivid imagination and slander all in one. When he froze at the cash register and could not get it to work, I asked how long it will be and he said "calm down dude you are not handling this the right way." When I said I would prefer not to be called dude, he mimicked me. Somewhere in this mess he called a higher manager that offered no apology , no honoring of the coupon, and I left after paying more than I have ever paid for any oil change and rotation on the vehicle (except for the Lexus dealership) and with my blood pressure way too high. For a considerable time they refused to turn my car over to me and then they refused/or were not able to give me a receipt so I could leave - closest thing to being held against my will I have experienced. So, a couple of weeks thought it was closed but pulled up. They took 10 minutes before acknowledging I was there. Needed inspection and oil change, inspection guy is out for the day but I can do the oil change.... No I'll be back. (instead of going elsewhere) Finally had time to go back, now a car that we have been servicing and inspecting for 8 years with no modifications has failed inspection (window tint).... Coworker had inspection failed for a FACTORY window as well a couple weeks ago I just found out! Of course, it passed at another location that same day. Place looks worn down, does'nt even look open, service is slow and not as friendly as it used to and so many inspections not passing just seems odd. Came here for full service oil change. Advised by technician that the air filter needed to be replaced, which I agreed abs asked how much. Quoted $26. I was overcharged at checkout for $46 air filter. Also they did not clean windows or vacuum interior like the full service oil change cost is supposed to include per their website. read more

I have been going here for 7 years. Noticed the constant turnover in help and service getting worse. Went today, got there 15 minutes before they opened and was first in line so I could get in & out. Always had oil changes done in the first stall. When they opened, guy came out and said I noticed you were here first. He then advised I had to go down to third stall. There was a pickup there that came 12 minutes after I did. They took him in first even though I was the first one there. Four stalls but only had two open. Observed more guys standing around than there were working. After 40 minutes, my car was still outside. They tried to make excuses but it was all BS. It is poorly run, nobody moving very fast, and non-existent customer service. I will never go back here and would advise anyone else to go elsewhere. Extremely bad customer service. I have been a long time customer but won't be coming back. Waited over 30 minutes and was never greeted by an employee on my needs. Constantly heard cursing and yelling between employees and I had my nine year old daughter with me. The final straw was the employee wearing the camo beanie and maroon hoodie on February 28th started yelling and cussing in a clients car, got out of the car, then was throwing parts across the bay while screaming. The cherry on top was after an hour long wait in the oil change line they told me they could not do my oil change because they would be closing for lunch and closing for an hour. I do not recommend giving these people your business, as I write this the employees are talking about "getting high" amongst themselves. This was a "Monkey" show. LOUIS, My hero! I went through Grease Monkey for my annual auto inspection to renew my tags and Louis helped me(seriously, nicest guy you'd ever want to meet). I told him my amazing hot-rod 2009 Nissan Rogue was running pretty ruff and he said he'd take a look for me. A few minutes later he walked into the waiting room (which was clean and stocked full of various forms of entertainment, even a place for the little ones) with a bone dry dipstick (whoops). He didn't scold me or even give me that whole "she's a girl, she doesn't know any better..." Because I do know better! My Father is a retired A-10 pilot and I was raised to be the son he never had!! Sorry, got a little off topic there... Louis explained I was in dire need of an oil change and I explained I only had enough to cover the cost of the inspection. Well, Louis being the rockstar that he is topped off my fluids, gave me a Military discount (which left me enough to actually pay for my registration!). I love you Louis! I love very pretty girls who work the reception desk as well, they always have something hilarious to say and make you feel completely at home when you are there. If you need to have your vehicle serviced GO TO GREASE MONKEY!!! Ask for Louis and tell him crazy Sara sent you! Hahaha! Just kidding, you don't have to do that. They sure do pride themselves on customer service here. Do you pride yourself on lying too? You know just as well as I do that you told me my skid plate was not able to be bolted back or ziptied in which was your other suggestion. Anyone with eyes can see that my skid plate which was not properly placed back on by one of your techs that it was ruined. My skid plate should have been replaced properly the first time. I am aware cars endure wear and tear but that should not have happened. Y'all may think losing a skid plate is no big deal but thats my car that gets me from point A to point B. Your business came highly recommended and the fact that you just bold faced lied about the whole situation and not even took a little responsibility just proves my point on how up to par your customer service and care really is. This place is a joke. I have used this place a few times in the past. However, recently I went for a vehicle inspection and the guy said tint was too dark. I questioned him and he said let me calibrate my machine and try again. Really? He then said too dark can't pass you and hate to loose your business. I drove 50 miles round trip using my gas and my time, straight to the tint shop and they laughed saying we did 33% on your front and state law allows 25 %. Take it to another place of your choice and they were sure it would pass. Yep it did. Never will I do business will I do any business at this place in the future. I will also inform as many people as I can in this regard, so they don't waste their time. You would think with the low ratings herein they would be more apt to do better. Maybe the guy wanted a bribe or something. I have read in the past where some shady stuff had happened here regarding inspections. Place is the absolute worst. Do not trust your car to be worked on here. When denying the option to get up sold on the fuel upgrade stuff I got all kinds of attitude. I was charged twice for the service that never got completed. Went in for an state inspection, 3rd year in a row, at this same location and today service guy states my windows are too dark. He claims the reading came back at 16percent! No changes have been made to my tint, only explanation he could give me was that, they possibly never checked before but now that he is there he does. Had him check his computer and sure enough last year and previous year they passed my inspection with same tint. Either this guy was full of it or he needs to check his machine! Came here around 2pm to have my rear brakes looked at out of concern for them being very worn . Waited 29 minutes for an employee to actually talk to me. They told me in just needed to get the brake fluid flushed which was s quoted for $130.00 dollars. That's great I can do that myself . I tried asking the mechanic if there was anything wrong with my rear brakes. And was told that they were fine and had plenty of life left, after going to another mechanic for a second opinion I was shown my completely worn out brake pads and rotors. Went to a place down the street who actually replaced them for me and did a good job. We have taken my daughters car to Grease Monkey several times...spent lots of money there, including a new battery about a year ago. This morning, they gave us a quote to do work on her O2 sensors, and told us the "new" battery had issues with the cold cranking amps. They called us about an hour ago to tell us they couldn't honor the quote they gave us and that there was nothing wrong with her battery...so frustrating!
