My son and I had a lovely dinner at Graydon's Crossing, a first time visit for both of us. My son really enjoyed the fish & chips that he ordered - definitely recommend to any fish lovers. I'm all about that Asparagus and Mushroom Diane - it's like bruschetta, except take away the tomatoes, and stack that bread up with asparagus and mushrooms. They also have a burrito... it's essentially a burrito shell filled with Indian food. The burger is awesome, I've never had bad service, and they make their own ketchup. read more

A great restaurant with unique and tasty food paired well with a wide range of craft brews. The go to item for my family were the bang-a-licious shrimp! The only disappointment was that the shrimp was just an appetizer because I could have eaten an entire entree of just that. I had the pulled pork, great, kids got standard kid fare, great and wife blew us all away when she got the brick lasagna. The lasagna isn't what you think, but rather a great middle eastern dish with tons of flavor. If I lived in GR I would go for their special beer pairing dinners because if they can make their everyday menu that good, I can only imagine what a beer pairing dinner would be like! We went to Graydon's for a family Christmas Eve dinner, calling in reservations early. It's a little off the highway, but not too out of the way. The place wasn't busy(as expected on Christmas Eve). The atmosphere is transforming right off the bat- exposed brick, pub signage, and good lighting. It LOOKS like a pub. The beer menu was ridiculous right off the bat. It's several pages. There are many craft Michigan beers that I hadn't heard of. I tried a Belgian brew first. My wife went for a Margarita, which she said is one of the best she's had(had two more too). Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had trouble deciding what to get, because all of us adults love Indian food- and there were options. This wasn't straight out of India food- it's Indian with their own twist. First we ordered the poppers and samosas. These were a little light for the money, but fantastic all the same. The kids menu had some good items. Then- the food. Fantastic. We spent all of our time talking about IT instead of having conversation. The mushroom Vindaloo with chicken that I had was just the right amount of spice, large portion, and the mushrooms were locally grown and gave it a twist. Two of the adults had the butter chicken. Loved it, I tried it, and it was great. One of us had the burrito(which, if you look closely, is an Indian infused burrito, nothing Mexican at all). Also incredible. The kids loved their food, including the authentic pub fries. Bar none, best food I've had in 2014. I've never given a five star review before. Atmosphere, service, food- all top notch. Can't wait to go back. I've been to plenty of "pubs" pretending to be pubs offering burgers and fries- but this was like a REAL one- with the indian, and traditional pub fare. Awesome! read more

I ate here for the first time tonight. The service was very good, great beer selection, and fabulous food. The server was very helpful in offering suggestions and very attentive. I ordered the pickled beet crostini for an appetizer and, cuz it's an English pub, went for the fish and chips for my entree. While waiting two different small apps were brought to my table: a crispy Indian cracker with mango (I think) chutney, and the chef, Chris, brought Brussel sprouts cooked with pineapple jam with goat cheese. Both were fantastic! My crostini was super. The fish and chips were very good as well. The fish was a little greasy for me. For dessert, I had the chefs special of rhubarb. OMG! I was really exited to try this place because of what I've heard and seen online. Draft/cocktail list was pretty extensive, so there were no complaints on that front. I ordered the Indian fish tacos, but what I got was a very boring fried fish on a flour tortilla. There was a very small amount of cabbage and guacamole on each taco, but it didn't add anything to the dish. I also got mixed reviews from the rest of my party. I'll have to go back to try something else, but based on my first experience it might not end up happening. read more

I happened in on meatless Monday while passing through Grand Rapids, so I ordered ratatouille at half price. I would have gladly paid the full $13 for such an excellent dish. The vegetables were stacked in slices capped by a huge mushroom cap, surrounded by a tomato sauce that was rich, just right chunkiness and spiced with a bit of a smokey(?) flavor that may have been the best I have ever tasted. Tofu cubes were done just right. What a treat. I seldom write reviews, but this chef, whose name I learned is Katie, deserves kudos for this recipe and presentation. When Graydon's opened... I was a litte apprehensive. I felt it was a bit too snooty or the neighborhood. Boy, was I wrong. A great hang-out for locals and young professionals; Graydons has a very tasty menu and an incredible beer selection. I am rather fond of the Shephard's pie and their burgers ar some of the best in town. Paking on the weekends can be a bit tight, even with the extended lot. We wereheartbroken when the place recently caught fire and had to close... but rumor has it they will be reopening soon. We can't wait! read more

We went to Graydon's after reading reviews on Yelp, otherwise would have never found it. Interesting food, creative ideas going on , went back twice, The service has been really good both times so we signed up for a beer dinner and look forward to it. The curries were well done and each time have had different beer on tap. I just wish we could sample a beer and not be charged before we order a full glass. That has really been our ONLY complaint. Would recommend this bar to anyone, a menu for plain eaters and also those that like a little 'ump' in their food. read more

I really enjoy the AWESOME beer selection on tap. The food is different than most GR restaurants and has the flavorful punch I like in dinner dishes. We love sitting outside during the summer and enjoy the cozy atmosphere in the winter. Took my whole family there on a Sunday Morning. 11 of us. I made a reservation (most places I called won't do that on Sunday Morning) and they seated us right when we walked in the door. We had our options to eat off of the brunch and regular menu. Lost of good choices and plenty of drink specials to be had. The beer menu is mind boggling. Its huge. Ordered a variety of dishes: samosas, spring rolls, chicken sandwich, fish/chips, chicken pasty, and a couple of burgers. Samosas were very good. Spring rolls were rather boring. My son loved his chicken sandwich, and my daughter her chicken pasty. Both burgers were quite good, but on the small side. Fish and chips were okay, maybe a little soggy. Our waiter was friendly, but it took quite a while to get our food. No big deal; we enjoyed our drinks and the ambiance. Getting extra tartar sauce took a long time. Then we ordered a single desert item to go...and it took forever. Decided to just cancel it, and then it took another 5-7 minutes to get the revised bill back. My wife and I have been eating here for years. Graydon's Crossing is on our top 5 places to eat in the area. Last night we went for dinner and we were very happy with everything. The restaurant was a well oiled machine last night. We were promptly seated, and a quick glance at the large drink menu, I opted for the special. We ordered an appetizer, the house made fries with aioli sauce. Food was at our table within 10 minutes. The main courses were out shortly after. This was the quickest and hottest the food has ever came out. Typically we are there for 1.5 to 2 hours between drinks and food. Last night was about an hour total. Amazing. I have had a large number of items on the menu, some of the go-to's have to be the fries, hand dipped onion rings, drunken dip sandwich, the burger, the curry chili bacon poppers. My first visit to Graydon's Crossing was not what I expected. We were seated right next to the front window which was dirty. I asked could we be seated somewhere else and she said no. Then the hostess placed my menu upside down and both of the wrapped silverware in front of me. She gave only one daily special menu to us to share. They offered four types of menus and they didn't utilize all of them, I had to ask for two of them. It was noisy due to the fact that there was a large party occupying the upper part of the restaurant. The ladies' restroom was clean and cute which also provided a board with facts about beer. The HVAC system worked well and I couldn't smell fried food at all. When we received our appetizer one of the hostesses delivered it to us and she acted like we were interrupting her night. She didn't even bother to bring small plates out for our appetizer. Andrew took care of that right away. I have to say hats off to the cooks the food was excellent. We enjoyed curry chili-bacon poppers which were out of this world the bacon that was wrapped around them was delicious. My friend had a plain cheeseburger with fries which we were told was something new they are trying out. He said the burger was okay but the fries were to small. I enjoyed the carriage house beef and I would recommend this dish. The food was excellent! The server was great! The hostesses needed some training on guests' services. read more

The two stars are only for the fact that the burger was good. Graydon's loses 3 stars and my business because of, what seemed like, intentional deceit. When asked what I wanted with my $16 burger, our waitress listed the options. I chose a vegetable, assuming (having 8 years of waitress experience) that the options, the way they were presented, were all equal. When the bill arrived, I was charged $3 for the vegetable, so I spent $18+ on an acceptable burger, not great, not even with cheese or bacon, but a decent burger. I don't mind spending my hard-earned money (I'm a teacher) on a well-prepared meal and excellent customer service. What I abhor is feeling tricked into a higher bill - with the expected higher tip, of course - due to the lack of proper disclosure on the part of the establishment. If management is advising their staff to "not mention the up-charge unless asked" I would highly question their integrity. There are a lot of places in Grand Rapids that serve a great burger with a craft beer. I will be going to one of those places, but not back to Graydon's. read more

If you are looking for a place with great beer selection, this is it. The beer menu is 10 pages - half are on tap. There is a new cask tapped every thursday. So why the two-star review? If you are lucky the food will just be bland instead of gross tasting. The staff and management usually doesn't care about your protests about the nasty food, and can actually be quite rude. I love Indian food - I love British food. This place manages to ruin both. If I ever go here again (unlikely) I will just drink my dinner. read more

We live in the area and used to go to Graydon's quite frequently, especially in the summer. However, over the past couple of years, I've had food ranging from very yummy (love the samosas; and loved the Indian lasagna, although I think that's no longer on the menu) to mediocre at best (the bland pork dish I had a couple of weeks ago) to the greasy and gross (the hamburger). I've only complained once while there, as I was always hoping that it would get better. This last time we went (and my fiancee's butter chicken was really tasty), I did get a $20 coupon toward my next visit, which is nice, but what I really want is some consistency from my used-to-be-favorite neighborhood pub. It's interesting that Derby Station in the Gaslight Village, which I think has the same ownership, has much more consistently good food. read more

i gave graydons another chance after an okay dinner a couple months back, and i will never go back. i had a cuban sandwich, and it was not good. it didn't have the bacon on it, and the pork was dry. after the server asked me how it was, and i told her, all i got was a sorry. someone else asked me how it was, as he took the uneaten sandwich from me, i told him it was horrible, and all i got was a sorry. as someone who works in the industry, i do have some expectations. none of which were met. i was never asked if there was anything that could be done to remedy the situation. it was just sorry and here's your bill for your crappy uneaten sandwich. i just thought you all should know my experience.... read more
