There are quite a few options for sandwich shops in Walla Walla, but this stop is the only one worth going to. In fact, it's so good they opened up a second location purely for drive-thru orders. Walla Walla's restaraunts are notoriously overpriced, and I often leave places feeling either unsatisfied or still hungry (usually both). However, this restaraunt has never disappointed me. Graze offers wonderful, flavorful food made with fresh ingredients. There are plenty of options on the menu (vegetarian and vegan included), with rotating seasonal specials to keep things interesting. Kids meals are also available. The inside location has indoor and outdoor seating. Be prepared to wait a bit for your food, though. This place is quite popular, and everything is made fresh to order. Busy days can have up to a 15-20 minute wait depending on how much you order, so plan ahead. read more

The past two times I have gotten a sandwich and subbed tofu for the meat, there have been large pieces of roast beef or turkey stuck to the outside of the sandwich (or in some cases, small pieces inside of it). This is not only gross as a vegetarian, it is also unhygienic, as presumably these were leftover from other sandwiches and the workstation / prep or assembly area was not thoroughly cleaned. I would guess this is a health code violation. I hope that the management reviews cleanliness protocol with their employees, because I used to really like going here. Waste of time. The building looks like a run down mobile trailer from the outside. There is only a drive thru that makes everyone park and wait for their food. The food was poor flavored and temperature was warm at best. Took 13 minutes to get food after a 10 minute drive through wait. Meanwhile my kid went next door and got food before we even parked. We had a packed-lunch from Graze on a recent wine tour in Walla Walla. The sandwiches were excellent, but the chocolate brownie blew me away. I had just finished my sandwich (a veggie, with ample fresh avocado), and saw the tiny brownie in the bag. I normally wouldn't eat the desert in a packed lunch. It's often superfluous, and not very good anyway. Still, the sandwich was great. So maybe it's good? After noting what a small serving the brownie was, I took a bite. It was amazing. Light, but very chocolatey, and the top was still gooey. By the time I had really registered how great it was, it was gone (two bites). It was like they had already imagined the experience of someone enjoying one of their sandwiches, and then wondering, as I did, if they should bother trying desert. What a treat. read more

I got the pastrami which was pretty good, it came with chips or salad. I should have chose the salad as the chips were kind of bland. Three stars due to atmosphere and the inability of the staff to distribute meat in all areas of the sandwich. So fricken good! Graze was one of my go-to spots for quick, yummy food, both the sit down location near Main Street and the drive-thru further south. What started as a one person catering company became a catering/sandwich spot dual threat, and both are quite delicious. I can personally vouch for the Roasted Pear (panini and salad), Turkey Jack, and Turkey Avocado, though most everything looked good there. I love that I never felt gypped on cheese on my sandwiches, which is an important thing for all of us cheese lovers in this world. There isn't always quick service and there was an instance where the staff decided to stop cooking half an hour before closing time (which I understand but is still frowned upon in the culinary world). I still enjoyed my experiences with Graze, but let it be known that you may encounter hiccups on that front. The winery I worked at got catering from Graze for our final party and the food was quite good. Roasted veggies, pork roast, a big salad, bread, and this amazing polenta dish were on the menu, and I was quite pleased. Graze, philosophy-wise, is a lot like Chipotles except they serve sandwiches. Fresh is the key word here with everything but the bread made on site. They have a small open kitchen so you can watch your sandwich being prepared. My favorite is the flank steak with chimichurri dressing. Chimichurri is a blend of parsley, garlic, vinegar, olive oil, oregano and a bit of jalapeno pepper (or red pepper flakes). Spicy, tart, garlicky it is a perfect accompaniment to the tender flank steak. The bread is very good...probably made locally too. Served with homemade chips or a fresh mesculn salad it is a satisfying dish...pretty cheap at $8.25. The dining area is a bit small but when the weather is good they have outdoor seating. Recommended for lunch or perhaps a light dinner. read more
