I went to The Whitlock street location for an oil change and asked for Mobil 1 synthetic. this is what I use. they did not have in stock so they said they would have today. went In the office while it was changed. the female employee rang me up for $ 205.00 dollars I said I always pay between $ 105-115. she informed me they had gone up. I said why don't you inform your customers when you double your price. she informed me that the new price. obviously I couldn't refuse since it was already in my car. This a complete rip-off when you don't mention you have doubled the price. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. IF YOU TO ANY OTHER LOCATION GET THE PRICE UP FRONT. read more

OK, so I pulled up to have my emissions testing done. The guy says you need to step out of the car for safety reasons. OK, I get that, so I let them drive the car in and next thing I know they're going in the glove box popping the hood open, basically pulling the car apart, looking for more items they can charge for. Been there, done that..... guy pulls the cabin filter out of the glove box.... I said, did I ask you to do that? He says oh we do everything here. I said great, but I just wanted the emissions tested and that's it. Please stop taking my car apart looking for extra work. Then after he gets done doing the emissions, he says come on and walk-through and you can go pay. Didn't you just tell me that the inside of the garage was off-limits because of safety reasons yet you 're allowing me to walk-through? Unbelievable, you make no sense, and I think you're trying to take advantage of people by doing extra work. When I say emissions that's, all I need. I'll never go back again. Too bad too, because this was close to the Kroger that has a kiosk for the tag sticker. read more

Daughter went to the Whitlock site in Marietta for oil change and brakes. The up-sale vultures were circling. This is the fast food of car repair. She did not want to "bigy size" anything. They provided a list of items her car didn't need pushing just the oil change piece to over $1000. I asked her to decline the extras because we manage that otherwise. They provided her an "Autel" printout that stated her battery needed replacing. It don't... it is a quality two year old battery. And the printout is suspicious since the date on it is over a year ago. That makes me wonder if they even looked at the battery... For the brakes, they insisted on replacing the rotors. Those are also only two years old. Be warned, these establishments have neither the mechanics or equipment to turn perfectly good rotors. They find it to be a better business strategy to just up-sale the customer. That pushes that job up to $1000. Consumers beware. The drive through model might be quick, but they are all about maximizing profits. Grease Monkey, don't bother applying a response to this complaint asking me to contact you so you can understand the situation. Feel free to reread this, but I think I was clear and the damage has already been done. read more

I went to Grease Monkey on Whitlock Avenue just to get my emissions done on my Highlander. While I was there, the staff pressured me into buying a new battery, saying my old one was failing. They installed a DieHard 630 battery, which I later learned is the wrong size and underpowered for my vehicle. Since then, the car has had intermittent starting issues and electrical problems that never existed before. My husband called to arrange a replacement with the correct battery, and we were told it would be swapped out. When we returned to the shop, they said to come back in an hour for the battery. After waiting two hours, we were told the battery was fine and no replacement would happen. I felt pressured into an unnecessary purchase and then ignored when problems arose. The service people didn't care and I still have a non working vehicle and they have my money. Very disappointed in the service and follow-up here. I hope management improves customer care and honesty. read more

I go in for a simple oil change and it takes over an hour cause they cant get the drain plug off. Then the guy forgot to put oil in the vehicle. i get home and i all the sudden have a leak. i bring it back amazingly its not their fault. im now looking at a quote from a mechanic for 750. their mechanic gave me 1200 estimate cause he said i would need a tune up and other things. do not go to to this business chain!!!! read more

The Grease Monkey at 2525 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA is staffed by some of the most professional mechanics I have ever dealt with. They are excellent at diagnosing an issue with my vehicle, and fixing it fairly and professionally. I will not take my vehicles anywhere else for basic maintenance. read more

Don't go here. When you pull up they act like you're the biggest inconvenience - how dare you come there asking for a service they provide. After eye rolls and inappropriate comments I left. If you're a woman they will definitely assume you don't know what your car needs and try and sell lots of other services. First time I came for a regular oil change and requested a specific type I've been using. They agreed and changed my oil and when I went to go pay it was $120 because they "were out" of the oil I requested so they just put in whatever they wanted and failed to let me know. Second time coming the employees were trying to get me to change my air filter and clean my engine when i actually already had it done a couple weeks ago so they were just making stuff up how everything was filthy. And the attitudes of the employees were not ok- Rude. Yelling at this one young woman after she said she couldn't hear what they had said - because the employee was giving instruction of what to do in the mean time while they were busy- she repeated in a very rude manner and tone. I only needed an emissions check... that's all I needed. I go to their building by 5:30, mind you they don't close until 7. I asked if I could get my emissions done and then the lady looked at me as if I was a pest and said they aren't doing emissions today... but yet their sign says emissions today, everyday? They were rude and didn't care about the customers needs. If they were super busy or their equipment was down then I would be understanding, but to look me dead in my face with an annoyed look saying yall aren't doing it for no good reason? We've used this location for emissions for several years and, while they don't have the best Yelp reviews, we've never had any issues...until today. While waiting in line, we heard Lee fussing at the other employees, to the point my little girl commented about someone being grumpy. I honestly felt bad for the other two employees working because their working environment appeared to be miserable and I never once saw them smile. Lee was mostly ok when talking directly to me, however, when checking out, he made a comment along the lines of having to do everything himself if he wanted it done right and then proceeded to suggest I pay in cash and give him a cash tip. The situation as a whole was enough for us to take our business elsewhere from now on. Again, this review is only for their emissions testing, we use another mechanic for all other needs. read more

I woke up thinking about the service I should have got two days ago. I don't mean to keep this moment on my mind, but I called the headquarters and haven't received a call back. They will intentionally try to damage your car by doing nasty things to it. Think 10x before going here. Be very very careful.

Upon arriving, no one came out to help me. I asked the worker to move the chain off the ground so I could drive my car in to the oil dock. He told me to just drive over it. The other workers were laughing in the office while I still waited for someone to help me. The office was dirty. One worker was smoking by the door so the stink came in to the office. The prices were not posted and were exorbitantly high. I had no choice but to pay $78 for an oil change and emissions for the services had already been rendered. Rip off. The previous place there charged $35 for the oil change AND emissions. read more
