Very honest, reasonable pricing, and trustworthy! We have been going there for 15 years. Most impressive service was repairing the AC in our 1999 Mountaineer. Even the well known Auto Cool in Smyrna could not fix it, Mac at Crawford was able to. Auto Cool's repair lasted about a year and failed to work. Found them on Yelp based on the reviews speaking about honesty and being trustworthy. I was not disappointed! The owner read my code for free on Saturday and told me what was wrong. Then popped the hood open to confirm and have a diagnosis. Ironically my truck broke down two days later!!! Rather than freak out I already knew who to tow it to based on the pre diagnosis on Saturday. Gave me a fair price with no extra fees. Just parts, labor and taxes. My part alone was $150-ish and then with labor (2 hours) and taxes was about $430 or something. That was for a water pump issue. I believe they charge/pass-through credit card processing fees which was a bit of a bummer (can't really recall) but at least they let you know upfront via the sign on the wall. After calling several Hyundai dealers to attempt to have my vehicle serviced, I was told that it would be months before my vehicle could be diagnosed. I called Crawford's and was seen the same day. My car was sputtering and I was afraid that I was experiencing transmission problems. Mac and his team took a look at my vehicle and diagnosed it within 30 minutes of my arrival. Turns out that my spark plugs were past due for changing and I had two cylinder misfires. Mac and his team changed my spark plugs and showed me the faulty plugs to ensure transparency in the repairs. Please, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE. I went here to get brakes and rotors done right during the pandemic, he assured me he could do the job. However, I didn't check to see if he put new brakes and rotors on, as part of our agreement. Moreover, a few months later, I look at the rotors they are completely rusty. I took the car back for him to rectify the situation. He said, "I see you need rotors; those are worn out." I told him this is what I paid him for. Long story short, I couldn't find my receipt and I am out of over $500 and something bucks. I REALLY HOPES THIS HELPS SOMEONE!!! Update: So, today I took my vehicle to the Infiniti dealership to have brakes and rotors done, front and rear, because my car was still wobbling. I was informed that the brakes and rotors were extremely rusty and worn to only be a year old. I was informed that the shop, which was Crawford Mechanics was supposed to replace the brakes and rotors, front and rear. In fact, Infiniti told me what I was charged at Crawford Mechanics was impossible to get the parts for that cheap of a price. I was scammed because I didn't have a receipt, the owner of the shop knew who I was. The owner made me feel so at ease, like I didn't need a receipt. However, I have learned my lesson, this was during a pandemic, when I didn't have much money to spend, I was just trying to get back-and-forward to work. In addition to this, I came back with my dispute, after the job was done. They used the fact that I didn't have a receipt when I came back to this business. Brought my car here after asking dealer if my gas cap could be the reason for check engine light. Dealer said problem instead was some evap / emission problem that would cost $1,400 to fix; plus they wanted $100 just to read the codes. So I went to Crawford's to see if they could do it cheaper. They did. Mac Crawford said before working on the car I should first go ahead and try replacing the gas cap. I did, and that solved the problem for only $13. Thanks Mac! read more

Perfect place. I came into here because I couldn't pass my emissions test. It turns out it was the wiring in my car. I had to have the control electric connector replaced, which would have cost me about $1000. They shopped around to find new wiring, making the connector pins, and wound up paying $110, instead. Mac, the owner, said he would plug my car up to see if I would pass emissions before taking it to get a new emissions test, free of charge. This place has a customer for life. I had my check engine light on, and before doing what he thought would be an expensive repair, he suggested I just change my oil (since it was time anyway) as that might fix the problem. It fixed it for a moment, but light came back on. I happen to swing by an auto repair place by my house a week later and they wanted to charge me $118 JUST to run the diagnostic... yeah... which is LITERALLY plugging in a hand held computer thing, and waiting FIVE MINUTES for it to tell you what codes are showing up. I took my keys and drove straight to Crawford's. I was leaving town the next day so a week, and when I got back, car was good as new and it didn't even cost me an arm and a leg. So, I have a 2006 Mini Cooper turbo and that thing is my pride and joy. I have taken super good care of her and she's been loyal. One day I woke up, went to leave for work and noticed my brake light was on. I thought huh my emergency brake is down, that's weird. Popped the hood, and saw my brake fluid was completely gone. I rushed to the store, put some DOT 4 in her, took her to get her flushed. The original place that looked at her couldn't find a leak ANYWHERE. Come to find out, once they did the flush, that's when the leak got bad. I was at home, thought the problem was taken care of, and noticed a huge puddle of brake fluid.... it was already 8pm and so I looked up Mac and saw his reviews were nothing but flawless. I called him before he was even open, he answered. I had no appointment, and he told me just swing by but get there safely. Within a couple hours he found the issue. He had his front desk girl shoot me a text with photos and I was amazed how he found it and the other place didn't. She gave me a call shortly after with the price for the full job and it was more than fair. I got it completely fixed with a flush for $175. Insane. I paid $99 for a flush ALONE. Some things in life are hard to find. A good hairdresser... a good Realtor.. and a good mechanic. Finally! I have found an honest mechanic on this side of town. Now usually my allegiance is to an auto place in Cumming. However,since I live in Marietta and I was tired of the insane drive (not to mention what it costs to get towed up there!!). I am so glad to have found Crawford's!! Now a little history about the shop/owner. The owner is Mac Crawford, drummer from the band Molly's Hatchet (flirtin with disaster). He is awesome. Totally down to Earth and does most of all of the work himself. His work is extremely fair and best of all reasonably priced! The shop has been in Marietta for years and he definitely has a strong clientele. Yet he still made time for me. I came in with brake problems and smoking engine. He did a diagnostic on the problems for free (including removing tires, inspecting breaks, etc). Then he gave me a fair quote and everything is fixed and works fine. Did I mention that the services came with a 12mo/12,000mi warranty! I would whole-heartedly recommend Crawford's to anyone. He is honest, thorough, and does great work! PS- as Sharise C. states, I was not uncomfortable being there without a male companion. In an industry where integrity, honesty and good work are the exception; Crawford's makes it the rule. Mac Crawford who happens to be the former drummer of Molly Hatchet, is also present ONSITE and called me himself, has won my auto repair business for life. My car has had a list of problems that do not uphold the "Ultimate Driving Machine" motto. I was lamenting my most recent woe of the check engine light being on to a co-worker who referred me here. The dealer tells me I need the 100k mile service to replace tranny fluid, spark plugs and all four 'O2' sensors for $1700! (To their credit, she also told me in confidence it's not necessarily necessary to replace all--if any--of them and I could "chance" it by checking them individually at an independent shop). Well, Pep Boys, Firestone all of those big guys want about $99 just to check it and read the codes. IF they can in fact read them at all. I'd already had that done for free at AutoZone, which came back as O2 sensors but they couldn't tell which ones since the automaker makes it impossible for non-certified mechanics to diagnose and work on their cars. Anywho, first I called and made an appointment w/Crawford's. They told me on the phone they do all checks for FREE. Great start! To make a longish story short; they were sure it was NOT the O2 sensor(s) because it wasn't saying which one, he suspected a vapor leak and he explained to me in simple terms what all that meant and how stuff is connected. Turns out the clamp that holds the hose to the air filter (or something like that) was simply loose and about to fall off, creating the leak. Problem solved and fixed in half an hour for $40! The shop is about 50 miles from where I live but it's worth the drive. I feel confident I can go here alone, no male buddy needed, just so I'm not ripped off. Mac, you rock! read more

AMAZING AUTO REPAIR COMPANY! Honest, thorough and fair pricing!!! My husband found Crawford's on google and liked the fact that they had so many reviews stating how honest they are. So we took my car in to be evaluated because they didn't have an appointment open for service but wanted to evaluate to see what needed to be done and right away the owner took care of a noise my car had been making for years completely (my dealership said to fix this was $300). So he said we can bring it back when they had an appointment and he would further address the issue but at least I wouldn't have to listen to that noise until my appointment time. I was so impressed with this. Then he went above and beyond when it was time for my appointment. Personally drove to get the part at the dealership, explained the charges down to the penny(which I appreciate!), stayed at the shop until midnight to get the job done correctly, and didn't charge me for the extra hours of labor because he said he already quoted me the price and he was sticking to it. I was blown away. They are just an all around honest, fair company and I am so grateful my husband found them. We will be taking our cars here from now on. After waiting a day for "a bay to be free" I took in my suv for simple emissions work and after an overnight stay when *I called them* for a status, I was told they started to work on it, but didn't have time for the depth of the issue. I picked up my suv with the dash torn apart (have pics, yelp can't post them), parts in the passenger seat. I fixed this myself and, like an idiot, took it back for the cause of check engine light. My suv sat for a day/overnight w/out anyone getting to it. I got it out of there the next morning at 9a. I took it to Fairground Automotive @ 9:15a; it was repaired by 12p. If you need something simple like brake pads, wheel bearing, this place *might* be of service. Seriously ... check RepairPal, they have qualified/seriously professional shops in your area. The horn went out on my 2007 ES350 . A friend diagnosed it down to a wiring problem. Have you ever tried to find a place to diagnose an electrical problem on an older car without charging you an arm and a leg? Well Mac at Crawford's took it on! I am very happy to have discovered Crawford's Auto Repair about five minutes away from my house. Usually, my husband and I drive all the way up to Woodstock to get our cars serviced by honest, reasonably-priced mechanics, but Mac Crawford and his shop are so much more convenient! I've been to him a couple of times now - once to get an oil change and once to get my headlights replaced. Both times, he and his team got the work done very quickly for a good price. The last time, my battery chose the exact moment which I was driving off the lot to die (it had been being iffy for the past few months), they checked my battery output (none), and got me a new battery for a very nice price. He made me wait in the lot for a few minutes to make sure that the computer was back online and functioning properly in the car before he let me leave. I have been using Crawford Repair for almost 3 years now for all of my auto needs. He doesn't do everything but he can recommend you to someone near by that can take care of you if he doesn't have the eqpt to do it. I have had him look at several vehicles for me. He is always polite, explains things, and usually never goes very far, if ever, outside of the quote he gives me on the phone. When I purchased my most recent car I wanted to get the oil changed and just have it looked at in a pre-purchase inspection. I was quoted $75 which to me was well worth the peace of mind that would come with it as I had never owned a v8 muscle car before. After putting the car on the lift mac did a walk around and came back and told me that he wasn't going to charge me for it as there was no sense in charging for checking when the car had 0 visible marks that would indicate rough use. That kind of integrity and ethics are hard to find. I would know, I have mechanics in my family which is why I still go to Mac. He is even kind enough to have the girl working at the counter drop you off somewhere else nearby if you want to wait while your car is taken care of like the pool hall just down the road. Even the one time where he didn't know what the exact problem was on my ex wife's car he still worked with me on trying to fix it. It was misfiring and changing the plug, then the wire did not work he figured out it was the distributor cap. Only charged me for the part, no labor since it was the 3rd time trying to solve the same problem. This shop is a treasure and I direct all I know to him and nobody ever has a complaint.
